Anybody talking about how Cade Cunningham the NBA’s #1 draft pick is getting paid his signing bonus 100% in Bitcoin through a partnership with BlockFi? That’s nuts… I can’t believe that this sort of thing is becoming normalized in professional sports. I hope he makes a ton of cash and becomes a major ally in crypto. Certainly others will be following in his footsteps.

Well, crypto companies are going big for their advertisement and partnerships with the sports business, which kinda good thing for us all in crypto space as it gives Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency an exposure for a possible additional adoption.

This is gonna be a win-win situation for the Rookie as he were able to make "pretty decent amount of Bitcoin" (I'm quite sure it's a big amount). He can just hold it and come back when Bitcoin hits a 6 digit figure.
I've seen a few athletes in different sports who were receiving crypto as their bonuses and as a few percentage of their salary.

A decent amount are doing it now.  When you consider these Rookies were 8-9 years old when bitcoin started coming around they grew up with it so it's getting normalized.  I always said it will take a generation to become "normal" and we are almost there.  A ton of athletes are talking about it, which should be fun to watch.  I'm a cade fan now Smiley

I just hope that KAT will be traded to another team because his career will just go to waste if he stays there unless the Wolves will get another superstar that will help him then he might stay.

Put KAT in GSW and suddenly GSW will become one of the favorites to win the championship.

When Thompson is back next season, and Curry with very high confidence due to the big contract he got, I'm sure they'll be a tough team to beat.
This is a scenario that I don't know if will happen, but I think he fits a good team, so let's hope he'll get one.

He really fits there but the cap I don't know if GSW still have that to offer for him, unless he will be the one to adjust and accept much lesser contract.

It's good to see him playing with the splash bro, Green and Iggy that's surely a good title contender with a healthy splash bro
that will bring the first line for their offense, while Iggy and Green are the ball setters to find who's going to be the best option to take the shot.

KAT will have that open space inside knowing that the defense will always focus with the splash bro.

This would never happen. In your scenerio the Warriors give up no one.  Timberwolves would never do this trade because the 1st round picks they would get would likely be in the high 20s.  That's a dream machine trade.  For KAT to be moved it would have to be with multiple talented Youngs and multiple first round picks with the capability of those picks being lottery picks.  Ain't gonna happen with the warriors.
3983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 19, 2021, 12:00:15 AM
There are always two sides to the discussion and I think both points are valid to be considered concerning those athletes that are involved with Paralympics. But at the end of this, we're looking to them as athletes that will compete and won't be looking at their disabilities.
I'll choose to respect the craft and the bread and butter that they've chosen to live with it and they would understand if there are people that will bet for them and I think they'll even appreciate it just like the usual sports and events that we're betting. And lastly, they're even more fit than me.

Respect is all we need here. It is true, some of them are better than us.
If you will treat them the same as normal people, then, I guess we have no problem here.
There's nothing unethical to bet also on their games, they are also sports that need interest of audience.

No offense but "treat them the same as normal people" is a terrible way to phrase it.  They are normal people, with handicaps.

Regardless how much of a gambling junkie do you have to be to bet on the paralympics.  They should be viewed, enjoyed, and that's it no need to bet on them.
3984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 10-100x coin? on: August 18, 2021, 11:43:02 PM
What are your small cap gems that you think will 10x or 100x in the next few months? Do such coins even exist anymore with how saturated the market has become? It seems there are dozens of new coins every day.

I mean small cap coins most of them die a quick death but there are some good ones still buried.  Instead maybe stick to mid cap coins that just haven't seen exponential growth yet.  Take helium for instance.  The platforms user base continues to grow and solves a real problem.  Great chance this goes up, how far who knows it all depends on market conditions but it's likely a winner.
3985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggest Me some altcoins which could be 40x to 50x within next 4/5 years. on: August 18, 2021, 11:41:03 PM
There are so many top altcoins available in crypto market. Those are already hundreds time pump from their tokensale price. so there are less chance, those top coins could pump again 40x to 50x (although some are exceptional)

Please don't throw Ether, bnb, doge names blindly (some people always suggest btc eth bnb everywhere)

Now kindly suggest some altcoins those have potential enough to grow 40x to 50x within 4/5 years and Kindly explain your logic for supporting those.

