381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] bitereum - Simply bitcoin on ethereum - ICO is now open! on: April 10, 2017, 03:56:08 AM
id like to see the contract code for both the tokens (you can verify and publish your code, not just bytecode and opcodes at the etherscan page for your token: https://etherscan.io/address/0xb4b47e3dd06b5418ec3e5f3e52f72fffce5a9e68#code) and for the "mining contract" that you intend to release, or at least some mechanism as to how you plan to simulate mining using a smart contract on the EVM.

you are a little short on details here, and as a token contract hoping for investors to what is likely a simple ERC20 token. how will your mining contract interact with the token contract? where is your github repo?

you have a good idea, but presently you havent shown any details whatsoever on how you want to get where you are going, or even what it is, exactly, that you are trying to build. if you are hoping to set up mining similar to bitcoin's minting curve, then you should choose a smaller ICO release of currency, in the 1,000,000 range at most, and build your contract to simulate conditions of mining to perpetuate release of timed "block rewards" off of the remaining amount, which would need to be set to zero ownership past the premined ICO offering, to prevent anyone (including you or your development team) from simply taking the tokens before they are minted. to make a currency like that fair you would have to remove yourself from ownership past your intiial release, and then participate equally in the decentralized "pseudo-mining" process along with everyone else.

presently, you have zero roadmap and no plan. your tokens are built, id put away the ICO until you have an idea behind how to create a smart contract to simulate  mining on the EVM and then release again with some code behind you. otherwise, you are setting yourself up for a situation where you cant deliver and you have a lot of angry people after you because they have lost money on your project ICO.

honestly, with the way you are set up now, i cant see you getting many takers. build a team and an idea behind "BITEREUM", justify its use and existence and you will have much more luck in getting your project off the ground. i wish you the best of luck, as smart contracts are fulfilling and frustrating usually at the very same time.

....and on the subject of bittrex.....

just as a reminder, especially as we approach the changeover to Homestead compliance, to make sure you take whatever SOIL you have remaining on bittrex off the exchange as soon as possible. they will be updating the wallet to ver.1.4.4 but theres no guarantee they get to it before the fork, meaning that any coins sent out from the bittrex wallets AFTERWARDS could get lost in the great unknown with all those ETH that got mined to 0x0000000000000000000 that first day....

regarding SIOLcoin relisting on bittrex:

ive been waiting in my open conversation with julian yap for about a week, hes the guy who processes the coin additions on bittrex, aside from his other positins with cryptocurrency projects elsewhere. hes generally dealing with between 25-50 coin listing requests at any one time, so it WILL be a waiting game for us to be relisted on bittrex. i will admit to getting frustrated, and wrote to @bittrex-bill, the founder of the company, because it was taking so long to get any responses from julian. im not normally the lose my patience type, but ive been working very hard to convince bittrex to relist SOIL, and it began to feel like i was simply repeatedly running myself headfirst into a brick wall.

bill basically told me that they dont generally say no to many projects, but that they wont announce, even to me, that theyre listing it until its reset on the exchange.

"so basically, the fact that its not on the exchange just means its not on right now but might be in the future"

if you want to speed things along, as before, get on slack.bittrex.com and tell them that. tag @bittrex-julian and @bittrex-bill and let them know you are an active trader on bittrex, and that you want SOIL back on the market. send them a tweet @BittrexExchange and @richiela and let them know that SOIL is BACK and better than ever.

dont just pop in and ask them to relist SOIL and pop back out. they want to see an involved community that is supporting the project. there truly is only so much that a developer CAN do to get a project listed, and my time away due to health reasons is a mark against me. they have been informed as to our new development team, and the protection of shared credentials for the [ANN] thread and social media presences (apart from the facebook group which is attached to my personal facebook account) but overall they want the community to let them know how badly they want the listing on bittrex again.

ive had a few people promise to build up decent buy walls when do get listed, and would like to take one moment to remind everyone that the order book from bittrex was deleted upon delisting, and that while valuation at close of exchange may have represented the state of the project at that time, i feel we have reinvigorated SOIL in the past few weeks with small steady improvements and work. in other words, when we do get listed (and be sure to follow richie from bittrex as he is generally the first to tweet about the market inclusion with a cute little pun) dont feel beholden to your positions on the previous market wall. when we were sitting at 5000 satoshi, people were still saying we were a grossly undervalued project. our close at 78 satoshi was a rough one, but theres no reason to reopen ANY market with that valuation haunting us.

as usual, i wont take any position on the market, only to put up a first trade when i do get informed of the market opening to initiate the trade book if its not already done.

i hope to get our social media presences more up-to-date, but am concentrating on finding a market for SOILcoin in the first and foremost. hope everyones weekend is going great!

