381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mixers, anonymisers and bitcoin obfuscators on: February 29, 2016, 01:19:12 AM
I hope we are not helping money laundry here with these mixers. I don't use these services.
382  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: February 29, 2016, 01:10:36 AM
I think 1BTC = $1000000 (= 10 ounce gold for example)  is possible in the future.
We speaking about dollar, a currency controlled (and issued) by the US...
Think an hyperinflation.

Maybe we can forget about the hyperinflation... Could we measure value using food, for example a loaf of bread (of a certain weight)? Let say 1BTC = 100 loaves of bread in 2016, how many will it worth in 2026?
383  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I'm newbie, what bitcoin buy/sell is best to use? on: February 29, 2016, 01:05:47 AM
So far the most reliable to me is still Coinbase. It used to support paper wallet import but no longer doing that.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One question nobody is asking... on: February 29, 2016, 01:04:25 AM
I think this is indeed an issue that any digital currency will need some sort of connectivities to work. Like what have been discussed, many companies are working on this with ideas such as wifi drones.

Let's look at the telephone network- just 100 years ago not many people has even heard of it... But now it is everywhere... This is just like the blocksize debate that, with time will solve itself.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever said: "Waiting on a confirmation" to anyone? on: February 28, 2016, 05:47:41 PM
Yes, I told my wife... She asked me to sleep early...

Maybe increasing block size will decrease miners profit?

Is he hinting that he is "employed" by some miners??
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: any bitcoin wallet that pay interest for keeping money? on: February 28, 2016, 05:43:30 PM

388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin search volume on Google on: February 28, 2016, 05:42:13 PM
if you wanna get really scared just run the same procedure for the chinese word for bitcoin (比特币),
the picture you are seeing describes how small the bitcoin world really is

i think all bitcoin users should google bticoin at least 3 times a day so we can have yet another great graph we can impress people with

I think most bitcoiners would have bookmarked their favorite sites and do not need to go through google search... for me I will just type the URL directly as I have already remembered them...
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: I sold at the right moment :) on: February 28, 2016, 05:39:13 PM
Did anyone else make a quick hundred bucks? I sold when bitcoin touched $440, and I rebought a few minutes later when the price hit $420. Free monies!

Good for you... but there is no guarantee that you will be able to make profit every time...
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin prices jump to $600+ in... on: February 28, 2016, 05:38:12 PM
I voted July 16, but I think it will take even longer...
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How police think about Bitcoin enthusiasts ? on: February 28, 2016, 05:37:25 PM
In my town, I don't think the police even know what bitcoin is. Maybe they will just take it as a online token in a few years time... There is no law/regulation on bitcoin here...
392  Economy / Economics / Re: If you hold 1 BTC you are a pioneer on: February 28, 2016, 05:34:49 PM
I am almost there, 1 BTC milestone... but personally I think one should have at least 100 BTC to be a pioneer...
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: question about wallets that use a different recieveing adress each time on: February 28, 2016, 05:31:37 PM

how your coins pool together.

Coins never pool together.  Each output that you receive is listed separately as an input when it is used in a transaction. Even if you use a wallet that always uses the same receiving address, each output that you receive at that address is still tracked separately and individually listed as inputs when they are later spent.

But are they considered pooled together after forwarding all the output to second address then to the third address as single output?
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is sending to 1111111111111111111114oLvT2? on: February 28, 2016, 05:27:56 PM
I assumed that someone generated it, ended up with a private key and then declared it destroyed.

You start by generating the private key.

Then you calculate the public bitcoin address from that private key.

The results of that calculation are completely unpredictable, so for any given private key the resulting address will be one of 2160 possible bitcoin addresses, and which address it will be is completely unknown until you calculate it.

So, if you start by wanting a specific address, all you can do is keep trying different private keys and see if the resulting bitcoin addresses match the address that you want.  Since each private key has a 1 in 2160 chance of being the address that you want, you have a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000684% chance of finding the private key for that specific address each time you try.

You have a better chance of winning a major national lottery (such as the PowerBall in the U.S.) multiple times in a row than you do of starting with a specific desired bitcoin address and stumbling on the correct private key in your lifetime.

I agree. I don't think the private key was/is/will ever be generated. The chance is basically 0.
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Support Bitcoin. Let the network become distributed again on: February 28, 2016, 05:21:38 PM
I am using a public internet access without port forwarding 8333. Anyway I can still contribute to the network? I am considering running 24/7 if possible.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin invest on: February 28, 2016, 05:17:05 PM
i know bitcoin itself is already an investment but i have 3 bitcoin sitting around and I'm looking for a quick 5% flip any idea??

So far there is no known safe way to earn quick 5%... Most sites are scams. Maybe you should just exercise your judgement and take part in BTC trading? No guarantee for return and there is risk of losing your coins as well...
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's help change the world with bitcoin on: February 28, 2016, 05:14:37 PM

Sci-hub - Sci-hub . io - Breaking borders (and paywalls) in scientific research, dubbed the "PirateBay of Scientific Journals." Basically a huge library for everyone to get around paywalls for scientific articles.

Anymore, guys?

This is really a double edged sword to me... On one hand, I think scientific research finding should be freely available to everyone; on the other hand, if the publishers make it "free for everyone", there will be no earning for them and there is no "incentives" for them to engage the best reviewers and may eventually lead to a drop in quality. Scientific publications are already plagued by publications generated from non-reproducible false/fake data...
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the maximum amount you keep at a single exchange on: February 27, 2016, 07:25:33 AM
For me, not more than 1 BTC for 1 week; not more than 0.5 BTC for 1 month.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is 2016 the Year Russia Legalizes Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2016, 07:23:53 AM
Quote Wikipedia - "Russia - As of January 2015, a bill explicitly banning bitcoins does not exist in Russia, although it appears a de facto ban is in place."

Doesn't this mean that Bitcoin is already legal in Russia?

Legalizes Bitcoin = Regulates Bitcoin.

What if Russia can't regulate bitcoin? ==> "Illegalizes" bitcoin??
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oops Price is 425$ Now... on: February 24, 2016, 03:35:18 PM
There will continue to go up and down, due to trading... however, the trend long term will definitely be increasing!
