381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODLERS are preventing prices going down further on: March 14, 2018, 12:16:09 AM
I have watched my portfolio go down and further down. From my past experience, anytime I sold a coin, it shoots up in folds and as a result I have decided not to sell any of my coins.  My portfolio is currently bad but I’m still holding, a better day will surely come
I hope that is the case but there are instances when a better day doesn't come(like what happens to most of the shitcoins out there). Just hold only when you think your coins still has potential to reach the price you want to sell into but if not, just find a good exit point and you will be fine.
But the whales make the speculation becomes more difficult to predict. Whales always try to make holders worry about that.
If holder really believes in the long term process then he wouldn't be fazed even if whales frequently manipulates what they hold, in fact it might become a blessing to them in the end of the day as whales sometimes creates good sell points.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now Huobi has over taken Binance on: March 13, 2018, 11:54:27 AM
Both tokens have a lot in common, both are exchanges. He can make that comparison easily and it is valid.

It's a great buy compared to Binance. The Huobi tokens are going like hot cakes.
I wouldn't buy Huobi tokens if I were you if it is being sold like hot cakes. It is those times that are the most dangerous point to invest into as price movements are fast and so are dumps after that. I would rather buy binance tokens if I don't got some huobi tokens because it is less riskier. Nevertheless, it is good if you got some already, don't forget to sell at the right time.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is total market cap more important when deciding to buy or sell? on: March 13, 2018, 11:09:13 AM
What do you think, when deciding to buy or sell some coins, is total market cap more important than a specific coin? I'm asking because almost always all altcoins and BTC move in the same way.

Total market cap is irrelevant when deciding to buy some coins since it is not really the total capitalization of everyone holding the coin(since some bought at lower prices). It would be a good thing to look into when deciding to sell, since high total market cap means that there are many holders(those who can also sell) and that total market cap can turn into a dumping force later on(if coin does not have potential for growth).
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it 1994 in cryptocurrency? on: March 13, 2018, 10:35:13 AM
There is a Forbes article that compares the current crypto landscape to growth of internet saying that it is like 1994.
so in that case, Amazon of crypto is being formed this year or is just starting off, Google of crypto is still 4 years out and Facebook of crypto is still 10 years out. do you believe it is like 1994 in crypto?

if you wish to read, here is the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/apaul/2017/11/27/its-1994-in-cryptocurrency/#4d5a76aab28a
I believe it to be so as the acceptance and adoption rate of internet in 1994 and state of cryptocurrencies now is the same. I don't think the amazon of crypto will be formed this year though, it might have been already formed. Who knows it might be ethereum or any other coin out there? In terms of google and facebook of crypto though I also think that it hasn't been released yet. Thanks for the article btw, it is a good read.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam free ICO's on: March 13, 2018, 10:01:13 AM
Any of you dreamt for a scam free ICO's?

Has any scam ICO owners faced legal action?

Everyone dreamt for a scam free ICO's but rather I would reword it as everyone wishes that they won't join an ICO which is a potential scam. As far as I know, there are no scam ICO developers that faced legal action(I might be wrong because if I know an ICO is scam, I don't follow updates about it ever again). Even though everyone dreams of it, ICO's will never be scam free because there will always be one that is a potential scam.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Centralization of banking through cryptocurrency? on: March 13, 2018, 09:10:34 AM
Base on the speculation of other members here in the forum that in the near future banks all over the world will adapt the system of cryptocurrency and it will eventually centralized all banking transaction in one with the cryptocurrency or the digital currency.
You are right although I think they will not try to use cryptocurrency directly, the power of blockchain will only be harnessed to aid their system. For now it seems impossible but soon there will be institutions using blockchain without cryptocurrency in it.
Its price will be stabilized and it could be use all over the world where comfort of traveling just to use the digital currency as a form of payment.
Cryptocurrency will never be stable so long as it is traded on the free market, but it will become more stable enough to use for payment in the future.
However, it is the news nowadays has the opposite of their speculation since there are countries banning already the use of cryptocurrency. In your point of view, Will it happen to centralized money all over the world through the use of cryptocurrency? Or it will just pass and nothing will ever change in our system of banking. Or do you have any speculation with cryptocurrency? I need to justify the speculation's probability.
I think it will just come to pass(as it won't happen to centralized cash all over the world) but there will be changes in the way banks operate. At that point, I speculate cryptocurrency as something people use as an alternative, like how we use credit card sometimes.
387  Other / Meta / Re: my account is banned on: March 12, 2018, 02:02:29 PM
inquire about my account to be banned, without me knowing my mistake.
I feel I have not done any harmful action in this forum, maybe this problem can be resolved, my prohibited profile ID

