3841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: https://myfundsback.com/ on: January 22, 2021, 10:13:01 AM
Are there any legit profesionnel or company that can really help to get the funds back or is just impossible to get anything back?

thank you
If your funds have been scammed by another group or by an individual, a thief won't send it back because they'll spend it right away.

AFAIK, there is no existing service that will help you recover scammed funds, unless it is the SEC tracks them down.
3842  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin viable? on: January 22, 2021, 02:59:03 AM
If many miners stop mining, you'll see a newer batch of miners taking the advantage by that time. As you see the rate of mined btc per block gets lower due to halving, the price of bitcoin increases in return.

The difficulty will be lesser if the idea you had which will make no miners left. But that would open up an opportunity for another players to come in and get to mine bitcoin. Don't you worry, it is highly unlikely that miners would stop mining.
3843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Alert: Get ready to deal with FUDS about Bitcoin on: January 22, 2021, 01:51:46 AM
It is under $30k as per checking. The panic sellers always lose and it has never a good strategy to counter the dips unless you sold as stop loss with not that much to lose.

These articles that says about the negative news about bitcoin just like the most recent about double spending which has been proven to be a false claim. Don't buy all of those negative nees but instead buy the dip.
3844  Economy / Economics / Re: In 2021 to 2022 you decide your life and wealth on: January 21, 2021, 12:37:19 PM
In 2021 to 2022
If learn and try to push yourself hard enough.you can be very rich.
Isn't this advice applies to every year?

Or very poor  2021 to 2022 people will decide who they want be.
It's a choice to become from the next years to come. If no action is taken or you'll still not doing anything that will help yourself grow, you'll stay as is where you are.

By the 2024 everybody must have decidede are they super rich or very poor .

What will you choose ?
You can choose to become rich in many aspects and definitions. We don't want to remain poor but it also depends on your capacity and way of living.
3845  Economy / Speculation / Re: My opinion about btc price and crypto on: January 21, 2021, 10:46:07 AM
We have january usually its time When lowest prices
So on the Long Term we have support like
For btc 35k and for ETH 1300.
You're already wrong with your opinion. As of now,

Bitcoin = $32,735

Ethereum = $1,250

There's already no accuracy with what you're saying so that opinion of yours have already failed you.

All we need to do is to add 10x becouse 10x times prices goes up.
Add? is that easy for us to add 10x as the price? you're not just buying some foods in the supermarket.

In one year  minimum price of btc 350 000$
Minimum price of ETH 13 000$

Its grazy but its real
Can be said as an unrealistic prediction despite the high volatility that ETH and BTC have.
3846  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Binance really that bad? on: January 21, 2021, 09:34:03 AM
I'll take those comments with a grain of salt.

Those comments could be from competitors with the same business as Binance is. The comment section there isn't controllable and they find it a way to at least give stain to Binance's reputation.

Or it's also real experiences from those users that have disappointed experience which could also be true. Nevertheless, it's your experience that can prove that it's either good or bad.
3847  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc Temporarily Disabled Witdrawal?? on: January 20, 2021, 12:43:43 PM
What does the form is all about? I'm sad to say that there were issues with hitbtc that has been posted in the forum, just look to their announcement thread, you'll see people complaining about them.

Their reputation through the forum isn't good anymore and it's long overdue.

This is their announcement thread: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange

The account isn't active since last year.
3848  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger nano S down ? on: January 20, 2021, 11:36:17 AM
Nope, not on me.

Based on my experience, I just used the back USB of my PC and connected my Ledger Nano S and that seems to be working fine. I have dealt with a problem when I'm about to send funds out of my Nano and it seems to be an issue that just existed and new to me.

DARKDAYS , Thanks for the help ! I went from version 1.3.2 to now 1.6.1 ,and ledger live says I'm up to date .
I can see my account and all the transactions I made in 2018 .
So It all seems good .
EXEPT that I'm unable to see the balance in my acct.

Under profiles or maybe my BTC 1 acct it says "total balance" but it doesn't show anything but todays price of 1 BTC .
A few months ago I checked on my now destroyed old laptop and ledger manager told me I had a partial BTC in the account .
I downloaded Ledger live now is it not showing account balances ?
Sorry to bother you .
There's just a delay showing the balances, you need to wait a bit for it or just scroll it up and down until the balance shows. I used to experience that and it's all good which I've just checked a while ago.

Welcome to bitcointalk, zamabet.

Being newly made, I see on the stats below that there are recent games with names of users and the amount that they've won/lose. There is a lack of details as to what cryptocurrency they've lost. Like for the first one, it shows a thumbs up and "won 13.44" what?

