41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $280 in one airdrop, is it legit? on: July 29, 2018, 02:04:20 PM
Projects like Polymath may have been lucrative airdrops, yes, but those were airdrops in 2017. 2018 is a complete other story. There are so many projects nowadays that nearly all of them must be overvalued/-priced since there can't possibly be that much money in the market.
42  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Coinbase insured? on: July 29, 2018, 12:20:40 PM
If Coinbase gets hacked, it doesn't matter whether they are insured or not, the dip will be so hard that there really is no difference since BTC and all Alts will suffer so hard that you'd been better off burning the money in the first place Cheesy
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrop & Bounty Contractium - Decentralized Software on: July 29, 2018, 12:16:44 PM
Is that really the same project? I'm not sure and the name sounds familiar. Can somebody maybe link the contract address to verify? Would be very much appreciated.
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $280 in one airdrop, is it legit? on: July 29, 2018, 12:12:56 PM
The price tag that gets attached to airdrops often is highly inaccurate, so don't be frustrated if instead of 280 bucks you only get $28, $2.80 or 28 cents in value. google Coinstarter or any similar project and you'll see.
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why people invested in ICO that no guaranteed the coin will be listed? on: July 28, 2018, 05:48:12 PM
As soon as BTC rises again, people get bullish and throw their money at everything crypto-related that might yield some form of interest; sometimesout of sheer greed. This will continue to happen until a) there is no more money, b) it's regulated in the form that there are no ICOs anymore or c) until they learn. Whatever comes first  Cheesy
46  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am interested in creating a bounty program. Share some TIPS! on: July 28, 2018, 04:26:38 PM
In addition to all those insights given, I'd like to add that timing of an ICO, project, and campaign is also crucial. Especially ICO and bounty Campaign. To be on the safe side, don't use all your funds allocated to marketing in one go, it's too much of a gamble and very promising projects learned this the hard way.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN][ICO A2A tokens]✅ STeX: 1st Aggregator of the crypto-liquidity on: July 28, 2018, 12:44:25 PM
And will the distribution of tokens be in case of a loss in voting?
I participated in companies that lost in voting, but tokens still charged

What do you exactly mean by that? What voting, what companies? Do you refer to the voting on new tokens that get listed on STeX exchange? There is no scheduled procedure yet, afaik.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN][ICO A2A tokens]✅ STeX: 1st Aggregator of the crypto-liquidity on: July 27, 2018, 10:15:37 PM
ERC-20 Token Transfer Error (unable to locate corresponding Transfer event log)

I'd suggest that you visit the STeX Support Channel in Telegram: https://t.me/stex_exchange_support There, the team and the developers can help you directly. Usually you'll get personal help and if it's really a bug it gets fixed.
49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to become a blockchain developer on: July 24, 2018, 10:36:18 AM
Please show me how to become a blockchain developer?

What are your real goals, what is it you want to achieve? how would you define (being) a "blockchain developer"?

Have a look at some youtube videos and find out what you wanna do. There are a lot of people out there who might be helpful to you.

50  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Explain crypto to someone like he's five? on: July 23, 2018, 07:49:56 AM
Learning this digital currency is complicated. There are a lot of things one must know before investing in it, especially if you do not want to lose any amount you cannot afford to lose. So how would you explain Cryptocurrency and bitcoin to someone as if he is five years old?

There is a TV show in Germany called "Sendung mit der Maus" (TV-Show with The Mouse).

Everybody in Germany knows it since it first aired in 1971. They gave it a shot and tried to explain it to their audience which is roughly that age (3y+). In their example The Mouse buys a hat from The Lama and uses Bitcoin to pay for it. It's 2:25 min. and in German but you can use subtitles Wink

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zeg_R-PMAw

The explanation is a pretty good attempt. Very basic but, hey, it's intended to be. In general, I'd say that there is no way a 5-year-old can grasp either the implication or the scope of what the use of cryptocurrency means. So it's a moot point. You can explain color to a blind person, but it's not the same as seeing.
51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Effective Bounty Program on: July 23, 2018, 06:59:30 AM
How to organize an effective Bounty campaign?

It totally depends on what some key factors like how your bounty campaign should look like rsp. what you are giving bounty for, how large your community already is and how well you're connected with it etc.

You don't necessarily need an (external) bounty manager, you certainly need someone who is responsible for organizing and tracking it but if you're doing something on your website, a bounty manager or team isn't needed. you might want to consider advertising the bounty program in such groups. Some of them also promote projects they don't manage (for a fee of course).
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are those legitimate? (early stage coins/tokens) on: July 22, 2018, 10:36:23 PM
Some require a little background search, but topl looks quite interesting.
What do you think about them? How do you research early stage coins? Any suggestions?  Huh

What are your (initial) impressions then? Did you research them yourself? It would be great if you'd give us your thoughts on those projects, otherwise, it could be seen as cheap "advertisement" aka click bait.