385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Quixotic | Hackathon | Contracts on: April 08, 2017, 11:14:36 PM
so, our update to the gsoil platform takes us from ver 1.3.3 of Go up to ver 1.3.5

this brings us  into the Ethereum Homestead Protocols.

a number of changes are made to our platform with these changes, which were introduced to the Ethereum mainnet after much testing. ill try to be brief about them, but want to describe some of how they change our ecosystem....

for the Homestead release, two major changes are introduced:

EIP#7: EVM opcode DELEGATECALL has been introduced at 0xf4.  similar in idea to CALLCODE, except that it "propagates the sender and value from the parent scope to the child scope",  making it more straightforward for a contract to store another address as a mutable source of code and ''pass through'' calls to it, as the child code would execute essentially the same but with reduced gas costs. this will make reusable standard libraries more accessible and operational.

EIP#2: Consensus rules changes
-the gas cost for deploying contracts via a transaction is increased from 21000 to 53000 (0.00103000 SOIL)
-block difficulty adjustment algorithm has changed to

Code:
block_diff = parent_diff + parent_diff // 2048 * max(1 - (block_timestamp - parent_timestamp) // 10, -99) + int(2**((block.number // 100000) - 2))

or basically, if blocktimes over the last 2 blocks are < 10 seconds, the difficulty is increased by parent_diff // 2048 * 1. if they are winthing the 11-19 second range, difficulty will remain unchanged. if blocktimes are > 10 seconds, the difficulty is lowered proportional to the timestamp difference, from parent_diff // 2048 * -1 to a max downward adjustment of parent_diff // 2048 * -99 The cap of -99 simply serves to ensure that the difficulty does not fall extremely far if two blocks happen to be very far apart in time due to a client security bug or other black-swan issue, but the promotion behind this algorithm was an eventual mathematecal impossibility of block times exceeding 24 seconds.

the second part of the algorithm int(2**((block.number // 100000) - 2)) is the so-called "difficulty bomb". which increases, exponentially, the average difficulty for mining a block every 100,000 blocks. this was put in place essentially as a motivation to push the network towards a Proof of Stake consensus engine.

according to the documentation for the Homestead release this change guarantees to keep block time in the 10-20 range, which has been a problem for SOILcoin when the network is hit with a mining farm. the previous difficulty adjustment was very vigorous in increasing difficulty to respond to increases of hashing power on the system, but was GLACIALLY slow in decreasing block difficulty.

i think this is one of the most important changes to our protocols, while we work our code up towards compatibility with the UBQ Flux Difficulty Algorithm which looks further back in the chain to ensure a more rapid response to hashrate dynamics. this should set our block times roughly in sync with the Ethereum networks block times,

*On chain version update notifications

Much like Ethereum, we have deployed an oracle contract to the network which holds the current version of gSOIL with the release hash.  Its goal is to allow gSOIL to check for new releases automatically without the need to consult a central repository. It currently recognizes ver 1.3.3 as the most uptodate client, and this will be updated (manually) with each new protocol release (i.e. at block #2,000,000 our version will be set to 1.3.5 and at block #2,000,100 our version number will be set at 1.4.4, although this is NOT ver 1.4.4 per the Ethereum releases). This contract will emit a notice informing you if there's a new client available.

New releases will be signed off by 1 current signer (@abvhiael) to be accepted by the oracle and users be notified of the client version change. I would prefer, in the interest of decentralization, to promote two further signatories to this contract, and to make it a 2-of-3 signature condition for published notices. Please contact me if you want to be added to this. NOTE, this contract does not push any automatic upgrades to your gsoil cient, it only displays a small CLI notification to the user when an update to the client is available.

This contract is live on the SOILnet at 0x17080970C7A6beBa2AFB95c7985B975cAF3fF33C.
The full contract ABI is available on my github page: https://gist.github.com/abvhiael/9b14842d38e5ed3637f3518507c12882
And a reduced ABI that just contains the list of signers and the current release version is also available: https://gist.github.com/abvhiael/bfa42bd5b9a4a6aba9fc29b98c8a5e12

marty is working step by step in upgrading our protocols towards where Ethereum's platform is at today, and there are many changes in the works with those protocol changes. marty is doing a fantastic job with these changes and hopefully the community will reward him for his efforts as he brings us closer to being up-to-date with Ethereum (currently at ver 1.5.9)

im off to watch the hockey game and then ill do a write up on changes to our SOILsafe GUI wallet and development tool.

