Nobody has an issue with this?

Fucking kidding me right? That's the logo of the "30yr old business" on a shed.

I leave for a few hours and you guys check Google Maps and freak out cause you don't see it.  If you spent a couple of extra minutes and looked around you would have found it.  It was very close to their mark, but Google Doesn't always provide the right coordinates, so you have to fine tune it.  They didn't do that, so it was off a little. It was just on the next street.  These are the correct coordinates: 51.865074,0.372607

To be fair, this is not the same photo of the building on the CMS website, which unfortunately is common practice for companies.

I had to say shipping in 30 days and then tell them the real deal via email or phone and see if they were ok with it. Paypal has to be done in two transactions if over 10k.  Works just fine for me.
43  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 07:29:44 PM
Also, I do NOT recommend anyone to buy their products. I am still not 100% sure, just sure enough to buy myself.  There is no harm in waiting till Monday, if they have any left by then. But then again, if it some crazy elaborate scam, then maybe that is why they released on a Friday, which is a terrible day release.

Sheeze, now I know how Copernicus felt.  I am just showing you some evidence that the Earth may not be the center of the solar system and you guys are going ballistic on me for it.  I am just presenting my findings and telling you what I am doing.  Its just data.  Take it and do with it what you like.  If it's not enough for you, then don't risk it.
44  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 07:23:42 PM
They gave us a phone number.  A couple international calls is all it'd take to resolve a lot of this.

The telephone number provided by "Crypto Technology System" lead to an automatic answering machine. Judging by the similarity with the telephone number provided by "Cambridge Microprocessor System Limited", it is reasonable to deduce that both entities are using the same service (which provides automatic answering machines with telephone numbers).

It was not an automated voice.  It was the voice of a real person.
45  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 07:17:29 PM
ok, people.  I never said I "talked" to Rebecca.  Just a few emails.  My brother (phoenix1969) too.

Also, if you people read the earlier posts you can see that I DID call BOTH numbers from both company websites.  Same secretaries voice on both voicemail systems.  (It was the middle of the night there) I think it is legit which I why I spent some coin.  Too many data points add up for it to be a scam. BUT the only way we will know for sure is when someone goes down to their offices on Monday.  This will put a rest to the speculation once and for all.

In the interested of full disclosure: No, I am not a scammer employee working for them.  They did however send me a discount code for my validation efforts.  That was very kind of them.   I am sure some of you will figure out a way to turn this around and say "See, I told you so".  Well, go ahead, I have nothing to hide. My brother and I both live in Hawaii and I have never been to the UK.

Also, yes, I did sell my KNC units the day before CTS Miner announced their products.  No, I do NOT know that was going to happen.  Yes, I also thought it was a scam at first too.  BUT, then I actually did some homework and connected enough data points for me to believe they are legit. I did this BEFORE starting to bash them publicly for being a scam. Once I thought they were legit, I purchased two of their 5TH units (so far) because the numbers are just too good to pass up. 5TH for 1100 watts is industry leading efficiency.  THEN, I posted my validation findings and will continue to do so, whether it points to them being a scam or a legit company.

Some of you are so vested in this being a scam, that you refuse to change your mind no matter where the evidence leads.  I also acknowledge, that now since I spent some BTC, I am now vested in this being legit as well.  BUT I am still not closing by mind to either possibility.  All evidence must be reviewed and analyzed.

UK.Gov seems to think they existed for quite some time... you have proof otherwise?

https://i.imgur.com/fzSG1YM.png

Or you guys too busy whacking off to Rebecca's pic to investigate, and would rather just troll?

We all predicted the "unknown" asic companies secretly developing...and here they are... now you chastise the secret development, when it's a key component to any high tech business, and when it unfolded just as predicted?

ABOUT US

Crypto Technology Systems, the team behind the CTS Miner, have been established in the microprocessor industry since 1975. CTS are an elite group formed internally from a world-class microprocessor engineering company at the forefront of Embedded controller design and manufacture, supplying products for a wide range of applications including Aircraft Testing, Remote Switchgear Operation, Stock Control, Instrumentation, Oil and Petrochemical Exploration, Marine Science and Environmental Control.

We have been following the cryptocurrency industry, and particularly Bitcoin mining, for the past year and a half. In May 2013, a team was put together to work on producing Bitcoin mining ASIC chips to be used in miners. Our small management team have had the backing of 50 full time microprocessor designers and engineers here in the UK. Over the past 8 months, we have worked tirelessly to build a group of products which outperform all competitors that will be available at a price which is un-matchable.

