Said it before, i'll say it again;
I'm only interested in a solid platform. I don't want another bitcoin where there's so many patches and holes it makes people wary of investment. This is not what NEM needs.
very happy to see so many people showing their support like this however compered to the number of people in nem, those showing support are relatively few so i urge those who feel the same to speak up and give the devs the support they deserve. we all benefit if things are done properly first time around. im sure fixing bugs after launch becomes a much more challenging and time consuming task so 2 months extra spent developing pre launch could save 5 after launch. it may feel like delays but if anything it will speed up development a lot in the future. You make a great point and a message of reason, thanks kodtycoon, makes sense to me. |

I know the way these people are expressing themselves in a child like manner, but people do have a right to be disappointed as we have seen multiple delays. Just wish they would word their discontent a little better.
If you go by what was set in stone we have seen 0 delays. Every launch date we set was tentatively and that fact was made very clear. Peoples selective reading isn't our fault. People are dissapointed, they have a right to be, no doubt about it. Noone has the right to dissrespect the devs because of it though. No matter how pissed people are, they knew very well that everything in crypto is a risk and even the very first post, before any modification that UP made stated that no promises are made about anything. And please stop quoting that subhuman moron. Let him do his thing but don't give him any attention. Not worth it. You just reiterated my point. Thank you and keep up the good work. |

Making a self moderated thread here makes a coin look iffy, but restricting discussions exclusively to the devs own forum makes a coin look reallly iffy.
Those of us that know the history of reddcoin and some of us even fell victim to it. There has been a lot of shady business. I for one and glad they have moved into their own circle jerk it will protect others from falling into their trap here and on reddit. I heard the name but never did any research on it. There was one member here I remember who said he made a fortune on it but that was ages ago. Was it pumped and dumped? The only person that made a fortune was the developer.  |

Everybody can see that. But Bitcoin will be always the king. Why? Because is the first. Bitcoin can change in some many ways to solve all these problems, using sidechains for example. Be realistic, thinking about NXT or NEM killing BTC is totally impossible. Maybe Safecoin has some chances, but is veryyy very far away yet. firstly i never said anything about over taking bitcoin.. just that they are starting to see(accept) what a lot of us have known for a long time. secondly.. maidsafe is not a coin in the same way that bitcoin is and is not intended for the same use.. far from it.. so in that respect, nxt or nem actually would have a higher odds of surpassing bitcoin.. it would have been more accurate to say that maidsafe has a better chance of becoming larger than dropbox than nem or nxt. the odds of nem surpassing bitcoin are not as far fetched as you might think.. at this very early stage of course you are right.. but if all goes well.. 2-3 years from now could be a whole different story. the first generation of any technology has pretty much never been the one that goes properly mainstream. i dont think crypto will be any different. i never said "kill" either.. bitcoin will likely be around for a very very long time.. but thats not to say that something else cant be "as big" or "bigger" than bitcoin itself, it doesnt have to "kill" bitcoin to do this. Anyway, talking about a coin, taking over the world, which has not even launched yet, is a bit of a stretch. You´re getting ahead of yourself, i love NEM, but it yet has to proof itself in real world. First things first, no ? Keep calm, fasten your seatbelts and keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times, and enjoy the ride . .  NEM is at the moment like a rollercoaster stuck at the top of the loop  no, i think the real value of NEM is between 50 000 - 100 000 nxt still good opportunity to invest I assume you meant NEMstake...? |

if I reinstall NEM client it won;t change my address I registered my stake with right? as long as I use the same name/password
The address you used to registers your stake (if you did it right) it only created once by the generator. Even without reinstalling the client you'd create a different one when you run the generator. As long as you have the priv-key you generated you can do whatever you want on the test net. It has nothing todo with the live net. Many people didnt understand that the creation of real account data was just a simple address generator. I think thats because the way it was implemented in NCC led to some misunderstanding. If would have been more clear if there was just an "Address Generator for Real Accounts". But yeah... too late now  Well even if you don't understand it we did tell everyone abundantly clear that the data need to be saved in a secure place. Plus there is a check when you create it that asks you to paste the data again so this is really fool proof imho. Yes, the web interface tells you to safe the data in a secure place, correct. But still a lot of people didn't get it was just a simple address generator. A lot of people thought that the client somehow created that "real account" data out of your testnet address *or whatever*. So there was some confusion about it when e.g. my "how to create real account data safely" guide was published and people asked what now, because they already created their data. But yeah... The discussion is kind of senseless since this is kind of over^^ The reason I was asking is because my NCC constantly says NIS is one day behind. It isn't "kind of over" for me heh Can I reinstall? |

I just ask the question, because i would love to see a deadline and all the buzzling just before the xmas. Would you agree with me, that the launch at 24.12.2014 could be a huge marketing stunt? "This xmas santa will bring a huge gift for everyone, NEM will come into existence"
I dont want to see a deadline. As long as it is not possible to know when the code is ready for launch, a deadline is not only senseless, it is even counterproductive, because it creates negative pressure on the devs and leads in either early, buggy launch or delayed launch which is annoying for you all. NEM is no pump & dump coin for speculators making quick money. It is a long-term movement. This is a topic gone over a million times, and common sense pretty much says this - those who pressure for a release are likely people looking for quick fiat anyway, and won't contribute to the nem ecosystem. I want NEM to be solid, without it things will crash pretty quickly. While I agree we shouldn't dilly dally either. There is a window of opportunity, and it doesn't stay open forever. Dont get me wrong, i want to perfect product just like anyone else. Have you guys recently saw that any major movie, game or product launch without a clear launch date? How likely is it that you'll find bugs in the movie that could break it when it's played ? Have you looked at the state that games are shipped in lately ? They could use A LOT more time. You guys are making one fatal error. Because you have used the whole we won't relaese till the product is perfect smokescreen to deflect from the truth that you simply haven't finished your shit coin and have a project that has sprawled over 3 fucking years is this. When you do release and the inevitable bug arises this coin will be not only the biggest joke coin in crypto history but you will alway witness the steepest drop in price ever. I might of respected you guys if you simply said you couldn't finish the coin I time. All this sock puppet registering drawn out to help more register is what I suspected, a simple case of stalling and incompetence.
