381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Running a Bitcoin Node on: February 21, 2014, 04:26:09 PM
Why do nodes not get a cut of the fee? Without them there is no mining.

383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling on Satoshi Nakamoto on: February 20, 2014, 06:40:38 PM
Apparently I've been living under a rock lately. What's been hitting the fan in Tokyo?

A local celebrity Mark K. hit a fan, that flew in all the way from UK to get an autograph, with a coffee cup. Busted him wide open. Now there's a lawsuit pending..
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious proposal for a replacement non-profitable elected Bitcoin Foundation on: February 20, 2014, 03:36:56 PM
I agree that not allowing people with Bitcoin businesses to run for election is a silly idea as they are indeed the smartest within the community.

Conflict of interest.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition To Remove Mark Karpeles From The Bitcoin Foundation Board on: February 20, 2014, 03:33:57 PM

If someone comes into my home to take money that is mine I will shoot them.

If Mark took bitcoins that were mine I'd want to shoot him.

You need to start taking control because if you dont who will?

Kill a man over money? You're no better than Mark Kerpeles...
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious proposal to set up a new non-profitable elected Bitcoin Foundation on: February 20, 2014, 03:28:50 PM
Can you guarantee that the new foundation doesn't end up becoming a self-serving pile of crap like the current foundation?

No, you can't.

Say NO to foundations.

The Bitcoin network is in itself a foundation both literally and figuratively and doesn't need a third party to speak for it.
387  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox website down. Watch them disappear! on: February 20, 2014, 03:59:54 AM
Bitcoin wouldn't have reached $1000 as early as it did without Gox. Show some respect.
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevoss Twins Release Beta Bitcoin Price Index on: February 20, 2014, 03:54:48 AM
How do they figure the prices out? Localbitcoins are selling for $680 in my area. It is listed at $853 on the Winkdex.

It's called a coin PUMP...
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ebay ceo slips up and spills the beans on: February 20, 2014, 03:53:46 AM
When will people get it through their heads that Paypal is not a Bitcoin competitor...

Paypal is a middleman.

If they find a way to act as a middleman in the world of Bitcoin, they will surely jump on that opportunity.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks have no deposit atms, we do on: February 19, 2014, 06:33:42 PM
I only use online banks and there's no way to deposit cash. Bitcoin has finally improved this scenario. Not only can I deposit cash, the entire Bitcoin network is mine. No more looking for those logos.

I predict the big banks will die but the online banks will soon embrace us. All hail ING. They're awesome.
Where have you been for the last 5 years, nearly every bank in my area can take cash & check deposits directly into the ATM 24 hours a day.  Huh

Look at the man's avatar. They don't have these fancy new ATM's in the 1980's yet..
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires on: February 19, 2014, 04:16:56 PM
A millionaire? I'm pretty sure you need to have 1 million bitcoins to qualify as a millionaire.
There can be at most 21 bitcoin millionaires at any given time.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What bitcoin is for you ? on: February 18, 2014, 03:37:18 PM
Decentralized payment system. No more you have to ask middleman or authority if you can transfer wealth and telling what reason you doing the transfer for.

Miner = middleman
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on XE on: February 17, 2014, 07:12:18 PM
XE are still just using Gox rates and are currently telling the world that a bitcoin is $255.

Please join me in letting them know about some alternatives.

I'd probably be inclined to recommend this one at the moment:  http://www.coindesk.com/price/

But are there any other better alternatives?

The best alternative is always the highest priced, right?  Roll Eyes Way to pump a coin..
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A reusable paper wallet on: February 17, 2014, 03:02:11 PM
This is not a good approach. There is need to expose the private key ever.
I'd give you a suggestion but know you, I'm exploring a similar business idea myself...
395  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do I have to obtain from seller to get warranty? on: February 15, 2014, 03:17:51 PM
Hoping your not buying a GPU previously used for mining, a warranty won't help you...
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: PAYPAL STARTED MASSIVE ACCOUNT BAN ON ANYTHING BITCOIN RELATED on: February 15, 2014, 02:08:35 AM
I can see them cracking down on the digital currency but they have no right to block sales of any kind of hardware. stop spreading disinformation.

They have every right to make make up the rules on their own service...
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition To Remove Mark Karpeles From The Bitcoin Foundation Board on: February 14, 2014, 01:34:08 PM
You remove one and another will take his place..
398  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why bitcoin will fail on: February 14, 2014, 01:32:54 PM
It will fail due to greed before anything else. The technology behind is admirable. It's beautiful. The humans that it attracts.. not so much.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some greedy inviduals might have just blown our chance for MAINSTREAM adoption. on: February 14, 2014, 01:28:57 PM
I'm sure many on here can guess who those individuals are....

Standard Bank of South Africa is currently looking to integrate bitcoin into their banking network. Its the greatest news for the bitcoin community but i'm afraid someone have just blown that chance up. This wild swing market full of pigs will scare the executives away when they're evaluating bitcoin.

I was hoping our community would have seen a bigger picture and not be manipulated so easily.

I agree. Let the Bitcoin settle at around $1 per piece and stay there for a long time to show some stability.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of bitcoins are "hot"? on: February 14, 2014, 05:12:27 AM
Show me a provable way to identify a coin as 'hot' and I'll tell you how many there are.
