41  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 15, 2014, 08:47:01 PM
since I previously said that I would post once my Jan 2nd SEPA withdrawal was processed, here's my update:

my withdrawal still wasn't processed this week, so I cancelled it, bought coins and cashed out through bitstamp. unfortunately not at the time where gox price was at 50% of the bitstamp price, but still with a good 30% markup.

if course, I still have to be able to get my btc out of gox but I still have faith in that happening, and the price differential was just too good to pass up on (and would have even much better had I waited another half day, but that's moot Wink)

re SEPA withdrawals: my withdrawal from Jan 2nd is still confirmed, I guess there must have been a lot of withdrawals on Dec 31/Jan 01 -- or the withdrawals are slowing down... don't know. will definitely post once the status changes still hoping for this week.

my guess is SEPA queue must be somewhere end of December now, my withdrawal from Jan 2nd is still in confirmed status. will post again when it is pending/processed (hopefully next week).

verification worked just fine with the usual documents (utility bill and government id)

non-chinese account here (their english website is actually pretty good), and I can also see the bank deposit option again -- can't use it without chinese bank account, of course, but it is there again.

So orders in USD etc will not show in EUR order book? To get an accurate picture of market depth all order books apart from USD are useless?

correct.
47  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 27, 2014, 04:26:50 PM
it's all interlinked via the largest orderbook (USD). when you put in an order for 700 EUR, it will show up in the USD order book as 700*EURUSD*1.025

for any non USD trade you probably pay the 2.5 % cross currency trading fee, unless you just happen to match an order from the current currency.

the mtgox faq entry explains the basics, the details are in the forums here (somewhat buried probably, as this has often been discussed in the past)

I guess he is saying that people deposit with usd and try to withdraw in JPY.

That is what's happening, but when you sell BTC for JPY on gox, you sell to some-one else who did deposit JPY, so mtgox should still never have to pay out more JPY than has been deposited. Since (they say) they do, they have clearly converted some of that JPY to other currencies for their own nefarious purposes, which as mentioned, exposes our money to forex risk.

incorrect. the other party could be using USD, EUR or any other currency supported on gox. all order books are interlinked (with the 2.5% premium applied internally).

gox has supported multi currency trading since 2011, and it has been in the FAQ all the time:

https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20800336-Multi-Currency-Trading

it works automatically for any non USD trades, though it involves a 2.5% premium (to cover their conversion fees probably).

It's a bug in EasyList for Adblock Plus. All links (including "anchor" links) are blocked when immediately inside of a post <td>:
Code:
bitcointalk.org##td[style="padding: 1px 1px 0 1px;"] > a

Complain to EasyList.

It's impossible for an Adblock Plus filter to block all of the forum's ads. Some ads can be individually blocked, but not all forum ads in general. They should stop trying or they're going to keep breaking things for their users.

thanks for figuring this out!

the thing is, i haven't changed anything in my browser or OS setup in the last few days... and suddenly it stopped working in FF26. browser was not upgraded in the last days, so I can't believe nothing changed in the forum that broke it..?

same problem here in Firefox -- the new # anchors stopped working one or two days ago for me.

$1160 to $1220 in one buy was impressive to watch!

I disagree. Are you willing to make a bet about it?

it started going down on gox at the time the 0% fee got active...

Yesterday for a short while Bitstamp BTC price was higher than MtGox, so I used the chance to buy BTCs at Gox and transfer them to Bitstamp immediately. A bit risky in the current market turmoil, I know, but a fast way of getting your funds out.

yes, this works when you don't have the funds in a withdrawal request already. By the time you get the withdrawal cancelled the opportunity will most likely have vanished again Wink

My SEPA withdrawal from 2013/10/12  went "Pending" today, will report once the money is in my bank (should be tomorrow or Friday).

received in my bank today. 6 weeks is still a long time, and with the higher prices, and higher Euro amounts, new withdrawals might take even longer now? they really need to get this sorted out...

1000 EUR withdrawal. Ordered on 2013-09-27, came through 2013-11-11 (noticed it today). 45 days to Sweden.

thanks for the data point.... gives me a rough estimate for when my 2013-10-10 withdrawal will probably be processed.
60  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 02, 2013, 06:15:49 PM
My SEPA withdrawal from August 31st still hasn't arrived, still in status "confirmed" as it has been the last five weeks. Hope this really gets processed soon...

edit: actually just changed to "pending" this evening, fingers crossed!
Did you receive the money today?

yes, money arrived in my bank today 8/31 -> 10/2... I liked it better when it was within a week!