Helium has a great chance to explode.  They are building up hot spots organically through their "miners"  it's an excellent idea and the way they are deploying it there is a real good chance it succeeds.  A true use case that fixes a real world problem.
3986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do any casinos offer cryptocurrency staking? on: August 18, 2021, 11:39:02 PM
There has been a lot of talk lately about which new features are important for cryptocurrency casinos to add;

The general consensus is that new games, deposit methods, chat features etc are expected from any good casino. But has anywhere actually began offering cryptocurrency staking options for accepted cryptocurrencies?

As far as I've seen, plenty of crypto casinos support deposits for stakeable assets like Tezos, Cardano, Tron etc, but I haven't seen a single casino that allows users to benefit from this feature.

Seems like a nice potential revenue option for casinos and its users... Just need to add a withdrawal delay that accounts for the staking period for those that opt in to the feature.

I don't know of any of them that would but I don't think many people keep their coins idle on a casino site.  Either you are withdrawing/depositing or you are playing the games with your money. That's probably why none really have at this point.

Pat Beverly to be traded again, this time to Timberwolves, second time in as many days that Pat has moved.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1427646798089359361

Yeah, he could play PG for the Wolves and he said via his twitter that he is happy with the trade. Wolves is a young team and Pat will be a good match because of his experience and his tenacity.

I like this trade.  Jarret Culver is a nice piece.  Wierd that the wolves gave up on him after just drafting him.  Still on a rookie deal.  Kid had serious game when he was a Texas tech and has had flashes in the NBA where he looked like he could be part of a young core piece for them.
3988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano (ADA) coin hit $10 During 2021? on: August 17, 2021, 08:00:13 PM
Honestly I would've said you were crazy but the way prices are going it could very well hit 10.  It would take a huge bitcoin rally in usd but that's not out of the question either.  If bitcoin could get to $100-$130k then you can definitely see upwards of $10 for ADA.
3989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 07:34:41 PM
JaVale McGee!!!
https://www.nba.com/suns/suns-sign-javale-mcgee
Suns just recently signed him in their roster. It adds more energy in the bench. Also, we remember how the Suns were having troubles looking for a back-up for Ayton after Saric was injured. This could be their guy. 3-4 minutes for every quarter just to give Ayton the breather, protect the rim and try to not make any mistakes.
1-year, $5 million. Cool.

Or not be a regular Shaqtin a Fool,  Grin, kidding aside, Javale has improved a lot since his stay with the Lakers during their championship run. Yeah, he could even played more minutes if coach Monty thinks he deserves it. And maybe not just to give Ayton breather, but share his experience and energy with the team specially young players and could give them pointers too.

That's all the Mcgee signing is.  10-15 minute breather for ayton and someone who could lessen the load during the season without giving up too much on the defensive side.  These smaller moves are just as important as the bigger moves.  You normally don't win a championship without a solid bench so not a bad pickup.
3990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Question to All DOGE HODLers on: August 17, 2021, 03:58:12 PM
Would you like to play an on chain gambling game like Chain-Bet.com on DogeCoin Blockchain?

Build it and they will come.  Maybe post this in the gambling section there is a dedicated section that you will probably get a better idea if people would or wouldn't.  But if history tells you anything like I said if you build it they will probably use it.
3991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 03:53:32 PM
Marcus Smart has found an economic agreement with the Boston Celtics to continue his adventure in Massachusetts. The guard has signed a four-year extension worth $77.1 million in total, a contract fully guaranteed for its entire duration.
He'll stay in Boston along with stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to try to bring the Celtics back to the top of the Eastern Conference. IMO, his defensive approach and grit shown in NBA have made him one of the favorite players of Celtics fans who'll be happy to see him in green until 2026.
Wow. $77 million and is not even branded as one of the great players in the league.
It's like an appreciative contract because of his leadership whenever they play. For me, he is like the Draymond Green of the Celtics team.
That's a good comparison, right? Both rely on hard work on the defensive side and it had been effective.
This is a good deal and I think both ends win. Marcus Smart is happy and so are the Celtics fans and management.

