381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LIST - Projects with terrible initial distribution - highly manipulated schemes on: May 02, 2017, 08:26:06 PM
Interestingly enough traders/investors seem to not care about premine/instamine issue. People would back anything as long as they will be promised profits.
Both Golem and Dash are really successful projects - at least when we are talking about their marketcap and Gnosis is not so far behind these two.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin eventually kill Altcoin? on: May 02, 2017, 07:09:56 PM
Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.
This is not allway the case, market is not so simple. Sometimes traders sell off altcoins to purchase Bitcoin, that is why dip is created.
However it is usually temporary situation. In general, stronger Bitcoin = stronger altcoins

No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .
There always be some new altcoins created, because either: developers want to create something new and unique or they want to grab your money by creating another pump and dump altcoin.

Did the US dollar eventually kill the altdollars?
Dollar will eventually kill itself. Just wait and see.
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girl gets raided by police looking for bitcoins on: May 02, 2017, 05:40:36 PM
Before y'all start talking about how the state robbed someone of their Bitcoins, do some research.
You can obviously tell, just by reading the first comment, that something's fishy here:

OP is basically a drug drealer and police had every right to do what they did.

Then in this case it is totally different. This girl doesn't need to cry if she is related to drug activities ect. The one who can cry are the families victims of people like her selling death with drugs because a member family using drugs, or died because of drugs, ect
At first I was terrified that Police is hunting law abiding citizens without reason. But this additional info that this girl was dealing with drugs sheds more light into this matter.
Another stupid move was transferring €12.000 or some equally ridiculous high amount at once, and she probably did it many times before.
On more example that dealing with bitcoins is relatively safe, but dealing with 3rd party bitcoin services not so much.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we expect "average Joe" to remember passphrases to his Bitcoins? on: May 02, 2017, 04:27:32 PM
Solution for the "below average Joe": tattoo mirror image of password/passphrase/private key/whatever to left and right upper chest and either butt cheek in tiny text and camouflage within another tattoo. Multiple places in case of injury or medical procedure.
Interesting idea but IMO a tattoo is a bit overboard solution. Maybe it is worth when you either like tattoos in general, or have enormous amount of Bitcoin stored.
There is always a possibility that someone will learn about your tattoo and kidnap you just to read it and stole your coins. Why risk yourself like that?

I think as biometric security becomes better and more common place it will have a part in solving this problem. I do think the OP brings up a good point, though. It doesn't take much to scare the 'average joe' off.
The problem with this is trusting external company to manage your bio-security. Would you store your fingerprints online where someone could access it steal you biometric data?
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: May 01, 2017, 12:13:56 PM
Not ETH but ETC will see $100.
question is when?
Maybe by the time BTC reaches $1000 ? Jokes apart. There is a long way to go.As for now, there is no active participation from devs to take it whole another level.

as the guys mentioned above theres  really a time for that  and we wont  know when  it would reach that  price amount  and for sure it would really need  adoption  or users  in able to rise  that  on that amount  but  ETH would  x400  on that time.
ETH is dying bro.Get over it. (Don't mean to offend the followers but the recent fork news got me all depressed)
I love to comment on year old posts about price and conditions of bitcoin/altcoins. It shows that even the worst news (in this case an emergency fork after the DAO fail)
can be forgotten and life will go on. ETH not only didn't die but it is currently sitting pretty on ATH throne.

This topic is about price of ETC, and frankly I don't think this strain will be that much successful in the future. Sure it will survive, forever in shadow of ETH.

#Ethereum
Thanks for that short guide. I knew pretty much 95% of it already, but call me an ETH newbie and explain why:

"DO NOT send from an exchange account or hosted wallet. (You must control the private key)."

Why we can't use online wallet for playing on vDice, because of technical limitation of some sort or because of legal issues?

388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin is the most undervalued right now? (list) on: May 01, 2017, 11:32:45 AM
With few exceptions, why would anyone invest in altcoins that can only be traded with Bitcoin?
Altcoins have lower point of entry. You can have 80 LTC for the price of 1 BTC. Not imagine that you bought that LTC before news about SegWit hit us.
Price of LTC was stable at around $4 for years, not it is $16

Just remeber for markets to work, for everyone who's getting wealthy, there also has to be someone going broke.
100% agree, everything is connected - you will can find yourself broke much more often that anything, if you are not cautious with your trading/investing.

Remember this all still incredibly new and 100% completely unregulated. Most of you probably have cryptocurrency on a wallet just refusing to sell it because you just know the value will increase. Will it, will it really?
Bitcoin is around since 2009 and its history made me think that there is high chance for it to success. I am not trying to be paranoid about regulations or legislation.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bobby Lee - price target in 2020; after block halving: USD $5k-$11k on: April 30, 2017, 07:29:05 PM
That tweet is from February but yeah, if his prediction comes true it'd be very, very good for us. The next halving will to some extent make or break bitcoin imo.
It doesn't matter how old is this tweet really. Lee is talking about possible bitcoin's price at certain point in rather distant future.
Do you think that Bobby would say something totally different if he posted this tweet today or two month from now?

