41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Premiere: on a red day on the market Waves became 10 USD token on: December 10, 2017, 06:28:32 PM
waves broke today the psychological 10 USD barrier

~Image Snipped~

i knew that its efficiency and lower transaction cost will compete with ethereum grats to all other token holders

A true success indeed. Sadly, 10 USD per wave doesn't really mean anything meaningful.

Take DigixDao (DGD) for example. 1 DGD is worth $100, yet it's actually 10 times smaller than Waves, which has a value of only $10 per wave...
So how does that work?
Easy! We have to look at the marketcap. If a coin has a supply of only 1000 coins, it's obviously much easier to grow its value than for a coin with a supply of 1 trillion.
By reaching $10/token at a circulating supply of 100 million Waves, its marketcap is 1 billion.

By saying it rose to a market cap of 1 billion, you're giving far more useful information.

And that'd actually make it interesting.

Hi,

I just wonder.. When do you heard of bitcoin / blockchain.

There is a large Spam Mega-thread about this already: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1132607.0

So if you're really wondering about how&when other people first heard about Bitcoin, please try reading that thread instead of starting a new Spam Mega-Thread.

Please lock this before all Signature Spammers arrive and we got ourselves another Spam Mega-Thread.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC has no future, nor should it. on: December 10, 2017, 06:09:36 PM
It's a pretty quite project but it's more than alive! What can you say about the recent grow from around $15 up to $35? Doesn't this seem like a good sign for ETC?

There are a whole ton of shitcoins constantly being pumped and dumped from $1 to $10 and back to $0.05. It's the definition of the crypto-market.

It could be a positive sign for ETC, if it was healthy growth.
It would be a very negative sign for ETC, if it was a pump...

I feel like its growth is probably due to a pump, which obviously means that ETC is not gaining any popularity, besides that of P&D groups of course.

So although it could be a positive sign as healthy growth, ETC just doesn't offer enough features for us to abuse. There's no use to it.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC has no future, nor should it. on: December 10, 2017, 05:08:55 PM
Many people seem to forget that ethereum classic still has the trust from Grayscale. This is something that only an immutable cryptocurrencyike it could get. Cryptocurrency users have always been sceptical on ethereum after the fork so ETC will always live on.

https://grayscale.co/ethereum-classic-investment-trust/

It doesn't matter. Ethereum Classic doesn't have any substantial use. Its growth potential is very limited, as no one's gonna take it over other cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum is an awesome blockchain to put your tokens & kitties on.
Bitcoin is the original, most accepted crypto and people can't let go off it.
Litecoin is superior to Bitcoin in every way besides current volume & worldwide acceptance.

Then there are some unique cryptocurrencies that offer awesome features, supporting their growth... But Ethereum Classic doesn't have those awesome features.
Unlike Litecoin's superiority to Bitcoin, Ethereum Classic isn't much better than Ethereum.

It's garbage to be honest.
45  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on bittrex on: December 10, 2017, 04:47:58 PM
I am about to sell NXT and am wondering if the funds return to my bitcoin wallet? I have only bought on bittrex so I need some advice if anyone can help!
You can check EtherDelta, coinexchanger , Polonix hope you can sell any coin . I'm see you use bittrex , it is a one of the best one place if you try and it will be solve your problem.
First of all, that's a relevant response.  Second of all, I see you're recommending Poloniex and you've even spelled it wrong?

Bittrex is indeed one of best places if you:
-Want to mess with one of the main purposes of cryptocurrencies: Staying anonymous
-Want to risk losing your funds due to Bittrex freezing accounts
-Want awful customer support

Poloniex is even worse. They're making coins "disappear" out of your address, offering absolutely NO customer support and have an awful design.

Etherdelta is too complicated to use for a newbie like him. Not sure about coinexchanger though.

So if you post an irrelevant answer, at least try to add some useful information...

-=-=-=-=-

To OP: After you've sold NXT on Bittrex (for Bitcoin, I assume?), technically, the Bitcoin stays in Bittrex's wallet. Though you have Bitcoins on your account balance, which you can withdraw. Withdrawing means Bittrex is sending funds from their wallet to your wallet.

