This is a bad idea to pay people for joining in the slack. There must register only those who want to really help the project or to discuss various problems are associated with the project. People join but do not carry any good, only a waste of coins for the devs.

its only now that i realized the ico will start on march and they mean two months later yet they are now promoting it. dev team must really make this quite a long wait for the investors. never have i read about escrow still on the first page. have they posted it somewhere already?

Agree, it is a really bad idea, it breeds share of empty accounts, people just register and will not take any part in community life.

Perhaps the goal is to let everyone learn about matchpool so its its Russian, its only targeted to Russian community whereas Matchpool wants to grab the attention of the people in the international community including those from Europe, US and to all where English is understood.
