Mining in flats is more of a hobby, most apartments don’t even charge for heat so you are wasting a resource there. I guess one benefit is drying your cloths with the heat, and saving on your electric there?
home owned mining you can have a decent sized farm and and get alot of benifit from solar since residential rates are high most places. Also u can have a heat pump water heater tap off some of that heat and save power and also dry your clothes

Long time miners have always know about summer vs winter rates, its typical

I have 6kW worth of solar panels on the roof. On nice warm summer days I can mine basically for free for some hours a day. The perfect combo is having double the solar of what you need to mine with and find a good way to store the excess energy to use it during the night. Batteries are the most common solution for this. However I saw a very interesting documentary on storing excess energy with inertia. Very cool stuff. In any case I have yet to just arrange something with my home automation so that my miners start/stop depending on the watts I produce. Just haven't had time to get to it. Of course solar panels is great solution if you reside in own house. But what to do in city flats? Unfortunatelly mining profitability now is closer and closer to the electricity cost. Though in winter mining rig can produce some useful heat  |

Only a single gpu is running on my gaming PC powered by 600w platinum psu . GPU power consumption is locked at 200W . Total energy consumption of the system is 410w , so it's not a problem
Looks really strange... I try to suppose the following: 200W is enough low power limit for GTX1080ti with typical PL at 250W. So what is your OC settings and working core\memory clocks? Maybe try to reduce OC or increase PL to 220W or more |

Got a problem with new 0.6 version and1080ti. Win 10 system reboots in a specific scenario : 1) miner is running on 210.9 algo (I don't try on other algo's , so it maybe unimportant detail) on a full load 2)miner is closed and new miner with --intensity 2 option is executed 3) --intensity 2 miner is closed and full load miner is executed ===> system reboot  previous 0.5 version worked without errors , does it make sense to try other --intensity parameters? There is a lack of info. What is your rig configuration? What hardware espessially PSU and number of GPUs? Would you check power consumption of the GPU? NVSMI tool will help .... 2)miner is closed and new miner with --intensity 2 option is executed ....

It's typical "overclock" error. Reduce core clock at first. +200 is too much. Rare GPUs can work at +200 core clock especially at enough low PL |

It's also possible. I don't exclude anything. But for me selling now is unacceptable. I hold BTX from Dec'2017. Could I fix the loss and rebuy at lower levels? Of course, yes. is the mining software able to send a power limit to the gpu? or can the miner execute an nvidiainspector command line? I want to change my OC settings based on pool difficulty. i just want to change powerlimit as diff goes up and down
It's very specific feature. The most users don't need that. Because of profitability of these actions is enough disputable. But you can create your own VB script that will analyze console output of the miner and will correct GPU setting by nv-smi cli tool |

I don't think you should seriously think like this. BTC will raise to the Moon soon, late this year or early next year. take it easy and you will feel better. It would great if it will so. However acording to the previous pump-dump periods on BTC the downtrend continues about 1.5 years then 1-year flat (it could be enough wide but it is still flat) and only after that we will see real growth (after the next BTC halving, surprisingly  ) I would not sell my BTX below 50 USD and in the best case I wait 100+ USD per BTX. But the time of BTX rising is few years not a several month. I think. |
