3801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Pizza accept BTC on: September 12, 2021, 07:21:04 AM
This is what is important about El Salvador accepting Bitcoin :

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/09/el-salvador-bitcoin-move-could-cost-western-union-400-million-a-year.html

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2021/09/09/el-salvadors-new-bitcoin-wallet-could-totally-disrupt-the-remittance-process.html

"CNBC’s MacKenzie Sigalos discusses El Salvador’s new bitcoin wallet, which allows for cross-border, virtually instantaneous, zero-fee transactions – a game changer for a country where 70% of the population depends on money sent home from abroad."

Bitcoin is all about disruption of large corporate businesses and Banks that are exploiting people. It has been many years that Banks and remittance services have been charging people millions in fees, when they want to transfer money to their people at home and that has to end. Their President said that this was one of the reasons why he has done this.

So, having these fast food giants accepting Bitcoin too, just make it cheaper for those people receiving the bitcoins to buy food. (They do not have to convert it to Fiat to be able to buy food there)  Wink

Wallet providers and Exchanges are very strict when it comes to casinos, because a lot of money laundering takes place through illegal gambling sites. The regulated gambling sites, should not be a problem ...because they verify users as part of their agreement with the license that are awarded to them.

I will rather use a desktop wallet like Electrum or a hardware wallet and then push the coins through a Mixer service to "clean" them, before I use wallet providers like this. (Centralized services can lock your account, if you break their rules in the ToS)  Roll Eyes

To get 1 ticket only in an entire week means it has to have been a referral bonus to an account which never collected the faucet, so they may never even use that account.  I knew tons of people from computer forums back in the 2013 era when we could mine BTC on a simple cheap graphics card and it would make a profit, they left and never came back after that year because it fell so hard.   Some of them rewired their entire houses upgraded the fuse box etc. put out money because they bet on the highest price and forgot difficulty rising + the era of ASIC arrived, unfortunately its better to play the long game on the base price not the spikes imo.    So if he doesnt use that account but someone he referred is still playing then he gets a prize and never realizes.   I have an old account from back then and I never took it serious so I've no idea on it tbh, I never really managed to refer anyone though so its not entering lotteries automatically.

I just got about 9000 sats from 3 wheel spins, pretty lucky in a straight sequence as the 5k tier one is a bit rarer then that normally.    I dont dream about the big prize so much as it does require exceptional luck, if I can just win regular then maybe go on to win a few of the sports bets thats cool by me.

Yea, I have the same experience... some of my referrals went idle on me for years and when there are a spike in the price, then their account becomes active again. I think they forgot about there accounts and when they see the high Bitcoin price, they suddenly want to use the site again.. hoping that the Satoshi that they get, will be worth something or that there were some Satoshi's left in there.  Roll Eyes

I see some tickets magically appearing now and again and I know I have not bought it, so it must be these dead referrals that are coming back to life.  Grin Grin Grin
3804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: He’s Not a ‘Bitcoin Enthusiast’, but This Single Factor Could Change His Mind on: September 11, 2021, 09:12:41 AM
Mark Mobius is bending the facts on most of his statements and it is clear that he does not understand a lot about Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes  The El Salvador president clearly said that the Money transmitters and the Banks are making too much money on international transfers. A lot of their citizens are working in other countries and the fees that these Banks and Money transmitters are charging them to send money home.. is absolutely ridiculous.

How can he point a finger at El Salvador in saying that they are bankrupt, when most of the 1st world countries are neck deep into debt.  Roll Eyes  If you want an excuse not to be into Bitcoin, you will simply make up shit like this.  Roll Eyes
3805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: September 10, 2021, 08:23:38 PM
I do believe that gambling is based on both skill and chance. If you play a particular game all the time, soon you'd notice a pattern whenever you win or lose. If bettor has a small knowledge of statistics and probability he or she will under its application in every game. On the other there's a small role that luck/chance plays. Someone said that that the difference between skill and chance is long term versus short term thinking.

How can there be a pattern if every bet is unique? The outcome is determined by the Client Seed and the Server Seed, so there is no pre-determined pattern to follow. If there were any recognizable pattern, professional gamblers and math boffins would spot these quickly and they will drain the house.