386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Quixotic | Hackathon | Contracts on: April 08, 2017, 08:54:26 PM
Thanks to marty, step by step we have been updating our blockchain protocols against what ethereum is running, and as of block 2,000,000 we will be adjusting over to Homestead, as was set in the previous release of gsoil.  we have also decided to increase the block reward to 3 SOIL per block as of block number 2,000,100 to boost the liquidity of the project and hopefully bring more miners on board when we can find a centralized market for representation.

the most up to date repository for our protocol releases is marty's github repository:

https://github.com/martymcfly2015/go-soil/releases

this brings our code up to ver. 1.4.4 of the ETH protocols (they are presently running ver 1.5.9 and building SOIL up to that protocol is a step by step process)

marty has also updated our SOILsafe GUI wallet package based on MIST

https://github.com/martymcfly2015/go-soil/releases/tag/0.5.3

we will update the OP with the new links and i will have an article regarding the changes this makes to our protocols and capabilities.

appreciate the work marty's put in to upgrading our blockchain?
tip him!

387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Tattoocoin & Tattoocoin Ltd. Ed. - Running on Twin Chain - First Time Ever! on: April 06, 2017, 05:48:59 PM
i wanted to say thank you to the developers for the bounty as being the first tattoo studio to accept tattoocoin as a mode of payment for services. im excited about this project and cant wait to see how its influence increases. ill be loading up some paper cold wallets as part of my marketing idea, and will post the github repo for everyone when ive got them smooth. its set so that any other shop can put their logo on the top fold and has other ways for customization. im also going to carry the tattoocoin sig forward, and because im invested in this project, even should a paying sig campaign start, i wont accept payment for promoting tattoocoin in that manner. this project will be part of my business model going forward with thINK studios, and look forward to developments such as an android wallet or tattoo supply marketplace to buy grips, needles, ink, caps, those stupid grommets that always go missing....

im a huge proponent of full disclosure and transparency, so the tx id for the  bounty paid to me is 9bc6f54a15ae2120c3e45abd7fecdc5d63cdd8442d97b1cc44006074ff9f42c1

my staking wallet (TNqMxyVcEtFG3xPSPtnFaaFsAX2swdx7ss) will maintain its balance, other than setting up some cold paper wallets, im going to be staking this currency into the future, and make oath that i wont be dumping any of this on the markets. i believe in the longterm viability of this project, and even with difficulties communicating with the developer early on, theyve shown a responsiveness to community needs, and are doing everything right. i applaud the innovations they are making, and honestly cant wait to see what else is in store for this project.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Quixotic | Hackathon | Contracts on: April 05, 2017, 08:48:48 PM
Ok, how can I help?
I think ethereum need more diversity, well established crypto currencies like SOIL can have their fair slice of ethereum volume and I don't get it why corporations and exchanges hate agriculture so much. SOIL can be a dogecoin of ethereum.

well, the easiest thing to do right now is help get SOIL relisted on the exchanges. bittrex will relist us, but theyd like to see more community demand. the easiest way to get your voice heard there is on their slack channel (slack.bittrex.com) and by messaging bittrex-bill and bittrex-julian (who is also one of the devs behind Ubiq, whos excellent Flux Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm will become a very important part of the SOILcoin blockchain parameters going forward past Homestead on block 2,000,000)

cryptopia would be another great exchange to get on, and especially thanks to their stand AGAINST ethereum and the DAO rollback. i made the same arguments when the crisis was ongoing, and believe wholeheartedly in teh immutability of the blockchain. ive made a support ticket request there with as much detail as i could, and will be writing up an [ANN] thread this evening on their forum pages, in hopes of introducing SOIL to that community and building some support.

if you want to really get your hands dirty, we can always use help within the core development circle, we could really use a social media guru who >GETS IT< cause i sure as hades dont. theres lots of projects to build on the blockchain and not enough hours in a decade to get them all done. you dont need to be a superguru blockchain prodigy, i didnt have much of an idea about how the system ran when i came on board as community director in the first days of the project, and have since learned solidity and serpent and have fallen in love with smart contracts, and perhaps thats EXACTLY what SOILcoin needs, and SHOULD be.

grassroots cryptocurrency. the realization of SIMPLE decentralization. butting the ideal of the technology and how it can benefit the planet before worrying about how it can simply benefit the pocketbook.

now,, i dont think big corp hates agriculture, its one of the fastest growing industries escpecially in terms of precision automation. projects juch as the MIT co-lab's FOOD COMPUTER could be run autonomously or remotely via the SOIL blockchain with a lasting ledger of referrence for the system to perfect conditions from... transactiv's micro grid solar electricity project would fit on SOIL, with our preceptive direction, like a glove.

if you want to get overinvolved and obsess over this project 60+ hours a week for little to no pay, drop me a PM!

but we are making some updates soon

i expect it will be ok within the day

Hang on , no sweat your coins are safe .

