Last but maybe most important of all, like any new idea and concept their will be a learning curve of pools profitability assessment, but as we will go forward pools makers will have their reputation play a crucial role. those who will put their efforts into it will gain many participants and those who won't do nothing soon will lose all credibility and will find it hard to enlist participants. As this whole platform is based on human connection and interaction those who will fail to provide this aspect will soon enough be out of the game. Pools will be available only in English and will be able to create your own pool representative of the various countries in their own language? Pools are all about the interaction in it of course one can speak whatever language he wants in it, if others will understand...that's depending on the pool's specific parameters when it is opened. |

Escrow issue was addressed before and I will repeat it There will be a respected escrow service by the time we launch!I would not invest in a project without one and so i do not expect others to do so We are currently in talks with several alternatives. eventually the ICO funds will go into a multi-sig wallet requiring probably 3 signatures in order to move funds. One will be held by the team and the remaining two will be held by impartial entities. When terms will be final a proper disclosed entrancement will be given. by the time we launch? there would be no point having an escrow because you are already going to launch which could just be a heart breaking lie. escrow should be the time where ico is running. That is what I meant, By the time the ICO is launched If you say so. who could they be? you set up an initial marketcap, if for instance you won't reach that 5 million USD, will the matchpool project still be pushed through that investors won't be requesting refund? it says: The initial market cap : $5.5 million. Calculated by $4.2m raised *1.33 (the 20m editional GUP Tokens) = 5.5 Hey man, Regarding the escrow it will probably be a respected law firm and another financial figure, all will have a one signatory right among multisig wallet of 3 Regarding the market cap we already stated that in order for Matchpool project to follow through we will use a minimum of 30K ETH in the crowdsale, above from that it is a GO, below all investors will get refunded yea? i'm no total pooper yet so lets see. i don't see this as a good investment though but will this matchpool hopefully compete facebook at some point? because if it could its going to be great. so the features like video calls, chats and so on are going to be available with matchpool? Any limits for number of participants at sig bounty campaign?
Still got no reply from anyone here. Pls answer. I don't think that there's a limit for number of participants. There is a bounty pool that will be shared among all participants which is determined by the number of stakes one gains. My personal knowledge of the ICO campaigns there is no limit to the participants in following the ICO campaigns like this, but with bitcoin payments that there is always a limit to participants who join the campaign with bitcoin payment .. Hey let me make things clear, apart from our Newsletter campaign all campaigns do not have a Cap and can get as much participants as the community desires, making stakes and bounties distributed accordingly |

Matchpool, I appreciate that you replied. Your proposal having some uniqueness may give it a chance -- arguably a long shot dependent on extraordinary marketing getting enough eligible women to sign up, but a chance perhaps.
If successful, you would be bringing in a lot of utter newbies who are not used to altcoin --> bitcoin --> fiat withdrawal. So you might want to see if you could get some online businesses to act as affiliates, directly accepting GUP. That would merely be another way of cashing out GUP for some newbies, while others would still go through the regular exchange-based conversion and withdrawal option. (Scotcoin, Pesobit, and a few other coins obtained affiliate online stores to a slight degree, in promotional offers or otherwise).
One last note:
I see the whitepaper mentions a crowdsale cap of $4.2 million USD, like up to 4500 Btc. While no doubt already not expecting the full cap, it can not be overstated how much less is probable. Especially in recent months, most ICOs on bitcointalk do not bring in more than just tens to hundreds of Btc, and even the latter may depend on a lot of advertising in advance. Darcrus was 300 Btc on its 2nd attempt. VIDZ was under 100 Btc. Et cetera. Many were much less.
But good luck. I'll probably donate a little when the ICO starts, as I like to gamble just in case.
Thanks for your kind words man, I want to respond regarding two things. You are right that most of our future users probably wont have a lot of understanding in the Crypto->Fiat process, but that is absolutely OK, we don't expect them to! Traders will trade the coin on exchanges and users will use it in order to take part in what the platform has to offer them, different from traders this will not be on their mind. To complete the picture our app is supposed to have an implemented option to purchase GUP by using exchanges API straight from your GUP wallet on the Matchpool App. Regarding the WP, you probably read an old version as we changed it and gave an exact range of CAP in case all GUP were to be sold. as the ICO planned to be held at first with ETH and base on the early bird bonuses the total amount ranges between 426K ETH - 600K ETH which is give or take around 4.2-6 Million USD. Actually we do believe we will sell all GUPs in the ICO but in case we don't we put a minimum cap of 30K ETH that if no reached all pledges will be sent back to the investing addresses. We will be very happy to see you among our investors as you clearly took the time to understand what is it we are trying to achieve here, and did your homework  |