Thus, after selling NXT, you have to withdraw your Bitcoins and then they're in your wallet!

PS: Please do not deposit too much money on Bittrex. They are freezing accounts and offering little to no support once your account is frozen. Sadly, this means that you might never gain control over your funds again.

46  Economy / Economics / Re: STOP #HODL go #INWEST on: December 09, 2017, 05:01:09 PM
Do not #HODL go #INWEST support start-ups

Only investment is healthy and makes any asset useful

This is true for $, gold, bitcoin or any other asset, fiat, basis coin

HODLing under mattress in hope that speculations will make you rich is nonsense killing the economic and technical progress

USE it or you will LOSE it

#Bitcoin HODLer nowadays look like old people holding their assets under the mattress instead of investing into crypto currency world.

Even if somebody decides to go #INWEST into something new #hodlers starting a shitstorm, because these cocky shitless pensioners simply scared to lose without understanding what all crypto technologies are about.

Imagine what we can reach with current 200 Billion Market capital if at least 10% of it will be on USE #INWESTed into different projects changing the world.

I am really upset to see how bitcoin is becaming just another shity speculation object of wall street - they are all alteady preparing their "future" trading, frequent trading, margin trading instruments to enter the crypto world and SPOIL it, like it is in money market going on: only speculation and no any interest on where you invest and why.

Agreed. It's getting annoying that everyone simply recommends others to keep holding their coins. That is literally creating a bubble.
Investing is a way better option. You're supposed to invest in things you believe in, not to HODL trash you think could grow in value soon. That's just a really stupid attitude.

For some reason, people blindly invest, hoping to make a lot of money, whilst they forget that they should try to think for themselves a bit as well.
A lot of people who own Bitcoins, don't even know what it's for exactly. They just think "It has a limited supply, so its price can only go up in the long-term". That's what they're told and that's the only thing they know, sadly.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's your analysis of LTC and what's your thoughts of the application of it? on: December 09, 2017, 01:08:13 PM
From all the altcoins, LTC is the one with the brightest future. It is implementing all Core technologies ahead of bitcoin, and it is more apt for daily payments than bitcoin itself.

Its correct value is 1/12 of bitcoin, which is the historical value of silver in relation to gold.

I agree on the fact that LTC is the most potent coin out there.

I completely disagree though, with your statement "Its correct value is 1/12 of bitcoin, which is the historical value of silver in relation to gold". It's not true.

Litecoin isn't like silver to gold. Litecoin is currently not as much accepted as Bitcoin, but it will be.

It's gaining support from a lot of places and is indeed far more apt for daily payments than Bitcoin itself.
And what is Bitcoin's use, if it's not used for daily payments? It will turn into a collector's item. Nothing more, nothing less.

I feel like there will be an altcoin (Litecoin perhaps) taking over  Crypto-market dominance from the "invincible" Bitcoin.

Therefore, Litecoin's correct value is much higher than Bitcoin's current value.

-=-=-=-=-

I feel like Litecoin is going to rise to a value of $10,000 / LTC in a couple years. It's gonna take over BTC.

48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't be late for the crash - you only get so many warnings on: December 08, 2017, 11:36:47 PM
WARNING
For those of you who haven't followed the OP --- He was an active promoter of BCH. Since 3 months ago he joined the BTC FUDding BCH promoting camp, heavily involved in talking people into dumping their BTC during the BCH drama

Please check past posts for evidence.

Follow his advice at your own risk!

Thanks for pointing that out, although he is kinda right: It's going to crash at some point (unless it's upgraded.)
I feel like people shouldn't follow anyone's advice blindly though... And if you do, losing your money would be your own bloody fault.

Ty for the warning though.

>-=-==-===-==-=-<

The bubble will collapse. Until then, it's still a nice way to make some profits though :-)

We will all die, yet we want to live our lives well. Before we die, we want to have as much fun as possible, just like we want to profit as much from Bitcoin as possible, until it collapses.
No one knows when that is, how it goes or why it happens. Sadly, it'll be too late for the investors, once we know the answer to those questions.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: When would the BTC bubble burst? on: December 08, 2017, 11:16:06 PM
Not attempting to start a FUD thread
You already did by assuming that Bitcoin is a bubble. And you specifically wrote: "When would the BTC bubble burst?". Seriously?