The best way to research such projects is to get every info first hand, if possible. So join their Slack channels, telegram groups or discord. Visit their pages and research the team members. It's a lot of work but if you're interested to invest money this should be no problem.

There are also several threads that go explain some research methods and respective KPIs of projects.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does everyone seem to be so caught up in post counts, position, merits etc. on: July 20, 2018, 09:27:04 AM
So basically it's paid advertising and the more posts a user has the more money they can earn from it.
It explains why there are so many low value posts but it's a shame as it reflects badly on the forum. I'm sure the mods do what they can to stamp it out but they are outnumbered by the users so probably fighting a losing battle.

That's one of the reasons the merit system was introduced earlier this year.
This will get better when the number of ICOs is less which will be the case in the coming months as the aftermath of the bear market from end 2017 will be over.

There are also some places where you can have decent conversations and where the spam is significantly less.
A rule of thumb here is: the more complex the topic, the less likely it is a spammer will engage in the discussion.
54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Bountylisting sites do you use? on: July 20, 2018, 09:11:09 AM
I'm searching for serious Bounty listings?

Can you help me?

Really? There is a thread from yesterday on page 1 of this exact subforum "Beginners & Help" >> "THE LIST OF BOUNTYHUNTERS SERVICES"
It would help immensly if people would take a minute before they post their question. Just try and find the answer yourself, either by using the forum search or another search engine...

I think this forum section is created exactly for people who can't search or don't know how to google, so there's no point in butthurt and shouting Smiley

Just have a look at the kind of questions that were asked at the beginning in this section ~2011 or even a few years after that. Nowadays 9 out of 10 threads are spam or versions of the same questions asked again and again.

There is no butthurt and no shouting; and please, don't make it sound as if a forum or google search was a skill Cheesy
You need no skill in order to simply scroll down and read, you only need time and if people aren't interested in investing said time why on earth do they expect others to take time for answering their questions?
This kind of behavior only leads to more rules and restrictions in order to cope with this kind of spam.

57  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Create Address Ethereum ??? on: July 18, 2018, 01:13:06 PM
Please help me , How to create Address Ethereum?

I'd suggest that to skip myetherwallet or mycrypto entirely and a) buy a hardwarewallet, like metioned above or b) have a look at MetaMask. Using myetherwallet is just too risky for someone who is new to the space because there are scamming sites all over the place.

There are a lot of guides about MetaMask:

Or simply watch their video:

58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: issue with Wifi on: July 17, 2018, 11:26:46 AM
this is the continuation of my previous question, with regard to use linux rather than window, now i have successfully downloaded linux ubuntu 15. but i cannot connect with Wifi, how can linux configure with my Wifi? any help will be appreciatted.

Hi, unfortunately, this is not the right place to ask software related questions that have nothing to do with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in general. Please use an appropriate (Linux) forum or just follow the LMGTFY link Wink  http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ubuntu+15.04+wifi

It would be appreciated if you'd close this thread (bottom left).
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN][ICO A2A tokens]✅ STeX: 1st Aggregator of the crypto-liquidity on: July 17, 2018, 10:05:11 AM
is there anyone who can transfer STE from wallet to market? I tried to send and failed, is the token still locked? or am I wrong? can anyone explain?

To what "market" are you referring to? Keep in mind that the token got issued (re-issued) several times, so be sure to interact with the correct contract:

There are 3 versions of the STE token and 2 of the A2A token. STE is a dividend token, A2A a utility token.
The 3 versions of the STE token are:
  • STeX.Exchange
  • STeX Exchange ICO
  • STeX Exchange Token

Only the last one is important since the token got re-issued 2 times.

This makes it confusing and I think the team could focus a bit more on reassuring and explaining to people what happened, why it happened and what's to come- what they can expect. Sometimes people need to hear something again and again.

The latest STE smart contract would be: 0xffe04344f48e7ca2ee5e25bf557ac88b1b769cb3

Sorry for asking so many questions but Im kind of noob.

Where to buy perfect money / PM voucher without being scammed?

Thank you for your patience Wink

Hm, strange request but well  Cheesy Maybe this helps to find you the right exchange service: https://www.bestchange.com/bitcoin-to-pm-voucher.html
But I'd suggest to always use an escrow. It's always advisable if it's user to user.
