Nice to know you are still progressing with the code.

3 fundamentals of production, decentralized:
1. Information: What to build, how to build it efficiently, how to market your product (Web) 2. Exchange: How to efficiently get value for your product (Bitcoin) 3. Fabrication: efficiently constructing the product (3d printing baby steps)
It's happening.

Nice to see an observer thread for Altcoins. I sense interest in Altcoins is picking up lately, if even because of LTC's fall in price Altcoins bring a lot of experimenting into the game from which we can all learn over time. A fascinating environment.

I am fine with another plateau phase, followed by a big-ass bubble That's indeed the best way to accumulate more bitcoins. It may continue like this for more than a year (which is perfectly fine).

I think it is fair to say that the posts above already paint a picture of some Altcoins having reasonably established themselves in this very young field. Personally, my thoughts go to Devcoin with its unique approach and goals. Dogecoin for the micro payments (with Mooncoin underrated) and Darkcoin as example of anonymity efforts.
However, I expect a breakthrough (which seems inevitable regardless of the unknown time scale) to come from practical trading solutions. Imagine what happens if XCP / Reggie's Ultracoin become a success?
Massive disruption and an absolute hype in crypto currency land.

This entire field of crypto currency is fresh, oh so fresh. Sure, there will be a lot of losers just like tens (or hundreds) of computer variants died in the '70s. But first, there will be hype. A real hype.
Enough to think about wagering a bet on some Altcoins. An asymmetric bet with potential high reward.

What I still do not get in respect of initiatives like Counterparty.co and Reggie's Ultracoin is how counter party risk is managed. Sure, it is easy to lock in an electronic asset like BTC or a bunch of Doves, but how does software ensure that a bet in dollars or PM will actually be honoured by your digital counter party?
Reggie does not explain this nor the Counterparty.co website.
If they have solved this problem, they are sitting on pure platinum.

No guts, no glory.
Why not invest a little in a coin that (psychologically) can fill the need for super tiny micro payments on the Net? the underrated Dogecoin sister.
This crypto thing has barely even started. Just think of the possibilities if it would ever enter into a phase similar to the days of the Internet boom. Exciting....

'Never'is a long time. This crypto thing has barely started.

That's more than 1% of all coins to be mined Now go out and promote this coin

The coin is actively used and generates action by numerous people everyday. If Devcoin has nothing going for it, why does it have an Android client, people doing work for shares (=Devcoins) and people trading it (sellling is also trading; every sale has a buyer)? Its by no means dead, and that frightens people.

Its slowly warming up again

Is this wallet still available? I can find Andreas Schildbach's apps on Google Play, all but the actual wallet.
I have the same question too. I see that there are few updates. Is this wallet ok to use? Besides having a problem when having lots of transactions is there any other big issue with this wallet? Is there another decent/better Android Wallet? I thought Mycelium is the successor of this wallet.

Devcoin has had more action in 2014 outside its price than all years before. It's far from death and has captured the brightest among us.
