41  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No gains, 1 Minute Scalping Strategy on: September 22, 2023, 04:03:28 PM
Hi everyone,

I am a newbie.

I started trading BTCUSDT P. and testing a 1 minute scalping strategy (including several indicators) at the moment.

So far... I don't manage to gain any profits from the trades that I did place lately. I do manage to win trades, but the issue is that the fees killing my profits!

I am wondering if you have any suggestions regarding the above?
Maybe I should move to longer timeframe and not scalping in order to make profits?

Many thanks
Mike

Make your own trading plan before you start trading. In order to get profits you need to have risk-reward ratio over 2,5:2 and open orders accordingly. If your strategy works you gonna make the profit. If you still don't make the money then you need to make a new strategy.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bug or Fat Finger Reason for the Bitcoin’s 87% Drop in 2021 on: September 22, 2023, 03:47:31 PM
So in the other sense what dear you are trying to say is if the people who made a lot of money from this incident were allowed to move the money it could be directly or indirectly the platforms involved, from inside this manipulation is carried out.

Crypto market is not regulated. This is why sometimes you can see market makers pumping or dumping altcoin prices in order to gather liquidity from traders and manipulate the price. Everyone knows the way it works and it would be illegal on a stock market but here it is fine and no one cares. Same with the BTC drop.

Dear, I think Op is indicating something else, that is not about the ATH and ATL or correction, Op is indicating a particular event that happened back in the ending months of 2021 on the Biannce US specifically.

anomalies of a specific exchange are not sentiments of "bitcoin" as a whole. and such temporary glitches are not about "bitcoin" but exchange traded database units.. in which case when events happen, exchanges involved then halt any withdrawals whilst they sort out the bug, account the balances/error

binance also had a glitch that seen a $138k in june this year but no one talks about "bitcoin reaching new high"

many exchanges glitch.. so its become non-news. and does not impact "bitcoin prices" as a whole

in short "bitcoins price" did not sink to $8k. just a exchange had an anomaly that no one cares about. and yes these anomalies do happen but are of no importance to the grand scheme of things.

also the very short length of time of this event means not many traders were involved to take advantage.

i do find it weird that someone is posting in 2023 about a non news event of 2021
i knew its related to revelations of FTX in media.. but the way media and even this topic write about it, is as if FTX all by itself caused the whole of bitcoin to drop to $8k. when in reality the low of october 2021 was 60k not 8k

A large volume of orders was actually broadcasted to the market. This is not about the exchange. If you make an order with a volume which is high enough to cover all limit orders at once then the price will drop accordingly just in a second. This is what can happen in any exchange.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution on: September 21, 2023, 03:27:59 PM
This can be done easily with the custodial wallet, but if you have a non-custodial wallet, you must write a library[1] or use open source scripts[2] that have automatic automation of transactions so that the amount of X is sent every first day of the month at 12:00 and thus you can automatically renew your service.

Sounds like it can work like that, but there is still a problem that in such case the entire subscription process takes place only in client's wallet while the service also needs to collect this data in order to have the correct metrics (which are essential for development of the project's business strategy) . Therefore, for such option the wallet needs to share the data with a service and for the time being I don't see any way to bypass it.
44  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 21, 2023, 03:07:39 PM
Again, in this case the words in the fake tweets will again mislead the algorithm and the trading bot will make a mistake and cause the user to lose money.

I've got an idea. Somewhere there should be a bot which is instantly buying DOGE each time Elon Musk is tweeting something about cryptocurrencies.
100% win rate guaranteed.

This is a good idea we know already when Elon musk makes a move with their favorite coins people keep buying and the market pumps immediately but still there's a possible condition we know how does the market makes manipulations, better if the bot or the programmer itself makes a good statement that must need to verify the percentage of the pump, I don't know if its possible they can make a TA in the code to identify for the TP/SL if the pattern satisfied the condition.

In case with Elon and DOGE the percentage of the pump is always high in the momentum. So if we need to have an automated bot then we can just lower TP for like 1-3%. This should work for sure and at the same time with a reasonable leverage it should give a good profit. But I'm not sure about pump verification as it takes seconds after the tweet to get the price pumped which can only be caught with the automated bot.

