3841  Other / Off-topic / Re: John Fury didn't sign the contract but wants double payment from Jake Paul on: March 02, 2023, 04:16:38 PM
Obviously Tommy Fury didn't sign the contract so it wasn't valid.  If Tommy lost then his Dad wouldn't be saying that Tommy needs to pay.  This is just a troll move to stick it to Jake Paul one more time.

I was a bit surprised to read that Logan Paul now says he wants to avenge his brother Jake's loss to Tommy by knocking Tommy Fury out himself.  Personally, it seems to me like Jake is the better boxer, but maybe that's a casual take.  Logan probably sizes up better length wise which is what hurt Jake in the fight, but I still think Jake has a lot more power and boxing skills.  This drama certainly isn't over yet...
3842  Economy / Gambling / Re: shame on the stake on: March 02, 2023, 04:14:15 PM
good evening everyone. Today I ran into a problem that made me ashamed of such a well-known casino as Steak.

I bet on table tennis, at the moment the score became 10-9 in favor of the one I bet on. I immediately understood that if the score becomes 10-10, then I will redeem the bet (with a score of 10-9, bets are closed in this casino)
the score became 10-10 and I immediately clicked on the redemption.
as a result, the site thought for 7 seconds, and while these 7 seconds went by, the score became already 10-11 and I was not allowed to redeem the bet. just because their website is lagging. support did not help me, they just unsubscribed

" I am sorry but there is nothing that we can do in these situations, when our odds provider rejects cashout attempt all bets are being settled per the final result as stated in the sportsbook rules."

I just want people to know that there may be bugs like this on this site and support won't support you.

This is what can happen with live betting.  I don't think Stake is at fault or owes you anything.  Who knows if you were using a slow VPN or internet connection.  Maybe the broadcast you were watching had a delay on it to catch cursing or whatever else...  Maybe the odds provider had a couple second delay in processing as a result of any number of things...  These companies have hundreds of millions of dollars on the line if things don't work as they should so you know when it comes to live betting they're going to take their time to make sure that all the bets are on the up and up.  I'm sorry for your loss here, but if you're live betting one point to the next then you should take a look at being a little too hands on with your bets.

Durant and the Suns are hot, they lead double digits now in the second quarter and Durant looks flawless with 12 points already. Probably he just excited to play again and the Suns are giving him that much time.

Probably easy 20+ points game for him and most likely a blow out as everyone as expected as they are the favorite in this game.

edit: 40-26 is the score.

I'm bummed I can't watch the game but it's nice to see the Suns on top and Durant seemingly playing well.  Booker is still the one leading the team in shots, but I don't expect that to be the case forever.  Durant shooting 2/3 from 3 point and 6/9 from the field currently is a good sign that he's back to feeling like his old self from the injury.  Chris Paul doesn't seem to be doing all that much looking at the stat sheet but I guess it doesn't matter if they're winning.  It looks like Booker, Ayton, and Durant might all end the game with 20+ points.  I suspect they'll be a pretty hard team to beat when that happens.
3844  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S17 Pro - 0.025 BTC obo on: March 01, 2023, 06:56:29 PM
Lowering my asking price again to 0.025 BTC plus shipping.  I've only received a couple of offers so far.  It seems like there's a lull currently in the mining business.  I might have to turn to a traditional marketplace to sell this or unpack it and get it mining again.  I'd hoped to find a new home before the weather starts heating up as it gets pretty hot where I live.  Hopefully this lower price is good enough to bring some perspective buyers off the sidelines.  Smiley

Let me know if you want pictures or have any questions.  My personal message box is wide open for you.

LOL.  I clicked here hoping someone would make a joke.  As for my contribution...  Prove it with the images/link philipma1957 or it didn't happen!  Smiley

More seriously though, I get all sorts of crazy PMs all the time from newbies.  It's best to just add them to the blocked PM list and ignore them.  Mine is quite substantial.  Calling out bad behavior like this on this forum is how you end up with psychos trolling you for the rest of your life here because you called out their alt account scams...  Some people are batshit crazy and they can masquerade around here like normal users.
3846  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BEWARE of FAKE CASASCIUS COINS on: March 01, 2023, 06:46:40 PM
How easy are these fakes to actually find if you want them?  I was thinking that I never get to see my Casascius collection.  It's basically like I don't own them.  It would be great to have a Casascius coin to display in a frame or something like that in my house where I could actually see it and be happy but obviously I'm not going to hang something extremely valuable.  Maybe artworks with Casascius fakes in them could be a nice thing to have and not have to worry about displaying because they aren't really worth anything.  Good idea or promoting forgeries?  You be the judge.  Still, I think it would be cool as long as the fakes were at least indistinguishable to a casual.
3847  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why we should note sell our votes on: March 01, 2023, 06:42:09 PM
I'd be willing to sell my vote as long as the people buying it were going to want me to vote for the same person I would have anyway.  Thinking about it...  With all the money now going into lawsuits about voting machines and crooked politicians, buying votes, etc...  Maybe the answer is to start offering people personal tax breaks for voting.  Imagine something like the minimum deduction on your taxes goes from $16K to $20K if you vote...  That would certainly help low income people be motivated to vote instead of selling theirs...  It seems like a good idea for something I just thought of now.  If large organizations are going to start buying votes, maybe it's time to start incentivizing voters to vote for themselves.
3848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 01, 2023, 06:38:05 PM
But, moving back with the Lakers, they need to win. Even without LeBron, they need to find ways.

