382  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Gauging interest for USB Block Erupter Sales. on: July 27, 2013, 10:10:15 PM

Each USB is capable of running at 333 Mh/sec (without OC). Minimum Qty required to place order with ASICMINER : 1000.
At present, the USB's are priced at 1.00 BTC / USB . They are capable of mining only SHA 256 based coins.
The new pricing announcement is 0.6/USB. However, this pricing has not yet gone into effect.

I think i have mentioned above that they can mine any SHA 256 coins like PPCoin, Terracoin and others.

4 BTC (escrow through John K)
384  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Gauging interest for USB Block Erupter Sales. on: July 27, 2013, 03:35:14 PM
I don't think investing in the eruptors is a good idea.

Once all the ASICs are shipped, the diff is going above 80million easy. Even at 0.6BTC/eruptor price point, you can't make 0.6BTC back in a year.

Eruptors were fine to use in May-July. But, ordering now and using in Sept - Oct is of no use at all.

I partly agree. But as and when the btc price rises (which am sure it will because many will be out of mining arena), the alt coin prices will also increase.
These eruptors can definitely mine alt coins for atleast next 1 year.
385  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Gauging interest for USB Block Erupter Sales. on: July 27, 2013, 04:25:56 AM
As you are aware, ASICMINER USB block erupters are one of those novelty btc miners which any bitcoin newbie can afford to invest to experience the fun of mining btc or any alt coin without the need for heavy investment.

With the reduction of rates, I have had quite a lot of enquiries and so i thought i will throw this on the public forum to guage the interest of the members within the Indian sub forum towards USB Block erupters.

We have a number of Groups Buys happening here in USA with shipping within USA. I can buy it through one of them, then re-pack and ship to India through USPS or any other carrier of your choice with Tracking.

Payment method will primarily be BTC. But might be willing to accept Paypal / NEFT for bulk orders on a case to case basis.

Do post your views on this.

P.S : I can arrange for hosting of these as well.

This sounds very cool Sriram. Hope it works out well.

Thanks Benson.! Looks like a lot of them who want to get into mining arena are interested in these.
Hopefully i get enough inquiries or orders

Looks a lot more promising now when priced at 1 BTC.
i thought they reducing Price again?

Hi sir , can you Help Me to Buy that , i Need 6 Block Eruptor USB  ,

Yes. They reduced it to 0.6 BTC and if you have brought any recently paying 1 BTC, you will get a second ne (if interested) for only 0.1 btc.
The new pricing is not on sale yet, but will be soon.

There might be some group buys in India but if there is enough interest, then i can start one. I live in USA and i can get it faster than others and probably bulk ship it to India once a week or so.
388  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Help Me on: July 26, 2013, 12:37:36 PM
Dear all Senior Members
I want start bit mining but as i have read many thread in this fourm regarding this subject have some question in my mind.
1. BFL Doesnt ship the rig or it take too much time.
2. If i make rig with ati radeon card 7790 or other which you suggest then
 What is system requirement
How much the investment needed.
How much can i earn in a month.
is there any company in india where can i take bit mining rig i can go anywhere in india.
please help me

You will spend lesser by ordering a BFL and waiting for it. The returns from a 7790 will not really do anything much.
As of now, GPU's that have already recovered their worth can be used for alt-coins, etc.

But if cost effectiveness is not a concern, go ahead and rig yourself with them. They can still mine and they still do a decent job in large numbers.

If you don't want to wait, then order those small USB Block Erupters which hashes at 350 Mhash/sec.
Just plug it in to the USB port on your comp, run cgiminer and you are done.
They were being sold at 1 Btc. But now they further reduced the price to 0.6 BTC/each. They are available right now in the market in India as well.
If not, Let me know and i can ship you from USA

As Benson said, the is the easiest is BFL but again you are looking at 4 month delivery.
Or if you are investing heavily, then look for bitfury or KNCminer.
389  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Freelancers & Service Providers caution on: July 26, 2013, 02:49:42 AM
Yeah, the USD is in a good state right now, especially with talks of the Fed restricting printing of Bills.
This was the main news that caused the dip of the rupee. Unless the rupee goes into an open state currency or changes altogether, we may even see 600 Rs to a Dollar.

Hmm 600 INR / USD is little too much. I don't think that is practically possible. If it does, then Petrol will be around 1000/ltr because Oil imports are done in USD. RBI will have some restrictions in place like how they asked major gold retailers including reliance jewels to stop importing Gold for the next 6 months to balance the Rupee.