Does anyone know if there is any no-code platform that may help to create a bot like this? I'm curious to try this strategy. I don't have any tech skills but the settings doesn't seem complicated.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 21, 2023, 02:08:31 PM
Your points are good. Fully agree with what was said but I'd like to add one point from myself.

You need to make a pool of reliable sources from where you can get the news or learn about investing. It appears that in the crypto space most of the information is just a low-quality rewrite of another website but with a clickbait headline. Your brain gets stressed after you read such informational garbage for a long time and you can't think as clearly as you should. So if you follow the market on a daily basis you need to pick only the information that you need.
46  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nexo - Anyone got any experience with them? on: September 21, 2023, 01:51:58 PM
I have been using them for almost 2 years and since they're the only platform that has not stolen my funds, I'm happy  Grin My guess is they're going to continue operating for at least few more years.

After the collapse of Celsius, it's not always worth losing your assets over those cents and dollars.
You need to conduct your own research as it is wrong to think that the platform is the same as Celsius.
I guess you misunderstand the way he said, there's nothing mentioned that they are the same platform, but investing on such kind of platform and gains is always a risk when it comes to crypto. There are lots of the same kind of company lost and filed bankruptcy already that's normal people won't encourage anyone to invest on such.

Everything is risky when it comes about the money. You need to be able to check the legitimacy of the project along with it's business model. So if you find that someone offers a large APY on stablecoins and the company hires a former porn actress to the team to attract new investors then this is a red flag.

Cmon, Celsius had lots of red flags even before it collapsed.

Considering the real-time audit, Nexo got completely different business model from what took place in Celsius, where they had a clear Ponzi scheme.

There is no different business model!
Celsius didn't go ponzi, they simply overlend money and a liquidity crash took them down s they had money in all the wrong places.
Nexo is, for now, it just playing it safer, acting more like a traditional bank but this doesn't mean that's safe and doesn't mean that it will guarantee any kind of profits whatsoever.

Celsius have a bright range of accusations including pumping their CEL token using their own customer deposits. This is far beyond overlanding the money and pretty close to ponzi scheme.

Quote
“We charged Nexo with failing to register its retail crypto lending product before offering it to the public, bypassing essential disclosure requirements designed to protect investors,” said SEC Chair Gary Gensler. “Compliance with our time-tested public policies isn’t a choice. Where crypto companies do not comply, we will continue to follow the facts and the law to hold them accountable. In this case, among other actions, Nexo is ceasing its unregistered lending product as to all U.S. investors.”

You were saying....

So what does it say?
Coinbase also was charged by SEC. Does it mean the exchange is scam?

Also, Nexo got licenses in US and EU which is a very good sign since all shady companies avoid these locations at all costs and usually prefer having a registration in some offshore zone.

You need to conduct your own research as it is wrong to think that the platform is the same as Celsius.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: X (formerly Twitter) may be telling people like me to exit the platform on: September 20, 2023, 06:23:20 PM
What about you? Are you willing to pay for X?

We need to see how its gonna work. It may turn out that switching to paid only model will be a be good for crypto.

First. Twitter is a shithole with insane amount of spam / shill accounts or just bots that never been used by the human at all. This is how 95% of crypto related accounts looks like. It is wrong and something have to be done to make the platform usable  for the normal people.

Second. It would be a nice move if Elon Musk adds an option to pay subscription in crypto and it seems like this is actually going to happen.

Third. Paid subscription will make it expensive to run bot farms which also means that crypto airdrops will have to pay more for twitter tasks which may help you to monetize your own account. It may happen that this subscription may get paid off by the few twitter bounties.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: To Deal with Resistance and Support on: September 20, 2023, 06:08:24 PM

That's very much true but I would like to limit its boundary as support and resistance levels for Short time frame traders as 30 min or 15 min really don't provide as much assistance as for the longer time frames 4 hours 12 hours or 1 day.

Indeed. This is why it is useful to use both larger and smaller timeframes. We can use 4h-1d timeframes to determine whether we are in a premium or discount zone and then switch to 15m-4h TF in order to find good entry and exit points.
This can be applied for pretty much all types of trading beside scalping on super low TF with low SLs and high leverages.

