41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I centrally obtain information and trends of new blockchain projects? on: December 02, 2020, 01:50:19 PM
I found that most ICO websites have stopped updating
ICObench is still up and running, well updated too but one need to be careful with ICO rating websites, don't rely on any projects rating from the website, do your own research before choosing any project, even projects with poor rating on ICObench can do better than those projects that have 4.7 rating score on ICObench, use your brain
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: assistance finding a wallet on: December 02, 2020, 01:47:12 PM
Hello folks.

I hold the following cryptos: bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, cardano, ripple, iota and stellar. I haven't bought or sold in almost 3 years; just holding on to what I have.

Anyway, I'm a linux user and have 7 different pieces of software for managing those 7 coins. I very much want to simplify things.

I don't mind having separate software for bitcoin, but is there a linux desktop wallet that supports most/all of the other coins?

Thanks.
Have you tried finding through online sources? There are many crypto wallets that supports Linux today, some are fully open source and some are closed source, what's more important is keeping your private keys in a safe location, here are few that I'm sure are available on Linux OS

1. Armory ( open source) bitcoin wallet with multi-signature support
2. Copay
3. Electrum
4. Infinity wallet (this wallet supports many altcoins including bitcoin and it's available on Linux
5. Exodus wallet ( another multi wallet that supports many coins)
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is POW algo abandoned? on: December 01, 2020, 01:07:24 PM
Proof of work algorithm are fading away because almost all new projects today are going for POS instead and I don't see how this is bad because POS just do things better and easier, also devs on nowadays prefers tokens (ERC20) more than stand alone blockchain because it's just take few buttons to built, I'm not sure OP will find any good new altcoins to mine
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges to list new token on: December 01, 2020, 01:02:56 PM
Most of the exchanges charging listing fees, but you can list in DEX exchanges https://etherdelta.com and https://forkdelta.app/ and also can add in Uniswap and other DEX exchanges like Uniswap, but you need to add liquidity to add your token.

Almost all centralized exchangers charge a listing fee depending on the size of the exchanger. DEX Exchanger does not seem to charge fees for listing, only provides data about smart contracts or others and can be traded immediately when all the information is complete
Yes you are right and this is what makes DEX exchanges a scammers den, there is no investigations been carried out on the tokens, no some kind of AML/KYC, nothing, this is why many fake tokens exists on DEXs only, until this day I still prefer centralized exchanges over DEX
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal blocked a member's account due to cryptocurrency trading on: November 30, 2020, 02:38:10 PM
A trader with the nickname Thecooldoc reported on Reddit that his account in the PayPal account was permanently blocked. "PayPal permanently banned my account due to CryptoCurrency buy/sells being treated as "item SALES":
I wonder what is the real purpose of paypal to allow their users to trade bitcoin and then ban users because they are trading with them. If they can introduce new investors it is well and good but if they are dealing with the investors like this, then there is no point in trading with them.

I think the reason for banning the account should be the source of the amount and we will only know about the broader picture when we hear from both teams.
How many users have PayPal banned because this is the only one I heard about so far, I'm guessing the guy did something wrong, maybe try to cheat the system one way or the other? I still find it to believe that PayPal have zero reason for banning the trader, think about it, what good will banning accounts bring to PayPal company?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal blocked a member's account due to cryptocurrency trading on: November 30, 2020, 02:36:15 PM
PayPal payment system is a bad place to store cryptocurrency, and even more so you don't need to use PayPal for day trading.  There are large crypto-exchanges or DEXs for trading, as well as many ways to safely store cryptocurrencies in a cold wallet.
We have great exchange out in the market so I don’t know why but I can’t see any special offer coming from Paypal aside from their popularity and of course aside from being a large company, nothing more.