Nevertheless, my point remains the same. Obama is a well educated president. He knows what he is doing.
USD is in good state and will be for atleast another 6 months.
390  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: July 25, 2013, 09:41:46 PM
thanks for the tipp.
I will start doing this tomorrow, but the ethernet controller is definitely broken.
Is it okay, to increase the V of all my 3 blades up to 1.2V per chip?

Should be. what PSU are you using and are all the 3 blades powered through a single PSU.?
391  Local / India / Re: Any Upcoming Start-ups? on: July 25, 2013, 08:52:42 PM
Another shocker this week. SEC (SEC in USA = SEBI in India)

https://www.sec.gov/servlet/Satellite/News/PressRelease/Detail/PressRelease/1370539730583#.UfGMiI3VA3S

SEC charges a Texas guy of running a Bitcoin based ponzi scheme. If you read the full indictment, you will get to know some real and shocking facts. The US law is so vast that if they want to, they can charge anyone with something or the other felony.

and, here's the real kicker:

"Any investment in securities in the United states remains subject to the jurisdiction of the SEC regardless of whether the investment is made in U.S. dollars or a virtual currency. In particular, individuals selling investments are typically subject to federal or state licensing requirements."

Another part of the fact within US law that most of the exchanges oversee is that, according to US Law, it is not required that the servers, the company or the owner be a US citizen or a resident. If the exchange hosted in someother parts of the world does business with a US Resident / Citizen, then the business is liable for prosecution. Simply put, if they have any proof that funds as little as a single dollar has been moved to the exchange, then DOJ has the powers to prosecute and charge the owner of the business. (Some examples are Liberty reserve, megaupload etc etc)

This is one of the reasons, burnside (owner of BTCT exchange) has put forth a discussion to probably ban all traffic from United States.
resulting in such a huge dip in all the shares traded on BTCT exchange yesterday.

So if you are planning to start a exchange in India, make sure you take note of this. You need not be accepting fiat directly. Exchanges accepting only bitcoins also come under prosecution if any individual from US trades on your exchange. Startups from India should be extra careful because USA has an active extradition treaty with India.

Just my 2 cents.

More discussion about this can be found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261235.0
392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: July 25, 2013, 07:54:55 PM
somebody able to check this here?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262443.new#new

I am not sure if the problem dogie
"Hashrate turns to zero and all "x": Either the power module is broken or the whole blade has some problems. If you bought more than one blades. Try using other functional ones' power module to test if it becomes OK. If so please ask us to send you a new power module. If not, please return it back and we will send you a new one (we cover the shipping fee)."

matches with turning the blade to "clock: high" as I do.
Running my blades in "low" mode chips say: "OOOOOO...." turning them to high makes them all to "XXXXXXXXX..."

Kind regards;

Looks like the chips are not getting enough voltage.
Try increasing the voltage by turning the screws as mentioned in the image below. Please make sure that you are monitoring the voltage using the multimeter.
Keep it not more than 1.2 V

Also, if they are concerned of the exact fiat value, then i highly recommend using a payment processor something like bitpay which offers a guaranteed exchange rate.

However Bitpay cannot peg a value at INR sale rates, that may be a problem.

At this time, isn't USD a better currency to hold as compared to INR.?

USD not better at the moment, it is time to sale USD and buy into INR. Why, because RBI buying cheap rupees now, next, when they will have enough INR, they will drop usd and start buying cheap usd.  When central bank in any country playing such games Mercedes Benz Co selling a lot of cars and Mercedes India projecting great sales. These guy knows well how to read forex markets.

For any bank it is win win game, follow the leader.

Hmmm.. I don't think so PW. I disagree with you on this. I agree that RBI does have power to manipulate Indian forex market but very little as much as probably upto a Rupee / dollar.
Forex rates are beyond any central bank of a particular country. It is more of a supply and demand in the international market.

USD is getting stronger day by day because it is recouping from the recession. For instance, the unemployment rate has come down to a little over 7% from the 9.1% in June last year. People are findings jobs which means, they are making money which means USA is importing less and exporting more.
That being the reason, the demand for USD in the international market is increasing due to which it is appreciating.