To deal with resistances and supports, you must know it and in action you must not bind yourself with an idea like that resistance is strong and can not be broken out, that support is strong and price will not be dumped under it. If you have such controversial thinking and belief, you will make bad trading positions and if you use leverage, Futures trading, you will be liquidated.
You can use Volume Profile to determine the strength of the level. If it shows a significant amount of orders behind the level then it is obviously strong and it will be safer to put SL behind the massive block of orders.

50  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Notable apps that can accept BTC for premium subscription packages. on: September 20, 2023, 09:21:38 AM
Am curious to know, is there some notable app(s) created for whatever purposes which has a premium subscription payment plan for any of its package and accepts or allows crypto or BTC payments for the package?

The only thing that comes to my mind is a financial services. If you are trying to subscribe on some analytical service with a high chance it would accept crypto payments. Even if the service itself is fully about traditional markets.

However, It is always better for services to have a client's card tight to his account and have all bills paid automatically rather than waiting till the client sends you his crypto.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Cointime Economics : Glassnode framework for Bitcoin on-chain metrics on: September 20, 2023, 08:54:26 AM
I might be speculating too much here, but maybe ARK will use Glassnode's new metrics to monitor the on-chain activity used to run that fund?
ARK could sponsor Glassnode for a million of reasons. They are probably confidential.  But even if ARK is going to use the new metrics it will still be used along with over a hundred of another indicators.

Just IMO, but financial aspect always comes first. Decent earn opportunities will always create the atmosphere for positive on-chain metrics.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Funding rate for make profit on: September 20, 2023, 08:36:23 AM
Regarding TRB, the overall uptrend was not broken. Setting SL beyond previous lows could help.
Depends on the time frame the trader used and whether it was spot or derivatives. Entering a position with a safer SL would mean one would have to do it much earlier, way before the funding rates became abnormally high/low.

People still got REKT on shorter timeframes and futures basing on the liquidations data.

Indeed. It is pretty hard to catch the funding if you targeting only on funding. This is more like an instrument that helps to find the upcoming pump and a juicy reward for the ones who hold a long position for the majority of the pump which can be up for up to a week.

You need to see the whole market picture and not focus on funding only.

The issue is that people keep thinking trading like a machine would work but the market is an emotional thing that a machine will never be able to learn.

Trading bots are not a source of free money. People still need to conduct market research to make the proper settings and control if they are still valid.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 19, 2023, 10:27:56 AM
The main reason for the increase in the price of food products is that the rate of demand is higher than the production. And the reason for the additional demand is the increase in population in the country. Population is growing at a high rate in every country due to which the demand for food grains is increasing day by day. Therefore, no country is able to reduce the price of food products, whether it is Asia or Europe. And for this reason it cannot be called inflection. Inflation occurs when the price of goods rises and the value of money depreciates even though production remains constant

Currently, in many countries the reason for inflation is different. Many companies have suffered during COVID and some of the supply chains are still recovering. This is a crisis of supply, not demand, but both EU and US authorities were printing money like crazy which was a mistake and only served their political interests.
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 19, 2023, 10:21:59 AM
...if they are not asking for KYC they are clearly stating that they do not care about governments and their laws, that's the most important part.
Sorry, I don't see it that way. What I see boldly written, though succinctly, on such action is the underlying selfishness of these exchanges to psychologically sap their customers by making them think they're not KYCing upon registration. They tell them that they want to safeguard their privacy that's why they aren't asking for it. That's not true. What these exchanges do is trick their customers in and later reveal to them that they've to do a KYC to upgrade their status to enjoy certain privileges on the site. These privileges will include, among other things, withdrawal limit extension. For me, I won't choose an exchange based on whether it demands a KYC or not. I check other vitals.

Well, some lower tier exchanges exchanges offer a certain limit of withdrawals or trading volume for unverified users and it usually works fine until someone deposits dirty coins (or trigger any other security alert). This is the best what CEX can do for unverified user. People are too naïve if they expect more and getting "sapped".

Anyway, most of top tier exchanges are now working with KYC and this leaves no choice.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: September 19, 2023, 10:08:51 AM
Real Estate investment does not have high risks but is comparable with the possibility of profits which are not high, so for investment security of course many people trust Real Estate.
I think almost everyone who invests anywhere will continue to invest in Real Estate for their future.

