381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitBastion is partnering with the Honduran government to create a crypto city on: September 15, 2016, 09:51:14 PM
Was about to venture into the links till I read Franky1 and his response. Either way this pans out it is a interesting venture to attempt to create a nation that subsists on bitcoin alone. Recall watching some guy that created a Country that was just his boathouse at a dock,so the whole needing a Island to attempt this may be overreaching.
We could setup a nation on the cheap and it could mostly exsist in cyber space, but I could see a few issues that creep out of the idea as well.

I as well wish you well on the idea and hope it is more legitimate than first glance.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WORST decision about BTC on: September 15, 2016, 09:38:29 PM
I would say trading but the truth is I always have found a way to buy when bitcoin is high and drops right after I buy it.
So on top of getting dinged at the bitcoin Atm,I also end up losing more like not even 2 days later. Have bought a few times to see it drop by the time I get home, kind of funny how I have no memory of it working the other way for me.
My venture in trading was me not noticing fees eating up my total till the end of the day thinking I was doing good. Roll Eyes
383  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [BTFG] Travian Bitcoins Now LIVE on: September 15, 2016, 09:32:40 PM
@milkduds:

In this version of Travian, the ability to buy gold using Fiat funds has been turned off.

Well that definitely makes it much more attractive, knowing some guy on the other side of the world can not use dads credit card to build up a village.
That makes the perk of earning gold that much more appealing, good planning on your part.
Might even give this a old kick at the can,but I will have to wait till I buy a new iphone or I will be attacked well at work. Cheesy
384  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [BTFG] Travian Bitcoins Now LIVE on: September 15, 2016, 05:06:12 PM
Travian is a great game if you have the time to play it,the amount of time to keep a account going is insane and usually requires 2-3 people on one account. The idea of gold from playing should help a little but you really need to spend money to get anywhere in the game.
Nice idea and I hope it works out and attracts new blood to the game.
385  Other / Meta / Re: This is probably the most amusing thing I've seen on Bitcointalk this year on: September 15, 2016, 04:58:26 PM
Amusing till you see it showing up all over the forum. Personally have a tendency to click very few things that redirect me somewhere off the forum. Used to trust certain posters but accounts get hacked and those individuals are usually the prime targets. So I do not find the humor in the thread topic but I may be a glass half full guy on those things.
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making Bitcoin Fully anonymous ? on: September 14, 2016, 05:25:03 PM
Breaks down to hard you want to make some one sweat to figure out the money trail. Right now companies/government are unable or unwilling to commit time or resources, but that could change.

If I had a substantial amount,I would be using as many ways to throw the scent as possible. Often think gambling sites are overlooked for this factor.
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my Community bank fraud department called regarding coinbase on: September 14, 2016, 05:19:30 PM

actually ?

no.

Your money is not in the bank.
It's bank that she loan credit to you.
She can cut credit and freeze your money without justice order.

If Bank fail.
Loan fail.
Money is evaporate.

The OP makes no mention of needing a loan,so I think that aspect and credit are irrelevant to the discussion.

The guy you're calling out is correct. When you deposit money in the bank they don't put it in some drawer in the vault with your name on it. They loan it out...all of it except 10% (or a bit more) that they're required to keep on hand as a reserve. That's how banks make money. So yes, your deposits become loans. And if those loans aren't repaid your bank can't pay you the deposits you've recorded with them.

To the OP - if you want to stay with this bank, you should introduce them to the positive side of bitcoin. Send them the right articles. You could even try to get Coinbase to send you a statement verifying the legitimacy of their business.

What's the worst thing that can happen? They tell you they won't honor payments/transactions to coinbase and you go bank...for your coinbase purchases only...with some online bank.

Still has nothing to do with the discussion,he is being harassed by the bank because he does not fit into the cookie cutter image they have for a customer. The issue was never that the money is not in the bank or not.

388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my Community bank fraud department called regarding coinbase on: September 13, 2016, 07:48:22 PM
F U its my money,  I can buy whatever I want with it.

no.