USD? BTC? ETH? trx?
At first glimpse i thought it was Dollars but just to have those small bets seems like very few to happen ,
so i assume that those are Crypto valuated bets ?

Thumbs Up and Down is a declaration of the Bet result i guess , either Thumbs up a Wins and Down for losses.
There are some Points that they may Add with our help by pointing those out , and this will prove also their true intentions in having this gambling sites because if they will act
sooner and allow those recommendation to be on their site then we can assume their legitimacy and seriousness in having the site operated worth of trust.
With the amount, it can be said of dollars but he said that there are supported cryptos and that's why those are the coins that I've thought of. But it is understandable because they are new and likely they are still in the molding phase.

Yes, those thumbs down and up mean lose and win respectively.

Quote
That's what I've noticed on the lack of labeling or even an icon from the crypto that they've played with. And I think those usernames are your tests.
I'll Bookmark their site for daily evaluation , to see if those bets are from Bot or legit accounts and how their progress and fairness as well.
It is what I think, those are tests accounts which are made by them. It's rare to see a newly launched casino that will have 5-10 users already. And look at their menu tab/pane at the top left, it doesn't contain a lot but only home.

3851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reinvest initial investment, or keep profits? on: January 20, 2021, 04:16:01 AM
If no longer confident of reinvesting it on bitcoin because you already have it and the initial amount you have isn't going to be used in the future, what you can invest is to look for another asset that you think is good for you in the long term. It can be in the crypto market again in the form of altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin, BNB, and other altcoins.

And in traditional investments, stocks, bonds, p2p lending, paintings, gold, precious metals, and other assets that appreciate instead of depreciating. You have a lot of choices and I think you are doing it correctly because you will not spend that money you got initially on things that are unnecessary.
3852  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of your total assets would you rather invest in bitcoin? on: January 19, 2021, 11:07:14 AM
Assuming that it's a bubble, then it has to burst soon.
Not necessarily--bubbles can go on for years, you know.  Just look at the internet stock bubble circa 1995-2000, and that's just one of many that went on for a long time.

But what's the question here: whether we're in a bubble or how much our total asset portfolio should be in bitcoin?  If it's the latter, I'd say around 5%, but only if you can afford to take that amount of risk in the first place.  It's not as though bitcoin is an historically stable investment.  If you're a young person with a good (and stable) job, you could probably invest more than 5% and not have it sting if bitcoin crashes--but you've got to have the stomach for it either way, because owning bitcoin is like riding a roller coaster.

I don't keep anywhere near 5% of my measly investment money in bitcoin, even though I'm a fan of it.  I'm a bit older and can't afford to lose what I've got.
You're wise in deciding that it shouldn't go more than 5% with the factor of your age. I've seen the same thought of how much they would invest depending on their status, age, and take on bitcoin. I wasn't able to witness the internet stock bubble during those years because I was still young by that time, it's a great share of history to know about it. Thanks.

As per coinmarketcap.com, the total bitcoins mined is 18,603,550 which leads to a remaining unmined bitcoins of 2.3M. Considering that bitcoin is a limited supply cryptocurrency, that's already a very few amount while it's starting to become known worldwide. But due to halving, it is slowing down which is assumed the last bitcoin will be mined by 2140.
You also have to consider the lost coins because there seems to be a lot floating around the void never to be seen again.
Yup, those lost coins forever make bitcoin rarer.

Assuming that it's a bubble, then it has to burst soon. But with its adoption rate that we see based from the news and the scenario that we had right now, I doubt it that it's a bubble.
Not all bubbles burst really fast, considering the waves in the bitcoin market back then with all the sharp turns and curves, I think that in a way it is a bubble.
Yup, that's what I've just learned earlier with what I've quoted above. I thought of it as not a bubble since the "assumed bubble on 2017" has burst and since a year ago, we've been down. With all the news of adoption, fundamentals, and acceptance of the society on it, that sums up to the natural growth of it.
3853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why would anyone use a betting broker? Have you tried it? on: January 19, 2021, 09:16:31 AM
I have never done that and won't probably do it. What's the sense of betting with a broker if you can do it alone. We have the same thought OP as to why we have to use them if things are easier to be done by ourselves.

If they have minimum deposit which seems to be high for an individual, I'll go with those casinos or bookies that are allowed in my jurisdiction. We have various choice and I don't think that there's a need for me to try it.

Looks like you didn't understand the whole point of using a betting broker.

