I'm guessing 1.1 billion.

Get your good guesses on!

I guess I was completely spot on with this then? Since it was deleted? There was literally no other reason to delete my speculation (which I said it was) unless it was a little too accurate for comfort.

IntelliHash

I can't see how intellihash could possibly work... the only thing it possibly could be is an over-clocking utility. It cannot change a chip (Ken said it would work on avalons too), it cannot fake proof-of-work (and if it can, bitcoin is broken), so the only option is an over-clocking utility. Which would be coherent with the 20% increase quoted, as that would be about the max you could reliably overclock.

TLDR; IntelliHash is, in my judgement, an overclocking utility.

Did you read that old KnC article? They got their 30% performance boost from cgminer tweaking. If this is the case, then the delay with the chips is unrelated to the Intellihash development.

except Ken has explicitly said that the chips will be late due to alterations needed for Intellihash. He has also said that Intellihash could be a game changer for ActM, I don't thin he would use this language lightly in a formal update about the company.

Upon further review, you are correct:

Quote
Intellihash(tm)

Intellihash is our new trademark for our new Bitcoin mining software which gives up to a 20% increase in hashing speed and has the possibility to increase the speed of our mining machines as the difficulty goes up.  We have had to modify the software in our chips to make it work with our new software.  The chips are going to be late; however, our new Intellihash software could be a game changer for the company.

I don't believe I'll be talking about this on a public forum anymore in respect of Ken's wishes. I'm satisfied that Intellihash is real and will be very good for our miners.

Agreed. I believe this was Ken's way of telling us that we are going to be knocking out some of the most ground breaking bitcoin mining machines ever seen with out trying to give too much away to our competitors.

Ken isn't just 'the boss' he's 'a boss' and will make himself and others very wealthy if they are prepared to hold on for the ride.

Can't wait for that!

Your post is just too good!
3805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 10, 2013, 10:25:28 PM
Is this hash rate spike:
http://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate related to the latest developments at HashFast?
Or it's all because of another company shipping/testing their hardware?

KnC November Batch. If HF would test stuff they would post proof.
3806  Other / Archival / Re: PAPA ASIC NEED FUNDING PLEASE PARTICIPATE on: December 10, 2013, 10:13:23 AM
hi guys

the ic company have received some samples

there are ongoing tests but here is the first results:

If core voltage is 1.20V, this chip can reach 780MHs

If core voltage is 1.55V, this chip can reach 1GHs

 1.55V is the maximum voltage.

Others tests are in progress

i ll post all the progress here

thanks

Since we are still struggling with heat problems, we will be able to open sales only Monday 16 December for our first batch.
Remember:
NO PREORDERS only IN HAND SALES

Have a great day!
BTC Olympus Team

Instead of delaying just post some damn photos of the units with heat problems. Or just undervolt them for better cooling and post photos/videos. Having no proof screams scam from 100 miles.

I, personaly, don't think that i can tell what a person works after his/her face.

For what it's worth, I've asked to receive a review unit that I would pay for in full upon delivery, and report back to the community as to the legitimacy of this product.

In theory, they are OK with the request and have passed it on to the rest of the team for approval.

Will keep ya'll posted.

One of the Hero member here will test our product. So, for those who are not decided, please wait for his review.
Til then, don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter for more updates: http://www.btcolympus.com

I wish you all a great evening!

Who are the hero members? Still why can't you post some tests?
3809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 10, 2013, 12:19:11 AM
Not the shipping story again...I thought we had this one month ago too...

I think I have every right to be upset with them for failing to deliver on the terms they advertised in huge print.

Remember that you also get ~130GH/s more for less than 5 days late? C'mon...

"less than 5 days late" remains to be seen.

I only meant to make one post about it.  I would have left it at that if I hadn't instantly received a "they never said that" argument.

So how many days were they late?
3810  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] btcolympus.com 28nm Hercules ~500 GH/s ASIC NO PREORDERS! on: December 10, 2013, 12:07:58 AM
Our Hardware Machine, BTCO Poseidon is hardware lock. You pay half on website and half on delivery. After the hardware is received, you send us Poseidon unic ID and pay the second payment step and we will send you the unlock serial key.

No way im buying anything with such kinds of locks. Even if this is legit and not a scam, whats to say that there isint any timelock and later they asking for more money to renew the serial?

On the flip side, there is no way a hardware vendor, especially in bitcoin world, would ever agree to such terms. Theres no shortage of people trying to get their hands on it for half the price and then reverse engeneering the design/firmware or just cracking it.

Let's teach them a lesson and get them at half price then (or maybe free if we pay by paypal and we chargeback). But we don't know the prices.

Then you would be the scammer.

After all the scams a revenge would be so damn nice  Grin

We are sure that every hardware lock can be hacked, that is why we are trying to make it the best we can. Still, we do trust that our customers buy in good faith and not to scam us. Our prices will not be inflated, it's nothing to worry about.

Why no real picture with the equipment(chips, pcb) or a demo of working miners?

Have you seen the underside of the controller board:

Neat! Now someone tell us what's with those signatures and what's with the numbers?
3814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 09, 2013, 09:49:42 PM
So received my Nov Jupiter.

Can't connect to machine by either SSH or webpage.  It is assigned an IP address just can't connect. Even ping gets no response but not sure if the BBB is setup to respond to ping.