Ya, I wish them good luck with that.  At least Anthony Davis is healthy for the moment.  That gives them a chance.  No idea how the big man is going to stay healthy playing his heart out through the end of the season and god forbid the playoffs if it comes to that...

In other Lakers news...  I'm reading reports now that Patrick Beverly is claiming he asked for a trade from the Lakers.  I think I'll have to take that with a grain of salt and await confirmation from the Lakers GM on that one.  Maybe he did and thought the Lakers were a sinking ship that wasn't going to make the playoffs.  I remain skeptical.
3849  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Bookstore on: March 01, 2023, 05:58:48 PM
Appreciate the project!

Suppose if OP were to accept direct bitcoin payment, does this mean he/she have to ask permission from the copyright owner to be able to sell paperback and ebook copies?

From what I see, I think from start-up business standpoint, this would be very difficult to consider especially that there are tons of bitcoin related books available in the market and contacting every author would be extremely time-consuming.

I think OP would be acting as a reseller. Basically a middleman that takes payment in Bitcoin and then orders the book from Amazon or whatever for the customer where OP would likely have to make payment using fiat. He could charge a markup for this. I don’t think any special permits or licenses would be necessary for this. Maybe even a purse.io integration would be possible.
3850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 01, 2023, 05:55:42 PM
I never hunted for airdrops. I’ve found that the best ones usually thrust themselves upon you for owning BTC. Drops (or more accurately forks) like BCH were extremely nice for Bitcoin holders. Then their were the airdrops you actually had to take part in like HEX which also turned out to be a nice free gift… Nowadays I think airdrops you hunt for are mostly scams that try to lure you into their ecosystem.
3851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: America Wants to buy Bitcoin 20% adults own it, while 29% willing to buy! on: March 01, 2023, 05:53:00 PM
I think the technical savy people who are willing to take custody of their coins have for the most part already bought in. The challenges ahead for Bitcoin are going to be security and ease of use for the end user. This is why a spot ETF is a must for this market to take the next step. When non-tech savy people can add BTC to their stock portfolios, that’s when things will get wild.
3852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt. Gox will release bitcoin in march - what's next? on: March 01, 2023, 05:49:44 PM
The deadline to register payee information is in mid-March. This was pushed back from early January. I don’t think there’s any chance payouts come in March. There’s still a lot of work to be done and with the US forcing exchanges to close accounts of Americans left and right, I imagine even getting the payouts to their appropriate creditors is going to be a hassle.
3853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 01, 2023, 05:47:29 PM
Sometimes I look over the list of recent public bets and follow the crazy ones with long odds for this particular reason. Sure, betting sports I don’t understand with crazy long odds isn’t a moneymaker but you never know. Would be fun to follow somebody and hit a x1000+ bet sometime. Even if it’s only a dollar or two on the line.

Kevin Durant plays basketball today for the first time in months for a brand new team. I’m not sure I’ll be able to watch the game as it’s being televised on some pretty small networks. I’m actually surprised that ESPN didn’t pick up the game. Hopefully I can find it somewhere or I’ll have to settle for highlights. Tonight is definitely a big night for the NBA. Durant is back!

