41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 20, 2018, 10:50:37 AM
It seems to me that it is too early to accuse the exchange of fraud, I read a lot of negative reviews, but did not see direct evidence.

Well, it's not too early for us to lump you in with them for making such an ignorant post. Read the front page of this thread which gives plenty of proof that they have been scamming for a long time. The only post that you could make in support of BiteBTC would be proof of a trade with your account. Not speculative crap on what you think or reason PROOF. Plain and simple - not one person has been able to provide proof that it is legit, yet many people have given proof that they got ripped off and cannot get approved on the exchange. Multiple coins have proven that the volume on biteBTC is fake. One poster showed where biteBTC did not even look at the necessary software that it takes to list a coin on the exchange yet said it was a good coin to list. This is a blatant theft of the listing fee by small marketcap coins and then manipulation of the data provided by those coin users. It is an outrage. So, the direct evidence is on page one of this thread. Go back and read that before you make an ignorant reply again.

This happens all over the forum, it's called black marketing, I've seen how many exchanges and projects are accused of fraud, but these same exchanges and projects have been working for many years, they have their own customer base. I have the main question, who will work for several years with the same exchange, if it is a fraud?

Hey, paid believer, if this "exchange" is that serious why have they locked their thread on Bitcointalk?

Nothing to hide?

Hi guys,

I am not a crypto expert, nor pretending to be one. I am also not an expert in determining scams and the likes. As you could see in my profile, i am just a newbie here, tho i try to read as thorough as my time could permit. So let me share my 2 cents here, as i see this platform a democratic avenue for views and opinions, even for small time like me.

As early as first quarter this month, bitebtc had released its intention to comply with the KYC procedures of singapore, as they were physically situated there. I know everyone who is crypto enthusiast noticed how government now wants to regulate crypto, exchanges and the likes. Bitebtc, as legal as possible, wanted to adhere to the law. And this has been published on their newsfeeds, tweeter accnts, and at times would answer to your emails and chime into bitcoin talk discussions.

There was a time they were actively participating in the discussions despite the bash they are getting, later on they just decided to focus on appealing their case with singapore. Despite that, there were regular updates from them on their case.

In the recent past, they change jurisdiction, since they find the regulations in singapore stiff and already becoming detrimental to their business and clients. Just recently they announced, that they got a green signal to process registrations, no later than august 21, however, they also put a disclaimer, that approvals may take days because of huge amount of pending applications. As i saw on one of their email replies to one of the free thinkers here, they have roughly approved 10,000 members prior to KYC implementions, and pending 60000 more (probably more than that by now).

Crossing my fingers, we will see approved applications post August 21 and moving forward.

Some disgruntled members here are actually coin developers, who paid to be listed on their exchange - they all have the right to feel they were cheated or scammed. My opinion is, bitebtc could have handled those cases appropriately and could have been upfront with them with the situation they face, since right now, they doubt the legitimacy of the exchange because not a single supporter of their coins is being approved.

On the other hand, if bitebtc was an exit scam, why didnt it approve all those 70k + applications. Common sense tells me, it would have profited a lot and could even entice more listings if he did that and just ran away with all the coins their members have and the listing fees coin dev paid. But it chose not to do that.

Again, this is just my 2 cents, I am entitled to it, as you are entitled to yours.

I would probably have many haters after this post, but i encourage you to wait until the 21st and a couple of days. For all you know i may be wrong, or i may be right. So for all the haters out there, give bitebtc this week. And just persecute me next week, or hoping this week wil change your mind set.

Also i appreciate your concern to the community, by warning them of possible scams and what not. However, what if you were wrong? Theres also a chance you are right. That will be answered in the next few weeks or so. But i hope i am right..