Yeah he is kind of a glue guy not so much the guy you are leaning on with 30 seconds left in the game.  Salaries have gotten out of control in every sport.  He definitely rely on his defense and grit like Draymond good comparison I never thought of smart like that.

"Jacksonville Jaguars release QB-turned-TE Tim Tebow"
source: https://www.nfl.com/news/jacksonville-jaguars-release-qb-turned-te-tim-tebow

There go my plans to draft Tebow in the first round, the best blocking TE in the league could not make the Jags squad, it's a sad day... Cry

Sept. 3rd, 8 PM EST

Be there or be square.

Perfect!

TE?  I was going to draft him for my RB and WR slots.  I mean it's Tebow after all.  So when does Tebow go out to compete in the national curling league?  All kidding aside it's amazing that he keeps getting all these wierd chances.  Guess that's what jersey sales will do for your chances on getting invites  Grin
3993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is not a rival of Bitcoin on: August 16, 2021, 11:59:29 PM
The comparison of the value of etherum and bitcoin is very far, the price of one BTC is $ 45,975 and one Etherum is $ 3,152 (15 August 2021, 16:53:00). Etherum is far behind BTC, although Etherum’s current popularity is great, unfortunately Etherum still can’t be the first in the market. what do you think?

As others stated it's not price but market cap you should look at.  Due to different max/circulating supply of every coin, coin price is irrelevant in terms of this conversation.  But you are right they aren't rivals per se.  They perform very different functionalities in the crypto sphere.  Can eth take over btc in market cap, maybe I guess.  Will it?  I'd put my money on no.
3994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 16, 2021, 11:55:39 PM
That is fine with me and I will update the league with this info, however there is a minor detail, technically speaking the east coast of the US is not observing EST(Eastern Standard Time) but the ET(Eastern Time) or more precisely EDT(Eastern Daylight Time) and the NFL and ESPN do the same, while most of the time this will not a big deal, if a member of the league unaware of this were to use one of those time zone calculators to see when the draft will be conducted at their local time and they used the EST they will arrive one hour late to the draft as EST is UTC -5 while ET and EDT are UTC -4, so I think it is more precise to say the draft will happen at Sept. 3rd, 8 PM ET? Or am I wrong with my assumption?

Let's see if I can make this simple...

Boom problem solved
3995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 16, 2021, 11:51:08 PM
Glad to see Patrick Beverly traded from the Clippers. His dangerous play to break Booker’s nose in the playoffs has become all too much what you expect from him. He shouldn’t even be in the NBA in my opinion, but I’m glad he’s going to a non-contender to be a backup as opposed to his role on the Clippers.

It surprises me that they trade two veterans for Eric Bledsoe, I guess they value Eric more than Rondo and Bev. Grizzlies already has Ja Morant so I don't know how both Rajon and Pat can fit in their rotation. Although Bledsoe was just a returning Clipper, maybe he can fill the point guard position that will be left by the two veteran. Yeah.  Anyhow, let's hear more trade, I'm sure everyone is waiting for the Ben Simmons drama.

Memphis is loaded with guards so provably they will just trade those guys in exchange with more good talents, But actually they can use Rondo as their back up point guard if they can utilize his talent for sure they can give them a good plays, but we don't know what's the real plan by Memphis so let see how those two guys journey on their new team.

Also many are now curious to know about which team can successfully acquired and its interesting to know if he will go on strong teams or on average team only.

Pat Beverly is bringing his style in the Pelicans, lol... in any team that he is playing, it will gain the attention of the fans due to his style of play, I like his defense but sometimes he is too much, he did not anymore think that he can also hurt his opponent, he does not even respect CP3 which was his teammate before.

That's what make him a unique player but unfortunately the game is now changing and many teams now want a player who can produce in both ends so if Pat Beverly can't adopt to the changes maybe he's career will go to end soon the players are now evolving so provably they will pick those guys who are more better than him. I do hope he can provide a good performance to his new team so that he can get minutes there since its really fun to watch Pat doing his dirty works to his opponent.