theyve got the tattoocoin wallet back up and running again. the announcement at the top of the page states that theyre adding nodes for lots of currencies, to expect more maintenance issues than usual.  will you be requesting the addition of TLE to poswallet? you know youve got my daily vote to push it thru and ive got enough POSW on the site to buy ten votes for you, a drop in proverbial bucket, but withthe attention this project will start to get, wouldnt take long to fill up the 1000 votes and be listed there within a week or two.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Tattoocoin & Tattoocoin Ltd. Ed. - Running on Twin Chain - First Time Ever! on: April 05, 2017, 12:50:22 AM
im proud to announce that my tattoo shop, thINK tattoo studio, in sydney, nova scotia is officially accepting tattoocoin as a means of payment for services. ive been working with jewelettes and tattoodev over the last week, hammering out the details. we arent a large scale tattoo parlour, but we put thru an average of ten to fifteen customers a week, and i spend a LOT of time working on the custom work.  i do believe that this is really only the beginning for this project reaching wide scale real-world acceptance. ive been involved in cryptocurrency for several years, and am one of the lead developers of SOILcoin, so i truly appreciate the innovations that this development team is pursuing, especially the dual-currency blockchain. that opens up the door to a thousand possibilities down the road, not only for TATO but in other corners of the altcoin ecosystem.

ive been tattooing professionally for about 7 years, after going thru an apprenticeship through an old army buddy, first in windsor, nova scotia and then presently in sydney, nova scotia. jewelettes, part of the tattoo team, wanted me to post some pictures for the "tattoocoin accepted here" sign in the shop window, some examples of ink we've done here over the past.

as a shop owner, as well as a cryptocurrency enthusiast, i was quite excited by the project when i first came across it. not only is it proof of stake, which for someone with a crappy oldish computer like mine, is the way to go, but it brought in to the sphere my dayjob. with the project im involved with, the challenge has long been to find ways to make it something of value in the real world, and im sure that in many instances, getting other shop owners to accept tattoocoin is going to be an uphill battle, but ill be doing whatever i can in talking with my customers and with other shop owners to introduce them to the idea.

one of the ways ive been bringing it up is describing buying tattoocoin like having a savings account for your ink. i had a client in last week, put down a deposit on a full upper arm, and was wondering if she could push the appointment date for the work another month back so shed be able to put aside enough to pay for the whole thing on the day its done. naturally, a bill had come up and robbing peter to pay paul, she took 60 bucks out of the tattoo-jar. she'd been putting in 50 bucks from every paycheque, plus some of her tips but... i walked her through the diea of tattoocoin, describing it as a savings account with REALLY GOOD INTEREST. how not only does her balance grow just by leaving it in there, the underlying value of the currency itself was likely to grow because of the work being done by the team behind the project. she was gonna come back this week and get me to help her through buying her first bitcoin (which is really the stumbling block against adoption of crypto as a whole) and buying tattoocoin with it, setting up a wallet on her laptop, etc.

im directing clients to poswallet as well, theyre putting so much work into that project that i believe its going to stick around for a long time. makes it super easy for them to make the transfer from their TATO wallet to mine that way as well. it will be nice when an android (and apple as well) wallet is built. ive had the DISpleasure trying to build SOILs android wallet, which only works on older phones like my sons huawaiia phone, and workd perfect, but wont do a damn thing on more up to date devices. first foray in, i was just glad it sorta worked, so i have the utmost respect for whom builds tattoocoin's android wallet.

one thing ive been planning to do with the first shop bounty that jewellettes and tattoodev have agreed to is to build out some paper (cold) wallets, filled with 5 bucks or 10 bucks or so, to use as promotional material (like a coupon i suppose) and bring in new customers, or even to provide as an ersatz gift card. once ive got them built out (ive set up the layout so that another shop can simply take thINKs logo out and have theirs displayed along the top fold. (makes a face) wonder if theres an origami crane paper wallet layout out there somewhere?

anyhow, a few photos, as dev requested. want to say thanks for getting this project on the go, for providing a bridge between two of my worlds, and i hope that thINK studios and tattoocoin have a long a mutually beneficial future together.

closeup showing the tattoocoin accepted here sign. the mail lady asked about that this afternoon, but got that "nerd glaze alert" look in her eyes as soon as i mentioned digital currency. she's been talking about getting a tattoo for a few weeks though, so i mentioned how using tattoocoin would be cheaper because to promote its use im offering to honour 25% above its valuation at time of sale for purchases made with tattoocoin. (laughs) shoulda mentioned that above too i suppose

our tattoo space. this is a dedicated area off the back of the house, it actually does have its own entrance, but no one uses it except to let the dog out inthe evening. overall, twelve foot by ten for room. ive got a fold-down chair that was meant as a massage chair sorta thing that we use for backs and lgs and whatnots, but its a pain in the ass to maneuver around normally. we're planning on expanding the shop space to the whole of the first floor of the building, but slow renos have made that a waiting game. fun note: i love the imgur random page name generated for this.

