381  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you feel about high-profile traders making wrong calls ? on: February 21, 2024, 06:38:43 PM
It's true that some people can actually be referred to as professional traders, but that doesn't mean they can't make the wrong call in trading. I don't usually feel any how, or should I say, I don't have any specific way I feel about any experienced trader that faces lose in their trade. The reason is because trading is kind of a skill that someone can adopt all the measures that can help them become successful traders, but the crypto market itself is so dynamic that even an expert cannot use their professional trading skill to know the market direction all the time.

In the life of a human, mistakes are inevitable, so don't ever feel that professional crypto traders or crypto experts are not supposed to experience fail trades because there is no one who cannot experience fail trades.
There are no professional or well-experienced high profile traders that can go against an unpredictable market. Yes, they can be exceptionally good with their skills and trading strategies but it cannot guarantee that they will keep winning on the market, or they will keep taking an edge over market’s volatility. That makes the market more risky to trade, and trading itself becomes riskier. Hence, we cannot tell that some can be excuse from losses because they have huge funds, or they are highly professional and high profile traders. Trading involves both winning and losing, and while others are profiting from their trades, some traders are expected to fail and lose their funds.

So tomorrow Gilas vs Hongkong

In Feb 25, Gilas vs Chinese Taipei ( this will in our country)

Haven't seen the betting odds of this fight yet.

We will see the betting odds tomorrow. I checked with my bookie now, but I only see the odds for the "FIBA Americup Qualifiers." Perhaps this event is not so popular, which is why it's still not available. Let's be patient and wait until tomorrow. Hopefully, we can provide an update here, so those willing to bet but unable to find where to risk their money can get an idea.

With coach Tim, I think he will be utilize with both Japeth and JMF mentoring him it will be easy for him to developed that good blend to his teammates, just a matter of how they will create a good system for him, as he's a two-way player, he can protect the rim and bring decent numbers of rebounds plus his capability to score when he got a good looks to take the shot.
It's a different coach, so we might see a different outcome in his performance. FIBA Asia isn't as competitive as the FIBA World Cup. Kai Sotto has played in different countries and on different leagues. I believe he has a lot to offer, but he hasn't been discovered or utilized to his full potential yet.

I agree that it's a timely manner to show his matureness, just like what you said, there are highlights from the previous league that he's playing where he already showing good numbers which is very important to build his confidence.

We will all be seeing how they will execute all those hard works during their practice, I believe that the game will help them and teach them how to work and play as one.

And as we look at his physical looks, he is still young. As long as he stays healthy, he will keep improving. The good thing for him is that he has been given a lot of opportunities to play in a competitive league. Now, with the FIBA Asia Qualifier, if he is up for a challenge, he will step up here.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 21, 2024, 12:31:19 PM
I do agree, the coach is the first head to roll if teams are not looking good, except maybe in the case of Adrian Griffin, has a winning record with the Bucks, but still he was fired from his position.

So yeah, there's no security tenure for this coach, and it's like they really have to live day by day coaching and making the team great. And there are cases too that players might have demanded the management to fire this coach and hire a new one.
I know of someone who did that, and it was LeBron James. He was the reason why Coach David Blatt was fired despite having a good record. LeBron was criticized for that, but it turns out it was a good decision, as in that season, they won a championship under Coach Ty Lue. Also, there was a rumor before that LeBron wanted Coach Spoelstra to get fired, but the management didn't agree, and that caused LeBron to go back to Cleveland.

That's how big the influence of a superstar like him is. He won't be called King James for no reason, so you've got to accept the reality that a player could dictate the management of a team, especially in deciding who to hire as a coach, especially with the quality of LeBron, who is a special player.

A team could hire a different coach, as there are many coaches out there. They can learn to improve their coaching skills, but a player like LeBron already possesses that talent since he was still young.
384  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 20, 2024, 11:59:29 PM

So guys, is increase in minimum wage not a good measure to fight inflation. Let's have your opinion.

