World Series of Poker in Las Vegas gewinnen konnte.

3894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: December 01, 2014, 03:10:46 PM

So the guy want to back Bitcoin with gold and he thinks Satoshi's views of economics was limited... What a moron.

Yes, crazy, but at least they smell the potential of the blockchain.

i went through the entire story he/they wrote. it is a brilliant example of how bitcoin crawls into everyones head that is giving it a chance. those guys are very open about their learning experience and i think this is valuable information.
3895  Economy / Economics / Re: Satoshi didnt give us bitcoin to make a bunch of nerds rich. on: December 01, 2014, 11:07:43 AM
He made Bitcoin so you could escape enslavement by the financial system. Satoshi gave you life, he gave you the power to control your destiny!

It's easy to lose sight of the real purpose of Bitcoin during these bearish times. I felt the need to give that reminder.

i assume satoshi wanted his invention to get adopted large scale. this can only happen if 1) coins get distributed far and well and 2) coins must be able to absorb a huge market cap in order to be used widely. current btc must get WAY more valuable to reach those goals. as a side effect, earlier adopters profit a lot. it is a reward for having the guts to step in early. i don´t think satoshi minds btc users getting rich.
3896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are the next adopters? on: December 01, 2014, 10:29:03 AM
Porn industry and their clients.
This is probably correct. There was an article written a few months ago that discussed how high of fees payment processors charge producers of porn, it was ridiculous. It talked about a specific couple's experience with various sites and how they went from site to site, each time finding a site that gave them more of their revenue. I believe before they starting accepting bitcoin they would be paying over 30% of their sales to the site/payment processor

the problem with (online) porn industry btc adoption is that the way btc works it does not support an important part of their business model: they want you to subscribe for months and years and they want to drag your money from you every month via credit card. eventhough it is expensive for them, it is more reliable for them then to wait for their customers to send bitcoins every month again. btc can only be pushed, not pulled.
i guess there is a market for a btc service that somehow manages such re-occuring payments. if a service like this existed the online porn industry would adopt btc much faster.

3898  Economy / Speculation / Re: We made it, boys and girls. on: November 28, 2014, 08:07:11 PM
My thoughts on this report were that he was trying to make gold sound risky for bank balance sheets (not unlike bitcoin) to sway opinion ahead of this Swiss gold backing vote.

I do not think it is more like 'bitcoin is like gold' (good) rather 'gold is like bitcoin' (bad).  I think his motivations for this report need to be ascertained better before more assumptions are made.

my 2 satoshis

you may be right, but the fact that "bitcoin=gold" comes from an active big shot of a global bank is in itself amazing, no matter what his intentions are. he knows that he can be quoted for it. this is a tectonic shift imho.