Kinda true, but Bitcoin is in a bubble. I don't get why people keep denying it.. It's very simple to understand if you just think about it... Almost everyone is in it, only to sell later on for more money. That's not gonna keep going forever. It's a bubble. It's gonna burst.

His intentions were not to start a FUD thread. It's likely that he didn't want to have a large discussion whether Bitcoin is a bubble, as the subject was on when it would burst.
Obviously, he simply tried to keep people from spamming "Bitcoin isnt bubble coz money and investor omg omg more money"

My forecast was 15k by year end but that's gone and I've stopped forcasting of BTC price.
No one can predict the price, otherwise, everyone would be rich, but at least now you know.

Incorrect. If everyone can predict the price, the price wouldn't move, so there won't be people getting rich from that.

I've seen alot of analysis lately that the rate at which BTC is growing, it's going to burst and there would be a massive price correction.
Don't believe every analysis you find, especially if it uses the words "BTC" and "burst".
People have been talking about the same "bubble nonsense" for months, they keep waiting for a possible burst but at the end nothing happens.
A correction in the price is already ongoing, over the last 24h the price went down by almost 10%, and that's not a "burst", it is nothing more than a healthy pullback in the price.

Of course he shouldn't just believe any analysis he can find, but at least it's better than blindly buying Bitcoins, like the vast majority of the Bitcoin holders does/has done.

-=-=-=-

Maybe it doesn't even burst... No one knows. It could just as well explode, leak its air (value) out slowly, making it shrink to $0 slowly, keep bouncing from low to high & from high to low, or it could become a "Collector's item".

The best possibility would be that Bitcoin gets some upgrades that make it a good currency for daily usage by everyone in the world. The current network is crap and can't support anything near that. We gotta upgrade it. The inefficiency of PoW is another story...

50  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage on: December 08, 2017, 09:04:37 AM
So I see a lot of price discrepancies as I look at coins. I was wondering if arbitrage is effective and what coins to look for that offer the best results. For example, I bought a bunch of BTG for $74 and then later sold it when it hit bittrex for more than $300. Also, is this even legal?

As others have stated, it's legal and it could be risky, depending on what you're trying to do.

Yesterday, there was an awesome opportunity with SBD/Steem. SBD rose from $2 or $3 to $12.40... That's great on its own already, but what if you add in arbitrage?
Sell SBD for a high price, buy STEEM with the money you obtained, turn it into SBD and you just multiplied your SBD. Did this a couple times yesterday and it turned my 7 SBD into 18 SBD, on top of its growth from $2 to $12.40.

That's the power of arbitrage and the largest risk there is to it, is the failure of exchanges to deliver a good withdrawal/deposit service.

53  Economy / Services / Re: LoyceV Legendary Campaign Manager | PORTFOLIO | Available for Campaign to Manage on: December 06, 2017, 10:06:29 PM
LoyceV is a great campaign manager. Probably the best one I've experienced yet. Shocked
He keeps spam out and actively filters out the bad posts, instead of randomizing that, like some managers tend to do.

Sadly, the campaign was cancelled pretty quickly after I was accepted, but he told us quickly and promised to pay us for the posts we made till then.

Keep going like this!  Wink
54  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hi friends. I need advice.... on: December 06, 2017, 06:45:32 PM
Maybe is just better ask...

Why are you investing in litecoin?

LTC has a great future. Bitcoin has the largest market cap, is accepted in the most stores and for many people it's the only cryptocurrency they know... That's true!

But did you know that Litecoin is:
-Much faster
-Much cheaper
-Much cooler
-Much more active
-Much more capable of growing their value 1000x
-Much more accepted than most other cryptocurrencies (and hopefully Bitcoin soon too)

That's why he (& you) should be investing in Litecoin.