No definitely not, but it would also help people to catch up with the constant increase in price of goods and necessities in the market. However, these may have consequences that would cause the prices in the market to increase further more after learning the wages have increased, as the merchants, business owners, and companies might put a price increase with their products to supplement the increase of wage/salary to their employees.
Fighting inflation is mostly with the governments side of job that involves the central bank. It is their job to avoid these rapid inflation, not with the people or with business owners.
Let’s just accept that inflation is here to stay. And even if that is a job of the government to beat this inflation, it’s undeniable that we are the ones suffering the most. So asking for a minimum wage increase can help a lot to ease our sufferings financially and emotionally. That’s the least a government can do to help us even if we all know that inflation will stay for good probably.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need more influencial women in crypto to help the gender embrace it? on: February 20, 2024, 10:56:15 PM
I feel all of that is unnecessary op because crypto is already pretty popular around the world and people(male or female) will join if they want to. Also, you don't just need many influential people in the world of crypto.

More commoners need to invest in the crypto world for it to properly go mainstream if you think about it.

I got your point. But we all know how people are easily influenced when they see VIP and notable women get engaged into a certain thing that they will try to follow the same thing especially if those influential women are already successful and profitable in their investments. So imagine if these public figures are into crypto, surely a lot of women will be curious about it and discover the potentials of crypto eventually. Yes, that would be unnecessary like what you’ve said since crypto is already becoming mainstream, but having these influential women around can help boost the promotion of crypto easier and faster.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: February 20, 2024, 01:44:48 PM

I had taught Pacquiao had retired from active boxing but it's really interesting to know he's back in the rings again,  fighting wit Mayweather is just the best bet to get the kind of audience he may be wanting and they are definitely going to make a good revenue from the view a d audience this match will attract, I know somehow both of them may have an agreement back stage and there will definitely be intentions behind this game but nevertheless it's an anticipation for so many because the last time both had a fight years ago, it was epic and a rematch is something people wouldn't want to miss.

I would just watch to enjoy the game and wouldn't be supporting or routing for any of them because both brings home entertainment with their boxing and this match to me is looking like it's got a reason behind which isn't made known to the public just yet so watching for entertainment would be the best bet.
He retired from pro boxing, and this one is just an exhibition match, so it doesn't affect his record or Mayweather's record. Mayweather will remain undefeated even if he loses, as it's not a professional bout. I think this is a trend for popular boxers. It's not surprising to see them in exhibition matches because even if they are out of the pro scene, exhibition matches can still generate a lot of money for them. In fact, some exhibition matches generate more money compared to professional boxing.

About Manny being unable to participate in the Olympics, it's quite disappointing. However, it's puzzling why they would try to hype that when they were already aware of the age limit. They may have given false hope.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 20, 2024, 01:08:34 PM
I think JMF can play, but they are giving him a rest since they know they are capable of beating those two teams. JMF and AJ Edu were crucial during their Asian Games championship run, but now they won't be playing, and instead, Japeth will be on the court. While Japeth may not contribute as much on points, he can still be reliable in terms of defense, even if he isn't the same as before. However, with Tim Cone as the coach, I trust him to make the most out of this lineup and be successful in these two games.