There is a lot of skill and some luck in Sports betting, but even if you are a Sport boffin.... the house will handicap you, if you win too much. Every thing in gambling is geared to favor the house.  Wink  (They need to be profitable for us to play there)

I had my first Mega Jackpot round the other day and was freaking out. Unfortunately I busted on the third row, but damn it was exciting.
At least you're hit.

I play on "Red Tiger" provider, the jackpot only can be a false hope while the sound is kinda lough ~LOL IMO, while you're on hitting jackpot situation no matter what pick you're then you will get the jackpot.

I have won the Red Tiger Jackpots (hourly) two times already and I have been trying to win the Mount Magmas Daily Jackpot for the last couple of days, with no luck.

The Daily of yesterday has paid off in the last minute and I was there until the end.... getting the "Daily" three times within the last 15 minutes and bombing out on the second row. (So disappointing..... but a huge adrenaline rush when it goes down to the last minute)

One day I will get it.....  Roll Eyes
3807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My hardware store now accepts Bitcoin! on: September 10, 2021, 06:39:24 AM
I am curious how you going to "distribute" you Bitcoin income? A lot of merchants make use of Payment processors too, so they convert the Bitcoin back to cash to bypass regulations and laws in their country. (Effectively ...you are accepting Cash and not Bitcoin, when you have transactions processed through Payment processors)

Are you going to keep a portion of the Bitcoin received and hoard it or are you converting all bitcoin received back into fiat? (The merchants that I spoke to, keep about 15% of the profit in Bitcoin to capitalize on the potential that the price might skyrocket in the future and then maximizing their profits)  Wink
3808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interview session with store owner accepting bitcoin... on: September 10, 2021, 05:33:24 AM
I had a similar experience with a tyre fitment centre in my city. I had a worn tyre that had to be replaced and I walked into the shop and there it was "Bitcoin Accepted here" sticker on the counter. I then ordered 2 tyres and I paid with my mobile wallet, but things did not go as planned... because the merchant struggled with "BitPay" and with his accounting system.

The payment with Bitcoin took longer than the fitment and balancing of the 2 tyres.  Roll Eyes  The transaction was successful, but a few weeks after that, the merchant phoned me and asked me if I can come back and if I can pay with cash, because BitPay had issues validating their wallet and they limited or blocked their account. (He has since stopped accepting Bitcoin as a payment option)

So, until we find a way to eliminate the 3rd party intermediaries (centralized services) ... Merchant adoption of Bitcoin as a payment option will be stalled.... hopefully the Lightning Network will solve these issues.  Roll Eyes
3809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine to legalize cryptocurrencies > Bill passed 2nd reading on: September 09, 2021, 11:36:31 AM
The difference between the Ukrainian Bill and El Salvador is that the Ukrainian government is not accepting it as legal tender, so you can trade it as a Commodity in a centralized and regulated environment, but it is not recognized as a Currency.

So, yes... it is good that it is not banned... but it is bad news when they start regulating it and identifying people behind the tokens. The government can then confiscate it, like they did with Gold in the US. (They simply raid the centralized exchanges and they take the coins in Cold storage)  Angry

You should be your own Bank..... You should control your Private keys.  Wink
3810  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: STAKE.COM ODDS PROVIDER SCREWED ME OVER HARD on: September 09, 2021, 09:28:42 AM
Stake should have some independent dispute resolution system, where someone can mediate problems like this. It cannot be productive to wash clothing in the public like this, because it is surely bad publicity if a Diamond player are turning to a public forum to try and resolve his/her problem.

I even see there are a Reddit page, where people are bashing Stake.com for things that has happened and Eddie read some of those complaints during one of his Stream sessions. Surely some compromise can be done to mediate an issue like this, so that both parties can be satisfied with the outcome.  Roll Eyes

My advice...  try and resolve your issues with Steve (he can also be a great guy, if you are nice to him) and see if you can come to some kind of agreement. (Bad blood, bring bad luck)  Wink
3811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Uk most deprived areas have the Highest number of gambling outlets. on: September 09, 2021, 06:43:09 AM
Rich people are not rich because they squander their money on gambling.... the poor to middle class are the ideal target for casinos, because these people are desperate. Just visit a brick n mortar casino close to you and observe the kind of people that are gambling there...

