381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 18, 2014, 03:07:01 AM
So what do you guys think, will I be able to overclock Two Antminer's with this PSU?  Or am I pushing my luck?  It peaks at 825W

If anyone's wondering I'm running two Antminers at stock speeds on this seven year old 750W power supply, stable.

Don't overspend on costly PSU's

Is it possible to underclock the Antminer so it uses less juice?
384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.992 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 16, 2014, 11:29:42 PM
how long should a power supply have to run these antminers because I can declare it's 100% stable?  1 day? 2 days? 12 hrs?
385  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 12, 2014, 10:57:42 PM
Is the S2 really going to be any more profitable than an S1 purchased today?

It might have double or tripple the hashrate, but it will probably have double or triple the price.

One satisfied customer already, still have more Battle Chests, MoP expansions, 60 day game cards!

On topic: wait for 6 confirmations and send him the goods Wink

Where do I see the confirmations?

edit:  I guess I just go to blockchain and search for my bitcoin address?>

There's a new user to bitcointalk who wants to buy some digital goods off me.

I'm leery of new users to forums.  He says he's willing to "go first"

Just to confirm, once I see the bitcoins in my wallet it's safe for me to send him the goods right?

Should I wait for something?  Isn't there like a pending transaction thing?

Gametime is US only, still looking to sell expansions and game time!

The only way to profit from mining at this point in time is if Bitcoin rises in price.
Good post overall but this isn't true if you paid for your miner with bitcoins.  All I care about is making more than 2.9 bitcoins with the two Antminers I paid 2.9 bitcoins for.  Bitcoin value will sort itself out over time.  My guess would be 1 bitcoin will be worth well over $1k in the not-too-distant-future.

I bought a couple coins when they were 10 bucks each, of course I regret not buying more.  I'm jealous as fuck of you guys who bought/mined dozens of bitcoins in the early days.

I think the fact that the new S1lk r04d is a scam-haven is indirectly affecting the value of bitcoin

What mining calculator do you guys use that shows you not only USD earned over time but Bitcoins earned over time?  Also what is a reasonable % difficulty jump to enter into at http://btcinvest.net/en/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php ?  Isn't 30% a bit high?

You can try using this one and adjust the difficulty(20%):

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

You should be able to alternate between BTC and USD here.

That calculator doesn't seem to show total bitcoin earned over time.  All it shows is some confusing "profit" table which doesn't make sense to me.

Honest and reputable, you needn't worry about being scammed.

What are the dimensions of the stock Antminer fan so I know what size fan I have to replace it with?
395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.37 BTC for 180GH/s on: February 28, 2014, 07:52:29 PM
These have to be the cheapest fans ever.  Googling FXDS brings up nothing.  Why does Bitmain make a relatively expensive product and include such a lousy fan?
396  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.37 BTC for 180GH/s on: February 28, 2014, 07:08:25 PM
Can anyone confirm 100% the Antminer's fan wires are NOT supposed to look like this?

How could this happen randomly while the fan is humming along smoothly?  Nobody pulled the wires out.
397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.37 BTC for 180GH/s on: February 28, 2014, 06:10:18 PM
It looks like the fan on one of my Antminers has died.  I've tried two power supplies, and it's been in my unheated garage so a fan is barely even required.  Only had it about two weeks

Has anyone else's fan died?

Fan is PWM, so if the miner is cold it will not spin.

Brought the Antminer into room temp, fan still won't spin

Is the captcha really necessary on mining.bitcoin.cz?  What is with this stupid trend to have captcha in every fucking corner of the internet?

How much do you think you'll be able to sell an Antminer S1 on ebay for in May/June ?

I'm starting to think I'm crazy for spending 2.9 bitcoins on two Antminers only to barely be able to make 2.9 bitcoins