Your money is not in the bank.
It's bank that she loan credit to you.
She can cut credit and freeze your money without justice order.

If Bank fail.
Loan fail.
Money is evaporate.

And Bitcoin solve this.

The OP makes no mention of needing a loan,so I think that aspect and credit are irrelevant to the discussion.

Well back a lot of people where having their bank accounts closed due to online poker connections and bitcoin is treated in the same aspect. I read a article here in Canada that the top 2 banks are closing bank accounts of those connected to marijuana business(legit ones),even as why are heading to making it legal across the board.
I recall folks in Denver had similar issues with the banks and this always breaks down into two issues.

One banks are worried about complying with government and cut off any grey areas in hopes that it protects them from unwarranted audits or issues. The latter in context to bitcoin is that the banks see it as competition and realize the way they do business is stagnant and out of date.

The reality is that banks can close a account for any reason they seem fit. This is really why I never trust banks to have any of our financial issues at heart. Reason I support bitcoin to crush this oppressive system where we are nothing but a credit number.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Legislation Coming to Florida This Year on: September 13, 2016, 07:38:16 PM
"...with an emphasis on consumer protections.”

Not really understanding why we need such a thing, unless they are some how going after wallets or off shoot businesses related to bitcoin.

Amazes me how a lot of these articles talk to people wanting to regulate bitcoin but they all lack understanding of even the basics of bitcoin. If they gave it a honest look, rather than rushing to stifle and tax they would get a decent footing.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Italy Wants to Treat Bitcoin as Currency And Tax It on: September 13, 2016, 07:16:40 PM
On September 2, Agenzia delle Entrate, the major Italian tax authority, published a new document titled “Bitcoin and digital currencies buying and selling: clarification on the tax treatment” about the fiscal treatment of Bitcoin and how VAT would be applied to digital currency transactions.

The document states:

Quote
“Traditional currency intermediary activities made with virtual currencies held by market participants are exempt from VAT, as they are among the transactions related to banknotes and coins.”

Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/italy-wants-to-treat-bitcoin-as-currency-and-tax-it

I'm not sure If it's something to be happy or sad about ? (treating bitcoin as a real currency and in the same time .. TAX IT) but well I guess that by the end of the day , Bitcoin won't go mainstream unless it is taxable.
Even if government tax is the cost we have to pay to make bitcoin mainstream,I dont see any harm.Once bitcoin goes mainstream, its value will rise too high and almost all of us would become rich.Paying taxes when you have fortunes is not bad

The idea that every one is willing to give up privacy for more global appeal is the fine line that divides those for profit and those that are hoping to change the system. Lets not presume that every one is wanting to hand all their details over to make some economic gains.

Taxing the system is a half cooked idea and if they do have a way to track then it is a bad spot for all the internet as well. It would mean that they can track all movement and not just bitcoin.

391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Italy Wants to Treat Bitcoin as Currency And Tax It on: September 13, 2016, 05:17:19 PM
The whole concept of taxing bitcoin is where I get my knickers in a twist. For me bitcoin is about creating a field outside of the government, where I can make money and not be hit over the head with taxes or scrutinized come tax time for every odd number in the forms.
Seems like the Countries pushing forward all want to get their piece of the pie and has nothing to do with keeping bitcoin rolling towards mass adoption.
With any movement I will cross my fingers I am being that glass half empty kind of guy to often.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Online shopping platform Shopawl accepts eBay purchases in bitcoin on: September 12, 2016, 05:00:33 PM
Its a interesting concept, the only red flag I could see was the company seems to be based out of Pakistan, correct me if I am wrong on that. I also am weary on the connection to my actual details,I guess it would be up to me to figure the work around on that aspect.
Have to be less of a dinosaur and figure out all these things I guess and get to supporting innovative ideas connected to bitcoin.
Hopefully some one tests this and gets back to this thread with any issues.

