3861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking NEWS: SEC, Bitcoin now legal (a security) in Nigeria. on: September 22, 2020, 12:21:30 PM
Good news but from what I can see, institutions need to comply with the customer data sharing with the government. It is a conundrum for the people as the government needs to impose unfavorable condition. I hope that there will be a further development regarding this topic because in my country, the financial institutions and the government does not prioritize it.
3862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc future on: September 22, 2020, 10:48:03 AM
I wouldn’t worry about btc , it’s been going 10 + yrs now  Smiley
I’m more worried about you ! Just by checking your post history- you seem rather annoyed with life !

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2640926;sa=showPosts

My advise - for what it’s worth - take a step back , go for a nice long walk in the sunshine and maybe move on to a different forum .
Peace  Smiley
Do not use wise words against him bro. I agree taking a step back will help, it helps you see things in bigger perspective. Why post the demise of bitcoin when it has been a decade since its inception.

Forest walks is a good therapy, it helps you calm your mind.
3863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin society on: September 22, 2020, 08:53:25 AM
I'd rather call it the crypto community which comprises of bitcoin maximalists, shitcoin maximalists, and those in the middle. In this community, you see a lot of infighting. One group accusing the other crypto as scams and insecure. The other group counters and calls the other as old tech  Grin

Those who view crypto as easy money are not really part of the community, they are merely passerby. Those who see crypto like bitcoin as a scam without even trying to learn do not belong here also, they're just spectators.
Society is too far fetch so I second your statement. But one thing that I can refute is that anyone who has an inkling connection to bitcoin is part of the community, good or bad. It is just sad that these bad apples in the crypto bucket is what is keeping other people from taking a glance into our community. Hopefully, someday the bad apples will slowly diminish if not completely lost and that in theory will clean the face of the community for the mainstream to look at and not be repulsed.
3864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for salary on: September 22, 2020, 07:54:46 AM
Using bitcoin as a payment method of payment of salary, is a very big welcome development. Because we are era of technology, which Blockchain technology has made everything transpires for every given transaction payroll. And is more reliable and recorded... Hopefully government we soon adopt Bitcoin in a very short period of time.
There are some companies that do just that but they are still countable, in my country no big regulations are being proposed regarding cryptocurrency as a salary. The closest thing that I can think of bitcoin as salary is streamers accepting crypto donations ( I do not know if that counts as one but some streamers are considering it as a full time job). My hopes are high for bitcoin adoption or cryptocurrency adoption in general in my country. The only problem that I could think of is whether the employee contributions such as 401k or insurance will be deducted in the employees bitcoin/cryptocurrency oriented salary with cryptocurrency.
3865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why mixers? on: September 22, 2020, 06:35:18 AM
That's why you use mixers. Good mixers will completely break the chain between inputs and outputs.

Why are mixers legal? The only purpose I find on them is to money launder. They are literally useless if you don't have anything to hide.
Why are privacy coins like Monero legal? They are even more suitable for money laundering than Bitcoin. Privacy is on of the basis human rights.
As long as there are people with ill intent then that will be a problem. Privacy is important when it comes to online finances and the crimes that have been perpetrated does not outweigh the benefits of anonymity. I agree that money laundering is a big problem but if investigations and audits were efficient then they can apprehend who's behind the laundering.
3866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When we think that crypto is being used by criminals to move tons of money on: September 22, 2020, 04:37:20 AM
I believe that all banks have that part of their business that they hide from the public - dirty money is also attractive to them as long as they make a profit from it. After all, in the event that someone discovers them, they pay a fine and continue to operate as if nothing had happened.