391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Quixotic | Hackathon | Contracts on: April 03, 2017, 01:22:32 AM
Is there any difference between etherium and SOIL?

i didnt really respond to this part of your question the other day, and id like to now. ethereum, as a blockchain, is a great thing, the technology is something absolutely incredible. and i think thats why theres been a lot of new ETH-based clones popping up recently, Ubiq, Uther, Elementerum, etc. And its wonderful to see people leveraging the open source smart-blockchain for other purposes.

BUT.

ethereum is becoming more and more centralized, and the acrimony between the Ethereum Core and Ethereum Classic groups is still ridiculous politics that hampers the ubiquitous growth of the overall ecosystem. ethereum is becoming more and more... well... CORPORATIONALIZED. look at the ethereum enterprise initiative, the backers and funders of this are the same people that have controlled and centralized policy surrounding banking for years, and in the end, ETH level smart-blockchain technology in that arena is going to become very privatized, centralized, controlled and censored, etc.

SOILcoin is and will remain an independent blockchain. i believe we can leverage many of the smart contract suites that are built on ethereum, and repurpose them towards a more humanitarian purpose. i believe SOILcoin can be an evironmental hub, and that what we can build may one day be a benefit to humanity. i dont take a wage from this. there are no corporations putting money in my pocket. im dedicated to SOILcoin because i believe in the PROMISE of the EVM.

i know that much of what i envision is several years ahead f where technology is today. and the challenge is to biuld up in small ways that can scale out to the larger applications. im not working on SOILcoin to get rich. i wish it COULD make me rich, i wont lie. i live on a small pension and paying bills every month is a challenge. i dont have a fancy mining farm churning massive ammounts of hashing power against the system, in fact for some reason my computer just hates GPU mining, and i do run CPU mining on the system, but i never find a block.

im constantly looking into what we CAN build on SOIL. how to make it more accessible. i wasnt a coder or a programmer when i came on board the project, but i learned solidity and serpent, i spent more hours than i can count, many of them banging my head on the desk, deploying projects like SOILex and figuring out how to run and maintain the BTCrelay. im still constantly looking at contracts and platforms, seeing how they work and how we can use them to build a more accessible and robust currency.

but we're small. we're the underdog. we're not the cryptocurrency of the guys who want to dazzle you at conferences with big promises and justifying a take home pay of thousands of dollars in pay every month. we're the guys who want to build programs to design more efficient wind or solar farms, or to utilize the power of the blockchain to fuel climate prediction, or to provide a platform with reliable uptime and low costs to run those autonomous conditions on a precision-farming agricultural business, or a decentralized library of sustainable and renewable agriculture.

Maybe we could ask Manfred Karrer to add soil to bitsquare.
https://bitsquare.io/
https://forum.bitsquare.io/t/how-to-add-your-favorite-altcoin/46

they seem like a decent exchange. can you do the address validation requirements? or copy/paste me the code params and ill send of a req to them. with the weather holding over next week (supposedly) there shouldnt be any snow days for me to have to contend with and i should have the website finally completed. speaking with julien from bittrex over the afternoon and hopefully will have positive news coming out of that.

HONOUR YOUR BOUNTIES.
TREAT YOUR COMMUNITY WITH RESPECT.
DONT BE A DOUCHEBAG.

those are the rules that every cryptocurrency developer should adhere to. this group has failed on all three counts.

my tattoocoin wallet: TNqMxyVcEtFG3xPSPtnFaaFsAX2swdx7ss
i look forward to you grabbing a clue and posting the bounty today.

Hi.

Sorry that I have not read this one early on.

Thank you so much for your interest in TATO. The whole team will look into this situation. The whole team has not taken back the promised bounties, we are just side-tracked with the development and has to place other important things for later.

I'm happy to be dealing with a crypto-knowledgeable guy and I'm sure that you are very much aware of the various schemes that were used by scammers who are getting smarter by the day so we have drafted a very stringent guidelines in awarding the bounties. And that includes online presence. But that is just one of the categories that we are looking into. The lead dev has been swarmed by scammy claims so I hope you understand why he has been quite over-cautious when it comes to things like these.

Rest assured that what you submitted as proofs would be fairly and thoroughly reviewed. The dev has bigger plans for TATO. He won't let the tattoo supporters down.

ive responded to your requests via PM. i do hope we can find common ground to work on as i do think this project can be a success, but not with the present situation how tattoodev treats a community member, or how they change the rules after the fact or, as is the case with his response to my public complaint, edit it after the fact, even though i quoted his less than civil and very insultive all caps reply. working WITH the community, and not accusing them of trying to scam the system, is the way to ensure a positive response from a generally very quick-to-flight cryptocurrency community. acting out and insulting not only a member of the community but a person who literally represents the target audience of the project will leave a very bad taste in ANY potential investors mouth. i posted my request for the bounty in good faith. i was not treated with the same in response, and that has nothing to do with the technology or the project, i thas to do with how one communicates, how one handles the community at large and in that regard, tattoodev has failed miserably. i hope that you can talk some sense into him, because i can actually do a lot of good for the project, as evidenced by the number of ideas ive come up with, with the time and effort i put in to not only interacting with the community contests (the logo contest which was announced would have THREE WINNERS share 500k TATO, but only one winner was announced... again the dev promises one thing and does another... there were only FOUR entries and only one announced winner... )

