cool. my son's bday today and in a zoom now, but I will look into. What protects the seller from a bad actor buyer if they were to claim the item was never received or whatever excuse? The funds would just remain in escrow? If so, it would seem like it protects the buyer but increases risk to a seller. But probably there are mechanisms for this? Hi, and welcome As the seller, you can take photos of the items you are going to sell, to show the the buyer, and put all of the details in the escrow agreement. You could easily take a few pics or a video with your phone, with a time stamp, like a newspaper or something with today date, maybe also the current Bitcoin block number etc, there are many creative ways you can work this out. You can also video packing up the item and send all of this to the trusted escrow as evidence and proof you are sending what you are trying to sell. When you ship your item you will 100% want tracking - as protection for both for you as the seller and the escrow and/or receiver to follow where the package is and to confirm it was received (and possibly signed for if you choose that option) Alternatively you could ship your item to the trusted escrow who can inspect the item, as most of the trusted escrows on this forum have many years of expertise in inspecting and verifying high value items such as Bitbills and more. Then the trusted escrow can forward (ship) the item to the buyer and release funds to you upon confirmation of receipt. All of the previous comments posted are valid as well, (take a pic with todays date and your screename) etc. There are some very good trusted escrows here on the forum, and they can assist you much better than I. Why are these so "cheap?"
As far as I can tell most sales don't seem to include the fact that they include all bitcoin-forks since they were so early on the blockchain?
I'm not complaining as a buyer, but someday people will figure out these have value.

Another update: Refund has been made but has not confirmed. Was sent with a mere 10 sats / byte fee which is very low at the current moment. I have since created another transaction to "unstick" this at well over 200+ sats / byte. I will lose money as a result, but at this point, I don't care.
Why was the refund sent with such a blatantly low tx fee?? is this some sort of revenge on you not receiving your funds back properly in a timely manner? bad form! Well btc jumped 10% or so since your purchase and since your purchase was in usd but btc based one could argue you made $ no? Since btc increased after you paid and you got a refund? Cause he could have refunded you 1750 at current time and that would be less btc than you sent. That would probably have caused a riot tho Dont be an idiot |

I received a message from nonnakip this morning. I'm being told I need to wait until Friday for a refund as that's when the next distribution is made. This is 100% unacceptable. There is no reason to hold my funds for 1 more second, let alone make me wait until Friday. I could care less if it's inconvenient to do a separate transaction.... just do it.

What do any "club distributions" have to do with your BTC payment for an item that is missing from their shop? If there was no item received and you paid for an item that day, you should immediately get a refund in the same currency you paid for the missing product. You are not a "club member" and "distributions" are for the seats on nastyfans loaded coins if im not mistaken, and what does that have anything to do with with a gold coin you attempted to buy from a website shop that was not updated properly? This is NOT the way a shop runs, you paid, they did not deliver, you get a refund, am I missing something here? You dont and should not have to wait for some archaic distributions fund to return your payment? Your funds should have never gone into any distribution fund to begin with if it was not processed as a proper sale. What is happening with those distribution funds, are they earning some sort of interest? Why are they "locked up until Friday"? It is the fault of the site owner and operator, whether they are one and the same or not to manage the web store properly and rerun payments as soon as they are asked for, it is not your responsibility to succumb to some whackado system to receive your funds back. You should charge interest on the funds for every day they are not returned to you or file a complaint with the proper authorities if necessary. This is absurd! and I am shocked this is actually happening from a "trusted forum member" and treasurer? Bad Form! |