There will always be a team who will pick him up so long as he plays hard nose defense.  He is a little much but honestly the game in the 80s and early 90s was played to that style somewhat.  He might go overboard but it's refreshing to see someone play end to end like it's the last game of the playoffs.  A lot of these guys don't even know how to play d anymore.
3996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now a GOOD or BAD time to invest? on: August 16, 2021, 07:08:56 PM
Hi everyone!

I'm new in the Crypto World, but I am absolutely obsessed with it.

I want to start investing in BTC/ETH, maybe also some others like THETA, Audius and more.

I am following different youtubers, twitter accounts, discord channels, to learn as much I can about crypto as I can.

BUT, is not the correct time to invest? As long as I understand, we are in a bull-run right now, and many do believe that BTC and also ETH will grow. Some belive BTC will hit 100K and some also think ETH will be up to 10% of BTC total value by end of the year.
- And addition to this, we might see a drop and go in a bear-market, but this seems not to be the case.

I'm also looking into start long trading on buybit, I want to start small and get the hang of it and learn the system and how it works.

SO, back to the actual question: is NOW a good or bad time to begin investing? Or should I wait for a heavy drop in the market, which might not come?
- I am looking for a LONG term investment.

THX - I hope some clever crypto minds in here can share their thoughts about my questions above Smiley

//Crypt.N00b

This is a little late but it's never a bad time to invest.  A good way to get in is not just one lump sum as to try to time the market, but rather cost average in.  Take a little from your paycheck each week and start building your positions.  Before you know it you will have a nice little stack of sats.  Good luck
3997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies? on: August 16, 2021, 07:01:17 PM
Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

I mean I don't think at this point you want to do that.  There is a ton of businesses building in crypto capability.  You will ultimately drive innovation out of the country and it will go elsewhere.  They want to be involved in crypto for sure.  But if they ever did.  It would be a massive short term hit.
3998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 16, 2021, 06:58:15 PM
I would definitely back chibit for the league.  If we could at least get this to a 10 man league that would make it more competitive.  8an leagues are OK but make the waiver wire irrelevant which should be a critical part of a championship team.  Anyone else down for a 10 man league?  We could get chibit and I could find one more forum ember for sure.

Don't mean to be a bummer but we talked it over and decided it's probably just best to keep things as is. Mainly because we are a newb-heavy league, some of whom have been practicing 8-team drafts already. No disrespect meant to ChiBitCTy. Next year we'll definitely do a 10-team league.

We also nailed down our draft time which is:

Sept. 3rd, 8 PM EST

Be there or be square.

Still haven't decided on a #1 pick.

Understood on the team size thing.  Next year we should bump it to 10 teams.  As far as Friday the 3rd that's perfect I will be on.  The next night Saturday I just couldn't make it so appreciate it moving.  Can't wait, putting together my cheat sheets now Smiley.  If you need help with that #1 pick just go ahead and take the jacksonville defense Smiley

Who would forget that team, Paul George was also Ballin with the Pacers, it's just so pity that after Hibbert's season with the Pacers, he does not have a good basketball career anymore.  We can see his stats here https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hibbero01.html and only in Indiana Pacers where he is playing very well.
Thanks for sharing these Hibbert stats with us @Yamifoud  Smiley

Hibbert's had good performance when he was in Indiana, and that was clear!
Sometimes I don't understand, how a player like him 7-2 (218cm) tall, hasn't had a brilliant career in the NBA... not to mention unfortunately he retired from basketball too early.

Basketball isn't just a height thing otherwise all 7 footers would be awesome.  Athleticism is a huge part of playing basketball.  And for most people that tall, their shooting mechanics are all wrong from anywhere out from 5 feet from the bucket.  Limbs are too long for smooth mechanics.  And besides most are goofy and can't move laterally quick enough to last.
4000  Economy / Speculation / Re: The power of Bitcoin HODLing on: August 15, 2021, 11:41:18 PM
No matter what people say hold is always the best route to take.  If you day trade you pretty much guarantee less bitcoin on the backend unless you get lucky with one of the pumps.  Just keep stacking sats bit by bit and as it keeps on increasing in price your portfolio will grow exponentially.
