41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] Testnet Anon Wallet|Super POS|Super Fast|FUD Cleared|Halve Soon on: June 18, 2014, 02:24:33 PM
Don't cut the PoW. Stick to the original plan. So what if multipools control the supply. They control the hashrate. Its only fair. If anything, this still allows people to get a position in now who might otherwise be late to the game.

You don't need to cut PoW or cut the PoS rate. It would be greedy to do so. It would be as bad as DRK instamining then cutting the block reward. You don't want that kind of stench hanging around your coin trust me. the dev isn't here to cater to early adoptors screaming "cut the PoW". You are basically saying " I have a ton of Supercoin now, please cut the supply so my coins are worth more and I can get rich".

It doesn't work that way. If Supercoindev does cut PoW or lower the PoS rate, its an outright scam.

Supercoin is trading steady. good volume. It doesn't matter how many coins exist. The market will price the true value of Supercoin.

Reducing PoW immediately is unfair. What i felt was a good balance was stopping PoW after the next 3 block reward halving. (~25 days)
This means that PoW count will drop from 18.2 million to about 16 million. Not a huge drop but at least we won't suffer multipool dumps.
We could also drop PoS inflation also. Reducing PoS % rate will make super blocks feel even more special.
But it's really up to the dev. Also, 2 hard forks so close to each other isn't good. So it shouldn't be rushed.

Block reward halving happens in about 24 hours now.
So let's all first see how it goes after that shall we? Wink

Without Multipool dump, it's really good for Supercoin. but what i can say is that i run some Multipools, i know if mining Supercoin is profitable, even we reduce the block reward, we may need to suffer Another 20 days dump.

so best is cut the pow directly and turn the left pow coin to pos coin. it fair to everyone.

if you think this is unfair, tell me the reason?

This makes sense. Think about it, guys. When started the multipools their dump? At 1000? 1500? 2000?
If it is profitable for them to dump their coins at -say- 1500 with a reward of 512 coins per block, then they get the same profit from dumping their coins at 3000 with a reward of 256 coins per block and then they get the same profit at the price of 6000 with a block reward of 128 and so on... the price will most like rise above 6000 if we reach mintpal. but it will not be sustainable because of the continued dumping...

This may sound a little clumsy, I hope you get my point.

Edit: it is a least my point of view, that early investors should get the best profit because their risk was the biggest.

I personally would prefer a reduced POS - reward. I don't see any reason that would judge 100 or 50% . If yI hold a coin, I hold because of its potential. But if I'm not convinced of the coin, the POS - reward could be 1000% and I still would not hold.

Buyers pushing right back. Eating up those miner dumps!

SUPER is very under valued now. It's market cap is about 1/20 of that of XC, and 1/200 of that Darkcoin. These 3 coins have anon features in tests, none in the main network now (correct me if I am wrong - DRK has a main network "candidate" build).

SUPER may have anon feature in the real network in 2 weeks, not sure when XC will have. I think SUPER needs more promo, so people know this nice little hidden treasure there Smiley

You are right, the only thing that the other coins have that SUPER lacks is big promotion

supercoin has real things, not just illusions like many other coins. With promotion, it will be much higher.

shhhttt keep quiet, I'd like to accumulate some more Wink

Yep, wait for the next multipooldump - it's raining money!  Cheesy

How many days left for POW?    Huh

POW is over, dude.

- Initial block payout (512 coins/block) will be halved at 20 block-day.
- Starting from 256 coins/block, the block payout will be halved every 10 block-days.

Can you explain that, please? What in particular are block-days?

At PoW block 19200 we will see first halve 256
at PoW block  28800 (19200 + 9600) blocks later halve 128
at PoW block  38400 (28800+ 9600) blocks later halve 64
and so on ... when block rewards reaches 1-2 it'll be shut off and no more PoW coins generation.
Rest of coins will be made by PoS.

Thanks for your quick reply. Regarding the POS: Many coins will be stored on an exchange. Those will not get a POS reward. Did you consider this in your estimation of 50 million total coins?