The source of USD for India or RBI is through software & service exports from Software companies and Call Centers / BPO.
As of 12/Jul, RBI had a little over 252 Billion dollars worth of total foreign currency assets (http://rbidocs.rbi.org.in/rdocs/Wss/PDFs/02T_C190713F.pdf) out of which approximately 60 - 65% is always known to be USD.
Now if India wants to increase the value of INR, it can bring all US dollar holdings in to the market to exchange with INR / other currencies. If so US dollar falls suddenly to may be about 20 INR. If dollar drops to that low rate against INR, India can make more money with its exports. But in real India or any other country don't want to do this. Because if dollar drops, there will be much more problems. India will get less money for its forex holdings of 252 billion dollars. In addition in future it cannot export any goods to US as US dollar is so cheap, Indian companies cannot sell goods so cheap for export. ( no one is interested to sell their products for half rate) And call centers cannot sustain themselves paying salaries to their employees. Like wise Indian software companies cannot export goods to US for such a cheap rate.

With the impending USA immigration bill that is about to be passed in Senate by end of this year, most of the software companies and BPO market will come to their knees. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and TCS are highly worried about the bill.  Infact when U.S Secretary of state John Kerry visited India in June 2013, the main agenda of the meeting between him and the chamber of commerce was to discuss about the immigration bill.
If this happens, in turn RBI will be highly affected as it has to spend USD to import stuff to India however the USD income due to Software Service export will be highly reduced.

So in short, i would say that USD will stay or atleast hover close to 60 INR atleast until the Immigration bill is passed and everyone comes to know how it affects them. People including other countries are holding USD for now.

398  Local / India / Re: Any Upcoming Start-ups? on: July 17, 2013, 02:20:37 PM
Something cool that I had noticed in most other local communities is that they are ruthless in starting up.

No regulations, etc even matter at this stage apart form money conversion and even that has got several workarounds based on limits, etc.

If our community can get a bit more ruthless and enable/ support/ help any legit business that comes up, I am sure that we can grow way faster in India.

I partly agree with you here Benson. But again, once you start getting the volumes, if your startup is dependent on the banking infrastructure, then yes you have to start thinking about it well in advance.

If your startup can survive independent of the Indian authorities, then you don't even have to bother about the rules and regulations initially.
For instance, taking btc exchange as an example, other countries have some internationally accepted modes of payments like Online Fund Transfer abroad, ACH, WU and MG by which the exchange can flawlessly operate initially until the paperwork is completed. (example : buying and selling through coinbase exchange)

AFAIK, in India even paypal has to comply with RBI regulations and the payments received to that paypal account has to be withdrawn to the local bank at the end of everyday. That makes our situation a tad more diff than the start ups in other countries.
399  Local / India / Re: Any Upcoming Start-ups? on: July 17, 2013, 02:10:24 PM
Make sure to do your homework, just some days ago 22 banks got penalized by RBI for violating KYC norms.
http://in.finance.yahoo.com/news/rbi-penalises-22-banks-kyc-slips-183000847.html

Yes i was closely following on this topic. And RBI was ruthless. Nothing was confirmed and still a penalty was imposed.
400  Local / India / Re: Any Upcoming Start-ups? on: July 16, 2013, 01:39:03 PM

MtGox, the largest exchange, charges less than 0.60%

The volume that we are expecting is nothing in comparison to the volume that mtgox gets. Add to it the cost of setting up and running a MSB in India and the costs shoot up dramatically. With people charging 10-20% over mtgox rates in India, a commission anywhere near the 5% mark should come as a relief to many.

People advertise with mtgox + 10% but hardly anyone buys with those rates except the newbies.
Most of them offer to pay the rates based on btc-e.

Secondly, make sure you do your homework. buysellbitco.in is one of the guys to reachout to. he has been here for a while and had his share of troubles.

With the advantage that i have (dual citizenship of USA and INDIA), I also worked for a few months to start a legit exchange with its offices in both USA and India, spent money on lawyers and attorneys and finally on the verge of giving it up. Setting up the USA part is easy, but RBI rules and so rigid that there is hardly any allowance to squeeze something like bitcoin.

Word of advise : (1) do your homework on how your exchange should work (2) spend lots of time with your lawyers going through all the test cases. (3) make sure your platform is rock solid and hacker safe. (Pls note, anyone who understands how crypto currency works is himself a script kiddie hacker.)
(4) If you need help or get struck, reach out to the community.. there are some really nice people out here and we will definitely help you out.