profile name: Tokek_belang
ID: 1054891
Your account is banned probably because of spam. I looked up your profile and most of your posts are made on bounty threads(making weekly reports on bounty campaigns) and if not, it would just be a random spam on a dead beat topic. Do not expect it to be unbanned again since spamming results into a permanent ban here in this forum. I hope that clarifies your concern.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you believe is needed for crypto currencies to be mass adopted? on: March 12, 2018, 12:52:35 PM
As for me the first thing to do in order that crypto currencies will be mass adopted in a society is that all establishment like grocery store, gas station, department store and any others that are mostly access by the people that they have to accept bitcoin or any crypto currency as mode of payment, but i can't think how it does since the government does not want that they have no collection for the tax as we know that crypto currency is a decentralized system.
Thay can collect tax with it in anyway they want(although indirectly) as everything purchased have 12% of vat in it and companies that accept crypto as payment are obliged to pay their due tax to continue their operations. They will get tax from a decentralized system although it is lesser than what they get from the current centralized way of paying. For it to be mainstream, IMO many countries need to establish a regulation law first and tax law regarding cryptos.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook bans ads for cryptocurrencies on: March 12, 2018, 12:02:01 PM
Based on my understanding they are previously taking back or loosening up there ban about cryptpcurrencies as obviously it is affecting their revenue. Blocking all kinds of crypto related ads is like shutting down an entire revenue from that industry. Even Google didn't pursue their plan on banning crypto ads. But what Google did is screen all of their ads to avoid showing off illegitimate cryptocurrencies that have a high  chance of turning out into scams.
You are right. I expect that soon, facebook will make another statement stating that crypto ads is allowed again in their site but it will be filtered before they approve of it IMO. If they want total ban of it in the first place, then they should have had blocked facebook pages linked with ICO's as it is used to advertise cryptos. Also, they should have had not allowed anyone to create pages crypto related.
390  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in BTC vs Invest in Real Estate? on: March 12, 2018, 11:21:20 AM
Bitcoin chart is going up and down some times I am thinking maybe I should invest part of my BTC (at least the part of the profit  I’ve made on crypto) into something real?!
Let’s say I can buy share of real estate company and get the part of profit (50-100% per Year).

Should I
Spend all my BTC on that shares?
                Spend small (profit) part?
Or just do nothing and wait?

Huh?!

I’ll do appreciate for answers with any suggestions and recommendations!

I think you should continue what you are thinking about, but not on a real estate company. Just do your own research and buy company shares of companies which are more profitable, specially those who deal with technology. You can also invest that on gold if you want something real, IMO it will never lose all value, it is one of the best to hedge into and to hold for long term.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: Which type of transactions causes more congestion to network? on: March 12, 2018, 10:47:42 AM
While it's nearly impossible to get accurate numbers, I'd like to hear what you guys think. Does international transactions (between 2 address that their owners are in different countries) cause more congestion to network? or local transactions (between 2 address that their owners live in same country).

International transactions will not congest the network. The transactions made in every country is the same and will not cause traffic in blockchain directly, not unless it is sent multiple times. What causes the congestion of network is the sudden increase in the volume of transactions which happens during Christmas or any time where there is an event or during massive bullish trends. That is also the reason why network is congested at times when users want to sell.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the Biggest Bubble in Human History? on: March 11, 2018, 09:30:06 AM
Why are you still hanging around on a forum, dedicated to Bitcoin, if you do not believe in the technology?
His reason for hanging around on a forum dedicated to bitcoin is obvious. He want's to share his opinion of bitcoin and wants to start a discussion with it. That's the common reason someone who does not believe in bitcoin lurks here for.
It's the theory of false scarcity. There are a limited number of bitcoins in the world and the usage of blockchain technology has assigned the ownership of each coin to specific wallets owned by individuals. So to take "ownership," I have to use the universal blockchain mechanism, accepted by all as valid, to transfer a coin.
Then what do you think is the reason why fiat currencies have value despite it being just a paper? Because it is backed by government? Fiat currencies have value because most people sees it as the most convenient currency to use to transact daily(supply and demand). It is the same in bitcoin's case but instead it is being used to transact online.
393  Other / Meta / Re: Another idea for English language improvement. on: March 11, 2018, 07:26:12 AM
I've messed up my larynx by drinking sub-zero temperature water - yes, you can do it if you are drinking mineral water which freezes at a lower temperature - so this won't happen for a few days.

I've revived my interest in the audio editing program Audacity, and I'll be creating some radio and video files. As an initial experiment, I though it might be useful if I converted some of the new member posts into audio files with comments. I have a received English accent, so it might be useful for some members hoping to improve their English.

Let me know if you think this will be useful. I've got a Blue Yeti microphone, and using the cardioid setting allows me to record in McDonalds without too much background interference.

