41  Other / Meta / Re: Reduced forum activity on: September 20, 2020, 12:13:57 PM
I have noticed a drop in activity over the past months, although I think it could be a case of me finding fewer threads that interest me in the boards I frequently visit.
I looked at https://sitechecker.pro/traffic-checker/ to monitor the traffic on the forum over the last 6 months; can't confirm how accurate the chart is, but it shows an increase in traffic from last month after a drop between May and June;

If the chart is accurate, I would assume there was a spike in activity before May in anticipation for the halving and most people lost interest after that, as there was minimal change in price, leading to the drop in activity (this also coincides with the onset of lockdown in many countries as suggested by @mk4 above).
The current spike in traffic (last updated in August) could be a result of increased interest from institutional investors, such as the microstrategy purchase. The public may be getting bullish again about Bitcoin and renewing interest in it.

So I was thinking where you guys get the statistics and finally found the answer. Gotta add the website to my favorites.

And here are my thoughts for the decrease of activities;
1. Pandemic. Making everyone to work at home making them busy all day. Instead working in the office where you can just slack-off and post on Bitcointalk's forum.
2. Most people may have experienced scams in crypto and making them realize that they just wasted time here for earning not enough.
3. Lost of internet connection due to lockdowns and quarantines making most get unpaid. No salary, no bill, no internet.
4. And lastly, some did not survive for many reasons.
42  Economy / Economics / Re: get ready guys for this soon on: September 20, 2020, 11:50:44 AM
I do not agree with the opinion that only a few currencies are able to survive, such as China, Euro and USD only.
Because I believe every country will maintain its own national currency. As long as there is no valid evidence,
I don't believe that only 3 currencies will survive, because no one can guess the future. There must be a logical
explanation and evidence included, why some of the currency listings you mentioned in the opening post will disappear.
Because I believe all countries will not let their national currency just disappear, they will restore the economy so that
their national currency is valuable.

In third world countries there will be  cryptocurrency More used as they will Go to last Round  the Last 10 years the lnflation will kill those currencies completely.
This is the Reason Why cryptocurrency Adoption is biggest there

Possible to happen but almost impossible to come since even if the inflation rise still cryptocurrency will be nothing if not adopted by the government. If they see this as good alternative for their dying currency then provably we might gonna see some great changes in terms of usage as well with the value.

But this crazy thinking about overtaking with fiat is a dream for now. for sure government will find a solution for their own currency if the value is falling badly.

I dont think that's gonna happen sooner because there are still a lot of people who does not have access to computer or internet and does not want cryptocurrency. Fiat will still be there as many still uses it especially in businesses for paying employees. Also it is better to pay in fiat when buying something at stores and food chains. Cryptocurrencies prices are not fix so most businessman will not risk their business for such volatile asset.

45  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: September 18, 2020, 11:02:39 AM
Our status here in the Philippines is in a bad shape for lower class and middle class families. Most cities have been in lockdown and mostly everyone is on home quarantine. Some lost their job while others are being force to be on vacation leave. Regarding foods; meat and vegetables are facing an increase of 10% to 40% in prices. For fishes, it depends on the weather since we never run out of stock for fishes. I know other countries are even poorer and I just hope everyone can get through this time of pandemic.

48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: THE MOST PAINFUL DAY IN MY BETTING CAREER on: September 17, 2020, 12:42:23 PM
That Pain could have turned into happy tears if ever you won that 260k. Btw, are we talking about US dollars? Even a 5K lose to me would already weaken my legs. I'd like to share my most painful day too relating to gambling. I was playing KENO on Stake gambling platform and I was on automatic bets. I left for about half an hour and when I returned I have lost my $360 USD. $360 is already a huge sum in my country and it pains until now though this happened 2 years ago. I think it left a hole in my heart. (teary eyes)

Hope you get to win bigger than 260k someday laycon.. Let us know in this thread if ever it will happen.
49  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam report Facebook.com on: September 16, 2020, 11:49:58 AM
Yet to hear back but I asked a law firm to file a claim for 100 million in damages.

I also wrote to the European Parliament and told that I was going to remove my citizenship because of no Freedom of Speech

I will prove in this topic that Facebook is a Fraud and a scam and is in violations with human rights.

Reference point one : Facebook page Genetic Limit
Reference point two : Facebook page paperduck ( explaining why I could not post inside Facebook )

It's impossible to have Freedom of speech on Facebook because there is a moderator blocking it.

Suppose you are one person, just one person who has no friends and family.

When you use Facebook ads in this case you are posting to a Facebook moderator and that's it.

