Glad to see launch is close.

What makes you think this?

They said March.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 09, 2015, 12:44:38 AM

Nope launch is in March.

385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 05, 2015, 02:27:47 PM
is there a release date for the nem launch announced yet?

no, hopefully it shouldnt be long before a date is announced.

You've been saying this for literally over 6 months now.

And he's by definition closer to the truth now then when he said it first.

As things stand now I hope we'll have an update on the matter next week or so.

"And he's by definition closer to the truth now then when he said it first. " Wouldn't that be the case everytime he says it? haha

Anyways, 26 Days remain. Smiley

The ' bird ' you guys refer to is supposed to be a Phoenix. Now most birds look alike anyway...you know ..wings and feathers and beak and suchlike. Humans tend to look closer at birds to see what type they are. Its likely that these logos of Phoenix's could have their colour changed to say 'fire colour'...dark red ? Now when this happens and given the clue of flames in the design ....they really look like a Phoenix.

The Phoenix is not 'just' a bird. Its a symbol of rebirth and regeneration and in our case it is a powerful symbol of a New Economy arising from the ashes of the old one.

There is a Phoenix coin and when the big SilkCoin takeover was going to happen a logo very similar to this one was proposed.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption extended[Updates&Discussion] on: March 02, 2015, 10:43:24 PM
I think that NEMs huge problem is that it wasn't launched in November before the current BTC slaughter and all ongoing ALT slaughter. I know, you might tell how NEM wasn't ready, multisig wasn't ready etc.. and I agree with this, but I think huge opportunity has been passed. Crypto is in a big slump and it will take time for it to get out of this slump. Problem with NEM is that will be launched in the midst of the crypto storm crisis.

It couldn't be launched in Nov as it wasn't ready in Nov. We still don't know when it will launch.  Could be another six months of bug fixing.

They said March.

Who is "they"?  No actual dev said March
There is a list of "Marketers" on the OP and three of them have said March. "Rocketear, Kotycoon, and Pastmstewr, the only launch date I saw listed was by xTester when it was an "Official" launch date of December 2014.
to clarify, the March date was just a rough estimate of when launch might be. None of us 3 actually knows with any certainty when launch will be. The only reason March look like a good date is cos a dev previously said a few(as in 3) weeks after multisig release. So being conservative you can add a few weeks on top of the originally mentioned few week which ends up being around 1st to 2nd or 3rd week in March. Based on the knowledge we have, that is the vest estimate we can give.

March is not an "official launch date". It is an estimate based on prior information and on the assumption no major bugs are found.

28 days remain... Countdown!

https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2908.0

Thx!

But i can´t install the newest version error message " no java or old java is needed" but i have install the new java version and yet i don´t have the time today to fix the problem.

Probably the same error I am receiving: https://i.imgur.com/45ani3b.jpg

yes the same error

Hi,

as the error is suggesting, you need to install the 64-bit java version (your OS is 64 bit, right?).

I am on 32-bit OS, so I assume I am donating my NEM or is there another option?

currently the installer is not compatible with 32bit systems afaik. you can still run the stand alone version. you will find an easy to follow guide here: https://forum.nemcoin.com/tutorials/running-the-client-using-the-stand-alone-version-how-to-guide/msg12807/#msg12807

Giving it a try now.

let me know how you get on with the guide.. if you get stuck anywhere or find anything  to be confusing at first, just let me know and il try to improve it. Smiley

http://localhost:8989/ncc/web/index.html won't load been running about 2 hours now, more time?

this thread just got amazingly cleaner and positive after I found and used the ignore option Smiley

The more FUDsters and trolls on the scene, the more it's apparent that NEM is the real deal.

Cloud, silver lining Wink.

This anecdotal mythical evidence is spouted off in every thread and has never made any sense to me haha...

Yes but again tell that launch day will be at next 2 months
 Huh Huh Huh

Maybe at June or July will be out

it says the most accurate (estimation of a) date we can give is march.. thats a far cry from june or july? im personally much more confident in a march launch. the installer is nearly finished, multisig has been in testing for a while and is going good. anti-spam feature seems to be working from reports iv read. a lot of bugs are being pounded out.. progress is going really well now.. there are no more major features that need to added/tested, webstart i think is being done away with which caused a lot of delays in development for the dev team as far as i can tell.. over all things are looking really good.. much different from a few months ago. its just my personal opinion but im confident in a march launch - especially that the 26th deadline for AE has been set in stone now.

March 2015 right?

397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: February 15, 2015, 03:53:06 PM
That's it. Feb 26th. Last day to redeem.

No more screwing around folks, lets get this show on the road!

For what its worth, my core being trusts you guys, I think at the end of the day you are actually trying to do good work to benefit mankind instead of just being another band of cheesy profiteers.

So please prove my instincts right and keep the launch date firm! The first NEM release doesn't have to be perfect! As we all know, bitcoin is still far from perfect, yet it exists, it serves a utilitarian function and has value.

Just please quell the fears of (at least) 100 people I am speaking for, a silent majority of sorts, who wants to see this thing become REAL. Screw the exchanges and multisig and whatever else may be holding you guys up. Just get er out there so we know we haven't been long-conned.

Does that make sense to anybody else other than me? Buenos Noches y gracias,

Nutildah el Hambriento, Conquistador del bufés

if nem never launched, i think the only ones that would be long conned would be the devs and anyone who has put any amount of effort in to make nem better. these people would be long conned out of all the work they have put in. so if anyone is at risk of being long conned, its the dev team et al but they would essentially be conning themselves lol no one has actually had a single penny put into their own pockets.

"For what its worth, my core being trusts you guys, I think at the end of the day you are actually trying to do good work to benefit mankind instead of just being another band of cheesy profiteers."

that is exactly what everyone is trying to do. if Nem was just a profit making racket, it would have launched back in july/august, possibly sooner, but that is not the case. much work has been put into nem, it would be an awful shame to see all that effort go to waste due to launching too early. im perfectly ok with nem taking as long as it needs to. of course it would be nice to launch sooner, but id rather not rush things and be sure that its not going to all go up in a pile of flames.

If this coin doesn't launch by March 17th, I am going to go out on a limb and say there is no way to know if anyone got conned, because who knows how many stakes the developers potentially have, but I think at that point this "movement" will be too late. We see other coins very similar to NEM that are doing quite well. (Yeah yeah I know NEM is soooo different because of ______) I really think the "New-Great Technology" scheme we got going here with NEM is leaving the dock as we speak. We just might miss the ride.

It's been awhile, but it's now time to move on and end stake redemption.

2/26 will be the deadline for stake redemption.
BTT redemption will continue later in the 2 month extended redemption period.
Nxt AE redemption will end forever on 2/26; your nemstake assets will be worthless after that, so please redeem!!!

A new econemy starts with you redeeming your stake  Smiley
Great news, launch is near  Cheesy

LOL, another deadline
it was there twice time
The developers have never committed to launch deadlines so it will come when it is ready and tested.

Um, I beg to differ, December was the official launch time as stated by the lead developer. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654845.msg9606979#msg9606979

Regardless of your misinformation, I am excited to see NEM on its way.

Important note: I'm not lead dev, nor a core dev, nor any developer for that matter.

As for the mentioned post, as with all posts regarding launch estimates, it was a mere approximation and should be treated as such.

I've amended that to the post as well in order to clear up things and avoid any confusion or unnecessary discussion.

"official launch has been rescheduled for December" estimation/approximation that was official... heh,,,but lets digress. The real deal is near. Can;t wait.
