Took few seconds to spot you (blame to your changed avatar :-D ) When I help anyone with info or anything, I usually do not expect anything in return but I have some good memories and I feel good about them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5295408.0Anyway, I spot a lot of time users do reply with thank you but you actually do not have anything to post on that reply, so I leave it like that. Maybe theymos needs a new button/feature, you hit it and other sees the post had a thank-you sign.

I think the point is, small exchanges mentioned above can exit scam quite easily using something like this. I do not think small or big matters much. All depends on the people who are behind running the company. If they have intention to exit then they can exit anytime. It's true for the exchange which has launched today and long run established exchange like Binance, Kucoin, Polo, Bittrex. Haven't we seen enough from this long period of time? Mt.Gox, QuadrigaCX. Cryptopia etc. The stories are hacked but do you really know the real story. It's very easy to move coins and tell the world that someone else took it away. When you have your coins in an exchange or any service site - you are putting your trust on them. Trust is your only asset in here not the coins. The coins are only yours when they are in your own wallet.

The website is working fine in my end. Tried more than one browser. I think everything is back to normal. However, it's just so weird how a well known website goes down temporarely or even permanently without any notice to its users. Poeple are using this kind of services (exchanges) with their own money so they should be informed about any inconvenient that may occur . What happed should be taken into considration for actual users of the website and also for potential users who may want to join it .
Maybe they did inform their users, we do not know, at least I have no idea since I am not their user. Let's not blame a company. Good to know your funds are safe. However its a wakeup call for you and everyone else who store their funds for a long time on small exchanges.
You are overreacting :-P A regular maintenance is very common for any website. It's true for a website that has been up just now to a website like Google, Facebook, Twitter.

You are lucky but in 2020 if someone tries to recover their account access after losing their 2FA codes then it may take forever especially with coinbase like services.
I am positive that I did not have Coinbase account to recover so there were no worries about it :-D Trying on the other device.with the recovery seeds for Authenticator seems to be the only option now, or else OP can access with 2FA recovery from the service provider itself. Trust me Authy is the best option. Use their desktop app. In OP's case I am sure this has something to do with the time setting in his device since he is getting error for all the 2FA keys he has.

|
|
I get "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable"
How long the site is down? If this is not for long time like last 5 to 12 hours or more and no response in their social media then there is something to worried otherwise I think it's just something they are working on and the site will be back soon.

The reason of not using Google authenticator is because, at that time they did not have any back up system, I guess now they have introduced it. No, it still does not have any back up capabilities. The codes being talked about are simply the shared secret codes that the exchange site provides when you set up the 2FA in the first place - the same code that is encoded in the QR image you scan with your authenticator app. Then it's risky to use Google auhenticator. If you do not have the 2FA key saved from the service providers and if you have many 2FAs - losing the device with 2FA is always problematic for you. You go to every individual service providers and contact the customer support to disable the 2FA and in some cases some of them takes minimum two weeks to remove it and give you regular access. I have had such experience when I had Google authenticator, and I was not introduced with Authy. I lost my phone, and I was totally f**ked. It took me a few weeks to contact each of the service providers to recover my accounts. I remember at that time cryptopia took more than two weeks.

Make sure you are using the exact same Authenticator App you were using previously.
I think it's not necessary, since the OP has his backup codes this should work in any authenticator. The best answer has been already given by btcsmlcmnr. I believe there are two possible problems from your side - Timer: the timer on your phone is not match with timer on exchanges. - Your backup codes were written down inaccurately. I have not used Google authenticator from long time so not sure how it works these days. The reason of not using Google authenticator is because, at that time they did not have any back up system, I guess now they have introduced it. I will suggest OP to use Authy. The only reason I moved from Google to authy is because of their back up system. It itself is very user-friendly. You can copy/paste the code from their app. Because you have a backup system with master password and phone number, no matter if you have one or a hundred 2fa stored there and you reset the computer - you will always get the same authy with your 2fas once you use the same master password and phone number.

Impressive effort you put on that. Imagine if you would have put that much effort in mining coins at that time. Hopefully you did by the way. Royse777 - yes, you would have to trust me to use the address, that's a given. Similar to early Casascius coins, I suppose. Could still be used to sign messages if you didn't want to send any BTC to the address!
Signing a message is all what I see the use of it other than that there are not any (much) use.