Its easy to sit back and judge people for the way they survive when you are having all the basic needs met.
The answer you dance around seems to be very narrow in thinking and achieves little but a racist talking point.

Don't Forget to Create a New Nitrogen Wallet Address

If you haven't created a new Nitrogen wallet address since September 7th, 2016, you'll be prompted to do so the next time you try to make a deposit.

There's no need to worry if you mistakenly send a deposit using your old Nitrogen wallet address, you will receive your bitcoin eventually. However, creating a new wallet address is very easy and it will help to ensure that your deposits arrive promptly. To learn more about why we're taking this precaution and how to create a new Nitrogen Wallet Address, please visit this page. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us at support@nitrogensports.eu.

Creating a new Nitrogen wallet Address:

Excellent. Was thinking this was going to be a ongoing thing and was worried I would get lazy time to time and send to a old address.

Also really appreciate these new restricted tournies, even though I will most likely miss todays. It helps narrow the field of these yahoo players with 10 + accounts.
I know it has been as frustrating for you guys as it has been for me reporting them.

Noticed something not that big of a issue but might cause issues for some people, not sure...

I logged in and noticed my deposit address had been reset and was blank, waiting for me to click a new address.
Presumed these addresses where static some what,is it safe to presume this happens often enough to not put it as in my profile here? Cheesy
Not sure if I caused that issue by resetting my browser as well, just thought I would address the issue and see what the word is on stability of a deposit address.

Guess I want to know if I can rely on it to be my deposit address for say 2 weeks,a month or if it is just a thing I need to keep a eye on in the future.

Also can I get a link where the restricted freeroll for Sunday goes through the requirements,I looked yesterday but failed to see anything besides what was written in the lobby.

Thanks. Smiley
397  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which US presidential candidate will back Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2016, 04:09:14 PM
Both lean towards protectionism so the chances are slim for either party endorsing bitcoin in the fashion we would want to see here.
Hilary has the greater chance of actually attacking bitcoin I would think due to her contributions toward her war chest coming from vested interests.
Would not expect either to forward bitcoin in the long run.
398  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 500TH Homicide....Chicago is a war Zone on: September 08, 2016, 05:28:51 PM
must be those racist white police shooting them for no reason
I see more and more cases of that insane police shooting... may be it's not random cases? may be some one profits from it and it's part of some conspiracy?

Sarcasm detector failed you.

Think the world is getting a little more hectic and a lot of people will not be able to cope to the pace of change or not wanting to.
As that becomes more obvious we will see more flaring up of people lashing out in violent or irrational ways.
500 does seem like a lot but does this not speak more to how easy it is to get a gun these days?
399  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Poker Freerolls on: September 08, 2016, 05:20:34 PM
you should try betcoin.ag
another way is pokerstars... freerolls almost every hour and if you want to do a deposit/withdraw using bitcoin you can use neteller.

Little off topic but can you explain how you are using neteller and bitcoin to cashin and out of Pokerstars?
I would love to go back to playing Pokerstars but I did not like using my bank account and that restricted most options.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to the topic,Nitrogen has a cheat/multi account issue that makes playing their freerolls a real pain in the ass.
You will see about 50 players and a good half the field are multi accounts. So you get your allin called by 3-4 other players in hopes they knock you out. Its not poker and you end up just sitting there hoping to make final table and luck out.

Fortunejack seems alright if you can double up early and then just call the aggro fish allins once in a well to cash.
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitfinex back on track leading the market. on: September 08, 2016, 05:12:48 PM
Think a majority of bitcoin users now are driven by profit and it sometimes clouds better judgement as they chase the elusive millionaire status the early adopters supposedly all received.  You combine that with the fact that a mass is quite young for the most part and lacking in life experience to pull on about say issues like the one we have here in this thread.

If you take the two factors mentioned you get a pretty good picture as to why people are so quick to jump back onto a red flag issue like it is business as usual. The way they planned to fix the issue should scare any one that decent enough amount on any exchange.
