3881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World War III & Bitcoin on: February 24, 2022, 07:32:46 AM
I said US (or anyone else for that matter) is never going to get involved in this war to lead to WWIII (the title of this topic). You think US is going to risk world wide Nuclear Armageddon for Ukraine?

I have responded similarly in a thread in the politics section.

I hope that now the forum will not be full of threads with the title WWIII.

No, I don't think they are going to be so stupid as to start dropping atomic bombs because of the conflict in Ukraine. At most we could have the beginning of another cold war but these are different times.
3882  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WW III ? on: February 24, 2022, 07:27:48 AM
I doubt very much that this is the beginning of a WWIII, at most the beginning of another cold war but I don't think it is even that.

It must be clear that a WWIII will soon end with atomic bombs on both sides, and although I do not trust much in any of the leaders involved, I doubt that they are such imbeciles as to kill humanity by playing to see who gets more cocky.
3883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin likely won't recover until 2025 on: February 24, 2022, 07:08:56 AM
can't wait to see the price of bitcoin falls down to 20k level as this was my target value to re invest all my funds in bank  Grin

I will risk everything that i have once this price reached back again.

You do it anyway, but what usually happens in these cases is that if it goes down to that level, the people who said they would buy at $20K, shit their pants and don't buy for fear of it going down further.

Imagine it gets to that level. It would be one step below $20K, and therefore, it would be the first time in a cycle that it goes below the top of the previous cycle. It would break all the schemes. Couple that with the fact that ATH this cycle, at least so far, has been relatively low, and I think a lot of people would panic if we hit $20K.

3884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEVER BE IN A HURRY on: February 24, 2022, 07:00:27 AM
earlier 2013 when I first heard about Bitcoin I found it interesting because I have a friend  who have ideas and love to engage himself on anything about crypto so any time I any around him, he always talks about Bitcoin how he buy and sell online and also makes profit and I'm the kind of person that like anything that will fetch me money so I decided to give a try, he showed me some app to download where I can safe my coins and also told me what to avoid in other not to loss my coins, so I but some amount of Bitcoin from him. I continue making research, joining into crypto groups on  social media such as telegram, Facebook and Instagram, after a week or so a message just pop up on my Instagram asking me if I have BTC for sell, what is my rate and how do I receive payment and I really yes I have BTC for sell and I receive payment through PayPal, but I can't trade with you because I don't trust, he replied and said he don't trust me either that there is a group in telegram where trading is safer with the use of Escrow, he sent me the link and his name on telegram and also request for my name too, I join the telegram group and we located each other on the group so he started asking how many BTC do I have for sell and that he is going to buy at good rate while he was busy asking questions I was busy going through the members in the group if I will see anyone I know but has God may do it I say a friend in the members group but he was not online but I called him on phone, I told him the reason of me calling him and he said never you try to do any transaction on the group they are all scammers that immediately I send my BTC to the escrow wallet address and it was confirmed Successful I will be automatically block and cleared from the group that he was once a victim but he use another number to join in other to  safe person not to be a victim by chatting them privately and also finding prove on how to report the group.
That is how I escaped from being scammed.

Did you by any chance have a triple espresso before writing this? There's a thing called periods and paragraphs.

As for what you say, you are partly right that one should not be in a hurry in investment matters, and, in fact, many scams get the sucker in a hurry by making him believe that he is going to lose a great opportunity.

Other than that, I agree with the others about staying away from social media platforms when it comes to crypto investments.
3885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying for your taxi with Bitcoins !! on: February 24, 2022, 06:55:19 AM
The good part is they are agreeing to accept it as payment at some point in future which means they are heading forward to little adoption and figuring out how will they implement it.The Uber service is widely used in major countries and they will start from US and then maybe extend it to next nations if they find it suitable and more people feel comfortable in paying with it.

You will see more companies joining the list of btc acceptance as soon as they realise it's non avoidable and really helpful.

Yes. I like the analogy that we are like in the use of the internet back in 1996-1999. In the future you're going to be able to pay everywhere with crypto in the same way that everyone carries a cell phone with an internet connection today. This we see from Uber and other companies are the steps we are taking in that direction.
3886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price goes down as Russia begins Ukraine invasion on: February 24, 2022, 06:52:20 AM
As soon as this hit the news portal the Bitcoin price went down 8%
...
thoughts?

I am not surprised, it went down as the S&P 500 and most assets went down. In the short term investors get scared because they think of something like what Stompix said:

War and whatever the aftermath will mean trade will be on a downslide, it means the business will start downsizing, it means less money, fewer jobs, more people who count every penny and their top of the lists items are food and basic necessities, not investments.