I think that will be useful to improve english accent, but it will only be helpful in improving english language fluency if the one listening doesn't know the word, and listening to it will expand their vocabulary if that is the case. Either way, I think it is a nice idea, since it can help some members here who wants to improve their fluency in english. I wonder if others would take time to listen to it? If they won't, your efforts will only be wasted.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Filipinos warned vs bitcoins, cryptocurrencies on: March 11, 2018, 03:11:31 AM
why should someone tell them what to do with their hard-earned money? The government and the central bank must worry and do their part, find and punish the corrupt, prevent banks from cheating and stealing money from people and not manipulate their people.
That's just how corrupt government of Philippines is. They warned citizens like that in the hopes that they can keep Filipinos who want to invest at bay, but instead what happened is the reverse. As far as I know there are many Filipinos who use bitcoin.
many people get their hard-earned money and spend all their money on drinks and women and have never seen the government or central bank complain about it... so why is it wrong for someone to invest their money in bitcoin or altcoin?
The government of Philippines doesn't said anything about it being wrong, but they said it is risky(that's a well known fact) and advices their citizens to stay away from investing into it.
395  Other / Meta / Re: what is my mistake? on: March 11, 2018, 12:46:02 AM
hi everyone.
I want to ask mainly for moderators. I lost access to my account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1195092
i am banned by theymos, i want to ask what is my mistake. I am not a farmer my account  and also never spamming.
Thank you in advance please answer
I have looked upon your post and as I can see most of your post(but not all) are spam and is on a megathread(most of your replies are posted on page 10 and above of the thread) wherein the answers just repeat itself. Some of your post are good though, specially the ones that are merited but if you don't consider most of your post as spamming, then think twice. I don't see other reasons why theymos banned you though.
396  Other / Meta / Re: Forum account needs to be KYC on: March 10, 2018, 11:25:27 PM
With all due respect, but I think it's a real nonsense. It's an exaggeration to request the KYC to avoid multi accounts. Among other reasons, because I don't think it would work. For example, they can use the ID of family members, friends or another methods.
Well every system has a loophole, and what you cited as an example is one of the loopholes in KYC. For now I think the current system where DT2 tagging those who have alts red trust is better than requesting KYC for it might compromise the anonymity and privacy of everyone here. Those who doesn't contribute anything in the forum will be banned sooner or later anyway OP so just let them be.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gox crashing the bitcoin price Why not delete their wallet from the blockchain? on: March 09, 2018, 11:48:00 PM
That would crash the price more than any actions fox could do. When you start doing anything like black listing coins or wallets you set a terrible option for future use.
You are right since it would only prove that bitcoin is not decentralized if community decides to do that.
So we thought that there is ultimate corrections that are happening during the latest dip but the truth is maybe MT Gox is probably one of the Big whales of Bitcoin.
Using maybe in your sentence might not be appropriate since it is a well known fact that Mt Gox held a lot of bitcoin when compared to other whales. I wonder though, how much btc from Mt Gox is left after the current dump?
For the stolen coin it seems impossible if the coin is back again, and that is very much in the fear of many people in this cryptocurrency world.

Stolen coins can come back in the circulation so long as the one who stole it remembers the private key of the btc address he used to store the stolen bitcoins.
398  Other / Meta / Re: How to protect your account from hackers on: March 09, 2018, 01:54:57 PM
If you have a secure VPN - that's A+ don't forget to use it all the time.

If you have more ideas on how people can protect their accounts feel free to contribute. Thanks.
Using a secure VPN is good if it is a trusted and proven one but if one used wrong vpn, they might end up with their accounts being hacked as the administrator of the Virtual Private Network can view what the user is doing. in addition to that, having a good anti virus and observing caution whenever downloading is also necessary to protect your account from hackers as they usually slip keyloggers and more onto different programs that looks useful at first.
399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Small recommendations for newcomers to make their threads to get merits easier on: March 09, 2018, 12:48:57 PM
Though it's a good suggestion, but I'm afraid that is not the only thing you need to do in order to get Merits (gosh, I'm tired of using this word).
At least one post would be easier to read and it would help clean a thread if everyone does this. In fact, one user on this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3092633.0 is ranting about those users quoting the entire OP, and OP's suggestions might help solve the problem he has on hand. OP should post this on the beginners and help section in order for this information to be seen by most newbies as they go there for help.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is your altcoin down since January? on: March 09, 2018, 12:05:52 PM
Let's help the new buyers choosing in what to buy. Here're mine two which are down like 900%:

1. ITC: $9.15 ATH in January and currently $0.92.

2. SelfKey: $0.08 ATH in January and currently $0.01.
That is really an unfortunate decision as your money has only been made as a food for the whales. In my case I have lost a little from ethereum and have dumped all other holdings I had before the bearish trend of altcoins started. If this is for new buyers choosing what to buy, then invest on any top coin that have been down for a while, they would be profitable once bullish trend comes back IMO as they might also go up in price.
