17.30.1029 crimson beta

But I had to lower the mem speed from 2020-2080 to 2000 in all cards. If mem speed if higher the same situation shows up.

This crimson driver seems to be very sensible for modification of gpu voltage, memspeed parameters, so after each modification system restart is needed if some cards shows 0mh/s.

And don't forget to turn off automatic windows driver update with gpedit - win10 is keen to update this driver asap.

This means 29.9 mh/s for now instead of 30.9 mh/s.

I will look for other options later.

Best Luck for you,

 azza_

Thanks. Will try this.

I would like to report an issue:

rx570 4GB cards with tuned bios, win10, latest AMD driver (adrenalin 20.7.2) - no mining after changing epoch to #352

Only first card shows 10 mh/s, the others fixed at 0 mh/s.

Normally around 30mh/s.

update: First test shows that lowering memory speed and getting back to very old crimson beta driver helps for now, at the cost of 3-5% lower performance. Memory usage around 3,895 MB

HWinfo shows that old driver is using around 27-29 MB of dynamic D3D memory while new driver is using more then 130 MB, at least for me.

What ver. of drivers youre using ?

I've got a rig with 18 GPU's total (10 AMD 8GBs and 8 NVIDIA 6GBs) and I'm having a DAG problem.  I have it set to run the AMD in one claymore instance, and the NVIDIA in another, and either can run on it's own just fine, but when I try to run both at once the machine turns off when it's trying to create the DAG files.  With -gser 2 I can see that after all the AMD cards load, 5 of my 8 NVIDIA cards load, but when it gets to trying to do the 6th it dies (no specific card, it seems to load them randomly each time but it's always on whichever card is #6, which is part of why I think it's maxing something out).  I've got a huge page file on a second SSD (tried 250GB on a separate SSD with no luck, then tried loading windows on a single 500GB SSD and using 250GB of it for the page file to see if I'd have better luck with it on a single drive) but it always fails around that 6th drive.  I normally have 4GB of physical ram in my rigs, so I tried 8GB but it's still giving me this problem.

When it gets to the point to "create GPU buffer" is when it usually just completely dies and the machine just turns off, but sometimes it doesn't shut down and will give me a "calc DAG failed" error.

Would love any suggestions on how to prevent this if possible or if there's some limitation with claymore.

Also no need of that size of pagefile. Needed size is RAM+numberGPUs*VRAMsize

on 8 gb RAM rig with 12 8 Gb GPUs is 104 Gb total

Hello!

Well ,first of all, switch from ETC to ETH ( if you're on ETC)  to check DAG issues, i think for now DAG size of ETH is lower then ETC , my rigs with the seemslike troubles working on ETH for now.
Then , it was a lot of post then increasing phisical RAM  solved alot of problems with DAG generetions. Sertainly 4 Gb is to low for those number of GPUs , suggest to try even 16 Gb.
And of couz try PM. CM is on its own way to dieing.

Hello, I can't mine ETC after 350 epoch by Claymore 15.0  Undecided
My Hash Rate is 1-1.5 mhs (RX470 4GB)
PhoenixMiner 5.0b works perfectly, but Claymore does not work. Any ideas ?  Huh

Hello !
1. Switch to iGPU if exists.
or
2. Put GPU with more VRAM in 1st slot (GPU0)
or
3. Use PM

P.S. Its bkz OS eats VRAM from first GPU ( about 350Mb) so present DAG file cant suite to VRAM.

Hello all, need some help mining ETC please. Been mining for 12 hours now without any info on my miner showing on the mining pool?

https://etc.ethermine.org/miners/3fC8F4db92162c3AEbe3b9a65fe7eAdD1C1b7b43/dashboard

this is my config file

-epool eu1-etc.ethermine.org :4444
-ewal 0x3fC8F4db92162c3AEbe3b9a65fe7eAdD1C1b7b43
-epsw x

getting 36mhs with a gtx1080 and nearly 300 accepted shares and no rejections according to the miner window.

any ideas? thanks in advance!

Hello. Well, it seems you use ETH address ( https://etherscan.io/address/0x3fC8F4db92162c3AEbe3b9a65fe7eAdD1C1b7b43) to mine ETC. Dont do that.

Must you really quote the very first post?

Give it up. The guy is gone.

You think he is gone, i think he came back at the end of this year, when the 4gb cards are stop mining.
Phönixminer ist also back after a while without any update.

Why would he do that ? He is rich.