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A NEW LOGO FOR ''TATTOOCOIN ACCEPTED HERE'' PLEASE COMMUNITY START TO DESIGN AND POST 3 FINALISTS WILL SHARE 500000 TATO'S

ive built paper wallets for tattoocoin with my shop logo on the front fold as part of a marketing scheme, (because obviously in todays day and age, being an artist who gets by on word of mouth and reputation isnt good enough) and have discussed how to get tattoocoin with clients and other artists already. this was all done in expectation of the developer keeping good on ANY of his posted bounty promises, but so far, two separate bounties i should have qualified for (unless my submission was truly the absolute worst of the four) and nothing coming forth. thats not the way to conduct business in a forum when everything you say can be quoted and you rely on teh community to invest in your project or for the industry to accept it as a legitamate project and put THEIR repuations behind accepting it as a currency.

I'VE EXPLAINED YOU MANY TIMES BY PM THAT YOUR ''SHOP'' IS NOT ELEGIBLE FOR THE BOUTY:
I NOT A SHOP- THAT FACEBOOK PAGE IS CREATED,JUST TO GRAB THE BOUNTY ,AND IS NOT ELEGBLE,YOU CAN KEEP ON FUDDING AS MUCH AS YOU WANT .
REGARDS

i simply built a storefront to legitimize things. i posted the photos of my work dating back SEVEN YEARS. i posted remarks to my own currencys thread (which i provided you the link to) from august of last year literally complaining about the fact i was doing tattoos for my bread and butter business rather than working on crypto. ive been a tattoo artist for nearly a decade, if you count the four years i worked for angel kiss tattoos as my "apprenticeship". ive got a sign in my window. it shouldnt matter WHERE a shop PHYSICALLY IS. it should matter that yu have an established artist who is willing to work with your project and actually had some good ideas to help move both of our businesses along. i kept my problem with you in PM until today out of respect and the fact that this sort of situation can completely do in a cryptocurrency project. the public will NOT trust you as a developer while you remain an anonymous entity, a newbie, and a backpeddler. you posted that you had a ten million tattoocoin bounty for the first shop to accept TATO as a fungible currency for services. you posted this in MANY forums. then you back tracked from that, as opaquely as possible, to .5 BTC worth of tattoocoin, which is still a decent bounty, especially asi have plans not to sell it but to use it as a marketing tool. thats still, what... a little over a million TATO. THEN you state that you arent even offering the bounty anymore.

all in the space of a couple weeks.

how are any of the "delegates" supposed to trust that you will onour paying them monthly wages equal to .5BTC as you quoted to me?

this is NOT fudding. this is airing a grievance with you in a public forum after you proved intractable in our two weeks discussions in private. i wouldve preferred to have kept this private and to have found common ground, as ive offered you many times, but at the end of the day, as a developer, its my responsibility to inform the public that MIGHT invest in your currency that you do not hold true to your word and are not a development that is trustworthy.

ive staked my reputation here, as a senior member, as a respected developer... to bring this out in the open. i still make claim to the bounty as you advertised it. you have the opportunity to make good, publicly. you have the chance to show that your project is worth investing in. you have the chance to show OTHER ARTISTS that you are someone they can work with. because i can pump your project, and its specific positive uses to this industry, on many of the tattoo industry forums i belong to... and im a damn WIZARD with language and pushing a vision (have a look at SOILcoins [ANN] compared to any other currencys.) and i can convince people to use it, or to avoid it  like the plague.

prove to ME that you are worth marketing. prove to all of us that you stand by your words and honor the bounty. you can say my STOREFRONT on facebook is too new, but ive offered you links to each and every photo posted there, from MY PROFILE, that prove ive been working as a tattoo artist for at least 7 years.

what it is is that you just dont want to pay your bounties that you advertised, and thats bad business. so if by spreading this message to every forum you have advertised on and replying to every facebook posting mentioning tattoocoin and every twitter post is FUDDING, then so be it. this not even a month old project needs a little fear uncertainty and doubt raised regarding its practices. and im speaking as both a tattoo artist AND as a developer. your attitude is EXACTLY why so many people distrust cryptocurrency.

now, ive already advertised that ill accept tattoocoin and i wont back down on that as i AM a man of my word. ive even offered to honour the valuation +33% to promote its adoption. ill still expect a bounty for that as the first shop, regardless of size (you shouldve been a LITTLE more specific and clear about things) that accepts tattoocoin. ill still promote it, if you do the right thing and respect the rest of the cryptocurrency community and honor your own words.