The "Crypto Technology System" is not a subsidiary of "Cambridge Microprocessor System Limited". They are completely different entities. The first entity is fake and unregistered, while the later entity is real and registered. The people operating the first entity is misrepresenting the later entity. They are providing false information to instigate a false sense of confidence among potential customers victims.

A research using domaintools.com Internet page shows the domain ctsminer.com was redirect from the IP address 185.8.106.66 to the IP address 199.188.201.252. In accordance with the above evidence, the Internet Page was host in the IP address 185.8.106.66 from 13rd January 2014 to 17th January 2014.  An examination of the IP address 185.8.106.66 reveals some interesting results, such as:

https://www.virustotal.com/en/ip-address/185.8.106.66/information/

The WHOIS record on 19th January 2014 for the domain butterflyiab.com matches exactly with the WHOIS record on 12th January 2014 for the domain ctsminers.com:

That means it is very likely the same person operating the domain ctsminers.com is also responsible for the domain butterflyiab.com. Both domains were first directed to a hosting service located in Lithuania. One domain is being used to perpetrate a fraudulent scheme and the other was registered to prey on people which misspell the official domain from Butterfly Labs.

IT does not mean that the same person is operating both domains.  It just means they used the same domain registration obfuscation service.  Corporations do that in order to not give their competitors and clue as to what they are doing.  I performed some ns lookups and IP geolocations:

ctsminer.com resolves to 199.188.201.252 -> United States -> Los Angeles -> Namecheap
cms.uk.com resolves to 94.136.40.103 -> United Kingdom -> Derby -> Webfusion Internet Solutions
butterflylabs.com resolves to 141.101.123.48 -> United Kingdom -> London -> Cloudflare Cdn Network

The fact that ctsminer.com & cms.uk.com are not hosted on the same server or even the same network is a little disconcerting,  I must admit.  But clearly nothing to do with butterfly labs.

I also checked the wayback machine Internet archive and the website has been designing and manufacturing MICROPROCESSOR system for many years.  This can't be a scam.

https://web.archive.org/web/19990208012249/http://www.cms.uk.com/

The data points are really starting to add up to them being legit.  Hopefully, someone at the company will be working this weekend to give us more information that we can verify and paint a complete picture.  I think they just didn't realize how many people have been burned and are very wary about new companies with amazing products popping up overnight.

Although I can't find any social profiles for any of them, it isn't all that unlikely.  I also have ZERO social profiles a well.  I never used one and never will, because I know what Google, Facebook and the like do with your data. It's sickening.  If people actually read their terms and conditions and understood it, they would never signup.  Most people just don't understand "implied consent" or any other legal terms.  Social networking is a big sham.   Every piece of data you give them they use against you and profit heavily from it. They make thousands of dollars every year from each of your profiles (data that YOU give them)  and have their way with it over and over again.

That's right Rebecca.  Not to worry.  As more people do actual research rather than balking, they too will see that you are legit and sales will take 15 minutes rather than 24 hours to sell out 2,000 units.  I am sure some of the users on this forum work for other mining hardware companies too.  The other companies are probably freaking out right now, since your machine specs and efficiency specs are amazing and you actually posted a shipping date rather than "Q1/Q2" like some other company we all know.  I mean really.  Sometimes between Jan 1st & June 30th, was the best timeframe knc could come up with?  That is totally ridiculous.
49  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 09:10:02 AM
Id XXXXX Rebecca Saunders throat
Who wants to join me in plugging the remaining 2 holes?

Being vulgar will not make you right.  It just makes you look like a jerk.  I can never figure out why some people think that when they are online they can be like that.  Really nasty.
50  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 08:58:59 AM
The only thing that worries me is that I can't found any of those people anywhere.  However, if their company is a government contractor, it would make sense that they were not allowed to have social networking profiles.

Remember what Ms. Saunder's said in her email to me:
______________
We are trying to keep this very separate due to the work we do trading as CMS (Cambridge Microprocessor Systems Ltd.) with the UK government.
______________

Rebecca Saunder's email seems like she is a real person and I think they will flesh out to be legit in the end.  I bought two units, because I did enough research to make me believe that they are real.  I admit, it's a risk and they could have done a better job with some proof of product. But they already sold half of their inventory in less than a day, regardless, which is amazing.
51  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 07:09:55 AM
Exactly, AND it isn't something that could be pulled off without resources from a company like Cambridge Microprocessor Systems Ltd.

