Everything is Python.
Why not in PHP? Haha, I only know Python and Flask is super easy to work with and build web applications. :p I just found out the tool got featured on this website: https://bitcoinist.com/expensive-ever-bitcoin-casascius/I'm just a little bummed that sensationalized 'terrible security'.

Any chance that this could be open source on Github? Hi Lauda, That is the plan after I'm done. My code is very shitty at the moment, and I'm ashamed to upload it to Github right now haha. I need to do some major refactoring and cleanup. What languages are you using? There might be people that are able to/willing to help. Everything is Python. The graphs are done via a Javascript library (plot.ly). Web Framework: Flask /w Flask-Admin module Database: Mongo Let me do a bit of cleanup :p and I can get it up.

Why don't you just do like "Redeemed/Destroyed" with like a popup info thing explaining etc ? Would solve both problems, right? Edit I agree with dazed but also with how newbs may construe it.... better to please both parties! I would do that, but: 1) It doesn't work too well in the database, the database will need to store one or the other. 2) There is limited space real-estate, making the column too long will make the table row wrap itself which may ruin the aesthetics of the table. I have to test this out of course. Nothing is set in stone yet. Perhaps, we can debate and make come to a conclusion. I suppose 'Destroyed' carries a bad connotation and I can see people who have redeemed/destroyed Casascius coins be concerned with such rhetoric. Same applies to the other side. Maybe presenting both words appeals to both parties. I also don't want this to turn political though lol . On the other note, I am planning on creating a page that explains everything to newbies in detail and goes into the history of Casascius coins. Why don't you just do like "Redeemed/Destroyed" with like a popup info thing explaining etc ? Would solve both problems, right? Edit I agree with dazed but also with how newbs may construe it.... better to please both parties! The pop up should be a mushroom cloud and a flashing display of he word destroyed repeated.

@Krog @Canary
Thanks guys for the feedback, I'm going to go ahead and rename Destroyed to Redeemed due to popular demand; you guys are absolutely right.
I'll have this pushed out shortly.
This has been completed! Destroyed has been renamed to redeemed. And I have broken down the Series 2 1BTC Cas Coins by year. Type: S1-COIN-1 -> [ S1-COIN-1-2011, S1-COIN-1-2012, S1-COIN-1-2013 ]

Great stuff, thanks for sharing. This fella should get all the merit for the work done here. So much effort returned to the community at no expectation of reward.
Thanks! Rusbit...great work..only one suggestion... Can you please change from destroyed to redeemed? Its kills me to hear Casascius and Destroyed in the same sentence. Redeemed is hard to but I can live with that. Other than that I applaud this work you have done for us. BTW the graphic makes it so much easier to comprehend it all too. Thanks, appreciate it! I suppose 'Destroyed' can be a bit misleading or extreme, at least to people less familiar with Casascius coins. Do others feel the same way? Should I rename: Destroyed -> Redeemed? If there is a better term we can use, feel free to suggest.

Updates: - Correctly tagged Version 3 coins. Please note that some 1BTC Version 3 coins do not start with ^1Ag so it'd be very difficult/impossible to tag them correctly. - Improved the destruction graph by showing overall growth trend over time. https://casascius.ludvigart.com/destruction/- Added another graph: Creation graph (this will show https://casascius.ludvigart.com/creation/Tonight, I plan to break down the Version 2 1 BTC coins by year (2011, 2012, 2013). It should be pretty easy to do.

Thanks everyone, glad you like the resource! The goal of the tool was to be able to do extensive analysis on Casascius coins, ie. destruction trends, frequency, overall rarity, etc.
Great work!! Can you explain what you mean by "destruction"? Do you mean redeemed? Thanks Yeah, destroyed refers to redeemed. At least, thats how I view them. If this is not intuitive or may be misleading, we can definitely relabel these. When I am done refining the tool, I may look into extending the tool to other coins. If there are any suggestions or requests, please include them here.
Feel free to take advantage of provided information for NastyFans Minted Seats. You can contact me with any questions or refer to the existing analyzer as a reference. Thanks for this, will do when I am ready to proceed with non-Casascius coins The good thing is that the code is modular and extensible so it'll be pretty easy to add other coins with little to no effort I just need to get the main one down first.

Thanks Dazed! I'll get these Addresses added later tonight. I'll also begin working on tagging the HardBTC coins. Edit: After speak with Dazed, I just realized that all of the silver coins produced in 2013 (1Ag) are Series 3. I will also have this correctly tagged. Best, Mel

Do you got any idea what the thinking was behind publishing them since those addresses have never been used? Were they on scrapped or unsold coins? Or load your owns? I think there were a few coins that were sold unfunded. Casascius did sell a few Gold 2FA 1000 BTC coins that weren’t loaded (Coblee has a bunch). I could be mistaken but some could also be from coins that were never fully assembled. You can see the control process Mike Caldwell used here: https://www.casascius.com/controls.aspxPerhaps some coins were left unfinished but since the addresses were already generated they were published accidentally. Mike was forced to shut down operations in 2013, a lot of those addresses never reached production. See: https://www.coindesk.com/us-regulators-bitcoin-mint-casascius-shut/

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, if it is not; please, go ahead and move accordingly. I've been working on a new Casascius tracker tool for the past month or so on my spare time. While it is nowhere near completion, I do feel its at a decent usable and functional place to share with this community and get some feedback. The goal of the tool was to be able to do extensive analysis on Casascius coins, ie. destruction trends, frequency, overall rarity, etc. https://casascius.ludvigart.com/Please note, that I will be adding more graphs and features in the coming weeks, so do not be alarmed if you see major changes. Features: 1. Filtering on a number of metrics 2. Sorting 3. Searching 4. Exporting to CSV files 5. Graphs and other analytical metrics When I am done refining the tool, I may look into extending the tool to other coins. If there are any suggestions or requests, please include them here. Also, my knowledge of Casascius coins is slightly limited, so I am asking the entire community here for help refine the list further e.g. the infamous double error coins. If you have any information or notice an error in my list, please let me know. Thanks! Mel

A Silver goes for 1.5 btc and you think 1.4 is discounted for 2011 error ? It's pretty comoon last one went for 1.15-1.2 Do you have a link for the one that went for 1.2? I'm seeing graded going for 1.7, ungraded going for 1.5. 1.2 doesn't even cover the fork value... Nobody counts the fork value.

Perhaps so, but OP is selling 25 x 1 BTC, not 1 x 25 BTC.
Also btw, total FV is easily ~39.725 BTC worth, including just BCH which is easily redeemable.
Collectors don’t really factor in hard forks. These aren’t being bought to be redeemed.

Looks amazing brother this one is a beauty 0.2 BTC bid from me Just to clarify I have no financial gain from this auction this raffle is to benefit the artists hard work put into this project
I don't want to cause any drama here, but were/are you in any way, shape or form involved in the making of these beautiful works of art? If so, I would have an issue with you bidding here. Again, just a question and not intending to be an asshole Interested to learn more.