Depending on how it develops, the market downturn will be more or less prolonged, but in the case of Bitcoin I think it will be like the coronavirus in 2020, when there is a recovery it will be the one that will rise the most.
3887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to hold with ease on: February 23, 2022, 08:55:14 AM
-snip

I would say that your advice is not bad I guess for people who have little experience investing.

You forgot one of the important steps and that's to uninstall all price tracking apps and to stop checking prices on the regular basis as doing that constantly won't do you any good if you are hodler.

Couple of years ago I did exactly that, removed Blockfolio from my phone and cmc/coingecko tabs from my desktop pc browser and I must say that I feel much better now that I'm not obsessively checking prices xyz times per day, like I used to.

Some of us are not much affected by price. I look at it and since I'm used to bear market I don't care. I like it better when we are in bull market and beat ATHs. Then I look at the price more frequently. But I don't change my investment strategy because the price goes down or is in a long break even. It does not affect me emotionally.

Lately I look at the price once a day or sometimes less.
3888  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▄■▀■▄ 🌟BITVEST.io🌟 💰WIN BY 🔶PLAY 📈INVEST➡🔺🎲🎰🔲 | BET CONTEST ▄■▀■▄ on: February 23, 2022, 08:48:46 AM
Just email nicely for a comp.  Don't be a dick.

I'm sure it'll be fine... what is the cost of 10x txid for LTC? 0.01 LTC?
At least there is someone answering here with true sense , because accusation keeps coming when their main objective is to bring this casino down.

I am not here to depend Bitvest as i am a former signature participant , but the thing is He waited for 48 hours and cannot handle to wait at least few more days for an answer , yeah there are cases like this about bitvest but the thing is that lightlord always come to settle everything .

The point is that in a decent casino, such things don't happen. Period.

In this thread we have seen that some people have had to bribe a moderator to have their withdrawal processed after weeks of waiting.

Let alone the lack of communication from the casino when those things happen repeatedly, as we've seen a lot of times in this thread.
3889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin likely won't recover until 2025 on: February 23, 2022, 07:06:55 AM
Huobi co-founder predicts this cycle is going to repeat itself, following the last bear market pattern, which started right after the ATH of 2017 and lasted long painful years... Is it too pessimistic to think this way or is the halving the real game changer factor which drives market's prices, as Du Jun says?

Well he seems pessimistic for how relatively bullish people are on this forum, but as the days go on I see less and less bullish people thinking that the top of this cycle was reached last year at almost $70k.

The bad thing is that if that is the case, it is normal to think that the spectacular returns of Bitcoin are over and that, getting to say $1M, is going to take a long time, and not a few years as some theories last year predicted (like the supercycle theory).

3890  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How are they making $1 Million in Crypto just by referrals? [scam?] on: February 23, 2022, 06:57:49 AM
I SENSE IT IS A PERFECTLY DESIGNED PONZI SCHEME WORKING ON THE SUPPORT OF THE BOT & REFERRAL SYSTEM
It does look like a classic scam. The business is not done by selling something that brings added value but by getting a sufficient number of suckers to pay the fee, and on top of that starting with family and friends, of course. Mix it with a bot that is supposed to give you incredible returns from trading and you have a perfect bait to attract the gullible.

I have looked at the certificate and it doesn't look legitimate to me either. Anyway, I am gonna stay away from supposed businesses like this one but I am sure some naive people will fall for the trap.
3891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We make a plan but heaven has its own on: February 23, 2022, 06:48:59 AM
If I die today I'm going with my crypto coins, no one knows that I have them as they are crypto unbelievers, I have no kids or wife so if death do come i will go with my coins, things will change if God spare me and i ended up getting married.

I would, in your case as in the OP's, consider that you are donating your coins to the Bitcoin community. If you have no one to trust, it is worth not telling anyone that you have coins, and in the unlikely event that you die soon, your coins would be lost and therefore, you would make the remaining bitcoins more valuable (albeit by a very small percentage).
3892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: California senator filed a bill to allow payment of state services with Bitcoin on: February 23, 2022, 06:45:05 AM
in many states.. they can only claim tax once someone has converted an asset/income into a native legal tender.
where its then declared as a income/gain.

but things like this, by accepting another currency for services. is like saying "we accept euro" so now if you get income in euro we can tax that euro income too now, without having to wait for you to convert it to dollar to then declare it

I don't know what it will look like specifically in each state, but I would say they are two different things. When you receive a monetary remuneration for your work, the normal scenario is that you are taxed on the income, whether you are paid in legal tender in the country, in cryptocurrency or in gold nuggets. If someone pays you $60K a year in gold nuggets for doing work for them, is the IRS not going to tax your income? And then another thing is when you spend it, or when you pay taxes as in this case. If at the time of paying taxes on cryptocurrency the price is higher than when you received it as income, you will be taxed on capital gains.

