42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox to open trading in competition with churches around the world... on: June 26, 2011, 01:50:51 PM

Come on, Mt. Gox -- show a little respect for America's religious sensibilities!

yes, please don't open on any even days either or don't do business ever for 10 minutes on either side of the 3rd hours, my magically dust bunny wants me to go outside and bury chopsticks and do a dance at those times. its only right.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh crap. I was afraid of this. on: June 26, 2011, 06:27:22 AM
No one is going to drown because they can't manage to escape the rising tides.

Really? no one?
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox to open trading in competition with churches around the world... on: June 26, 2011, 05:59:53 AM
No.

I'm just saying it's yet another way I've been GOXED in the last week.
"GOX 10: The Final Goxing"

I was here for all the false openings, and now I'll miss the real one.

I just wanted to note it publicly -- no one else seems to have noticed yet.

Like I said, I have a solution that will cover things most of the way. I was just hoping to be part of the "excitement", that's all.

dont worry, i'm sure god will toss in an extra couple crowns or virgins or something after your dead to thank you for your sacrifice. see, in the long run you're the lucky one! then again, if satoshi/bitcoin really is the second coming then maybe god will be pissed that you went off to sing songs when you could have been spending time in the presence of the almighty..
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found a way to short BTC on: June 26, 2011, 05:46:21 AM
I'm not terribly bright.

this implies you consider yourself somewhere in the range of 100% dim right up to the edge of terribly bright, I'd think even you would be able to narrow the range down a bit more than that. maybe more honest would be, "I'm not at all bright".
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox to open trading in competition with churches around the world... on: June 26, 2011, 05:38:52 AM
Don't you have a smart phone? I would think god would understand, considering he gets his 10% cut and all..

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox and void trades: Force Majeure on: June 26, 2011, 03:21:06 AM

lol correct, suing and winning are two totally different things.  Well, first I'll give them a chance to give me my money back, but they've ignored every email so far.  Then I'm going to try a reversal through my bank and if that fails, I'll send a certified letter to their payment process in the US, if that fails, then I will sue.. and I bet I win too or at least get a judgement vs their payment processor in the US.  I've sued multiple times and been sued myself multiple times.  One time I flew all the way to alabama and lost the case in about 5 minutes.

I'd say that makes you more qualified than me in this field then. I've never sued anybody and wouldn't know if I've been sued, I've been in a constant state of travel since i was 18 and would not be able to be reached by anyone to tell me I'm being sued.. lol. i hope you are able to work it out the way that is most convenient/fair for all parties involved.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox and void trades: Force Majeure on: June 26, 2011, 03:06:55 AM
lol, in this country.. america.. one can sue anyone for any reason at any time.. u just need to convince a judge or jury
Someone once sued mcdonalds for their coffee being too hot.. lot of bored, out of work, lawyers in the US.

So if you really lost money with them i'd find the US entity they transact with and just call a lawyer up in their state and ask for a free consultation.
If you are smart you dont even need a lawyer really you can just do it all yourself and start filing subpoenas with the county clerk for 25$.  It's up to their lawyer to contest your subpoena.

Get a court date set, and subpoena everything you can.

Oh and by the way, I'm sure there were plenty of lawsuits about the flash crash in may.. yer a deluded if u dont think that.

RING RING

-Acme law office, how may i direct you call?

+I need to talk to a lawyer, immediately!

-Please hold.

*pause*

-Hello, how can i help you?

+hello, mr. lawyer man, i gave my internet points(which me and my friends sure do like a whole bunch) to somebody on the internet in a different country that i don't know and he held on to them for 5 days and then gave them back to me, so now I want to sue him. I'm really really smart, so i know i have a case, but i need somebody who knows about all that fancy law stuff to help me out, how about you do this for free and i'll pay you when we win?

*pause*

+hello? mr. lawyer? mr. lawyer, did you hang up on me?!?! I'm suing you!!

I bet you I can sue these guys.. wanna bet?

I bet you can sue them. I bet you can't win. I bet suing them is like making a bet considering if you lose the lawsuit you lose money and if you win the lawsuit you win money. There's your bet for you.

One more bet - I bet to win you would need lots of luck, since you don't have lots of logic.

The creation of this thread put a huge smile on bitcoinminers face.   Cheesy

Every reply makes the smile bigger.  Grin

If this is the last reply, the smile begins fading.   Sad

"MT Gox Hack"
"25,000 BTC Stolen"
"Buying Drugs"

This is how people see bitcoin right now

“Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution. If you don’t have any problems, you don’t get any seeds.”
- Norman Vincent Peale

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.”
- Winston Churchill

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

I would like to ask everyone - especially those in the SEPA zone who are getting screwed by them anyhow - to think twice about using Tradehill.

Their active pro-forum-clogging/spamming referral system is despicable, and simply banning one or two users here and there is not enough. They need to distance themselves from this crap and simply say: We're now 10% cheaper. Period.
Be competitive by service and quality, not by spam-avalanches and pestering people.

Also, wtf. Europeans get pretty much FREE WITHDRAWALS that arrive within 48 hours from MtGox(my experience), whereas there is nothing Tradehill supplies for EUR users at the moment that doesn't cost you more than the value you are trying to get out half the time..

For a wire withdrawal from tradehil "It's $45USD your bank may also add a fee" => my bank would add another 15 EUR on top, so around 65$ cost to withdraw anything from Tradehill vs $0 cost after the 0.03%ish processing fee for MtGox.

In other news, I tried logging in 30 minutes ago. The page has been loading ever since. It blanked out briefly now, and I am waiting to see my account page still. Maybe in another 30 minutes?

woops, you accidentally posted in the wrong thread. i don't see how people do this, it is always clear to me what thread i am posting in..
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MT Gox is up! on: June 25, 2011, 03:39:43 PM
If you have no money there and just want to look at the market, wait a little bit so the people who are going to set their asks/bids can get into the site.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price at Tradehill... not GOXED! on: June 25, 2011, 04:37:09 AM
tradehill is scam
mtgox same tradehill, after mtgox dei

i think we should just trust him. look at how insightful the rest of his posts are...  Cheesy lol

it is interesting to get some outside opinions(50ish posts so far) on the recent mt gox situation.

+1 to the btcers that showed up there to help some people see what happened/ is happening a little clearer.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protest against new moderation rules on: June 21, 2011, 04:18:32 PM
Guys, guys, guys, they are not merely locking/deleting stuff that is trolly, they are doing it to stuff that is relevant. they just stopped 3 discussions on the mt gox/kevin stuff for god sake. this truly is a shame. It is as simple as this - mods have friends, people pick on these friends, mods use their power to stop the discussion. if you don't know this, then you are not reading the forums enough to see it.

part of using this forum is that you have to accept that you are not looking at an accurate portrayal of the community, you are looking at a portrayal of how the mods think the community should be seen. i still read news articles, it is the same thing. some individuals opinions, not everyones.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: June 21, 2011, 04:07:16 PM
The rumor is that the guys over at www.bitcoinforums.net agree to not censor/delete posts or lock conversations. That would be what free speech is. not this "Say what we like and don't speak ill of our friends" free speech crap.