The majority of the people who hang out at the casinos close to me, come from the age group 65 years and older. These are the people that are possibly on pension with no opportunities to get some extra income. (They just hope to hit the Jackpot with a minimum bet, so that they can have a better life)

A lot of these people get monthly pension payments and they have loads of time to sit there and bet with minimum bets.. until they hit the big one. (Also, most of them are old ladies... because the men die earlier and they are left with his retirement income)  Roll Eyes

Moreover, someone can be a gambler, but also an investor at same time. Freebitco.in is perfect for ths kind of person because he will find all the features he needs there. By depositing, he can let his money working for him in a daily basis, while using part of this profit to gamble in another days. Everything at the same place. Very convenient, simple and accessible.

Its literally 0.01% per day so even if you have 1 btc in your account, you will get 0.0001 btc each day which is $5 at current rate. Thats a decent amount but why would you even risk depositing 1 btc into freebitco.in just to get $5 back daily? Thats 52k at current rate and no one in their right mind would do that and you will get even less if you deposit anything lower than 1 btc

I mean no offense to freebitco.in, its a great site but I just wouldnt put that much into my account
4% annual interest is the average legit percentage you will find in general. I think the real risk lies in demanding higher interest investments than those rates. Personally I haven't found anything too different from that with the exception of casino bankroll investments in past years which had potential to generate up to 50% annual interest, but that is over anyway.

I think many people don't bother about letting their money deposited in Freebitco.in, otherwise this money would be idle somewhere else generating zero income.

For me 5$ daily as extra income would be great. It's almost a wage in my country. And keep in mind if you don't spend this money the daily profits will keep increasing day by day. That is the power of compound interest, don't underestimate it.

I am doing the same thing, but the 4%+ interest is a bit low for me to take money out of other investments to make full use of this. I know Banks give more interest when you "lock" the deposit for longer periods (fixed periods) .... so it might be nice if Freebitco.in could implement something similar? (Like they did with the FUN token lock thingy)

Example : 6 months = 5% / 12 months = 6% etc... etc? ( Would that be possible to fund something like this? ) .... from what I remember, Freebitco.in is funding this from some mining activities?

With Samurai Slots, we’ve created a high variance game that requires 4 symbols for a hit during regular mode ⚔

Prepare yourself for another big Nolimit City win here

Finally the development team realized this this is one flawed game  Cheesy most of the players hate this slot some negative comments also come from internal forum
Worst experience I got 3x bonus total 30 free spins but didn't reach the x100 multiplier even this happened several times. since this game was launched the highest multiplier is 546 contrast with Scarab Spin game.

Yes, Samurai Slot was a disappointment for a lot of players, because they thought it is going to be better than Scarab ..and it was not the case, because most people report wins on Scarab spin in the chat.

Let's hope Stake developers are working on a Scarab killer Slot for the future, because Samurai Slot needs a "hara-kiri" or a serious fine tune to be a better Slot.  Roll Eyes
3814  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin payment option on: September 08, 2021, 11:19:44 AM
The young president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele are taking on the giants with this decision, because the money transmitters and the Banks are furious about this decision. (They are losing millions of Dollars in money transfer fees)

Now the IMF loans to his country might be in jeopardy, because all these Banks work together to force 3rd world countries to bend the knee before them.  https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/el-salvador-leads-world-into-cryptocurrency-bitcoin-legal-tender-2021-09-07/

"The World Bank reiterated on Tuesday it could not help El Salvador in adopting bitcoin "given environmental and transparency shortcomings," a bank spokesperson said.... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
3815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 08, 2021, 07:04:21 AM
SA has been performing shitty for quite some time now. There was nothing to suggest that they will win as their batsmen have not been performing as expected by them. The score was just 203 and they were not able to chase it, imagine how bad they have batted. You should have checked their previous performance before putting money on them.