-=-=-=-=-
To OP: It's really just your decision. Contrary to what others have said before, not everyone here is recommending you to invest in Bitcoin. I feel like there are far better cryptocurrencies out there and you should check them out, instead of sticking to Bitcoin. Litecoin is one them, as you've probably noticed in my reply above  Tongue

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Altcoins apart from IOTA? on: December 06, 2017, 04:12:58 PM
Hi People,

Which is the best Altcoins for investment apart from IOTA.
Guidance and suggestions are welcome.

Litecoin. Let me explain why;

-It's much faster than Bitcoin
-It's cheaper than Bitcoin
-It has a better name than Bitcoin
-It has more growth potential than Bitcoin

There are other coins that comply with the above, but Litecoin is becoming more and more accepted.

Litecoin isn't Bitcoin's silver either. Rather see it like this:
Litecoin is a living top predator, like the jaguar.
Bitcoin is the dead fossile, like the velociraptor.

That's how I see it.
56  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you safely trade with strangers on bitcointalk or discord? on: December 06, 2017, 04:02:36 PM
If you want to trade unlisted coins, what is the best procedure to do so? Is there any guide for that?

There's not really a guide required for that... Just do this:

1. Is the stranger on Bitcointalk/Discord trusted?
[Yes] -> Go to {2}
[No] -> Go to {3}
2. Ask him how it works and he should be able to guide you through it. For all safety, you could tell him you're recording it and if you say that, you should do it as well.
3. Contact a reliable escrow. (On this forum or something like Bitify)
4. Trade.

If you come across any problems, just specify what you need help on exactly. You can PM me with your problems too, if you want.

58  Other / Meta / Re: What's wrong with my post quality? on: December 04, 2017, 03:02:51 PM
Maybe this post doesn't belong here, but I couldn't find a better forum section for it anyway. One week ago my previous signature campaign Bonpay has finished. Everything was great with them for me, although some other members had troubles with their posts not considered to be constructive enough.
Since then I was applying to different campaigns (about 4 of them) and I was denied everywhere. I don't understand how my posts are worse, than the posts of those who were accepted. Am I missing something?
I would appreciate if you could take a look and tell me why am I regularly denied. Thanks!

First, I took a look at your post quality. To be honest, I wouldn't deny you, as your post quality is pretty good if you'd compare it to the regular Bitcointalk user.
But... You're limiting yourself to the altcoin discussion... Just like trading: DIVERSIFY!

Try diversification... Compare your posts to mine. What do you see? You post only in the alt-coin section.
Your post history is filled with "Altcoin". Although I can often be found in the Altcoin section as well, I check all sections of the forum for interesting new posts I can reply on.

That's our difference and probably the reason why you're constantly denied and I'm being let into any campaign I apply to.
Though I'm not sure why they're denying you for that, as there are so much worse posters on Bitcointalk... But I can't think of any other possible reason.

Update1: You're on SMAS. Obviously, that's the reason you're denied from every campaign.
59  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make Smaller Trades on: December 04, 2017, 02:54:05 PM
So I usually get offers from people who know that I have bitcoin to sell them small amounts of bitcoin like 20 USD - 50 USD.

I want to know how to make such trades without high fees, because I don't know how can it be made profitable to sell such low amounts with high fees.
Any idea?

As far as I know, it's not possible to avoid such high fees, unless you:

-Buy&Sell higher amounts of Bitcoin.
-Switch to an altcoin that has very low transaction fees and a high potential... Maybe something like.. I don't know... Maybe... Litecoin?

Do what you'd like, but I really recommend considering the 2 above. Simply halting your service until the transaction fees have sunken, might be a good alternative too.
60  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha? on: December 03, 2017, 07:28:11 PM
I feel like it's a great system. It keeps the bots away from easily mass-spamming us.
reCaptcha can be solved easily & quickly. Although it sometimes says correct answers are incorrect, if you use your brain, you should be able solve them correctly most of the time.

I saw that some people say that it's very buggy whilst using terrible internet, but I feel like there's more wrong then, as I come across horrible internet all the time, in restaurants, on vacation, etc... And until now it has always worked well.

Of course, it would be nice if it was possible to choose an alternative that works well for everyone and I'm completely in for that, unless it has disadvantages for people that are currently not experiencing any negative side effects from the reCaptcha.
