381  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 25, 2013, 07:09:27 PM
I used to make animated GIFs for users here, but the last one I made no one bothered using so I stopped.

Ha, every idea I have seems to have been done many times before I thought of it.

So, who is that in the image?
382  Economy / Services / Re: Buying Your Signature! on: May 25, 2013, 06:24:18 PM
You mention a person needs over 50 posts to be eligible, but your payment rates start at 100 posts. What's the deal for someone with 50-99 posts?

I'll say one thing, offers like yours give added incentive to post a lot more frequently.
383  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 25, 2013, 06:22:33 PM
Lol nice
Glad you used it. In fact, it gives me pleasure to see all these GIFs being used.
384  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: May 25, 2013, 04:52:31 PM
Why do you sell all? You could have sold 1000, you would still be rich now, but you would also have some Bitcoins left in case the price skyrockets.
But thank you for redistributing Bitcoins for everyone.
Agreed, I'd never want to hold zero Bitcoins, especially when the current price is just half of the prices reached just over a month ago. But then again, I'm just a newb crumb collector compared to someone owning 1,000+ BTC!

I'm betting it will reach close to the previous high ($260+) in the next 12 months, possibly much sooner.
385  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: May 25, 2013, 02:32:11 PM
Yeah, I also sold all bitcoins today (all 1318) and set buy order at $27
Wow you're rich! Well, unless you mortgaged your house and bought 1318 BTC at $250...
386  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 25, 2013, 02:29:56 PM
Can you simply make my bitcoin (next to the crate) sparkle a little bit? Not too annoying or distracting.

Happy to tip Smiley

This may seem overboard, but I recreated your graphic from original images, then added some sparkles. The image you had wasn't really filling up the 80x80 space, and also I thought it could look a little cleaner.

Oh oh, just noticed you said "Not too annoying or distracting." Hmmm...

The envy of MySpace teens everywhere.

I have a night shift working, and I didn't even know it.
388  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How often do you check the price of Bitcoin? on: May 25, 2013, 01:33:23 AM
I realize, with less volatility, I'm checking the price much less often lately. I realized I hadn't looked since this morning (it's evening for me now).

How about everyone else?
389  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 25, 2013, 01:30:32 AM
I want a gif of someone standing under raining money

Well, not sure if this came out as exciting as one might hope, but I wanted to get you something before I sign off for today. BTW, it's an image I found of Max Keiser, and those are some Bitcoins falling... not that you can tell...

Please download the image if you want to use it.

Have a good day/night everyone...
390  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 25, 2013, 12:34:59 AM
I'd like for my current profile image to be used please.

Here's an animation based on your current profile image.

As I said to viboracecata, please download it and host it elsewhere (like upload it to bitcointalk), as it may not say on my site forever.

IronCross, yours is next!
391  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 24, 2013, 11:12:29 PM
I'd like jessica alba's strip dance for my profile Grin
Okay, I'm working on animated GIFs for all three of you. The easiest was to grab Jessica video and save as an animated GIF, so here's yours first:

Please download the GIF and host it where you want to, I'm not sure how long I'll leave keep it hosted on my site.

Enjoy!

I think the theory behind it is that if you can no longer mine them, you have to buy them. This increases the demand, driving up the price.

At least that's the theory behind it.

Thanks for your reply, that makes sense at a glance... But wait, you CAN still mine BTC, you just have to keep getting newer equipment to stay in front of the pack. I assume Moore's law will keep better mining equipment coming and coming (perhaps even at a steady cost), as the mining difficulty keeps increasing... So, I'm not sure I quite buy the simplicity of this theory. It seems more to me that the price of BTC will determine how much people want to invest in mining, rather than the other way around. My sense is the price is much more affected by many many issues that are unrelated to the newest mining equipment.

I'm speaking as someone who only only knows the very basics, and I have zero mining experience, so I'm happy to learn from those who think I'm seeing it incorrectly.

I think with ASIC the price will go up to $300 but not for at least 6 months.