He was forced to play during the finals as they needed him. But this one might be too physical since there are lots of big guys, and he doesn't want to risk himself playing not at 100%. JMF has a lot of injury history already, and he is better when he is fully healthy, like as healthy as he was when they won a championship in the Asian Games. Honestly, I think Edu is more effective, but since he is also out, other bigs should step up, and hopefully, Japeth will turn back the time.
388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im looking for funded traders to trade with my capital on: February 19, 2024, 11:55:39 PM
To be honest, I have a hard time understanding the author of the topic. He claims that he can trade and at the same time writes that he needs someone who will trade according to his instructions and directions. This is some kind of mixture of illogical theses. In general, if a person understands the trading process itself, that is, if he knows how to trade and has a strategy, then in 99% of cases he trades himself. There are, however, people who for some reason want to “work in a team.” I don't know why they need this. Do they have a common deposit? Or do they work for a prop trading company?
In addition, in the trading process there are not only profits, but also losses. If a trader trading on the instructions of someone else suffers a loss, then what should he do? In general, some kind of nonsense. If you want to trade, go and trade, and don’t look for assistants.
I don’t get also what OP is trying to achieve. He has all the funds to trade and admit that he knows trading well, so why the heck he’s looking for someone to trade using his funds? I guess if someone will accept this type of challenge, when the trade ends up a loss, most likely the trader itself will be held responsible of that, and the owner of the funds might demand for his money back. I don’t know but I think OP is trying to play safely, not realizing that he is already attracting scammers to bite his offer and wake up one day that all his funds have suddenly gone.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well Prepared For the Bull Market And So Far In Bitcoin Investment. on: February 17, 2024, 08:40:58 PM
Congrats OP.
Now your next assignment is how to become "diamond hands".
Where it will help you to keep calm, avoid FUDs, and panic sell.

If you have a plan to sell that stash in the future, avoid looking at Bitcoin prices from time to time. Go find some leisure to avoid looking at charts always  Wink
That’s actually the real challenge when hodling. To stick to your goal regardless of the distractions in the market. If you can manage and overcome them well, congrats in advance, you will definitely achieve your target in the crypto market. But if you somewhat fall, that’s normal for every investor, at least you never end up quitting but will decide to invest more and hold more.

Just don’t be obsessed with your investment and try to handle it more calmly. Do no monitor closely its price, but focus more on maximizing the amount of your bitcoin as it will matter a lot when you decide to sell them.
390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: February 17, 2024, 07:50:09 PM
Even in this forum I have also seen high ranked members who are staff and with thousands of posts and merits yet they also post every day hoping to be merited as well , and the question again here Is when will they be satisfied?.
You mean? If they're ever gonna be satisfied of getting merited or ?.. nobody begs to get merited AFAIK; as long as you're being productive, you'll always keep them coming!

In general, Man's want is insatiable; lemme ask you this.. how much would you ever have that'll guarantee you to stop searching for more?. Now as long as you wouldn't stop grinding for a few more grands cus you've got real problems to solve, why should anyone do so?...
Ps: As long as you're alive, there's no limit to what you can achieve.

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
You’re right. Man has no satisfaction in everything. As long as they gain benefits, they will never stop from doing it. Most especially with learning acquisition, that I think is limitless and endless. They might get tired with something in their life but with learning, I think even in all that they make and do, learning still takes place.

And when it comes to achievements, people will never get satisfied with any of those because that simply means success for them. Whether it’s investments, getting rewards, or any thing that pleases a person, that becomes unstoppable for them as their growth and development of a person never stops as well.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 17, 2024, 04:11:13 PM
I heard rumors about this but it seems like the PBA are not interested with it. Although I believe they already know that the league  is losing popularity, they still keep the current set up of teams, and worst it looks like one farm team is confirm added.
They will loss control if they will allow that. And in most industry, they already have business. If they will open for more teams, maybe other liquor businesses will also join and create their team, that would be competiting on their business. Ginebra and SMB are very popular in the Philippines, they own majority of the market so why would they allow their competitors to be popular?

If the PBA would like a change, they need to replace the higher management as I believe they are working just like a puppet, it's still MVP and SMB who are controlling the league, so they have the final say.  If there's TNT, will they allow globe? I doubt.
That is what competition is for, they can't monopolize it because this league is for everyone. If there's a lot of politics within the league, we won't be able to get talented players that will represent our country in the international competition. So if these two big team owners will not influence the decision of those who run the league, they can choose the best players to represent our country, regardless on what team he is playing.

Have you observe that when coach Chot was still in charge on Gilas, most of the players are from TNT, now that Tim Cone is the coach, he's also getting the SMB players, but the good thing is they won a championship, so people did not complain on that.