If I disconnect all 4 ASIC boards I can connect to the host and access web gui with no issues.
Reconnect the ASIC boards, can't connect.
Tried connecting just one ASIC board with same results.
Tried two different power supplies with the same results.

Anyone had anything like this or am I just SOL?

Maybe silly question but you didn't flash 0.99-tune onto it did you?

If not...

I'd get the RMA email done right away, you can always cancel it if you fix it, but at least get the ball rolling as it can take a day or two, then I'd go on the IRC channel and ask hno what he thinks

I didn't flash anything, it never worked from the first power on.   I did try reflashing the Nov 0.99e firmware but no change.  The one thing that makes the convinces it is just a bad controller is it does not save any setting after a reboot or power loss.  For example enable ssh, able to ssh in (w/ no ASICs connected), reboot, not able to ssh in, check gui and enable ssh is unchecked.

I went ahead an put in an RMA but I have a bad feeling KNC is going to make me ship the entire damn this back rather than just ship a new controller.

I just went through the same problem after i moved my Jupiter to another room and another network cable. Did 2 restarts and nothing, then i did a hard reset and still the same problem and then i just rebooted the router and changed the network port. Now it works. Try to play around with the router/network port if you didn't send it back already.

What's so hard to post a freaking picture or video of units hashing? How come after you raise 4 mil $ you only have 25 units? What is this? What prices can you have considering that you loaned 1.5 mil $ (must return a lot more than 1.5 mil$ i guess).
3816  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.16) on: December 05, 2013, 11:30:39 AM
I don't know if this was posted or not, but i have a problem. I'm using Armory with the "--datadir=" command and it keeps crashing at 99% scanning transaction history with every version that i try. Using the default directory works, but what should i do to work with the "--datadir=" option?

Solved. Deleted the "databases" folder and now works like a charm.

Edit: I am thinking that using a .wallet file may pose some kind of security breach. How hard would it be to implement the use of custom named wallets? For examtle abc.jpg or abc.xyz? The format can be the same i assume, only the name changes.
3818  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 03, 2013, 11:26:37 PM
I bought my baby jet on 09/01 (TOS of 08/08 stated NO GUARANTEED SHIPPING DELIVERY OF 31ST DEC). TOS changed on 09/09 and several more times all in favor of HF. I do not want a machine that will not bring back its initial investment, built fast to get out the door before 12/31 and will more than likely be defective. With their ambiguous dates and false sense of security via their elusive MPP they have duped all batch 1 customers. I have requested a refund several time (last one on 11/26) and they took a week to carbon copy the BS they tell everyone: "no refund, sell your machine…"

Samantha Owusu that is writing their TOS and can't spell cancellation correctly has not been taking into consideration FTC rules that prevail above the amateur HF TOS.

Hashfast violations of FTC rules
(keep in mind that monetary civil penalties are up to $16,000 per violation)

1. Misleading shipping dates on the product page.
The baby jet batch 1 showed delivery date of 20-30 october on your product page on hahshfast.com and was relied by other media that promoted HF items. It does not matter if HF terms of sale state otherwise, the fact is that HF page was misleading and FTC rules stipulate that "Whether you make a shipment representation or rely on the 30-day rule, your advertising should be unambiguous about when you will ship". This is a 2 months discrepancy and for normal product this is already unacceptable but for the BTC market, where mining hardware is an arm race, this is suicidal. $16K

2. Terms of sale and a purchase order is a sales contract between a customer and a merchant. Changing terms of sale should have been notify directly to me and as for a contract each party has to consent to the new terms of the contract or it becomes null and void. $16K

3. Before the product is shipped, according to the FTC rule the customer has all the right to cancel the order no matter if HF wrote on their TOS that they do not accept refund or cancellation as the US LAW prevail before HF TOS and rule. So as stated by FTC "You must cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when:
the customer exercises any option to cancel before you ship the merchandise.
" It is the company duty to take this into consideration this risk while manufacturing a product. $16K

4. Changing item specs from 350W to 400W. $16K

"If, after taking the customer’s order, you learn that you cannot ship within the time you stated or within 30 days, you must seek the customer’s consent to the delayed shipment."

The FTC investigates fraud and eliminate unfair business practices. As I filed a complain with them regarding HF company, they will be investigating further points, my list above is non exhaustive.

This is why you should comply with the FTC regulations:
Merchants who violate the Rule can be sued by the FTC for injunctive relief, monetary civil penalties of up to $16,000 per violation (any time during the five years preceding the filing of the complaint), and consumer redress (any time during the three years preceding the filing of the complaint). When the mails are involved, the Postal Service also has authority to take action for problems such as non-delivery. State law enforcement agencies can take action for violating state consumer protection laws.

I'm working with my uncle based in SF (former Senior VP of Charles Schwab) to send their lawyers this week to the Nextspace office where HF is now located (to look good on their video). A class action and full media attention will certainly motivate these lawyers. MP if you are also interested by this class action.

Finally! Good job! cedivad Santa came earlier this year for you!

Whats your point?

Whats your problem?

My point is many delusional CT customers are still clinging to their obsolete "mid December" fantasy.

My problem is you ignoring the plain language of Cointerra's own press release, and insisting they promised late Dec when they actually said "mid."

i think you're getting confused.  its a different asic company that has a mid-december fantasy...

See the ^above^ quote?  That's where you were wrong about me being confused, when in fact I knew exactly what I was talking about.

I tried to educate you on the history of Cointerra's promises, but instead of graciously accepting your mistake you chose to bloviate and dissemble.
