41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 on: October 11, 2017, 11:46:51 AM
1250@960-980mV

Thanks. Managed to increase even to 1300@1025mV. This has increased the wattage with 20% and the hashrate with 6% (900 h/s). Again, compared to sgminer, this miner is currently superior Smiley
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 on: October 10, 2017, 03:53:04 PM
does hash faster with the "normal" AMD driver or the blockchain one?
With blockchain drivers hashrate faster. About 980h/s on RX480 8G samsung

At what wattage is that?
About 680W 5*RX580 "from the wall"
that's really great. I just optimized a bit my RX470s 4GB and it is around 850, can't squuze more. This pulls 620W for 6 GPUs. Compared to sgminer it is better hashrate at a lower wattage.
Would you share your core freq pls?

Hiya,
Is it possible to trottle with this miner, let's say to use cores at 50%?

SUMO is a SCAM. Buy AEON instead.

Not even close to being a scam.

About 10% (~8.8 million) was premined to reserve for future development*, i.e. over 80 million coins available for community mining.
This shitcoin is a SCAM. And you are definitely mad "investor".

The info on coinmarketcap is misleading, I will email them and share my concerns about it.

LOL, just brilliant in your feeble crying. Go, email them swiftly, and post the reply please Smiley

Wait. Difficulty reflects reward share of single miner to overall emission. If we have 20% difficulty increase each month over last 5 months, now miners get only 48% of emissed eth.

WHO TAKES THE REST 52% OF MINED ETH NOW? VITALICK?

Don't blame machine...you said that you cut your fingers on blades, two times? Wow mate, maybe this is not for you?

Dude, why don't you stick a finger into one of the cards and see what happens? I didn't do it on purpose. The main reason I'm changing the cards is because the hashrate drops to 1, not because I cut my finger etc.
LOL, you shouldn't have mentioned these fingers dude, just made my day.

Edit:

yes is the miner and the driver
fixed issues with voltage/clocks management for latest AMD blockchain drivers (not completely).

That is what I believe as well

I believe the fastest way to confirm this is to try another miner without changing anything further. Just confirm you are solo mining ETH with Claymore, then the issue appears, then try another miner with the same pool.

So,

Seeing that this problem is not specific to me, I will post quotes from various users with same problems so @Claymore can identify that indeed a problem exists.

@Claymore, thank you for your last response:

Try to set original ROM, remove overclock and see if it helps, this way you can check that the reason is in your settings.
If your rig freezes, it must be something related to overclock, like wrong voltage for some power states, or something similar. It is not miner issue.

My answer to that was:

I didn't get the chance to set original ROM but I did remove overclock. Not only it didn't help but it got worse! In fact, while I was trying different OC settings I noticed that the lower I was setting my clocks, the more unstable my rig became.

My rig usually freezes after a GPU hangs or after a share gets rejected. The clocks I am using and the ROM I am using have been stable for months now with previous drivers and miner version

One more thing I have noticed is that after a rig restart (following a freeze) the miner starts, the clocks and voltages are being set normally but I get~ 3.5% less performance than usual. Once I restart the miner it gets back at 100%. Does anyone else have the same issue?

What I believe all of us with the same problem would love to hear from you is that you are aware of the problem and checking it out. Don't let us abandon hope!

I am at the point of 5+ miner restarts per day...

If I'm reading and following this right, Claymore asked you to perform 2 things, you managed to do only 1, and now you r going back to him saying that it didn't help. That's really outstanding.
On a side note I had similar problems and managed to fix this by tuning the core voltages for each GPU separately. Now everything is stable and for the last few days I checked only twice the miners. For all people with similar issues, just by following simple logic -> if the miner works stable lets say for 10 other people, do you think it's the miner to be blamed?
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 12, 2017, 09:57:47 AM
I cannot seem to find an answer for this

I want each of my rigs to appear as a worker on the Ethereum pool, now the Pool states after your etereum address put .<rig name>

for for example

-ewal 0xdc01a716e6fdf9d8ddba77971f4d5ffd3bd3c22b.1

when I do this I get an error message and disconnect from pool, so this is not working for me.

How can I distinguish each rig as a separate worker on the pool of which I cannot create workers to begin with

Use rigname with at least 2 chars and preferably max 8 chars.
(probably smart to NOT use special chars as well, just use letters and numbers)

rig01
rig02
etc...

tried that to and still get error

I get

ETH: Authorization failed
: {"id":2, "jsonrpc":"2.0","result":null,"error":{"code":-1,"message":"invalidlogin"}}
Stratum - reading socket failed 10039, disconnect
try different pool just to narrow down the possible reasons

Thanks.  I am actually trying to learn linux at the same time.  i tried 'sudo' but must be doing something wrong.  Will give it another go.

Thank you.
... just wow.. Do you intend to put this in your CV when you learn it?