Investing in a field that you have mastered does increase your chances of reaping positive results, but there is no harm in trying to learn about investments that have the potential to reap profits.
There is a time for everything so it is important for us to understand the timing so we can enter at the right time.

Pro investors diversify their portfolio across different stocks, sectors, markets and real estate is used for diversification as well. Both crypto and stock trader should have it.
This is the type of investment you can use on your own if you need. Also, it protects from the issues on your main market.
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What exchanges allow you to trade derivatives even though it ban in your country on: September 19, 2023, 09:21:25 AM
For instance, GMX.io or ApoloX are decent exchanges with a good history and the worst thing that may happen is that you need a VPN to access the site if it gets banned.
I checked ApoloX and it seems they already have a list of banned countries. I don't think you can call them decentralized, especially if you're from the US. Not to mention the recent case of some 'decentralized services' that were fined by the SEC. On the other hand, I don't see the UK on the list so it can be an option. I'd suggest looking for a better platform or more decentralized service since the law can easily change in the future.

I've just found that ApoloX is actually a hybrid exchange (personally, I had more experience with GMX and dydx exchanges). But anyway, the website is only the interface and its administrator can set their own regional restrictions.
In such cases you can:
1. Interact to smart contract directly if you have particular tech skills.
2. Just turn on the VPN.

No one will freeze your funds on DEX due to regional restrictions so it should be safe no matter how you access the exchange. The only potential issue that in case the exchange gets hacked it may be harder to get legal support, but I'll assume this would not happen.
58  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Funding rate for make profit on: September 19, 2023, 08:52:48 AM
I get your point, that is not easy, though. Maybe you can pull this off on a spot market with a stop loss that is not tight but with futures chances of hitting a stop loss or liquidation are high. Coins with abnormal funding rates tend to become very volatile, as some market players have found away of manipulating the market to gain advantage through the funding rate.

A very good example is TRB. I have been following it for quite some time. Every time the funding rate is up the roof we have huge swings in both sides sweeping up some liquidity especially towards or shortly after the 8-hourly funding fee interval

I agree. Market is manipulative and generally, it all is about guessing the market maker's actions. This is obvious pretty risky and you need control your potential losses. But there is not so much to do during the flat market rather than researching the pumps Smiley

Regarding TRB, the overall uptrend was not broken. Setting SL beyond previous lows could help.
59  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you confirm my "DUMP" analysis? on: September 18, 2023, 05:00:15 PM

Step 4.
Setting up rules.

If current bars volume is 5 times higher than last 10 bars avg volume AND -%0.5 candle change on 5 mins chart. Thus, it's considered as dump and sell.
In order to calculate and follow this rule 7/24, i'm using an algo trade platform called Traderlands. (It's free)

Generally, you did a good job. Rapidly increasing volumes are indicating that whales are joining the game and some serious price change is about to come. The numbers for the rules would be different for different coins. Coins with lower MC would have a higher volume proportions.
I would say that during the flat market volume analysis should work pretty well.

Another idea came up. If we set these rules on BTC for specific setup and when these rules occurs, SHORT one of the low volume pair. We can select 50 pairs and filter them with low volume on Traderlands platform. I guess this is makes sense.

It fully depends on quality of these rules Smiley
Sounds like it is worth checking such strategy but I would recommend picking mid volume pairs since the momentum price of the ones with the low volume is exposed to market makers which may get easy money if they bump the price on such moment.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating altcoin for business financing on: September 18, 2023, 01:46:04 PM
All I found on the Internet were Crowdfunding sites that allow you to finance non-commercial projects or
private small business. Mainly associated with handmade or production of piece goods. Their reward for funding is basically the right to receive the product for free.
I have not found a platform for financing business projects. If there is a specific site, please tell me.

Your altcoin should have some real use which is backed by the real business. Without the proper use scenario, the altcoin would be nothing more than a meme token or just an alternative form of crowdfunding.

IMO, even if you use the coin only to donate on your business, creating an altcoin and promoting it is a pretty complicated for a real world business. It would be much easier to get funding from traditional sources, just make a clear business plan, show how you gonna make the profit and investors will queue up to give you the money. It shouldn't be the problem neither in EU nor even in Russia.
