(...), so question is...who's playing QB for the Broncos then, like literally who?

Hehe, they have very good options still Grin

Quote
Rapoport reported, per an informed source, that practice squad receiver Kendall Hinton is expected to play plenty at the position in light of the unique turn of events. Running back Royce Freeman, who is considered Denver's emergency QB, could also be involved in the gameplan, per Palmer.

An undrafted rookie out of Wake Forest, Hinton played QB during the first four of his five years in the program before switching to WR. His last meaningful snaps came in October 2017 against then No. 2 ranked Clemson. Hinton went 14-of-30 for 203 yards, two TDs and zero interceptions, and added 92 rushing yards on 24 carries in a 28-14 loss.

I was looking forward to bet against the Saints today, but will probably still do so just for the fun of it. Wildcat ftw^^

-

49ers will have to look for new practice facilities and a venue for their home games.

This is kind of getting out of hand and unfair competition to a certain extent by now. I watched Indiana vs Maryland yesterday in College football - the brother of Tua is QB at Maryland now - and Indiana was missing 14 players due to Covid and Maryland even 26 and couldn't practice properly. This is a big mess all in all Cheesy

382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 28, 2020, 10:44:04 PM
Well, Dortmund should really have gotten at least 1 point in the end, but Haaland missed an absolute sitter in the dying minutes. He makes it 999/1000, but not today. Cologne was defending well, but Dortmund was really super dominant - just one of those days.

I am not sure why, but I think one of the main reasons is coach Favre.

I think this is about experience, on-pitch-leadership and confidence. Each team in Bundesliga has these days, where nothing seems to go your way. The big teams have it like 5+ times per season, but Bayern only has it 2 times max per season. The rest of maybe some tight-ish games, they win with just pure will and the famous "mia san mia" mentality. Dortmund was not playing bad, but there was no aggressive leader who was taking the initiative and trying to force things. And this is - as I wrote before - a structural problem in Dortmund. Hummels and Witsel could be these guys, but they are too nice  and not made for this task in the end. Gladbach/Leipzig/Leverkusen miss these kind of players as well - players like Müller, Boateng, Neuer now or all the Schweinsteigers, Effenbergs, Matthäus' from the past. Players who can guide a team and its young players through difficult games and be a vocal leader on and off the pitch. And this also includes to tell the younger players to get their f****** act together.

Halftime:

Looking very good for JanpriX, buywaytress and leea-1334, though there seem to be two guys with 6 correct picks already - in total there are 16 users in the hunt. Two bigger upsets with Atalanta and Liverpool, but looks like 99% of participants had those wrong, so no harm done really.

Good luck for tomorrow, I am predicting a (co-)winner from this thread once again, but not sure who it will be. Maybe even someone from the 4-correct-group Wink

Es geht noch viel schlimmer!

Lisk

385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 28, 2020, 12:57:05 PM
it begins already times completely differently... Tongue
karlsruhe scored the 1:0 in the 7th minute - on the other side still enough time for paderborn to win the game

Yep, Murphy's law having its say again Grin Karlsruhe's lead is not undeserved, but still 45min to be played. Sandhausen is trailing as well....missed a penalty to make it 2-1 and got the 1-2 some minutes later, what can you do. Guess I will have to look for some GER1 bets already^^ Looks tempting to parlay Dortmund/Bayern/Gladbach/Leipzig, but I guess one of them will lay an egg. Probably Dortmund......

387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 28, 2020, 11:24:08 AM
Two picks from GER2 for me today.

Paderborn tb Karlsruhe @2.62

Paderborn is super hot right now, they have finally found their rhythm after relegating and are climbing the table. A win today will put them at 2nd place, which should be motivation enough. Karlsruhe had two impressive wins themselves lately, but only against poor Braunschweig/St. Pauli. Expected more like 2.20 for Paderborn.

Sandhausen tb Aue @2.44

Sandhausen sacked their coach this week and that is the main reason I am trying my luck with them. They have a pretty good squad on paper, but looks like the coach lost the team in the last weeks. Sandhausen is generally a very good home side, while Aue are traditionally poor travellers. Probably not too much value in these odds, but everything points to home win for me.

Here are the picks:

Welcome @metenjean and @Jack_Sin

Consensus found only for Liverpool, with Milan/Atalanta/Gladbach coming super close. For the other 11 games all outcomes were picked and there are some with no consensus at all, like Chelsea - Tottenham with 6-6-6.

As you know I always check, if we have two or more users having the exact same picks and normally we don't even come close. This week Avirunes and BitcoinHunt3r have 14 identical picks, just on Arsenal vs Wolves they couldn't agree Smiley

Good luck everyone Smiley

This nfc east is terrible.

I think it has actually gotten better in the last weeks with WAS/NYG improving a lot. Especially WAS is doing really good and who would have thought Alex Smith being the reason for that. He is the same old - kind of boring - game manager he always was, but it's just what they needed. It does not only help their offense, but maybe even more so their defense, which was already very good before. They now get way more rest with Smith being able to orchester long drives. Now it was just the Cowboys, but I was impressed with the Football Team yesterday.