READ THE FRONT PAGE OF THIS THREAD - BiteBTC is not going to approve any accounts as they have not done so up to this time. They won't reply to any criticism on twitter or their bitciontalk threads - instead they delete the posts, block the users, and try to threaten a lawsuit. They don't have an exchange wallet holding funds for the coins they list. They list the coins with fake volume and even in the middle of forks (which is impossible). They even said they reviewed and verified a completely fake coin with no github in this thread. My opinion is that then they hire the likes of you to come here and try to fud this thread. All the proof you need that this is a fake exchange has already been provided. Unless you got proof that it is a legit exchange - like a logged in user account making trades backed up by explorer proof. Shut up and take your scam marketing efforts for bitebtc elsewhere. You are just as fraudulent as they are for trying to propagate that they are legit to users who now unfortunately know better. Coingecko was smart enough to remove this fake exchange and pretty soon coinmarketcap will as well. BiteBTC is a complete fraudulent exchange. There is no KYC requirement like they propose in singapore because there are other exchanges in singapore like COSS that do work. It does not matter why they did not approve the applications yet, it matters that they did not approve those applications, kept the data, took the coins money to list, show fake volume, and do not reply to support. Pretty much those are the items we want answers to not speculation and nonsense logic about what you think might be happening - we want answers for what DID happen.

I will update the main page with this...thanks

Damn looks like you provided completely fake links to github and explorer and they still approved your coin listing. This is probably the best proof we have yet of biteBTC being a complete scam.
44  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 19, 2018, 12:54:30 PM

If we talk about young and cheap coins, this situation is possible, but if we talk about BTC, its price on different exchanges can differ by a maximum of 4-5%.

I do not understand the logic of this dispute, because BiteBTC prices are the same as on other cryptocurrency exchanges.

In fact, the prices for the same BTC differ from other exchanges. I'm not sure BiteBTC liars, because the exchange itself looks pretty serious.

Yeah but that is all it is - looks. Make an account  on there and get approved and send some screenshots if you think it is serious. You will not get an approved account and probably will get your identity stolen.

ah ah ah ah ah
i am happy first step
removed from coingecko
https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/bitebtc
You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.
Why do you distribute non-working links?

Because the whole point is its a non working link due to the fact they were outed by coingecko as a scam exchange:
  • no real trades
  • no valid users
  • scamming new coins for exchange listing fee
  • possibly honey pot for state ids from users trying to trade

Bottom line is this is a phishing site that looks like an exchange

sad news, is there a reason for the removal? coingecko is a serious platform, what is the reason?

You must not have read the first page or anything else in this thread. They were removed because they are not a real exchange and are shpwing fake data. Coinmarketcap needs to remove them next.
47  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 18, 2018, 11:01:50 AM

Sometimes the price of the same coin on different exchanges can be seriously different, I have seen a difference of up to 30%.

If we talk about young and cheap coins, this situation is possible, but if we talk about BTC, its price on different exchanges can differ by a maximum of 4-5%.

I do not understand the logic of this dispute, because BiteBTC prices are the same as on other cryptocurrency exchanges.

but they are fake prices because you can't really trade there.

Thank you for sharing this information. I have never heard about this BiteBTC exchange before. After listening to what you said, and plus the negative comments of BiteBTC in this thread. BiteBTC is in my blacklist already.
I would recommend you not to rush to conclusions, because BiteBTC exchange traded very rare coins, which are not present on other exchanges.

Tell you what - you refund our 0.1 BTC personally and get them to delete our files or open our accounts for trading and we will not "rush to conclusions" that are logical and sensible based on the treatment we have gotten from BiteBTC

Stop pasting this bitebtc sponsored response on this thread. You are just as bad as biteBTC when you do - which alerts us all you have been paid for this post.

Here is our thread in the same scam section of bitcontalk:

I will update our thread and add your story.
50  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 17, 2018, 06:01:54 AM
I've signed up and submitted my documents for KYC in the beginning of May. Still waiting for account verification. I exchanged a couple of emails with their support but their responses seem strangely generic. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out...
You need to be patient and just wait, in the hope that very soon to cancel this procedure KYC. I don't see any other options.

Yeah, waiting is exactly what I'm going to do. If they enable trading - great. If not - no problem, there's plenty of exchanges out there that do mean business.

What are you going to do if they use your documentation to steal your identity? still no problem? This is THE problem and why we made this post. It's not really about the 0.1 BTC they charged.