Whatever you post will never go to the public and beyond one person( The Facebook moderator )

These two Facebook pages and the explanation contains undeniable evidence that there is no Freedom of speech for a person, it's in fact impossible.

Okey now suppose you have Friends and Family and indeed you want to use Facebook ads.

The thing is that you again as A person.

A human being of Flesh and Blood Cannot connect to the people who you are posting to.

A real human connection that would occur on a street or elsewhere.

Whatever Facebook let's through and gets paid for in hundreds of billions is a blank text and a blank image and cuts out Freedom of speech and human connection and it doesn't matter who is running the ads.

My experience with Facebook in statistics.

Posts Inside Facebook : +- 26

Occasions where it was impossible to post inside Facebook : 1

Freedom of speech taken away on no grounds : 3 times

Number of times human connection reached : 2 times for a brief moment

( ad's were instantly terminated ) because getting human connection would expose and ruin Facebook

And because you can't get Human connection with Facebook, that means that the entire Facebook business model is a scam.

You can test it for yourself.
Endfb.com/gettingstarted

I am sorry but I am lost here. In my country we use Facebook like our daily MESSENGER and to get connected with friends and families. Are you saying Facebook.com scammed you? I don't think you will ever win against such big social media company unless if you have solid evidence relating to the scam. If your contests/posts have been removed, you can actually file an appeal and see if it will pass the community standards. It would be really great if we get to see the whole picture including the ADS that got terminated.

And to correct this link Endfb.com/gettingstarted since it goes to Error 404. Try this instead https://endfb.com/
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India looking to Re-ban Bitcoin on: September 16, 2020, 11:34:42 AM
Looks like is India is going full circle and trying to ban Bitcoin  again after the supreme court over ruled the previous ruling by central bank of india in March.

They also seem to be taking the blockchain good bitcoin bad argument. Some governments just don't know when to stop.

Im guessing they will be another battle in the supreme court which will carry on for another 2-3 years ridiculous.

Source :
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-09-15/india-plans-to-introduce-law-to-ban-trading-in-cryptocurrency?srnd=premium-asia

Maybe they are out of topic to argue with? Banning Bitcoin seems very ineffective and pointless as anyone can access it with just an internet connection and a computer or smart phone. Not to mention Virtual Private Network which comes very hand whenever websites relating to bitcoin market is blocked. Better accept it and let the entire citizens of India get informed of Bitcoin before the entire world starts to use it. I know a lot of smart people in India and they are very hard working so they should not just ban it instead support Indian developers and investors relating to blockchains and bitcoin.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About bitcoin's first transaction ($5 for 5050₿) on: September 15, 2020, 10:59:43 AM
First transaction ever recorded was between Hal Finney and Satoshi. They exchanged 5050BTC for $5.02 based on the electricity it needed for the mining of those 101 blocks. So the first price of bitcoin was about $0.01. Here's the transaction.

Now my question is, who sent the money to who? Did Hal Finney paid for these bitcoins? Even if he did, where did he send the money? Since he didn't know Satoshi, did he send the $5 to a bank account? This is the part where all that anonymity of Mr. Nakamoto doesn't make any sense.

Perhaps this is a close friend of Satoshi or his fake person who only knows him. It is also possible that Satoshi himself sent the transfer to himself by making his accounts in different banks. There are many options, but I want to remind you that Satoshi never said that bitcoin is an anonymous network. Just anonymization in it is stronger and more complex than in conventional Fiat money.

Definitely a close friend IF this Satoshi is real. What if Satoshi is still Hal Finney? He just made it up so that nobody gets to trace the origin and Founder? Mr Finney had died though in 2014 but WHAT IF he faked his death so he can enjoy hiding as Satoshi Nakamoto? With all the money he managed to make, he does not need to move those BTCs from time to time.
52  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: lost secondary password and some of Wallet Recovery Phrases lost too. on: September 15, 2020, 10:04:31 AM
Okay so I tried searching a solution from their Support and found out that there is nothing they can do for missing words on passphrases.
Check their answer here: https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/articles/211205343-I-forgot-my-password-What-can-you-do-to-help-

The only way is to keep on guessing or do some brute forcing applications. Just make sure you are using legit applications and not those which contains malwares and viruses.
Here is a suggestion from Youtuber Bitcoin Daytrader: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Y6TPGzVn0&t=9s
I have used Hashcat a few months ago but did not work for me when I was trying to bruteforce a wallet for solving puzzles.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: Your eyes can help your economy, please protect it for your good. on: September 14, 2020, 12:51:29 PM
Thanks for the reminders. I have been seeing additional blue, green and red lights besides where I focus my eyes. I do not what is happening but I am still here facing my computer. lol

Trading for the blind. I am pretty sure there are already blind people out there who trades crypto. Note that there are billions of people around the world and millions must be blind. We just don't know how they do trading. Maybe they ask someone help while trading or did some programmings where they can read via their hands.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With this recent surge in BTC, is it possible to have all time high this year? on: September 14, 2020, 11:03:14 AM
It is too early to conclude Bitcoin will reach an all-time high price this year, as it is currently still at $ 11,800.
Still too far from the all time high price of $ 19,000. If two months from now Bitcoin manages to hit a price
of $ 15,000. I believe Bitcoin can again reach the all time high price.