If this case didn’t resolve then I suggest its better not to use Paypal for your crypto transactions if you don’t want to feel the same stress like this. Always have your hardwallet where you have control, I wish to see more update regarding this one and hope that there’s still a chance to resolve if the account is not guilty for any anomaly.
What special offer are you talking about? So because PayPal implement crypto payment you expect them to start giving up some crypto discount? I'm happy that PayPal implement crypto because it's one of few reasons why crypto market is better today, PayPal implementing crypto will brings nothing but more exposure to crypto
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty rewards on: November 30, 2020, 02:30:56 PM
Since bounty hunters are being blamed for the projects price drop,
Why not ask the projects owner to pay the bounty reward in BTC or whatever the investors used to invest in their project?
They've promised their hunters a reward that has a total of $ value on their token/coin but they couldn't deliver it.
Wouldn't this kind of payment would solve both the investors and hunters problem?
The project price wouldn't dump after the reward has been given to the hunters and the hunters would get what has been promised to them.
I think the BM's could try and convince their clients for this kind of payment if they give it a try.
Since bounty hunters knew that new projects team are blaming them for price dump why are they still promoting bounties that are paying in tokens? If you know what the bad seeds are just remove them, instead of complaining find solutions and the most effective one I can think of right now is start promoting BTC or stable coin paying bounties.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How can one make effective use of the Excrow? on: November 29, 2020, 10:36:26 AM
Escrow guaranteed bounty payments but there are other things that makes escrow useless  like ..

1. The project team can still change smart contract if they want
2. The escrowed token can become pennies before hunters can sell on exchange.
3. Before bounty campaign ends the project can exit scam, making the token worthless and useless
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: November 29, 2020, 10:33:21 AM
I trust Ethereum more because it's true decentralized compared to many new DeFi projects nowadays, BNB is no doubt a very good altcoin but been centralized and useful only on binance exchange makes Ethereum have better winning tickets here, still I would recommend investing in both projects
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Been cheated again on: November 28, 2020, 01:41:37 PM
I can't say that OP is entirely wrong, although some part are wrong, there was a time where Olportal team allow some to change their wallet address from the old to new one but on a very limited time, I guess OP don't know about this or missed out already, now it's close, this is what olportal team did wrong, they should have just sent out all tokens to acquired addresses, the OLCF is still a ERC20 token, what difference does it make asking people to download the new wallet? They intended to carry out this operation to limit those that will get paid
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't venture into something you aren't completely sure about. on: November 28, 2020, 01:38:13 PM
If you aren't fully prepared for what's coming don't jump into mining, miners have been in bad shape since last bullrun in 2017 to early 2018 and many shut down their miners, just because it's profitable to mine right now doesn't mine things will remain the same for miners, another thing to be worried about is ETHASH Algorithm, this Algorithm is the most profitable but the best coins on this Algorithm ( ETC and ETH ) are changing to POS and other algo soon, meaning your gpu will be less profitable too, it's better to buy coins unless it's your hubby already.
Actually ETC is not going out of POW business anytime soon, infact they plan to upgrade their Ethash Algorithm that will become profitable and minable with low end graphic cards ( 4gig Variants ), I'm guessing they believe that if all the hash of Ethereum goes straight to ETC there will be more scarcity of ETC and probably affect the price too
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Undervalued Project that will suprised us in the Long Run on: November 27, 2020, 02:36:04 PM
So my paddy if you don't have SXP or bnb,  consider buying some on this dips cos they won't be this cheap for long.
You can also add cake and TWT tokens

Im a long time holder of bnb and I think, it's usage is really benefiting holder especially traders. Take note also some privilege of being a bnb holders to be able to join IEO, launchpool and many airdrops by simply holding it. Im still lookin gon sxp and tempted to buy when I see a good entry price for it.

Sxp is a nice platform no doubt Binance didn't think twice to acquire and developed it. If you noticed Binance has it back since they launched. So probably it will have some organic demand later on when they roll their product in much more area.
I don't think that BNB token is undervalued because among all other top exchanges tokens BNB is the most valuable token, no other comes close to 30$ per token, this is a very promising altcoin for long term hold, binance exchange is blessed with professional teams and they never stop bringing in new ideas, BNB will definitely grow higher in future but presently it isn't undervalued
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop wishing Ethereum dead or overthrown on: November 27, 2020, 02:32:54 PM
Lately I've seen too many posts in this section talking about an Ethereum killer ( Avalanche, Polkadot, Chainlink etc)and I will like to drop some points about this.