The problem about banks getting slammed down because of illegal activities is that they have a very powerful connection to the people in power. The profit is too big for this banks to let that malicious oppurtunity go and the people backing these banks is profiting too. The sad reality is that most economy has a very close tie with banks which makes it more problematic in the first place. Kind of like a parasitic yet symbiotic relationship.
3867  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [NEW] Netflix phishing e-mail on: September 22, 2020, 01:34:41 AM

3868  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Hackers Nab $16 Million Worth of BTC Through Wallet Exploit on: September 13, 2020, 03:57:58 AM
3869  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Scammer arestado anak pala ni General on: September 12, 2020, 10:42:34 AM
Imagine kung hindi siya anak ng taong may koneksyon, sensational tong kaso na to sa Pinas, bago sa pandinig ng masa ang bitcoin scam so marami ang mahohook sa story, in hindsight good thing na kaunti lang ang nakakaalam kasi image nanaman ng bitcoin ang maaapektuhan. Mabuti at nahuli na siya.
3870  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs. Bitcoin on: September 12, 2020, 05:57:26 AM
Real estate promises big money but the constant taxation in ownership is very bad for someone's finances, with bitcoin, just buy it and you just have to hold it and wait for a favorable price to sell and profit, in real estate, you either have to maintain the property or not build something and let it there to get its prices soar which only happens for a long time, not to mention the status of real estate in your country, the bubble might have popped and you will be selling without breaking even. My suggestion for real estate is that when you have one, live in it.
3871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insensitivity in analyzing/reading scam/problem on: September 11, 2020, 05:06:21 AM
There is nothing wrong with being knowledgeable when it comes to the products you are buying, the problem is we appear naive to these scammers and this gives them the confidence to play their schemes, in my opinion I would say just be aware, when you see that a scam is happening and you need to be imposing or intimidating when the nature calls for it, most of them can't handle tense situations so when that happens they do not know what to do because it might have been their first time that someone saw through their schemes. Be confident and aware, it will help you.

3873  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: September 07, 2020, 09:17:22 AM
There are a lot of factors that play regarding progression in India, their population will inflate surely and the solution will not be easily formulated as the country have a very strict religion and everyone should respect that. With correlation to the inflation of population, the index for pollution will also increase. If the continuous tension between Pakistan and India will not be resolved in the coming years it will also affect but based on articles I have read about the opening of Kartarpur corridor, I hope this will be a step to a peace between these two nations. I am not an expert in economics but with the problems I present above, if they are not resolved or alleviated at least, then India will be having a problem.
3874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Data file recovery on: September 07, 2020, 12:55:19 AM
Been using data recovery for my things back in the day when I was none the wiser, right now I am being smart about it, I always put a backup of important files. I highly recommend that you guys use cloud storages and offline storages (thumb drive, memory stick, memory card), this saved my ass so many times and I can never recommend it enough.
3875  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bangko Sental ng Pilipinas on Crypto adoption on: September 06, 2020, 05:43:03 AM
Man, wala akong problema sa adoption ng cryptocurrency sa Pinas pero with the current political climate right now, alanganin ang community natin, either shitty regulations ang ihahain nila which will be unfavorable sa atin which defeats the purpose of cryptocurrency in the first place or ang mas malala gatasan ang community natin kasi nga wala na daw pera ang gobyerno.
3876  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bitcoin Revolution Scam on: September 06, 2020, 04:37:40 AM
Tiwala lang aangat yan, good time to buy in my opinion.
3879  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps on: September 05, 2020, 12:40:58 PM
-
Good Practice To Avoid Installing Fake Wallet Apps (as mentioned in the link below)
  • Install only apps with 100k+ installs
  • Look for the rating. At least four-star+ rating
  • Read the user reviews
Nah, it doesn't guarantee the entirety ng legitimacy ng isang wallet. Well good factor na rin sa mga dapat tingnan pero there is something more into it pa. Just so you know, rating and reviews can be manipulated by them rin. So don't even dare to download an app merely basing with these categories.

3880  Other / Off-topic / Re: Robot Vacuum Cleaner on: September 05, 2020, 05:29:22 AM
Ah you mean Roomba? They pretty easy to operate. Of course, it is still up to you whether you want one, choose one that matches your budget but the quality is not skimped.