There are gamblers, especially those hardcore sports bettors, who are strict in terms of choosing odds that even .5 to 1% increase matters. In fiat gambling, that was necessary. If you will look into odds comparison sites, they like to bet on the best odds they can get. It's not comfortable if they will sign up at different websites just to get the best odds. These gamblers want to have a sports betting account that can bet at the best odds in one click.

That's where using the broker is an advantage as right in front of their screen, they can choose from various websites offering a good deal.

For us, who are not used to use a betting broker, it will be easy to say that why do we need this if we can bet for ourselves.
I thank you for that explanation about the use and advantage of the broker. As I've said I have no experience with it and it's good that you have explained it well to me to understand how it works and what's the good side of it.

In my understanding through your explanation, it saves time and you'll get the best odds of them all which is being supported/listed through that broker. And each of those percentage differences does really matter a lot for those hardcore bettors who bet huge amounts for games that they like to bet on.
3854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you want to but with BTC? Or for what to accept it as payment? on: January 19, 2021, 07:25:59 AM
No need for further debate, it's both. If the owner of the bitcoin wants to hold it for investment purposes and he sees it as an asset, why stop him doing so? and if someone uses it for transactions like what we usually do, then it has to be done for that purpose.

The thing about most of these commenters is that they probably aren't even doing either. Just confused people coming into Bitcoin and maybe keeping it at exchanges hoping to sell for a big profit (and to rebuy later).

Those already sold on Bitcoin for whatever purposes it serves for them are happily using it. As you said, there's no debate, and no point to the debate. Mystifies me why people get upset over those who only use it (or not) for X purpose.
They probably want those people that are using it against the purpose that they want to be the same as theirs. There were the same discussions in the past and still there are people who are upset that tells it that it should be only used as purpose number one instead of using it dually.

Unfortunately, there are still too few people using btc as payment, the main problem now is this.
I wouldn't say that as few. We're in the adoption period and it's increasing, with the help of media, institutions, and other personalities that are giving exposure to bitcoin. It gives an idea to those people what bitcoin is and be it as a payment or an investment.
3855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long will this scam go on? on: January 19, 2021, 05:02:33 AM
It might somehow stop in the future when most of the investors agree with the same view about crypto investments. From 2018- mid 2019, many have stopped investing to Icos and ieos.

But when the yfi projects have came, then many investors became agressive again and active. Maybe it will be a cycle of being inactive, passive and then active again if there is a new trend.
3856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance not paying competition winners. on: January 19, 2021, 02:14:47 AM
I'm not so sure if there's an actual Telegram Channel as an official Binance "South Africa". Usually these kind of Telegram groups were made by just another user and adding the name of the exchanges that they usually use to attract more users.

AFAIK, Binance supports are professional to address issues that has been sent to them and if you think that this is inappropriate or try to verify about that in South Africa, if it's an official person from Binance and if that group is legit. Submit a request and ask Binance through:

https://binance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Made out some search and it seems that they do really have that Binance Africa Team. (This one is affiliate though) but to see it is published out on binance.com/blog itself. So to presume that it is legit.
https://www.binance.com/en/blog/421499824684901181/Binance-Africa-Affiliate-Program-Launches

When it comes to their official telegram channel then they do only stated https://t.me/binanceexchange
They havent mentioned out about that Binance africa TG.

Also, the way that they do respond then it isnt really professional at all.
Uhm yeah, seems legit. And with that blog link you have shared, I've gone through with it and saw that there's an actual TG channel for Binance South Africa posted below the article. That has 1,191 current members which is the same as the TG channel shared by OP.

Join our South Africa Telegram community

With those details that we've got, seems legit but very unprofessional.  Undecided

Does anyone here know how to retrieve email files from aol? Just to reiterate, I do have access to the computers, and laptops.....
Let's assume that there's a restore point from those years, you can try to go back on that time through system restore but you have to make one first for the current time so you can revert it back to present time.

But if that doesn't help, you can ask this question on aol's support if there's a way doing that. I've tried checking my email from a different provider and I got the same situation as you, I can no longer see the old files/folders saved and emails I've received since 2010.

What do you think about BTC payments? Is it a coin just to hodl or something that can and should be used for transactions?
No need for further debate, it's both. If the owner of the bitcoin wants to hold it for investment purposes and he sees it as an asset, why stop him doing so? and if someone uses it for transactions like what we usually do, then it has to be done for that purpose.

Like what it's made being as a decentralized cryptocurrency. No one can dictate you which use you want to spend it for. Use it as both if you're completely doing both or just any of those.

Depends on the owner.