Having the same thought. However, we are now getting closer to the last quarter of the year and that is the time when we will usually notice if we will hit the new ATH or not. Now it seems that Bitcoin is just hovering around 10k$ this only gives me an idea that it won't reach the ATH this time perhaps this will only rise between 15k$ to 17k$. But anyway, we still never know so I think we should take this as an opportunity to accumulate.

The chance of reaching that is also slim since after touching $12k it went down again,
however $10k barrier is quite good since newcomers are also showing interest to this market.
This spot for investing for more can bring decent profits if you are going to take the long ride
and let all things to passed.

Let me add also that we still got less than 4 months before the end of the year.
A lot could happen within that period. Note that back in 2017, it only took a few weeks to reach that all time high price for BTC.
Now, with decentralized finance projects added into the market, that would greatly affect the BTC price at the end of the year.
(My point of view)
55  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's the longest shift you've ever worked? on: September 13, 2020, 11:36:04 AM
I worked a 14 hour shift 8am-10pm
actually not a shift but only a emergency at work that we need to work 16 hours a day for at least 2 weeks and 5 days.

that is the longest working day for me and also tiring and stressful.

that is why after that emergency and everything comes good?i took a long vacation of 1 week and go somewhere out of the city to relax and rest.

Noooo? That's insane! But honestly telling you guys here in the Philippines if you work as a Building Security Guard, other's have worked 48 hours straight or even 72 hours. A single shift for Security Guards here are commonly at 12 hours and due to low man power, if one of the security guard goes off-work, then the others will cover for the vacant shift. The good thing is that they get paid on their extra work. But really, working a straight 3 shifts is not healthy. I am not a security guard by the way. The longest I have tried working straight is for 16 hours as a call center agent.

The idea of quantum computer its there since 1981, but now we are a big step forward to make it happen, who knows..

There was also a recent tweet on Twitter asking to Microsoft for a Quantum Computer. Man I cant imagine the price for 1 Quantum Computer. I it going to be a very powerful computer and will be the god of brute forcing wallets if ever hackers gets their hands to it.
58  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 1,500 restaurants in France start accepting bitcoin payments through Just Eat!!! on: September 09, 2020, 12:44:40 PM
I think Just Eat's decision was due to the virus, COVID19, which brought down a lot of establishments to close. Now, people prefer ordering online and to attract more clients, they have added Bitcoin as a method of payment. This is just my theory though but I am sure there is a high chance this has been brought due to the virus.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached 10k USD, where Ethereum come at 352 USD on: September 08, 2020, 12:52:29 PM
Well, it is to be assumed that when Bitcoin falls in price, all altcoins go down or bleed out a lot, ETH falls per market share, when Bitcoin is in a bullish trend, altcoins tend to fall in price, but then they increase, that is why they always It is good to buy altcoins when Bitcoin has confirmation of being bullish and to buy altcoins on the pullback it makes, that is the best time to buy Bitcoin.
For me, Ethereum got much lower impact when Bitcoin is dumping, compare to other altcoins like around top 10 and so on, the dumps on them are really insane. On last price action run when Bitcoin reach around $12, 000 and Ethereum is on around $460, Ethereum got the more gains here.
I am glad now the Bitcoin dominance is back around 60%, for sure, we will make another support here for Bitcoin dominance.

I thought I was the only one who noticed regarding the difference. ETH is no longer that bad whenever BTC falls, right? Unlike before that the percentage and difference is huge. I think people have become confident on holding on to their ETHs and no longer are afraid of dumps. Good eye.

Holy cow! Good thing I did not purchase $SUSHI's when I saw it was trading at Huobi. I was tempted to invest since it looks very appealing and a solid DeFi cryptocurrency. Also I was in FOMO for what happened to $YFI and $YFII right now. I thought Binance thoroughly investigates all their listed cryptocurrencies since they always say that in-order to be listed at Binance, a fortified solid super hard than your d*ck project is a must and does not list just any of the cryptos. But I know for sure even if they got in trouble, Binance will still remain number 1 among all Centralized Exchanges.