AND of course they kept their work secret.  DUH!
52  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 25, 2014, 07:01:43 AM
I received this email from Rebecca:
________________________________________
Sorry you’ll have to excuse the short email.
Currently out of the office (20:25 here in the UK and been allowed to go home!)
My manager Michael might still be there answering emails if you want to call +44 1371 606056?

Our company is registered as Cambridge Microprocessor Systems Ltd.
We are a subsidy of the main microprocessor manufacturing company setup specifically for Bitcoin products.

We operate from the same offices and factory in Essex - We are trying to keep this very separate due to the work we do trading as CMS (Cambridge Microprocessor Systems Ltd.) with the UK government.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

Rebecca

So, I went to: https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-a-company

and did a search for: Cambridge Microprocessor Systems Limited

I confirmed the company existed for as long as they say in their press release.

Date of Incorporation: 11/04/1983

I also did a whois lookup on their domain: cms.uk.com  (domain 1st registered in 1998)

Both companies are in the same building and their phone numbers are only 1 digit off. I called both numbers and voice is the same on both messages.  So far, it looks legit boys.
53  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Sale: KnC Neptune 3 TH, 1st Batch, Pre-order [SOLD] on: January 25, 2014, 04:19:11 AM
Both Neptunes sold in about a minute on ebay. Thank you.

Do you mind sharing the price you sold them for?
Also how do you handle the trust issue?
How do you make the buyer trust you that you will ship the miners after you receive them?

Thank you.

$16,500 and I think I was too low.  I didn't do an auction.  Just buy now button.

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 24, 2014, 07:52:59 PM
oh, so we can sell the machines for them, but we're not allowed to profit?  hahaha good luck with that

I wonder if this is something in north european culture that we are missing? In US "speculation" or "profit" is not considered unfair or something bad.
I don't see Kurts comments saying what you are talking about... link please?

knc and others are selling pre-orders.  Selling an order of their pre-order is almost the same thing.  In both cases, neither party has the product in hand.  There's no difference, except for the addition of another middle man.
56  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Sale: KnC Neptune 3 TH, 1st Batch, Pre-order on: January 23, 2014, 05:03:53 AM
Yes, that makes sense and I can do that.  But the price can't go below $14,000.  Also, if the shipping date goes past a mutually specified date, then you can call the whole deal off too.
57  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Sale: KnC Neptune 3 TH, 1st Batch, Pre-order on: January 22, 2014, 05:20:35 PM
Are you willing to escrow and guarantee a delivery date?

I can guarantee that I can ship out the unit the day after it arrives at the very latest.  I can't guarantee KnC's delivery date, because they have not provided me with a guarantee.

Also, if KnC allows me, I will simply change the shipping address, to your address.
58  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Sale: KnC Neptune 3 TH, 1st Batch, Pre-order on: January 22, 2014, 01:30:13 AM
I am interested, but only if you are willing to escrow.  You don't have enough clout or feedback here to be trustworthy to hold the equivalent value of 20 of my BTC for several months.

But then if you are willing to escrow (and thus delay your receipt of the funds that you say you need), why are you selling?  I expect you won't be willing to escrow for this reason.

Yes, I will consider Escrow on one of the machines.  But the other is needed up front.  I need fiat...
59  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Sale: KnC Neptune 3 TH, 1st Batch, Pre-order on: January 21, 2014, 11:58:06 PM
I hate to do it, but I need some fiat cash.

..and a profit over a straight refund

....and hate to start a conspiracy on [Suspicious link removed]ince they are soooo rare, but if this is really phoenix's brother why wouldn't phoenix just say he is selling for his brother since people would believe that more than a newb account created with a name saying mauiflipper?

I'll leave it at that.. let's see how this goes  Roll Eyes

1.) Yes, I would rather have a profit than do a straight refund.
2.) Anyone can PM Phoenix1969 and double check, which is why I stated that he is my bro.
3.) I am not on the same island as my brother and I prefer to handle my own affairs.
4.) You are wise to question everything.

Ah crud, I just checked the Wayback machine.  They did say Q1/Q2: https://web.archive.org/web/20131212133634/https://www.kncminer.com/categories/miners

I updated my post. Thank you for the correction. (and shattering my dreams.... Just kidding)
