It's been a while since I checked on LTCD. I have invested in it and still holding. Obviously something has gone down. The price is what got me to come and check. I see that the team is changing or changed already.
It would be nice to have an update on the main page of what is happening so far.
I do have some questions if anyone likes to update me please. From what I read, Troll is not responding to emails and "he" holds the code to LTCD? If I understood correctly from reading some posts, and excuse me for not able to read all, that nothing can be implemented with regards to stealth,dark or whatever you guys call it for anonymous transactions?
If this is the case, then the "D" in LTCD has no value? Are the new dev's if there are new ones now, able to implement any of these features or Troll has the key?
I don't want anyone to misunderstand me or think this is FUD, like I said earlier, I'm still holding as I bought when this coin was @ it's peak. I would like to know if holding for weeks or few months will return my initial investment or should I write it off?
Troll is out but he is not in control of any of the code... This is a community takeover but the former lead dev is still here and helping out... VicVelcro is now the new lead dev and there is an interim committee that is being setup... The anonymous features can and will be added to this coin in time... We are currently reviewing our options with regards to features and finding new devs to help out with those things... So basically we are still in the re-organizing phase of the transition... You are free to do as you please with your investment without judgment but I have personally seen other coins transition to community control that have done quite well so I for one am holding my coins and doing what I can to help out... @Bitcoin Operated Boy Not finding fault with your suggestion regarding the current thread. Just want to repost my opinion to contrast yours, in case it has been forgotten in all the recent fuss. I suggest closing the current topic after the change over. Do not delete any of it and keep it for historical purposes. Post a link in the new topic pointing back to the old topic so that it can easily be found and so that it is obvious that we've been busy enough to need TWO TOPICS in under 3 months. Then use the new topic to continue into the future. Your suggestion has just as much merit as mine does. About the forum being closed (locked) down in order to open up the fresh thread.
I have thought about it and I think that keeping this thread open and keeping using it would be better from PR point of view.
We have had hundreds of pages of activity and it looks great and is the prrof of very large and active community. It attracts investors and proves that we are not scamcoin ;-)
Let me guys know what you think about it
I think I agree with Bitcoin Operated Boy on this one... But we are still a community driven coin and it's not really our opinions that make up the final decision... Not necessarily... Maybe in the short term but 2nd gen can be developed on top of our current block chain just as it is being done for bitcoin!! Lets get some basic features in place first... Walk before we run and such... This has always been a long term investment and we are only just over 2 months old... We need to restructure, re-organize, regroup, and then move forward!! I have spoken with Robbert via PM but we didn't get a chance to do a voice call as I was busy this afternoon and I have to go to work in a few min... I will pop in tonight a couple times while at work to check in... If all goes well I will have a skype conversation with Robbert tomorrow... We are in different time zones so it might be a bit tricky but we will try...
He is open to everything that has been suggested... We need to tackle this in priority and take it a slow... We need to figure out who will be on the committee first and foremost... Then create a list of tasks in order of priority... Vic maybe you could do that for us... A step by step short term roadmap to follow...
We have been in contact with a couple other dev's that might be willing to help but there is still more communications that need to happen before any announcement can be made... Thanks to everyone who sent emails and opened up the lines of communications with them!!
POS is also a priority and I think it will make most of us happy in the short term... We hope we can reach a deal with one of the new dev's to work on that but nothing is confirmed as yet so please be patient...
I will post more as I find out... Thanks again community... I love being part of any community that stands up, takes responsibility and says hell no we won't quietly into the night... Just watch us pick things up and run with it!!

I think the contest shoudl be finished adn winner rewarded regerdless of the content of the video. They deserve it. It's not their fault that 2nd gen is gone. We don't have to put their videos on the site

When will the Vid contest be done???
The video contest might have to be put on the back burner because we don't know about crypto 2.0 at this point so many of the videos would have to be adjusted to reflect this... Give some time for the community and Robbert to sort stuff out and get reorganized and re-focused... Thanks for the nomination... I would do the job if selected... I think we need to structure a committee... Robbert as Committee Chairman and Core developer Aleckloss as Website and Forum Administrator / PR A couple more Core Developers A couple people as moderators for the forums Xircom?? as PR Manager with two under him as Public Relations A marketing person (Any other position you guy can think of?) We fill these positions and we organize... We get the PR people to do weekly developmental updates to the community!! These people need to be in touch with each other and they need to openly and freely share information... And a game plan set in place!! If you want to be part of this team or you know someone who would be a good fit nominate them... We also need a couple Core developers to come on board as well... Some steps have been taken in this regard but this is of the highest priority... If you know of any good core devs please contact them and ask them to join this team!! |

