41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IRS made a mistake on: March 29, 2014, 04:01:50 PM
If the government starts to treat BTC and implements the laws accordingly ( stealing them, abusing them and so on ) that know knows what can happen...
42  Economy / Economics / Re: WSJ: Allen Stanford sentenced to 110 years in prison for Ponzi Scheme on: March 29, 2014, 03:52:31 PM
Lets put it like this. He lived like a king for years and now, until he dies, and that might not take long he will live in a jail. Many would like to be in his shoes...
43  Economy / Economics / Re: VISA & MASTERCARD has cut Russian banks. Cardholders cannot access money. on: March 28, 2014, 03:27:54 PM
Just because Putin is crazy doesn't mean that all Russians are crazy!I don't agree with what visa/master card did .Maybe is time for Russia to accept bitcoin!

Actually he only did what its has been done less then a decade ago with Kosovo. USA, GB, Geramny.... and others opened the Pandora Box not Russia.
44  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Make more than $32k? You are a one percenter on: March 28, 2014, 03:24:14 PM
According to http://www.globalrichlist.com/ if you make more than $32,000 you are among the richest people in the world.

Also if you have more than 1400 bitcoins you can consider yourself among the wealthiest 1% in the world along with the Rockafellers and Venderbuilts.

I missed something. 1400BTC = $700,000 thats not much and its not even 0.5% of their wealth
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox Lost 'Barely 386 Bitcoins' Due to Cyber Attacks - Not 850,000 on: March 28, 2014, 03:20:04 PM

http://rt.com/business/visa-mastercard-russia-sanctions-285/

Many russian customers of "sanctioned" banks are trapped abroad and cannot  access their money.

This is really the precedent. Now we see the power of totalitarian financial authority of the world.

Hey Russia,  it's really time to start using bitcoin, don't you think so?

Is that related to Crimea? Well if it is just w8 for winter and cold weather to come and Russia cuts off gas, that would be hilarious Wink
47  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS is going to tax Bitcoin on: March 27, 2014, 10:26:26 AM
Hi,

Well, Bitcoin has gained a bit more status, the IRS considers it like trading in property.

CNN:  "The Internal Revenue Service has issued a formal notice saying it can tax Bitcoin transactions, calling it a property -- not a currency."
<http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/25/technology/innovation/irs-bitcoin/index.html?iid=HP_LN>

IRS Notice 2014-21:  <http://i.cdn.turner.com/money/2014/images/03/25/IRS_Notice_2014_21.pdf?iid=EL>

cya,

Well that could also lead to taxing other currency we have, ups properties. Like credits in games like EVO, SWTOR, gold in WoW and such, considering it can be sold, bought, traded for something else...

49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value of Bitcoin will go down on: March 24, 2014, 04:59:41 PM
I have been reading such statements for few months now ... meanwhile, some people really became really reach ... therefore, go crying somewhere else ... I will take the chance ...

I heard that when price jumped to 260$ and then dropped... no it will never go high as that... then suddenly it was 1200$?!?

Trolls will be trolls, just don't feed them.
50  Economy / Economics / Re: The solution is obvious on: March 24, 2014, 04:57:01 PM
I don't think that is an issue. For common people that might be an issue, but for someone who is paying for goods/service he doesn't care if he is paying in a cryptocurrency that has value of 1$ for 1 or 650$ for 1. It's a trade system, like monetary market with currencies like Rubles, Dollars, Euros, Pounds...

52  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donate Now. Stop Russian aggression in Ukraine. on: March 17, 2014, 05:31:36 PM
When I read the title it sounded like " Your country needs you Now "

Also donations wont stop any attack on any country, so asking for a donation for that cause = not gonna happen...
53  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stare into the sun on: March 17, 2014, 05:14:27 PM
When I was at the beach in 2012, a friend of mine once said what if looking into the sun gave you wisdom and insight to your life and the universe.

I didn't really understand how that would work or anything so I didn't really believe it but thought it would be cool.  I instinctively concluded that it would damage your eyes and vision.  Until one day, I decided to try it.  I stared into the sun as it was setting, what I then saw was beyond anything I expected.  I saw the sun in it's true form, not just a white hot light, but a singular source of a vast amount of energy.

Throughout my journeys in life I would periodically stare into the sun, focus dead in the center and engulf myself in it's energy.  It gave me energy when I was weak.  It gave me humbleness when I sought wisdom.  The times I gazed into the sun most were the times I was eating the least and felt the most peace.

I reached the conclusion that what you see or feel when you stare into the sun is a reflection of your self.  If you believe it will hurt your eyes, it will.  If you believe you are equally powerful as the sun, it will flow through you and empower the very core of your consciousness.

There are civilizations that harness the sun's energy instead of food and some that have done so since ancient times, including the Aztecs, Incas and Egyptians.  People have been medically examined to abstain from food for periods of several months or longer by channeling the sun's mighty power for energy.

Our society bases a recommended caloric intake of 2000 per day and has resulted in an increased prevalence of obesity and disease.  The truth is once you have grown into your full body, there really is little need to each such consumptuous amounts of food.  I have fasted for four days harnessing a few minutes of sun per day, without lethargy or hunger.

I implore you to try for yourself next time the sun sets.  Tell me, what do you see?

LOL Is this supposed to be like that guy in India who says he hasn't eaten in decades and feeds off the sun?

That also came to my mind Smiley But really, are there people that actually believe that?
54  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 22 Messages From Creationists To People Who Believe In Evolution on: February 26, 2014, 04:24:04 PM
To me best response to a question, Ok then explain to me how did God came to be? A: He is the one and only, he has always been there from the beginning .. ( or something like that )...

But yes, i don't mind if people are religious, not at all, it just makes the world one funny little "flat" place to live. Even more so that adults are willing to believe in a talking snake, talking burning bush, woman created from a rib, that they love God who is willing to kill because of a revenge, God who commits mass genocide.... but yet they ask their children " aren't you a bit old to believe in monsters ".

55  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do you see Bitcoin in 5 years? on: February 26, 2014, 04:13:30 PM
[In 5 years I see Bitcoin replacing Paypal as the currency of the Internet. The price will be over $100,000 and it will be built into all sorts of applications from chat, to file sharing, to the fabric of the web itself.

I hope you are kidding Smiley The price of $100,000 isn't going to happen considering that would be a jump by about 180x. Keeping in mind that some have few 100k in their wallets that would put them in FORBES TOP10 with more then $20 Billion

People said the same of $1000 not so long ago based on similar reasoning. Grin

The price atm is about 560$, granted it was up to 1200$ (?!?) but then again, people did knew the price will jump but not many have been willing to put money on that and risk it, and it only jumped due to hype about the BTC. Considering that BTC isn't that wildly accepted ( still ) price of >100,000$ is, well atm not realistic. I really don't believe that you will have billions of dollars in your wallet.

Price?  Applications?  Mainstream acceptance?

Not getting into price but I would hope to see 5% of Internet transactions to go thru btc

5% is a bit too much. I read something that over 200B dollars is spent each year by online purchasing, 5% of that is 10B dollars, in 5 years that number would be much much larger, so not i doubt it is going to happen anytime soon Sad

But even 1% would be more then good.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Living off of strickly bitcoin for 1 year on: February 26, 2014, 03:42:27 PM
But that could only work in a countries that have accepted BTC on a larger scale. Well in a countries in which you can buy stuff using BTC, sadly there are not many countries like that.

I had iPhone 3s when it came out, at 1st i was happy, but then problems started, so after some time I throw it in the garbage ( it worked to some degree ) and bought Note one, never even had a slightest regret, now I have Note 3 and I'm even more happy Smiley