The Giants progress is mainly due to the O-Line clicking better as a group, which brings me to this....

Dallas is simply awful this year.

....and how important a good O-Line is. Cowboys probably had the best O-Line in the NFL for years and they invested heavily in it. Prescott is a product of that, as is Zeke - both have their qualities, but they are nowhere near as good as the 5 big guys made them look. Dallas sacrificed their defense for it and it worked out ok-ish for them. Now this O-Line is in shambles, but they still have their bad defense Grin So this can't work out no more. Dalton at QB doesn't help, but everyone would struggle in Dallas atm.

Also, home field advantage is negligible this year for teams with empty stadiums

Well, there were quite some people at AT&T Stadium yesterday, but yes, I do still think that these empty-ish stadiums take away a good part of home field advantage. For NFL this is mainly the communication for the away team (fewer false start penalties f.e.), the refs being less biased and the cheering the home players don't get for their plays and which pumps them up. These young guys love the show and the attention they get Wink

But there is still a home advantage imo, because it's not all the about crowd, which we were discussing here. Playing at home - even without spectators - you still have the advantage of not having to travel, staying in your usual environment, being familiar with the facilities; in general the feeling of being at home basically.

Easy coupon this week.
Actually have a good feeling about this one.

I find this week extremely hard and I have a very bad feeling Grin Lots of matches that can go either way, which already shows in the picks we have made so far - and there is still a lot of guys missing.

AC Milan - ACF Fiorentina
Arsenal FC - Wolverhampton Wanderers FC
Atalanta BC - Hellas Verona
Bayer Leverkusen - Hertha BSC DRAW
Borussia Monchengladbach - Schalke 04
Brighton & Hove Albion FC - Liverpool FC
Chelsea FC - Tottenham Hotspur FC
Crystal Palace FC - Newcastle United FC DRAW
Everton FC - Leeds United
Real Sociedad - Villarreal CF DRAW
SSC Napoli - AS Roma DRAW
Sassuolo Calcio - Inter Milano DRAW
Southampton FC - Manchester United FC
Valencia CF - Atletico Madrid DRAW
Watford FC - Preston North End DRAW

Just 4 home wins and 7 draws, this can't work out Roll Eyes

If someone has still to make his picks, I would recommend the draw in Everton - Leeds game. This outcome is still missing and not super unlikely imo Wink

We guys are doing great.. It would be wonderful if we also maintain a stat of no. of rounds won by Bctalk members.

I will use another colour, if the user also won the overall MM. I have you for week 44 and mitchr4 for last week, but I don't remember when other users won, so would need some help (make a peep, if you won the MM in the last weeks)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone Smiley One of my favourite days every year, too bad we always get to see the Lions and Cowboys Grin

For first game I will just go with Houston ML, since they usually beat the teams they are supposed to beat. And this Lions team is nothing special, especially with all the injuriy trouble they still have on top of Stafford not being 100% with his thumb. Houston isn't super healthy themselves, but they have been doing ok-ish lately and had a tough schedule so far this season. We had the same matchup on Thanksgiving in 2012; it was the first TG game for Houston ever and they won it 34-31 after OT - I hope this time it will be less nerve-wrecking. I also like the under, but it's meh to play that.

Second game is a bit trickier (at least for me), since both teams seem to have found their groove with new QB's. HC being around a FG in this divisional matchup looks about right and I will stay away pre-match, though my gut feeling tells me, that WAS will win this in the end with Alex Smith having nice stats since he took over.

Anyone else thinks that Salzburg might be worth a shot against Bayern tonight? I see a draw tonight not completely impossible. Sure Bayern won the first match against Salzburg 6-2 but Salzburg wasn't as bad as that result would suggest. And Bayerns last league match against Bremen showed very good that they are vulnerable atm. The fact that Kimmich is missing was very noticable. If Salzburg adapts Bremens playstyle and doesn't play as agressive as in the previous match but trys to stand stable defensively they can try get some counter attacks.

Alternatively a bet on under 4.5 or even 3.5 goals might also be an option. As I said above, I think Salzburg has learned from their 6-2 defeat and will try to improve their defensive stability rather than pressing high.

They will have no choice but to play a lot of defense and wait for counter-attacks, because Bayern will be super dominant with lots of ball possession like always and play like 80% of the time in Salzburgs side of the pitch. The problem for Salzburg is, that taking a defensive approach is not in their DNA, they are an attacking team and always think offensively.

I too think that Salzburg has a shot at the upset, since they are doing very well against the big teams and in general in CL away games:

Source: https://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2020/11/25/europe/uefa-champions-league/fc-bayern-munchen/fc-red-bull-salzburg/3404021/

....suits their style very well.