Well, talking about heping people with his miner. Its a liitle not fair send it to unsupported voyage. If your are rich and happy why not give your code to some developers , let them continue after you with solving at least current issues ( 4Gb Ram GPUs, new GPUs support etc.)

Silently saing I dont give a f... . Hmmm.....

The code is already available on github. So if there was a developer that was inclined to continue they should be able to do so with little effort. To support this theory there are a few unofficial version of Claymore and PhoenixMiner that reduces or eliminates the devfee. Kind of a shitty move in my opinion.
d33z0r-reloaded and digitalpara for example. Perhaps you can find them and ask them to continue their work... if they don't mind the possibility of being sued for copyright infringement.
Making these mining programs isn't a simple task. Otherwise everyone would be doing it. Developers have lives. They have professions, family, health issues, etc. They aren't genies that will just answer everyone's beck and call. So let's not look down on them for their absence. After all, it may be the very reason why they don't show up anymore. Who knows? They might still be active on this forum under a different user name. Wink

Please, point me , there mr. Claymore put the code of his miner for furfer dev.

I assume it was any message from him like " here guys , thats the code, go on with it, im giving all rights to anyone who wants it", but i suppose ive missed this message, right ?

Well let's say this:
It's open source on github. Some users have already used the existing code to remove the devfee. The software is still available despite the fact that the developer *could* force them to cease and desist based on copyrite but hasn't. So what would that tell you?

Still no links.

Links i found on github. Well, i think its has only Claymore miner in its name, but has no deal with original miner. IMHO obviously.

Thanks for sharing your opinion

Well according to,

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

The hashrate is completely constant so most likely he has some 4GB GPUs and he is getting slower speeds with them due to the DAG limit being hit on the 4GB cards.

Like it was discussed in this thread many times, nothing to do but downgrade to Windows 7 or Switch to Linux or sell the 4GB and buy a 8GB instead. However most likely due to the low profitability nobody will want to go thru the hassle of doing that.

Have a couple of dozen 4Gb's , hashing at the same speed as before. So its about something else. And agree , selling 4Gbs for buying 8Gbs is nothing but pain and suffer Smiley ( done it few times not long ago ). We will see tons of 4Gbs very soon on second hand market.

BR.

I am not sure if Claymore reads this, but are you working on enabling somehow offloading the Dag after it reaches 4GB? Maybe using a rig with some 8GB cards and some 4GB cards and averaging the Dag between the cards. Would make your miner even more popular.

Would you sit down for hours on programming and bugfixing if you'r $ multimillioner ?

So forget about Claymore . He drinks tekila on the beach.

Hello!

Anyone tested the mixed setup ( nvidia + radeon) ? Any tips of setting this right ?
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: April 13, 2020, 05:47:45 AM
I think have a pretty good number on virtual memory.  Initial Size(MB): 3000 Maximum size (MB): 20000

You should set the amout of VMEM like summ of all GPUs RAM size.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: April 09, 2020, 05:46:05 AM
version 15 works correctly up to the 376 epoch. The new version is not needed yet

when using Windows the first GPU takes something like 140-150 MB more video memory on top of the other ones that are just mining, so with that the actually used video memory gets closer to the 4GB limit and instead of 20-30 MH/s you might be getting just 1-2 MH/s for the first GPU and soon it might even stop working.

First GPU always use more video memory for system stuff.
So the main problem does not depend on CM version but on size of the DAG file required to mine etherium and loaded into the GPU memory. The DAG size increases by 8MB in a few days when the epoch changes. Therefore it's inevitable that soon 4GB GPUs will no longer be able to mine ETH, as happened in the past years for the 2GB / 3GB GPUs.

In short term some workarounds could be:
1) Use a different PCI slot (different from first: PCIx16_1) for 4GB GPUs or enable integrated GPU.
2) Switch to linux which uses less memory for first GPU.

Personally, although I am still able to mine ETH with CM 15 / WIN10 even with a 4GB GPU in first PCI slot, sometimes when the epoch changes the hashrate decreases, I have to manually restart CM or Windows. In my case, other miners no longer work for 4GB GPU: they already start working with a low hashrate.

1) Use a different PCI slot (different from first: PCIx16_1) for 4GB GPUs or enable integrated GPU.

IMHO there is no point in that. Any GPU with attached monitor will be the first GPU and will display dektop , eating memory from GPU, so it will have less RAM to hold DAG file and we will face this issue.

I think of 3 ways : 1. GPU0 with 6-8 Gb RAM. 2. Inegreted GPU with attached monitor. 3. Linux distro as it consumes less RAM ( will do but will be the day it fail)