3893  Economy / Lending / Re: need loan $5-$15 on: February 22, 2022, 07:06:53 AM
I wish you good luck with this issue but it strikes me why you would need a loan of such a small amount of money. I assume you live in a third world country where $5 is a relatively significant amount.

I was thinking that if you told me why I might even make you the loan, but seeing that you have applied for similar loans in the past, unsuccessfully, and that you are a gambler, I'm just gonna pass.
3894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun alone? how true? on: February 22, 2022, 07:01:17 AM
Have you heard that some people gamble for fun and not necessarily to make money?
That is stupid to believe in , because even billionaires when in gambling they wanted to win and that is part of FUN .

I think you have got a point there. The point is that the more money, the more excitement, so it's funnier.

In my case I can assure you that there is a big difference between playing poker with no money, or with play money as in many sites and playing with very small amounts of money. Playing with no money can be entertaining but people tend to get bored quickly and don't get as excited. The moment money comes into play there is more emotional involvement.
3895  Economy / Economics / Re: OMG crypto is low ! what do i do ? on: February 22, 2022, 06:55:39 AM
I don't care about crypto, as I only have Bitcoin. As for it being supposedly low, it doesn't change what I do. I buy regularly and that's it. I like it better when the market is bullish and we are beating ATH after ATH, but up or down I just buy periodically and I am done. In any case, if I were to do something different in the case of the low market, it would be to buy more, just as when the market is bullish, to make small partial sales.
3896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Summary of My Bitcoin Journey So Far on: February 22, 2022, 04:53:35 AM
That's not your Bitcoin journey but your Writing journey even you're writing about Bitcoin articles, just like you become freelancer. Bitcoin is only a payment option here, similar like you get paid by dollar or your local fiat.

That's what I was going to say, he hasn't told us anything about whether since 2017 he has invested in Bitcoin, whether he bought and then sold, whether as of today he has Bitcoin holdings.

I hope he clarifies this for us, otherwise this thread looks more like a personal blog post, in this case about his experience writing and by chance a small relationship with Bitcoin.
3897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banning Bitcoin is Like Banning the Internet, Says Russia’s Finance Minister on: February 21, 2022, 03:40:01 PM
Contradictory information has been coming from Russia lately, because it is clear that the Central Bank and the minister have conflicting views. I hope that in the short term the Minister's vision will prevail, as he is the one who understands what this is all about. However, even if the Central Bank's vision were to prevail now, in the long term that vision cannot be sustained.
3898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to use report to moderator? on: February 21, 2022, 07:02:08 AM
Aside from the advice the others have given, I would only add that you should start practicing. You seem too shy. If you report a post, the person who wrote it is not going to know who reported him, and even so, so what. So if you think a post breaks the rules report it, the worst that can happen is as you have been told it will be marked as bad or unhandled.
3899  Economy / Reputation / Re: @JollyGood is a liar and trust system abuser. on: February 21, 2022, 06:54:39 AM
He probably thinks about this thread Seeking Donations For A Charitable Purpose
if you Clamsaladh doubt the whole process, why not launch an investigation or post any proof? In the end, ask JollyGood about this.

I missed that thread.

We are not talking about a large amount, nothing like the Bitcointalk Charity, but it seems that JollyGood is missing to update the thread, as the money was finally moved.

An update for those familiar with me and this thread, the funds from the wallet are still unspent and the crypto donation has not been sent...

When I have an update I will post here. Thank you.
3900  Economy / Reputation / Re: @JollyGood is a liar and trust system abuser. on: February 20, 2022, 05:13:13 PM
long ago jollygood collects money for an poor family who cant afford to pay for the  medicine,
anyone knows what happend with that money ?

he posted that a bit longer ago, but never any proof

If you're going to say that you better cite the specific thread. I've looked at his created threads up to the beginning of 2021, before you registered in the forum, and I haven't seen anything like what you say.

I don't know him, we don't usually post in the same threads, but he has a great reputation, If you want us to doubt, you're going to have to come up with something more than mere words.

I think you have the wrong name or something.