Ok then but I would be grateful if Robbert became transaprent and at least show us how he looks.
I have done it myself and I encourage otehrs to to that too. Then we become something more than just nicknames here.
I would nominate aleckloss as one of our new devs, once he finishes the website. He said he will be also working on an extra wallet.
If he agrees to become one and become transparent with his photo posted and his first name.
I totally agree that all dev's be transparent and show who you are with pictures and such... Alex needs to put a section on the website to highlight the dev team... Don't want to show your face?? Then don't apply for the dev team... This can and will be done easily enough... |

Okay so here's the skinny,
TrollbyFire will not be back based on Family issues... He will be sorely missed but he is not irreplaceable...
The main dev Robbert will be sticking around as the main dev and still supports this coin and community and is open to building a new dev team around him... He will also continue to hold the keys to the github which isn't a bad thing... We need someone to be the gate keeper and he does not want to give up on this coin and community which he has put so much work into already...
I am not sure about the status of Xircom... But we need a PR team anyway so it's probably best to build that out asap and to find a couple more coders to help Robbert move this coin forward developmentally... Xircom if you are still involved with this coin please stat as much now or we will have to assume you have sold out and moved on...
As far as I can tell the other dev that was hired with the premine is still working on the features that was previously announced... So there's that... So besides losing Troll and not keeping up with communications.. Not much has changed with the gameplan... We can get involved and help out... Despite what others say about communities taking over and helping out... I have seen it work and it can work again... They need our help and that's what a good community does...
If I learn more about the situation I will let you guys know asap...

I have PM'd the dev and encouraged him to turn it over to the community but to also stay involved as a coder and member of the dev team... We need coders and it was his project so I hope he takes the advice and decides to let the community take over the coin... We will see what he has to say... It would be a shame if he decided to walk away and leave everyone without a means to turn this ship around... If he does decide to turn it all over then we need to figure out who will be holding the keys so to speak... It looks like we have a few people willing to volunteer but we need to discuss and figure out a way for the community to decide upon who will be on the dev team... Maybe have people volunteer for various positions and put it to a vote if there are more candidates then what is needed? Suggestions?

If they decide to turn it over to the community I recommend setting up a committee and having teams that are responsible for the various areas such as development, PR, Website and Forum Moderators, etc... I also recommend full transparency... It's the only way to gain and keep trust... There should be weekly development updates... Members of the dev team should be known... Pictures and names... I have seen the community take over a coins development before and run with it very nicely so I know it can be done!! We will not go quietly into the night... We will turn things around and get things moving... We have a strong community we just need to organize and just do it!!

I don't know about 2.0 features but our coin is already built in a modular fashion right? That already puts us way ahead of most other coins... There is no reason to not go ahead with 1.0 features because we can always develop 2.0 after the fact just as Bitcoin is developing 2.0 on top for their 1.0 blockchain... There are also side chains... So lets walk before we run... Lets get some features working and lets build our development team!! (Great work so far in putting out the call for help guys!)
Xircom... May I suggest that you do weekly developmental updates to the community... Communication is key to keeping everyone informed and happy... It also leads to new ideas and contacts... It can't be overstated how important openness and transparency is in this game... It's a trust game and there is no better way to maintain it then to be open and communicative at all times!!
If as you say this is a community driven coin then from what I have seen the community is starting to step up and deal with some issues at hand... This community is more than just coin holders and supporters... This community has determination, ideas, skills, and the willingness to participate!! Another reason and perhaps the most important reason to continue to believe in this coin, hold it, and support it!! Good job everyone!!

Just a suggestion... If we apply for SuperNet won't that give us access to some more devs as it's basically a community thing right? Maybe if we start to work with the Bitcoindark team and pool some resources that might be a good thing for both coins and communities!! Just saying we have options to explore if we lose Troll but I am not sure we have just yet... If he has some troubles on the home front he might just be unavailable for the time being... Understandable in those circumstances!!
Besides If he had to bow out I am sure he would do so in a classy fashion and make an announcement post about it... But my gut tells me he is still in he just needs time!! We shall see soon enough!!

Spreading FUD doesn't help anyone except those who are trying to shake the coins from weak hands... The buy pressure still is greater than the sells so that tells me to hold my ground... Look at the facts people and don't let a few spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt effect your decisions...
There is a new developer coming on board to help out, there are more people being brought in to help with the PR side of things which is a good move because lets face it PR is not their strong point... They are good developers and skilled at coding... They just need to expand the team and bring people on board that are skilled in the business side of things!! I think they are finally realizing they can't do it all and are getting the help they need. They also need a bit of time to sort that out... I am sure an announcement will be coming soon with regards to your concerns...
As I have stated before... I will be holding onto my coins no matter how low they drive the price down because you have to know that those who are manipulating the price will want to eventually push it up to reap the profits... It's a roller coaster ride that has yet to see a large peak... It's coming you can bet on that!!