^ No pick for the Suns game? With no LaMelo Ball out there and Durant added to the Suns I think that should be an easy win for Phoenix. Hopefully Durant plays and finds his way into the offense without things being too sloppy. If so, they should easily beat the Ball-less Hornets. A shame for the Ball family that both LaMelo and Lonzo are currently out with injuries.
3856  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hackers stolen Last Pass users passwords and sensitivw information on: February 28, 2023, 10:05:42 PM
It was pretty clear to anyone (I would think anyway) that it was an absolutely horrible idea to put a ton of user passwords for different sites all in one place.  I always wondered what sort of person would think that this was a good idea.  The cynic in me might even believe the entire company was created just to amass passwords which would later be sold and a "hack" would be blamed.  I have no idea where their revenue came from because it was a horrible idea from the start so I never looked into it, but I'd imagine that selling the info they had was much more profitable than keeping it safe.  Sometimes you have to use your brain a little and think about people's motivations.  I can't think of any good motivation for wanting everyone's passwords for every site...
3857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wenbin spoke about the United States on: February 28, 2023, 09:58:38 PM
Lots of talk now going around about China attacking the United States homeland as a result of interference in foreign affairs.  It's quite possible that for many Americans, this war could mean a change in their way of life that they will never get back.  If China attacks the United States as a result of Joe Biden's destructive leadership, the world may never be the same.  Instead of unifying for things like becoming a multiplanetary species, we're going to be spending our resources and talent on killing each other.  It's a shame, but things are already taking shape.  Elon Musk has been warned to stop pushing Covid theories and I wouldn't doubt if Tesla has it's activities in China negatively effected as a result.  WWIII is taking shape before our eyes, and unless you think all of our trains are suddenly unable to stay on the tracks, it's already here.
3858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 28, 2023, 09:48:48 PM
There is already news that LeBron will miss at least two weeks because of a foot injury. That's too bad for the Lakers, as now they are very close to climbing up to 11th place in the Western Conference standings to qualify for the play-in tournament. Honestly, it's hard to predict how the Lakers will perform without LeBron for the next two weeks, but I hope they can avoid a long losing streak.

If that's the case I'd rule out Lakers in play-off competition. Undecided They already had a low chance but without LeBron they can't win most of the games. I expect minimum 40 wins for 10th spot. Lakers need to get more than %50 win rate until the end of the regular season. Unless AD performs extra extra and some other players step up, it's very hard to see them in play-off picture.

Yes, saw that news too, and it's going to hurt the Lakers chances to make it to the playoffs. When you think that everything is working on their end, and we saw James still plays during their massive comeback and then limping out, and this could be the price to pay for that comeback of them.

And it says that he will be out indefinitely, so no timeline for him and it could be worst that what we thought initially. On the other hand, this is the chance of AD or from any of those new players to show their talent. D'Lo and James are already out, so someone will have to step up like Vanderbilt, Rui, Dennis and Malik.

Ya, I'm not expecting them to continue their amazing play since the Westbrook trade, but the new blood is certainly looking to prove themselves and this will be their opportunity.  Maybe they'll surprise some people and stay winning, but the loss of LeBron would hurt any team even though he's getting old as hell.  I think after tonight's game we'll have an idea of what they'll look like while he's out.  There are plenty of players on that team complaining they aren't getting enough minutes though, so surely not everybody will be disappointed that LeBron is going to be out for a while.  Some of them might be quite happy to absorb those shots/minutes.
3859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: February 28, 2023, 09:05:24 PM
I think a lot of people likely lost money on the Jake Paul loss.  I lost a bit.  Nothing I care about, but nobody likes to lose, right?

As for Drake losing $400K, I doubt that matters at all to him.  Likely he's betting with house money from his advertising deal anyway so I honestly don't think he cares even a little bit.

The big winner of the night remains Jake Paul though...  They're saying he's going to take home $30,000,000.00 for his role in the fight, while Tommy is expected to earn about 1/4 of that.  I'm guessing they'll do a rematch, unless Tommy decided to fight KSI instead.  In any rematch I would expect to see Tommy get a bigger cut of the prize, as he's showed he is now the better fighter.
3860  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you have engaged in the war if you were the Ukrainian President? on: February 28, 2023, 04:18:39 PM
After reading through some articles online I realized that despite the negative effects of war, there are still positive outcomes that can be achieved through war.
This brought my attention to the Russian Ukraine war that lasted about 1 year now.

Some positive effects that result from war include "the correction of injustices, the defeat of a problematic government, advancement in technology and medicine, and a reduction of unemployment".

1. My question now is, has Ukraine achieved any of these positive outcomes in the course of the war?

2. As President, would you engage in a war to achieve any of these positive outcomes?

Perhaps I'm a bit cynical, but I think the positives of the war from the Ukrainian perspective include receiving trillions in dollars of aid from the United States, advanced weaponry, their enemies weakened, and better deals moving forward to help their country prosper.  They of course now become the center of the proxy war between NATO and Russia, but I assume their leaders are being compensated under the table with riches that the average man can only dream of.

It would be hard to say what I would do if I were the President of Ukraine.  With the information I have, of course I wouldn't have gone to war.  I don't have any information about how much their leader is getting promised and how much money is flowing under the table to him, so it's tough to answer the question realistically.