Okay all m y cards are hynix so I can OC them a bit? My screen for timing looks nothing like his.

Seems wrong version of PBE, you need to find one which display the timings properly... did you try the one in the article I've sent earlier?
...and always 'Run As admin'....
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 04, 2017, 02:57:32 PM
I dont understand the bios modding. What am I to be changing on my Polaris cards I am only get roughly 20mh/s out of them on ETH.

When i load the bios following instructions, they say change timing, the timings are all kinds of crazy hex numbers.

I also get an error about my bois being too small

You cannot use GPU-Z to save the BIOS as it only saves half of modern bioses. You must use ati flash to save the bios. You are copying the memory straps from either 1500 (hynix, micron and elpida) or 1750 (samsung) and pasting it to all memory straps higher than it, such as 1650, 1700, etc up to 2000 or higher. This makes the memory run with tighter memory settings so hashes more. But it can also make the card unstable and/or crash.

How do I tell memory brand... also I am using ATI flash to pull them. They appear to already read as 2000 as thier default memory speed?
When you start GPU-Z, it reports the memory brand. Also use the following article for BIOS flashing as it tells you the correct Polaris BIOS editor version to use in order to get rid of the craxy hex numbers you're seeing:

Just upgraded from 9.8.... Zero difference...
9.7 to 9.8 was also zero difference.
I am running 6x MSI RX 580 Gaming 8GB, and would love to know how I can increase the hashing  Huh

Thanks much!

guys , is it possible to mine with claymore on two wallets? i support a lot of rigs and i want to take percent to my wallet like devfee to claymore. now i only use dual mining to my wallet but i want percent of ethereum.

Why don't you use a percent of your rigs to mine to your wallet?

i want percent of others to mine to my wallet.

to me this seems like you're on the dark side already - rogue mining...
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 18, 2017, 11:09:42 AM
Quick feedback : everything is stable with my 6 RX 480 rig, and the new AMD blockchain driver. With a modded bios, MSI afterburner for undervolting, I have 180 Mh/s back with ETH + DCR mining, instead of 160 Mh/s before   Grin

Wow!!!
That is impressive because after 24 hours is dislike the new driver more and more.
I just can`t get it to run as stable as before.  Also uses more power and a total of 173Mh/s.
Also with 6x RX480 so i really would like to know how you did that.
Maybe because i have different brands in 1 rig?

probably because he overclocked more the memory and dual mining Smiley

Sell your rig, mining is not for you.
You are very helpful. Thank you! Keep doing this!
After this:
****TRASHY HACKER LINK REMOVED****
I am ok again.

You're a newbie with 2 posts recommending a post from a newbie with 13 posts who is offering a hacked version of AMD drivers.

RISK level 1000%

Don't download software from unknown sources. Don't listen to newbies with only a few posts.  Chances are you are going to download a trojan or virus.

There's nothing wrong with the DAG patch that he was referring to. What's your problem? heard word "hacker" too many times for your own good?
I wouldn't bet on this.. or at least until after the official driver with DAG fix is released. If you install a kernel mode driver, you wouldn't know if it's a 0 day vuln until it's activated. And if I was the creator, I would wait activating it when it will be pointless for people to install it any more.

I am not sure but when I turn on watchdog, the rig will freeze whenever it detects any issue. It tries to restart but fails and it just hangs there. If i turn off the watchdog, the rig is pretty stable. Maybe it is just coincident? Or there is a bug in watchdog?

I think Claymore's watchdog pretty much suicides the rig on most hangs - mainly because if the thread gets stuck on one GPU, the rest will continue mining as long as each GPU has its own thread. Attempting to restart the application is going to cause it to hang...

Yep I noticed that too. That's why I always use "-r 1" option with Claymore miners, combined with "reboot.bat" in a miner dir containing "shutdown /r /t 5 /f"

I've disabled watchdog from day 1.  Pretty much everything is automated to fully recover when a GPU fails with powershell Smiley
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 27, 2017, 12:06:41 PM
Simple - Claymore's miner cannot set MVDDC, and if it actually was putting the GDDR5 at 850mV, it likely would barely function at all...

So I guess this is obsolete?

-mvddc   set target GPU memory voltage, multiplied by 1000. For example, "-mvddc 1050" means 1.05V. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-mvddc 900,950,1000,970". Supports latest AMD 4xx cards only in Windows.
Note: for NVIDIA cards this option is not supported.

For older GPUs, some support it via ADL. Claymore's miner will tell ADL to set it... and ADL ain't setting shit.
For me it works but I followed someone's advice (like 10-15 pages before this one): you need to use -mclock in order -mvddc to kick in. I can add that in order to use -mclock in claymore effectively, the GPU needs to be running at lower frequency before starting it (i think this was in the official docs on page 1).