I can't wait to see all that angry people in the future when they will be crying that they didn't buy cheap BTC when the price was ~$1300. Smiley
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin is the most undervalued right now? (list) on: April 30, 2017, 07:22:34 PM
It's crazy that no one in this thread mentioned Golem so far. This coins will be used for something really good:
to create a supercomputer which will help in scientific research, big data analysis, machine learning.
The potential of this project is endless. This is the  reason Golem is 10th most valuable crypto now.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Equid coin is a scam??? on: April 30, 2017, 06:09:33 PM
I visited eQuid website and skimmed through a bit. I found this info, about system they will use to promote this coin:

What Account Reps Do
Account Rep First Steps

-Sign up as a rep in the directory
-Sign us to the Facebook group
-Sign up at Slack
-Sign up at Skype
-Connect with the google docs
-Start your social media and email campaign
-Start going to meetups with the presentation
-Start getting it out there however you can.
-Send in a list of new sign ups weekly with the pledge amounts
-Send in a list of pledge increases
-Send the total pledge amount of all your accounts
-Reach out to employees and vendors of the businesses you sign up
-Organize promotions with local businesses
-Sell your eQuid to local users who want to take advantage of the promotions
-If you like the idea of this but aren’t ready to commit yet please sign up to receive the email newsletter so you can watch our progress.

I would disregard every coin which is building awareness of the project in this way. Bitcoin didn't have any Account Reps...
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 29, 2017, 11:59:08 AM
You know who supported terrorists for many years, give them weapons, train them and helped them rise to power?
Our beloved Government of the United States, they created this whole mess and it is their fault that Middle East is a constant flash point.
And not the same people are telling us that Bitcoin/cryptocurrency is 'probably' used to support terrorists.
Would you trust people who spied on us, founded PRISM and god knows what other surveillance programs, to tell us that bitcoin is evil?
393  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: April 29, 2017, 11:53:15 AM
I think it will be $2000 in 6 months or less..
Technical indicators, which are usually not the best way to determine price trends of crypto, but we use them anyway, are pointing that we might see $1600 soon.

But I still belive that $2000 is a distant dream. I would be more inclined to believe that BTC price might crash to below $1000 - as it happened before, than reach $2000.

I said it before - current bull run has no solid ground, traders are hyped by the info that SEC will give ETF another shot. That's basically all.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gemini tops volume stats on: April 29, 2017, 11:46:08 AM
http://imgur.com/a/l9PEu

Last 24 hours gemini now hits top volume stats, is this anything other then they are taking finex customers?
Actually it is a good thing. Gemini is highly regulated exchange, probably the most secure and trustworthy US based crypto exchange as of now.
Gemini due to them being 100% compliant to BitLicense is ideal place to trade in times when other exchanges have legal issues.
Plus, obviously Winklevii are serious entrepreneurs, which is an additional asset.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone NOT made profit in this astonishing bull run?? on: April 29, 2017, 11:37:28 AM
HODL. Cryptocurrencies are so useful, that only $30 bln part of global financial market is a joke

This. Sure, we will have issues, drama, politics, manipulation but eventually none of the should matter.
Altcoins don't care about politics or legal regulations, they are so significant from the legal point of view.
There is no need for authorities to even acknowledge their existence. The main problem ofaltcoin is still (and forever will be) price manipulation.

Spoetniktard.
By the way where is Spoetnik, I haven't seen him around lately? Maybe I missed his posts...

News Update

News #1
A vDice interview - Cryptocurrencymagazine (CCM) in Japan. vDice is big in Japan and here we talk to one of our biggest fanbases.

http://cryptocurrencymagazine.com/vdice-new-game-interview
This interview is mostly about than new incoming game, which will be released in mid May. Unfortunately there is nothing specific said there.
Also we can learn that there is 10 developers involved in development and auditing of this new game project. I was expecting no more than 5 devs. Nice.
397  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin faces it's biggest threat in America on: April 29, 2017, 10:34:24 AM
I realize that net neutrality is in danger, but at the same time why ISP providers would target BTC if there is no plan to limit/restrict Bitcoin usage at all?
Even in case of censorship, you still be able to use VPN, right? In the worst case you will store your bitcoins online on blockchain.info or BTC.com and use VPN to access your wallet.

Also, why would you sell now when Bitcoin is at ATH?
You want to sell your coins exactly because it is at ATH. Sell high, rebuy later when price will drop.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin value going down on news of SegWit? on: April 27, 2017, 03:56:07 PM
Litecoin has never been a crypto of strong holders.

Most litecoiners sell at the first sign of red and can't hold their coin.

It has always been this way.
Good observation. I am sure that current holders of LTC realized that there is no need to hold litecoin anymore.
They earned a lot already, price rose from $4 to $14 during few weeks. How much it will realistically grow? Not much more I think.
Litecoin is losing momentum because it is time to sell LTC and join BTC hype train.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: April 27, 2017, 03:38:38 PM
Hey, I'm not complaining. Yeah, it's getting higher, but I feel it's suitable.

for miners to maintain their mining operation, +1. however, if the transaction time is more than 10~20 blocks before one confirmation after you have sent with a recommended fee, the fee is often unsuitable.
Miners don't need tx fees. They still have hefty block mining reward - which is backbone of theirs profits.
We need to be aware than in the past  tx fees were lower and price was lower as well.
It is quite ironic that in times when bitcoin price reached another ATH we have also the highest fees in the history.
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we see $1300 again? on: April 27, 2017, 03:15:33 PM

Infidels
Non believers
Feel ashamed!!!!!
Bifinex's price is totally manipulated that is why it is so high.

Unless this exchange will fix their banking problems, and USD wire transfers will be reactivated, until then BTC price there will be always higher than anywhere else.
I think that the stable price is around $1290-$1310 - Bitfinex's price is not sustainable - it will  crash very soon.