I cannot conceptualize at all why there would be a relationship between market price of BTC and the efficacy of mining computers. Can you (or anyone) explain why you think ASICs will boost the price of Bitcoin (or lead me to post that explains it)?
394  Economy / Services / Re: Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 24, 2013, 12:51:40 AM
Hmmm, who to choose, who too chose...

Using Random.org to be absolutely fair, I've entered everyone who commented and randomly selected:

ironcross360!

In all seriousness, I'll try to make up something for you by tomorrow, thanks for your interest.

If anyone else is interested, please still feel free to comment.
395  Economy / Services / Want a Free, Custom, Animated GIF for BitcoinTalk.org? on: May 24, 2013, 12:07:02 AM

Hi,

I just created the above animated GIF for my profile. If you'd like me to create a free custom 3D animated GIF for you, let me know in a comment, and feel free to be specific if you have a particular request. I'll choose at least one person to make a custom GIF for (assuming at least one person is interested). If there's a lot of response, I'll try to make a few, as time permits.

Thanks!
396  Economy / Services / Now accepting Bitcoin for Print and/or Design Work on: May 20, 2013, 01:32:43 AM
Hello,

I'm a graphic designer and print seller with 25 years experience, and I've become a rather rabid Bitcoin enthusiast in the past few months. I have decided that my company will start accepting Bitcoin as payment, and I put together a website to help promote working with Bitcoiners:

print4bitcoin.com

Bitcoin developers, start-ups, and others in the community, I'd like to work with you. If you need design work, offset printing (business cards, brochures, etc.), digitally-printed signage (up to 48"x36"), motion graphics, or any other printing or design work, please take a look at the link and feel free to reach out to me. I've already completed a very successful rush project for a client getting ready for Bitcoin 2013 (my first ever job paid for in BTC!).

I have no clue if I'll have few or many hits from this reach out, it's a bit of an experiment to see if accepting Bitcoin (and trying to notify the community) has any effect on a getting new client.

Please note that I do get quite busy with very large projects at times, so I may not always have time for a large or rush project.

Thanks!
397  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. residents no more Dwolla + MtGox now what? on: May 17, 2013, 02:35:26 AM
Pretty sure I'll start using CampBX to get USD out when I sell BTC.

I just got (mostly) out of Gox by buying BTC and transferring it out. I can't help but assume a lot of people doing the same thing. I assume this exodus via Bitcoin would be boosting the Gox price a bit, vs. what it would be otherwise.

I'm a bit nervous about all the exchanges, though I don't know much about them. I'm hoping there will be some welcome announcements at Bitcoin Conference, maybe even a new, safer, better exchange.
398  Economy / Goods / Re: Safe Paper Wallet: Cold/offline storage for your bitcoin has never looked better on: May 17, 2013, 02:31:26 AM
The software will come in two forms, both multi-platform.

Sounds great, thanks for the info. Have fun and success at the conference!
399  Economy / Goods / Re: Safe Paper Wallet: Cold/offline storage for your bitcoin has never looked better on: May 16, 2013, 05:05:07 AM
The design is by bitcointalk user 75RTUGA.

This is one of 24 designs submitted and released to the public (CC-BY-SA) through a bounty. They are all available for free at openpaperwallet on github.

Just wait (Wednesday next week) till you see this printed on heavy, textured paper using linotype process and brilliant inks. It will be STUNNING.

It is very nice looking! I was planning to buy a pack, but just read that there's software that comes with the kit. Your site doesn't mention if a specific OS is necessary to run the software. Will the software work on my Mac?
400  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. residents no more Dwolla + MtGox now what? on: May 16, 2013, 12:00:34 AM
Huh? You sure about that direct bank wire thing? Last time I checked bank wire was a WITHDRAWAL method, not a deposit method.

Thanks, that was my impression too. I couldn't figure out any reasonable way to get US funds into BTC-e.

As for Dwolla being closed for Mt. Gox transfers, why not a bank transfer to Mt. Gox?