I was very surprised but he showed real honesty & great humility. He’s not very active on the forum lately so he could easily have gone incognito & not paid.
Very honest guy in this situation.
No doubt that he is a man of his words. This also teaches us that we should not treat others badly especially when they are new to this forum and making promises. Sadly I saw on the wall observer thread how he was treated and I do not blame any of you by the way. It's the same as my hesitation of not leaving him a positive feedback. Anyway, I was surprised too (in fact I double-checked your post on the other thread just to make sure that I am not reading something that was not there LOL), and I am sure whoever will see this thread and read about it will feel the same as us :-D

I'm not sure if he's trolling but he doesn't know what he's talking about for sure.
Clearly he does not know much about Bitcoin, its network over all cryptocurrency. I wanted to respond to him by saying that "if you do not have enough knowledge on a field then please do not make a public statement and send a wrong message to the world especially this is injustice to those people who are following you." ~snip~
Not much to add bud. You have said enough. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fnqa4fHF.jpg&t=664&c=wUNEgdqDA3IxPw) My understanding of social media celebrities and their followers.

I already left him a neutral feedback even before you making this post. I was looking at on the other thread created by nutildah and was surprised by seeing your post about him paying you 0.04 BTC and will be paying the rest later. That's when I decided to leave him a neutral. The reason I did not leave a positive is just some hesitation of leaving positive trust in a low activity account. We still do not know much about the account holder but only this segment that he kept his word. Lately we have seen enough that users build up their accounts and then exit the scam with a big loan. @Bossian, it's not your fault bud but this is how some scammers are treating us good users who look after others in the community. What you have done is a great move to show your good character. I have a topic about encouraging users, to give a reason to them of why they need to hand out the helping hand to others always and not to go hard on low rank members. And I thought you are one of the low rank member who deserves a recognition on that topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5295408.msg55748689#msg55748689By the way, congratulation LFC_Bitcoin.

And who is this guy? I feel sorry for his followers if he has any who follow him undoubtedly. He is sending the wrong message to them which is not good for them. In this era of social media everyone thinks that they are something, and they know everything, they always fake. To get attention they do not even mind recording the dead body of their girlfriend in an accidental death. @Wind_FURY, do you have the link of the tweet? Edit: I spent last 10 to 15 minutes to find the tweet but it's not there: https://twitter.com/rohangrey/with_repliesPlease post me the link if anyone has.

➤ User : BossianThis is an interesting turn from user Bossian. No one believed that he would keep his words but it looks like things has turned out to be a great ending. Guys, I need to make this post.
Can everybody please change their red trust on Bossian to neutral. The bet was for 0.05BTC but I was very surprised to get a PM from Bossian. He has paid me 0.04BTC with the remainder to be paid next month.
It’s not the full amount yet but I’m so surprised he paid most of it.
When he pays the rest I will leave green trust.

I've got a ton of Bitcoin "firstbits" addresses that were generated (and written to the blockchain via transactions) back in the day... 2011-ish. Is there any interest in those? Thought there might be some interest as a sort of novelty to have, a digital collectible.
They've been kept on air-gapped storage, never seen network or internet access, and would remain that way (securely deleted as sold). I generated them and have been the sole owner of them this whole time - no one else has touched them.
Some random examples include: 1MunCh - 1MunCh1kFAwisrTySvZvyxsXkrEeFCMehH 1BLing - 1BLingJstkxW53nsjNbDe7zFUJ5P42KuJC 1DiRty - 1DiRty8t4qJhCmp5QL2BqThdHLcAgHTDeb 1MaRTiN - 1MaRTiNSNqawwV3iGCakD2AA4Jj8m9TQvL
I do not find any of them worth anything for me and pretty sure these would not worth anything for others too. Even if they have interest still they can not use any of these address since you already have the private keys. They would have to trust you. The only emotion with these addresses attached are with you. You have created them long ago and I see you came up with some names and random verbs. Same as BG4 I would be interested to know the story behind creating these address. Hopefully it will be an interesting story.

LOL, 1 sat/B? what were you thinking ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) It's in the same wallet :-P So the coin stays with me even if it does not pick up by the miners in the next few months and does not get dropped from the mempool. It's fun actually :-D Still, I find it interesting/strange that it was not confirmed yet. The fees are clearly lower now than 51 sat/vbyte.
This is interesting. I just noticed it's below 50 sat/B from this point (image) and after that we had 2 more blocks so far so this is strange (not making sense to me). ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FWCeoCbo.png&t=664&c=PpbLGJ6OAWC3ng) Most probably the next block will pick up OPs tx.

Not trying to be an asshole or criticizing his knowledge about trading but his list of wallet app don't even have Electrum. https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-wallet/apps/This shows that how this industry really lacks the security of their coins and technically they are not much sound. There could be another reason for him not to list is that there are no referral links for that. He focused on wallets that has referral link this way he could earn some commission. Overall, it's a nice website for information. He had spent a good amount of time and studied a lot to up and run this site.