That's given I guess because it's not the league that are supporting our national team since they cannot afford it. As we can see on the international games, they are wearing the company name of either TNT or SMB, depending who help them in that competition. So yes, there's a big influence by these giant owners to dictate the officials of the league, and that influence will continue as long as there's no changes on the current rules and set up.

Without MVP and SMB, this league might also not be able to give a decent salary to its players, because I believe that once a player sign with the SMB or MVP team, they are given bigger salalry compared to other teams. They say there's a salary cap but it was only on paper, it was not implemented.

If that does not change in the future, then this league will slowly lose its credibility. When someone or a group of people has a significant influence on a certain league, it's likely that they can manipulate the outcome of the game as well. This is something that has never happened in the NBA, where team owners typically only own one team. Despite this, there are still rumors that the NBA uses referees to influence the game. If such rumors were to arise, how much more vulnerable would the PBA be with the kind of influence that big team owners have?
392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post quality matters than replying fast on: February 17, 2024, 03:20:09 PM
How quickly I replied is not a big deal, but the big thing is how much information I could give in the reply I made or how constructive my post was. Instead of thinking that we need to post quickly, we need to focus on how constructively we are posting. Everyone can post because posting doesn't require much thought, but not everyone can post constructively. In order to post constructively, a lot of thought is needed and a lot of information is needed. I replied to another person, but there is no point in replying if I can't answer his question properly. Before replying to a post, read the post carefully to see what the sender has shared in the post and what information I can help by replying to his post. Sometimes some users post off topic which is not really useful to other members and their post seems like they are posting like this just to increase the number of posts on their profile.
Some also replied quickly but the same thought from those who have posted already so I think that is quite useless to say. If you have nothing vital to add, then it’s better to just skip the thread and find other topics that you think you can contribute a lot. We are encouraging a constructive and informative posts in the forum so that it will continue to serve new ideas and information to those who are new in the forum.

Replying fast or replying late should not be an issue. But it matters most if what you are posting are irrelevant or off topic. Be aware of that. Otherwise, your post will often be criticized and I think that won’t be good for you and in the forum. However, if it’s constructive criticism, probably that’s fine.

Anyone heard of punching incident prior to the Suns vs Detroit games, wherein the Suns won?

Quote
Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart was arrested for assault Wednesday for punching Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks at the arena hours before the teams played.

Phoenix police said Stewart was issued a citation and released. Stewart was already listed as out for the game because of a sprained left ankle. Eubanks had six points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes in the Suns’ 116-100 victory.

https://www.nba.com/news/drew-eubanks-isaiah-stewart-altercation

It just caught my attention as I vividly remember that him and Lebron has also some altercations during their games wherein James "accidentally" elbow him that causes blow to flow and Stewart didn't like it and then he turn into a gangsta going after James and it took some of his team mates to restrain him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIMw4mPRz6Y

We can't blame him on his reaction, because whether it's accidental or not, you saw his face bleeding so he'll react on that.

However, this news that came up was before the game, so there must be some problem on his side for punching a player which I think the NBA will be investigating and find out who is at fault and sanction will be impose to the one. Well, it's probaly him since he was the one that was arrested.

I don't know if you are telling the truth, but if ever you are, you're lucky indeed. The price has made a continuous surge and that makes you even luckier since your profits has grown more as well. Just continue doing that and be more patient while waiting for the final bull run, in the end, you will also be the one to reap and benefit your profits when you have decided to sell all your coins.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 16, 2024, 02:22:36 PM
^^ Even his first lost is controversial, his 2nd fight against the veteran Oscar Salido, Oscar came in over weight in the fight and so he lost the belt on the scale. But then Loma loses in a split decision but due to Salido coming in the fight over weight Loma was awarded the belt, what a controversy.
That I am not so aware bout this as I starting following Loma after that fight. I thought he was undefeated but then I saw he has one loss against Salido. Thanks for giving light on what happen, now I know, no wonder people are not talking about that loss of Loma.