On contrary to you I think we will see just as many goals as in first leg though Grin They won't prevent Bayern from scoring and I would think they themselves are able to score 2-3 as well. Then it's to be seen what the FT result will be. The Austrians are struggling a bit in domestic league lately....maybe they were just saving energies to crush Bayern today Cheesy

I hardly do well with multis. Never go to make more than 2 or 3,,, but I see some of you guys sharing boosted bets like all those Brazilians and makes me think I should go for at least the 5-multi sometimes.

Don't get trapped by these screenshots of big parlays winning Grin You can do them for fun, because they are actually fun, but for every winning one posted here, you have thousands of them losing. And the losing ones are not posted - because it would be kind of bad promotion^^ - which is of course fine, if you look from Sportsbet's point of view Wink

I've to admit even after last season I haven't followed Gladbach a lot, they seem to be doing really well though. Is it a coach thing or a team thing I wonder?

A lot of things have to click for clubs to come out of mediocrity and you need some luck as well I guess. Gladbach is one of the biggest clubs in Germany and they have fans all over the country like maybe only Bayern has (Dortmund got very popular nation-wide only since Kloppo took over in 2008). They always had the perfect conditions, but as in so many big clubs, there was lots of mismanagement since their glory days in the 1970's. The mastermind behind the rise of Gladbach today and establishing themselves as a top side in Bundesliga is Max Eberl though, if you ask me. He seems to have some natural talent and is very good in signing the correct coaches and players. And on top of that he is a very likeable guy Wink

This being said, Gladbach is still lacking in a lot of areas to be considered a very good european side, so 1.50 against Shakhtar is wrong and thus the bet against them today.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 25, 2020, 01:40:52 PM
Mönchengladbach - Shakhtar Donetsk -> Shakthar +1 @2.20

Odds for Gladbach are way too low imo and are probably a result of the first leg, where Ukrainians got humiliated. But they are a solid and experienced CL team, who have done quite good in away games in recent times, being undefeated in their last 5 - winning at Atalanta/Real, drawing at ManCity. Quality difference isn't that huge and it's not easy to get back-to-back wins in CL. Gladbach showed some signs of weakness in their last two games and I expect them to keep on struggling tonight. They might win - Donetsk has some injury trouble as well - but +1 gives us our money back in case of something like 1-0/2-1 etc. I would have expected more like 2-ish for the germans, lets see Roll Eyes
397  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoin & die Steuer - FAQ on: November 24, 2020, 06:44:56 PM
Danke voll!
Muss man steuern zahlen wenn man:

398  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoin & die Steuer - FAQ on: November 24, 2020, 06:31:00 PM
Muss man steuern zahlen wenn man:

399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Red Cards in Football and what they do to the odds and the outcome on: November 23, 2020, 10:08:43 PM
Good weekend for the red-carded teams. The lay next goal strategy would have worked very well. There were no red cards in first half, so we couldn't underline the lesson we learned two weeks ago.

England

Aston Villa - Brighton
Red Card: Brighton in 91st minute, score 1-2
Final Score: 1-2

Late red card, no impact.

Leeds - Arsenal
Red Card: Arsenal in 51st minute, score 0-0
Final Score: 0-0

Arsenal did very well with one man down and should maybe even be a bit disappointed with not getting all 3 points - the chances were there. But they were at least not conceding, which would have resulted in a profit in this one.

Spain

Eibar - Getafe
Red Card: Eibar in 88th minute, score 0-0
Final Score: 0-0

Late red card, no impact.

Italy

Udinese - Genoa
Red Card: Genoa in 97th minute, score 1-0
Final Score 1-0

Late red card, no impact.

Napoli - Milan
Red Card: Napoli in 65th minute, score 1-2
Final Score: 1-3

Napoli defended the 1-2 quite successful until 95th minute, when Milan scored the 1-3 in the end, which is kind of expected then (if Napoli isn't able to make it 2-2^^). Laying next goal Milan would have been a good bet, but this doesn't go green neither red.

Germany

Mönchengladbach - Augsburg
Red Card: Augsburg in 66th minute, score 1-0
Final Score: 1-1

Augsburg was able to score the equalizer as huge pre-match underdog and being one man down. The goal itself was a bit lucky, but doesn't matter, this would have been a super valuable spot.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 23, 2020, 08:33:59 PM
Yes. The poor outcome is my personal result and I think I need to rethink some things. But I find that many games last year were easier to bet.

What were your latest bets in Bundesliga ? Maybe we can figure out what went wrong Grin

Bundesliga and the other major football leagues are not easy to bet. If you are able to break-even with pre-match betting I would consider this already a success; but it's probably not worth the effort/work you put in (if you do Wink ). If you want to make profits, then you need to put in additional work, study the league, watch all games and a good gut feeling isn't too bad to have either. This takes quite some hours every week and most people are not willing or able to do it. You then just have to live with poorish results and not dwell on them - it's still fun and a lot of fun things cost money^^

I still think inplay is the only way to go in the big leagues.....