show us all that you guys developing this, anonymously, are worth our attention and our money.

i must admit that i was quite excited about this project when i first came across it. as a tattoo artist with a studio, and as an independent cryptocurrency and dApp developer myself (SOILcoin), i was engaged at the idea of being able to merge two sectors of my life that had zero connection.

i quickly wrote to the developer of this project, especially after noting the bounty program the developers had announced here on bitcointalk and on their main tattoocoin forum and others. i could quickly see ways to implement this into my business:

Quote
We have a  100.000.000 million budget  TATO reserved for promotion purposes this year 2017;we're looking for tattoo studios/parlors to join the project.
1st one will be rewarded with 10 mln TATO
1st tattoo 1 mln TATO for the artist, and 1 mln TATO for the user.

so, naturally, i wrote the devs, asking to claim the first shop accepting TATO bounty. now, i didnt have much of a web presence, to be fair. my work over the last five years, since i finished my apprenticeship at angel kiss tattoos in sackville, nova scotia, has been spread by word of mouth. ive got a decent customer base, doing probably 20 tattoos a week, so a small sign in the front window of the porch advertising thINK Studios was enough. ive got a dedicated room set up at the back of the house for doing my work, its not a fancy set up but its sterile and bright and does the trick.

when the devs asked about my official presence lacking, i built a facebook storefront presence, uploaded what i could easily find from my facebook photo alums over the last 7 years (maybe 10-15% of the work done during that period) [https://www.facebook.com/THINKtattoos2/]

i made request to the devs to gain the bounty as the first shop officially accepting Tattoocoin, even made a banner for the "Tattoocon accepted here" contest, printed it and hung it in my window. ive discussed HOW to pay with crypto with my clients, even without an effective android app for Tattoocoin yet, by getting them to buy BTC, deposit it at an exchange and buy TATO, then ship it over to poswallet.com to make it easier to get to when the time came.. explained it away as sort of a savings account for their next ink, one that pays interest. "its easy enough to say im gonna set 40 bucks aside for my next tat, but then something comes up, and then yuir back to zero again, whereas this isnt locked in by any means, you can set cash into TATO and gain interest as well as the probability the valuation of TATO will increase over the next few months" is how i explained it.

i also set up an extension on my computer to print off paper wallets for TATO (being a scrypt based coin it was simple) with my studio logo on the top fold. i was going to use these, generally set with 5 or 10 bucks worth of TATO to hand out at the local atlantic canaa tattoo conventions, to generate both business forme and interest in this project.

the dev for this project, an anonymous newbie account naturally, decided to change the rules halfway thru. now it wasnt th advertised 10 million TATO he had offered, now it was .5BTC worth of TATO. still a good enough bit to get myself started with using this platform to help advertise myself. well, i guess because im a home based business, i dont qualify. then the excuse was that i opened my facebook storefront just recently, so i was disqualified because there was no way to prove i was a tattoo artist at all. i offered my complaint on the SOILcoin thread here on bitcointalk back last august, long before Tattocoin was conceived, where i apologized for  not getting as much done as i could in the past few weeks because i was stuck doing my bread and butter job as a tattoo artist. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1176709.msg15805593#msg15805593)

NOW. im informed the dev team doesnt even have the money to cover their original promises. he now claims they "dont have that bounty any more" in private correspondence. BYUT if i were to act as a delegate (which a few others here have agreed to as well) that he'd pay me .5 BTC a mont for marketing TATO locally. my question is, if a develper cant be trusted to honour their posted bounties, hw can they be trusted to pay a wage to employees that equals that bounty?

is this simply disorganization, dissemination and lies or simple developer inexperience? or a combination of all three? all i know is that as a cryptocurrency developer you have to honour your committtments and not make excuses not to honour them. and as a tattoo artist, with the casual disregard and bullshit ive dealt with with this developer, i cant see this projet going ANYWHERE. no studio wil accept TATO when the person they deal with cant keep his story straight. i deal with tattoo artists daily, and have talked to a few of them about TATO, and theyve been interested, but its been the "lets wait and see how it works for YOU first, eh?" approach.

ive offered to livestream the first tattoo paid for with TATO, ive made a ton of offers and broached some excellent strategies to this developer. as an artist with a studio, as small as it is, i feel that having made the public announcement that my shop will accept Tattoocoin, i should be intitled to the bounty AS IT ORIGINALLY STOOD. anything else and this developer is simply playing games.

you need the trust of your ommunity to make a cryptocurrency work. this project has completely lost my trust right now. if they make good, i can bring a lot of artists to th table and make this, at least locally in atlantic canada, a very workable project. OR i can post to all the tattoo industry forums i know and warn everyone away from this project.

if you make a committment in a statement on these forums, as a developer, you should keep your word. if you dont think honouring your statements is important, how can ANY OF US trust a single thing you say?? especially since you are a newbie account with NO history to back you up. me, ive ben active, and a developer, for almost two years. everyone who wants to, knows my real name and contact details because i believe in utmost transparency with regards to cryptocurrency development.

the vague promises, and the recursive bounty promises here show that this team really doesnt have a damn clue what theyre doing community wise. since i discovered TATO, ive purchased about 35,000 and have been holding them. not a big wallet, no, but ill be dumping it if i dont get satisfaction, and i will be making sure all and every know that this developer cannot be trusted.