Gone are the days when South Africa was considered as competitive as the big 3 teams. When players like Alan Donald, Shaun Pollock, Jacques Kallis and Lance Klusener were playing for them, they were the toughest side to beat. But times have changed and due to quota policy many of the promising white players have emigrated to other countries. And some of these players (Neil Wagner, Devon Conway, Marnus Labuschagne, Colin Munro, David Wiese.etc) have become the backbone of their adopted teams.

But a part of the reason why South Africa performed so poorly lies in the pitch. The surface that was prepared for the 3rd match was close to unplayable.

I agree that the "Politics" have ruined South African Cricket, because people are not chosen for teams based on their performance or skills anymore, but just on the color of their skin.

Some might say it is reversed Apartheid, but we have to agree that the previous disadvantaged people also has to come through to compete at the highest levels and some of these people are very skilled and capable to do the job... the problem is.. too many are chosen now, that are not ready for that level of competition and Politicians are only focused on numbers and ratios.

The excuse that the pitch was unplayable, should also have been a problem for the other team.. so it is the team that adapt to the conditions of the pitch ...that will win the game.  Wink
3816  Economy / Economics / Re: @Deloitte: "The fiat currency will be gone in 5 to 10 years". on: September 08, 2021, 06:45:38 AM
I think the most important word to mention is, "digital currencies" .... because they know it is not going to be a "token" or "currency" that will not be controlled and manipulated by the different governments.

Governments have an issue with the monitoring of Fiat currencies and they want more control over the movement of cash. (When cash change hands, those transactions are anonymous and that is the issue)

So to make all transactions transparent, governments will get private companies to develop a "GovCoin" that will be 100% regulated. All users of this token will be identified and all transactions will be traceable by these governments. The governments will also have full control over the "supply" of tokens, so expect it not to be a capped supply...but rather a digital version of Fiat currencies.  Roll Eyes
3817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 08, 2021, 05:38:31 AM
I want to say ...Yes, but after buying several different hardware wallets, I am not 100% sold on the idea. The reason for this is the following :

1. Be prepared to deal with "buggy" firmware upgrades. (My first experience with the Ledger Nano was horrible)
2. The proprietary software from the wallet providers can be a challenge to some. (It is not widely supported with browser plugins)
3. Crack the little screen on the hardware wallet and it is rendered useless. (Tokens are not gone, because you still have the Seed)
4. Extra cable to look after and to carry around, if you move around with your hardware wallet.

These are just some of the challenges that I experienced with my hardware wallets, but I guess it is still one of the most secure ways to store your tokens.  Tongue

Why is South Africa so shitty these days? I put some money on them against Siri Lanka ... hoping that they would play much harder... to not have to playoff to qualify, but they never turned up for the bloody game!

I thought that would be a sure thing.... but it is very disappointing.  Angry   I hope they will turn up for their next bloody game or I will write them off for the future. (Politics are messing with the team selection and it shows)  Sad Sad Sad
3819  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you notice how corporations took over the internet ? on: September 07, 2021, 11:16:32 AM
The Social media scene has become toxic, with large corporations censoring contributions that does not suit their agenda or the agenda by the people (government) that controls them.

Let's look at ICO's and how it was handled as an example : Facebook and other large Social media platforms, simply implemented a "blanket ban" on all Crypto currency advertisements  during the ICO boom period. They did not even consider filtering legitimate Crypto companies from illegal ones. (Not even Coinbase or other large companies were allowed to advertise on their platform, even though some of these companies were very heavily regulated)  Roll Eyes

The shift has definitely happened, from where the Internet was used as an educational and productive platform ....to a platform that are being used as a propaganda tool for people to distribute misinformation. (You have full-time paid operations, where individuals are sitting with 20 phones and just clicking on "likes" to generate and to distribute wrong information)  Angry
3820  Economy / Economics / Re: China cracking down innovation on: September 07, 2021, 07:21:27 AM
I think the Chinese government has no problem with the big companies making a lot of money, but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) just fired a shot over the head of Alibaba to remind them that they are still a Socialist system and they have to share some of their wealth.  Wink

The bigger picture is this... Make a lot of Money, so that you can share a lot more to the socialist system. (Donations / Charity / Bribes etc... etc.)  Grin   ( efficiency, equity, economic freedom, full employment, economic growth, security, and stability )  Roll Eyes