There is one thing I like about the whole crypto idea, the power have been given to the public, people are the ones to still decide where to invest their money, the most popular smart contract project is Ethereum and it's the founding father of smart contract too, if another project is going to kill Ethereum all developers that like using ERC20 smart contract will stop supporting Ethereum and even almost all eth lovers will stop buying ETH and move their funds into the new project, well to me it's never going to happen.

Ethereum supporters are over millions in numbers and people who wants Ethereum to get killed are just few in numbers, NEO,Stellar, EOS are old smart contract projects too but never wished Ethereum dead, they co-exists with Ethereum instead, till this day they can't beat Ethereum, the power of Ethereum is from the community and people's support, Long Life to Ethereum
It's not surprising that some people are feeling this way, I'm guessing such people are angry that they missed buying Ethereum when its value was way lower and very affordable so all they can do is find a new Ethereum killer like they said, invest on the project and hold for a very long term hoping that one day it will bring same profit as Ethereum did today.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: November 26, 2020, 03:09:39 PM
When will this madness end?
Who is willing to pay such amounts for a transaction?

Ethereum and few top altcoins are going down fast, now is a good time to send out some Ethereum is you want cause the gas fee is going down as well, tracking with http://ethgas.watch you can see that price is almost back to normal, presently it's at 0.52$ , goodluck
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Ethereum dropped 15% in only 1 hour on: November 26, 2020, 03:07:12 PM
Ethereum got hit by a massive flash crash today, dropping almost 15% in an hour. We caught the dump during the live stream and analyze the reasons leading to the dump.
Are you watching the whole crypto market? The dump starts from Bitcoin that's why many altcoins are going down too, bitcoin dumped from 19480$ to 16900$, that's a big dump and now I can't figure out if this is a correction or the bull market is already over
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: We need more bubbalexs and Hhampuzs in this space on: November 25, 2020, 12:02:18 PM
We can't do anything to help upcoming bounty managers, it's on them to out in more effort and earn the community trust and increase their reputation in the process, the projects that new bounty managers introduced is what we bounty hunters will use to rate them, my advice to all new bounty managers either with newbie or jr member account is to put their reputations first before anything, doing so will give them the gut to turn down any bad projects
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shitcoins are complete shitcoins this time around on: November 25, 2020, 11:49:48 AM
Only high quality projects will bring investors good ROI this year, the present bullrun happens because of he bitcoin and other top altcoins potential usefulness, I fear that shitcoins won't revaluate at all and I'm one of those who have many altcoins in their wallet through Airdrops and bounties, it's sad that those shitcoins will forever be trapped in my wallet
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are centralized projects more reliable right now? on: November 24, 2020, 12:55:40 PM
It seems like there is no difference between decentralized and centralized projects anymore in crypto space, most especially those crappy DeFi projects that claim to have better features, telling investors that their funds are safe but they are all wrong, I started having a second though about DeFi projects when kucoin hack took place weeks back, many DeFi projects find it easy to switch their smart contract just like that, what is full decentralized in that?
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network - KYC is needed to use it! on: November 24, 2020, 12:49:55 PM
Why would this project ask KYC for mining? I have never heard of such since i entered crypto space, I don't believe that the team have something good in mind for this KYC requirement, it's suspicious and can't be trusted, this pi Network project have many bad comments on this forum I won't except something good out of it
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: November 23, 2020, 09:29:34 AM
ICO is the hope of many people  ICOs who can make a profit because there are rarely more who actually have a high selling value in the exchange. profit and that's definitely only 2-3 current projects like the ICO that was waiting for much big profit in 2017 which made investors get so much profit, but now it's far from what is made in the current project, it's really not sure there's a lot of loss and risk.
I know that some people will say ICO brings more profits to investors in 2017 but have we seen the performance of IEO launchpads when bullrun is ongoing? Because I believe that the bullrun of 2017 plays a part in success of ICO projects, isn't it the reason why bounty hunters made thousands of dollars in that year too?