And then his lost to Teo Lopez, later on we fight that he had a injury in his shoulder.
This one was a legit loss, although he had an injury but he can't make that as an excuse especially if he had that already before the fight but just continue knowingly he isn't 100%. Everyone has an excuse though, but if we'll symphatize on that, it will be disrespectful to Teo who is a great boxer (now a champ).

Obviously, his last defeat against Haney too is a bit controversial, many of us thinks that he did enough to win the fight.
But it was a unanimous decision, if we judge only on the result without watching the fight, we will think he was dominated but it wasn't really that way, that's why it was a controversial decision but we gotta respect that. Anyway, Loma could correct that in a rematch if Haney would allow, but right now he has to win his upcoming fight.

Meanwhile, there's this rumor circling in the community about Justin Arana getting traded to Ginebra and he'll be earning over a million per month. This kid must be special to earn that huge amount of money. Guys, Did you read about this rumor too?

If this would happen that means Converge has really no interest in winning a championship. Maybe they are just one of the farm teams now, and of course, we can really say that Arana is a good big man, he is still young and he does a lot of hassle inside. Ginebra already have a big man, but since Japeth is not the same anymore, they need a young big man to go with C. Stand in the paint. This is a great news for Ginebra but bad news for converge.

If that trade does take place, there's nothing to say but just confirm that converge now became a farm team, unlike with the original owner of that franchise, Alaska team manage to do everything to compete they put everything that they just to seek for the title, but time comes that they can't swallow how PBA is being controlled and manipulated by the two giant companies.
Converge had a strong start, they assume the players of Alaska but after that season, they decided to trade their key players like Jeron Teng and Ahamnissi, that was already a sign that they are not serious with winning a title.

And what we are witnessing now is another sign that Converse is no longer seeking for the title but just to go with the flow. If these rumors take place, nothing to say..

So they will add on the farm teams, and that will make it 3 in the league.
1-Blackwater
2- Terrafirma DYIP
3-Converge.

I thought Converge was like Phoenix, but I was wrong.  Sad

When they start acquiring Alaska's franchise they seems to be a promising squad but after sending all those key players to both SMB and Gin kings, it's now showing their true colors, maybe they unable to manage the pressure inside the league or they just wanted to go with flow and let the dictatorship of both Boss Ramon and MVP to rise even more.
There's a possibility, afterall, it's business and they'll make sure that they'll benefit from owning a team. Unfortunately, they are just getting selfish because they are making money but they aren't satisfying the wish of the fans, like making it a competitive league like in the past. I'm sure fans are still gonna watch the game (not only in the playoffs or finals) if there's a major changes going to happen to benefit the fans, that should be their first focus as everything will just follow.

Not unless PBA will add more teams who can really compete and can really throw money, if they only allow choks2go maybe we might see another competitive team inside the league.

I heard rumors about this but it seems like the PBA are not interested with it. Although I believe they already know that the league  is losing popularity, they still keep the current set up of teams, and worst it looks like one farm team is confirm added.

It’s not on the cryptocurrency or bitcoin that improves your standard of living but it’s definitely on how you manage your position towards bitcoin. If you are smart enough to take every opportunity that bitcoin offers, then surely you will gain a highly productive result. But if you keep on missing every opportunity that comes and would neglect them instead of going out from your comfort zone and take the risk, believe me, your life will never be productive at all.
399  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: February 15, 2024, 09:35:59 PM
People fail in trading because they are not capable to win. Not only because they don’t have what it takes to make a profitable trade, but they are also not well prepared enough to trade due to lack of knowledge and skills, and most probably they lack the trading experiences that will make them master their trading. However, some people fail in trading despite of their trading knowledge and experiences, but since they find it hard to control their emotions, and would always based their decision from their emotions, then this kind of people will never win from their trades.