A lot of questions have been raised about Matchpool's functionality, we drafted some of them, please read and share your thoughts with me What stops people from spamming the network in search of people who may accept matches (no penalty for number of proposals created)?So there are three ways we will deal with this attack vector. A) Sock puppet accounts are difficult on Matchpool because we intend to associate accounts with the user's identity. First of all by using Facebook or other social networks to sign up, and in the long term integrating a decentralized identity protocol like uPort. B) Many business models involve the two "matchees" paying to create a match, and when a match is accepted, it is posted on the both participant's "notebook" which is a public record. This means it is highly unlikely that you will find other people who are willing pay out of their own pocket just so you can gain a certain number of matchpoints. There may be an attack vector if the potential reward from gaining matchpoints exceeds the cost to matchees for accepting the match- in which case the matcher could reimburse his co-conspirators while keeping the profit. In this case we could build a warning/notification when the pool host is setting the various rewards for different match categories, or we could make the cost to the matchees proportional to the reward the matcher would recieve so that attack vector would become impossible. C) It is up to pool hosts to set the rules about the kind of matches that are possible, including setting a price for matchees. They also have the ability to ban pool-members who are exploiting trust. If rewards are highest for matching new users, and someone hasn’t been matched in a long time, could you argue that they are harder to match/engage? Should longer term users not be just as high a priority as new users?The way I look at this is that there is a "bonus" for matching new users, but you will still be rewarded for matching long term existing users. There is not some constantly deteriorating rate the longer one is in the pool (although that would be an interesting experiment...). It's best to think of it in terms of the "normal rate" for existing members and a "bonus rate" for new members. It certainly doesn't mean that existing members are harder to engage, it just makes new members feel more welcome. If levels of relationship status carry varying incentives, who proposes the next step after the initial match? How to people know what the next step is?There is no next step necessarily. Match Categories are created by the pool host and are not necessarily part of a particular "workflow"- remember pools can be set up for many purposes besides just relationships. All that happens is that both matchees must agree to the match, which is then posted on their public notebook. For relationships, Matchpool will probably create a new dapplet backed by a different contract which creates a kind of narrative through steps in a relationship, but for the early version of Matchpool we will be using the Poolmaker dapplet which does not have such checks. 20% of tokens are held back for new user acquisition (divided amongst the first 250,000 users). How will you ensure that users only signup for one account and not take advantage of the new user reward to just “signup with new wallet addresses and sell GUP in the market”?See answer to Question 1A. People must associate their identity to recieve an incentive. Firstly by checking a Facebook profile and ensuring that it is at least 1 year old (to stop sock puppet sign ups). Secondly by integrating an identity service like uPort when it has reached maturity. Users on Matchpool can also have a testnet account with limited functionality without having to verify their identity. |

it does look like a good investment you wanna get into. but i'm still in doubt about not having an escrow. so should the rest of the people here. we've all seen all these happen for more than once. its always tempting like ebitz scam which had scammed users.
This is actually a great point. A lot have happened since we announced Matchpool project two weeks ago and as you can probably understand we are more focused on doing and executing our vision and sometimes forget to inform you on whats happening....my apologies for that on behalf of our entire team.
