It's legit. I've been using them for roughly two years, and I have done trades of over $10,000 through them. Their fees are a tad high, but their customer service is excellent Smiley

This would be taking action against a problem who is only a problem due to how to network currently operates. If you remove SDice from operation, another company will take its place. We should be happy that SDice has made this flaw apparent and take action not against SDice, but at the source rather than the "cause".

As a side note, I think we should take advantage of the opportunity to liquidate at a high USD price while it presents itself later this month after ASIC shares pay out. By my math, we'll have around 1200BTC a month gained from these shares (at the current difficulty), and then selling them at 1BTC a share (I'd imagine they'll rise to this amount after they start paying out their dividends) would basically net us the remaining funds owed, and then anything else we recover can be used to be paid as "profit" to the shareholders.

Optionally, I think it would be reasonable to allow people to deduct what the fund owes them in exchange for shares being transferred. In that manner, both sides get what they want Smiley

It may be silly to be looking at this from USD standards, but I think it is fully realistic to take the possibility that the price could crash into account with the current market depth: http://bitcoin-analytics.com/

It's not Ludvig's job to worry about that, but, personally, I'd be happy with getting the money out Smiley If the depth increases, I won't worry about it.

I would prefer not to purchase any more shares
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Value of BTC (likely to drop soon?) on: March 05, 2013, 08:38:52 PM
The thing that makes me most nervous is the sudden crash of BTC in 2011 from $30 down to $2. I expect this to happen again very soon...well maybe not down to $2 but perhaps lose half its value.
Heard that there are ASICs starting up now, so theoretically, wouldn't that flood the market with BTC and drive down the value?  At any rate I expect the month of March to be a crazy emotional rollercoaster Smiley

It depends if the owners of those ASICs choose to sell all of the BTC that they make at once. I'm not sure we'd see a drop down to $2 anymore. If BTC were to fall by half, I'd imagine there is enough confidence in BTC that it'll be bought up.

I would prefer not to hold anything for nine months, especially when its value is so high. With the recent uptick in BTC price, I would be for their sale if that is agreed upon.

While I would like to divide the shares, I think it's too much work which will go in to it and I know that several investors. Invested in the fund as they didn't want to deal with exchanges and assets themself,
Hence I think it's best if we do as we have previously done and sell the shares and payout the bitcoins made.
Then each person can decide what to do with this payment, if you think ASICMINER is a good investment, then you can buy the shares on BitFunder Smiley
I am thinking of putting up all the shares at 0.7 BTC,
What do you guys think?
This will enable me to pay out about 50% more of the total fund amount, which will bring us up to 70%.

What amount of BTC is the fund getting from ASICMINER shares monthly?

Update: My 1.15BTC was just credited to my account.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Question: How to withdraw BTC from Ripple Wallet? on: March 04, 2013, 08:08:07 PM
I think that was indeed the step I was missing. Thank you for your help Smiley

Be careful, I send 2.5 BTC a while ago and I'm still waiting... No response from bitstamp.net support.  Huh

Yeah, sadly I'm also waiting on 1.15BTC from them.

One cuestion, do you have sent the BTC with the option "Send using Ripple web client" or without it? Thanks.

I sent it using the Ripple client by using the address found here: https://www.bitstamp.net/account/deposit/ripple/

I've figured out how to trade Ripples for BTC, but I cannot seem to figure out how to withdraw the BTC from that wallet. If anyone knows how, could you please point me to instructions on doing so?
53  Economy / Securities / Re: [Investment fund] Gamma Bitcoin Fund [Closing] on: March 04, 2013, 05:41:22 PM
I'm mixed about whether we should hold them or sell them. Selling them at .7 would get us roughly 50% of the fund's value back, but I would need to see what the shares are paying out to know mathematically which is a better idea. I trust Ludvig to make the decision.

I'm not too sure I want to be in possession of my shares either. There was a reason I chose to invest in Gamma Bitcoin Fund over directly investing in the GLBSE.

Enjoy your vacation.  Let us know how much BTC you got from ASICMINER when you get the chance.

My question exactly Smiley He has 4600+ for Gamma Fund I think, so that should be 108+ BTC.
I am currently on a open free Wifi and I am not on my normal desktop.
So I can't check the wallet at this moment Tongue
I will update you guys once I get back on Sunday, but it should be 100 BTC+ Smiley
I think that with ASICMINER going so well it's possible that over time we might be able to payback 100% of the balances.

That would be amazing Shocked
57  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: US and Canadian users no longer allowed to use MtGox directly? on: February 27, 2013, 10:44:37 PM
I''ll probably continue converting BTC to Lindens and then cashing out with SL. I'm not sure how this will affect things :<

I just wanted to give this a quick review and state that I'm really enjoying my time in this. The community is excellent! The games are also a lot of fun when you win or know what you're doing (and if you don't, ask for a mentor!). I would suggest taking a few BTC in, because it makes your life easier, but it's awesome Smiley

Diddly fucking squat.  Great goddamn communication.

It's online again Smiley