HONOUR YOUR BOUNTIES.
TREAT YOUR COMMUNITY WITH RESPECT.
DONT BE A DOUCHEBAG.

those are the rules that every cryptocurrency developer should adhere to. this group has failed on all three counts.

i look forward to you grabbing a clue and posting the bounty today.

So, it's POW or POS coin at the moment? Is there any difference between etherium and SOIL?

as with any ethereum based blockchain, we are presently utilizing a POW protocol for blockchain velocity. ive been watching the work towards Casper on ETH and as soon as it is feasible, we will be switching to a POS mechanism. we will have to discuss our distribution curve at that point, as POS interest rates have to be high enough to encourage people to hold but not so high that ridiculous daily amounts of minted currency that everyone just dumps constantly pushing our valuation lower than it is now. id prefer to offer something akin to 35% APR, meaning that essentially it takes two years for an untouched balance to double.

Hi,

any news on the relisting on Bittrex?

@abvhiael: is it feasible to implement the mechanism from Ubiq to prevent attacks - until ETH POS is ready?

i think thats going to be our best bet for forking onto homestead is to implement the UBQ protocol on our blockchain as well. as for bittrex, ive sent them mail wondering whats happening with my enhanced account. ive sent in my documentation twice, so hopefully ritchie clears that up this week and we can get relisted.

In setting up the new SOILcoin website (which will be uploaded to soilcoin.altervista.org temporarily until i can figure out how to dump the whole package on the registered cryptosoil.com website) Ive had the chance to start looking into how to increase both our avaliability and our presence.

To that end Ive launched our chatroom on Telegram. (https://t.me/SOILcoin) There are lots of "bots" being developed on Telegram and is someting that we should take advantage of. Ive noted that Zcash has a Wallet bot running on Telegram, for instance... and there are lots of games which we might adapt for usage with SOIL currency. Ill leave it running on my desktop and cellphone if anyone ever needs to get ahold of me desperately right now sorta thing.

Ive also JUST BARELY STARTED figuring out how to set up our own forum, where Ill keep copies of our user guides, FAQs, etc. as well as open discussions for mining, community issues, announcements, etc. So far, the task of SETTING UP the subboards looks like its going to take a fresher brain than I have this evening, but as soon as I have it set up, we will have fresh discussion board available at soilcoin.forumotion.com I'l update the OP with those links as soon as im able.

My aim is to bring SOILcoin and our project more out into the public awareness as much as possible, and hope that these small steps along the way assist us in that.

End of 2017 is quiet a while to go with POW, is there another option to secure the blockchain as to not getting hijacked by a 51% attack?

Possible solution:
https://github.com/ubiq/go-ubiq/releases/tag/v1.5.10

i love the name of their difficulty algorithm adjustment: the "flux difficulty algorithm". i havent had the time to compare their blockchain protocols to ethereums to understand what they mean, as his explanation states tat both of their algorithms look at the previous block times to prevent spikes and valleys in block difficulty, nless the flux algorithm is looking beyond just the last block? it sounds like a good solution to blocktime issues, and preventing ice ages, but it wont prevent 51%+ attacks on te blockchain. thats measured in hashing power against the system, which is simply attracting more miners to the system, or finding a way to have more official Core Dev mining power against the system. i cant help much in the mining, i have an... adequate... desktop computer with onboard graphics that SUCK. and an issue therein that gives me nothing but grief trying to fire up ethminer. i DO keep my CPU mining going overnight but thats a drop in the bucket, bandwidth wise. i DO look forward to when SOILcoin can be run with a hybrid POW/POS workload, that i think prevents centralization by either mining farms or whale wallets from having control of the system. i dont think that our current POW scheme is perfect, but it was what was available to work with on an ethereum based blockchain when we launched our mainnet less than two months after ETH.

i havent had the chance to really dig too deep into how Ubiq is running, or how that diff algo is working for them, have you been following the project? maybe reach out to them and see how its working for them. what sort of stress tests have they experienced? with a STABLE and responsive difficulty adjustment set, and the retargetting rules naturally set in homestead, i think we may find a better tuned blockchain that may allow some competitiveness for big-data-crunching application development.

i should be done our new web site by tonite. god willing. between march break and suddenly everybodys friend wants a tattoo with a long soulful detailed consultation beforehand...