You should fill out the police report that was posted on this thread earlier. Does someone have a link?
51  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 17, 2018, 05:59:25 AM
Look at how it trades, just sit for a while and look at any of the tokens and you will immediately notice that there is not a trade but a Scam
This well-coordinated fraud, they invented a story about his not allowing the laws to fool people's brains

This is how I see it also.

Hope EGEM will escape the troubles ELLA in.

With how active the EGEM community is, I do not have any doubts on our future.

Also EGEM Devs are transparent and not "secret anonymous".  EGEM Devs have already attended conferences and post pictures of themselves having group dinner meetings.

can we get EGEM on ledger? its only avilable on trezor atm

Thank you for this post as it reminds me. According to the engineer who put the trezor interface together, both hardware interfaces are in progress. However, he reminded me that the trezor interface is actually only good after the next firmware update.

Also looking for a thumbs up on this post (ledger support request)....

https://github.com/LedgerHQ/blue-app-eth/pull/28

That will get ledger attention

Thanks!!

Thanks for infos. I wonder that I participated their some airdrops and they sent some rewards to my eth wallet and some claimed to be seen at exchange after confirmation. Why did they send those rewards? If it is not bitebtc who sent rewards, who did send them? In addition to this I cannot understand for just 0.1 0.2 or 0.5 btc, why do they give so much effort? If exchange is scam for now they only can steal some small amounts money of a few projects. Your claim is a strong claim. But I still cannot understand these issues.

If you are claiming you have an approved account on their exchange then prove it. Show us the transactions of the airdrops and those results in your wallet history on the exchange that match. you can black out your personal information. I bet you won't do this because not one other person has been able to so far.

And I continue to reiterate that if some people came up and started proving the things they are posting on here I would apologize...

but also - I am still curious why NONE of the EGEM users ever got approved or could trade and who was doing the trades that are on the site for EGEM....

and how the exchange rolled out the EGEM wallet in the middle of a HARD FORK with no update

and how they screwed up and chose to do this to a coin where we only have a very small amount of coins in circulation...and know who is doing the trading because of a tight community

so....its a little beyond just prove it with a screenshot - but still even with that - no one has been able to prove a single transaction on biteBTC

Prove me wrong - please!

I did not say you are wrong. I just cannot figure out why they show such a great effort  for a few BTC. My account is also not confirmed for 3 months. And I also think your claim is correct.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah - I have not had one claim show an approved and trading account that was real yet. This is why we are worried about it. It's not so much the 0,1 BTC they charged - but the honey pot possibility when they ask for sensitive data and do not approve accounts plus provide fake volume and trades to make it look real. Coin Market Cap needs to de list this exchange and mark them a scam like CoinGecko did.

They tricked a lot of developers. But who the on its stupidity still continues to them to believe.
Is there any way you can prove that? I am neutral, but when such accusations fly, they must be supplemented with evidence.

History of bitbtc scamming TWO coins begins on page one of this thread - please read it before asking for evidence and being "nuetral" on page 12 when all the evidence is on page 1

I also adhere to neutrality, I can not say that the exchange deceives its users, because personally he did not check.

Stop typing an ambiguous comment like this on our thread when the entire history of TWO coins being scammed by the exchange on page one of this thread and coingecko has them flagged.

Question: did your coin list on biteBTC and has any user been validated and can trade there?

If you think BiteBTC took your money and no one can trade please join our thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4612714.0

Or if you have proof biteBTC is legit please post that also...for some reason EGEM and GLOBYCOIN both seem to have been ripped and other coins report the same thing.

I was pointed at your coin for ask this so if I am mistaken or you did not list there please let me know and I will delete.

Thanks

I counted there more than 40 coins for which there is no trading(the price of 0.00000000BTC).So no one from the community of these coins was able to pass the verification procedure.
I didn't see any coin that didn't have trades. Please give examples. I am new and would like to clarify this issue.

They are fake trades that only show up on the exchange - but try to find the people that made those trades - or try to get an account approved to make a trade - or try to find the exchange wallet on the EGEM chain - you won't be able to because those things do not exist.