Anyways - keep up the good work, I think the market will sooner or later reward this

edit: okay, it becomes clear from your post above. There are many coins from POS and we are already at 17,2 million coins.

what the heck does this paper have to do with anything? Seriously, if you have some information, release the dam thing now and stop being like China FFS. Come real, come original, but first come clean. Don't be like WC or any of the other DB coins. The only decision I have to make right now is if I dump at the 3's to climb another wagon or stick around for the fun. Seriously, this is the reverse of FUD and does you no good in your attempt to be legit.

all the info is on the OP with a couple of Screenshots , we have announced today that the white paper release will be FRI or SAT of this coming week and a new wallet update on TUESDAY , as we have never let the community down with ANY release we said was coming ( and theirs been 3) maybe you should just stop the FUD and wait until its due out.

Q

Listen Wanker, I never spill FUD, check the records. I am vested in this silly coin like the rest of the folks. I just want answer that are "solid", like I would during my shareholder meetings. I expect this coin to do well, but what I don't understand is why you folks are acting like the folks at WC. This seems a little off and don't act like you are all "high and mighty" with your pen and the minnows will follow. I can easily burn this coin down to 1K if I wanted.....

you have had your answer White paper will be released on FRI/SAT wallet update on TUEs take from that what you want, or leave when you want

That tells me nothing. No Whitepaper summary, wallet (which appears to be pretty simple QT) stuff. No real meat. I will continue to apply downward pressure. Beatings continue at the perl of the DEV...enjoy

I think we are all just looking for some reason this thing is tanking today...  I just dont get it.  Its a solid coin.  I think DEv are just trying to reassure the community.  my 2 cents

If you dont get it you are probably wrong in cryptoland... most of the complainers here sound as if they invested their last btc...

Well at least you guys all had a fair warning. This FBI stuff or whatever sounds even dumber than the coin but what I've been saying isn't FUD - it's 100% fact. No coin with a (nearly) 5% premine will ever be taken seriously for more than a week once it hits a big exchange. A premine of that size means it's a 100% scam, people. Smart people don't purchase such a thing and dumb people are poor. They say fools and their money are soon parted - this is just another example. Sell now while you can because the longer you wait the more you will lose. A few lines of CSS in the Qt wallet does not make this any less of a scam.

Still here? Still concerned about my coins? No, you can't buy them and I am not sorry - this is 100% fact. Entertain me!

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | - HARD FORK MANDATORY UPDATE - | POW phase started on: June 13, 2014, 09:31:14 PM
The long term prospects for the coin are incredibly strong.  Simply look at the wallet and know the amount work ALREADY done and KNOW they are working on more.

Yes - they modified the default design in Qt Designer - it's a commendable effort because it certainly looks better than the average wallet but it doesn't take a genius to essentially drag-and-drop and use CSS (it's all styled with CSS).

The long-term prospects for this coin are over - the short-term prospects are that the dev just unloaded about 100 BTC worth of premined SC today and will unload the rest of it before the week is over. This coin was dead the second it hit MintPal because everybody is here for the exact same reason: to sell as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, nobody has the ability to unload like the dev does. Like I mentioned earlier - go take a look at the Yellowcoin chart (max) on MintPal - SC will match up almost exactly with it. So if you want to know the best time to sell I urge you to use that chart as a guide. In fact, it's possible it's the same dev. This guy is making $100k/pop and moving on to the next sucker coin.

You are so extremely thoughtful / caring about the money of others... and of course you only wish the best for them... oh dear!

Okay - well I'm done here. Just remember that I tried to help you. Keep holding and see what happens. It's frustrating because it's so obvious and I really don't understand how these cons are continually executed. So many suckers. I hope you all learn from this in the end and stop allowing yourselves to be scammed. I'm sure I sound like an asshole right now but 2-3 weeks from now when you realize I was right and you're still holding on to a thread of hope and a heavy bag of "silkcoin" think of it like this: you learned a lesson for cheaper than it would have cost you to get a degree. No matter how much money you lose on Silkcoin, it will end up being a cheap lesson. Just make sure you learn from it - don't let the education go to waste and keep feeding these lazy con artists over and over. Education is the enemy of evil.

Just one thing...

guys, wait  pump SC for tomorrow on the mintpal
SC fly to the sky! as ATOMIC ROCKET!!!

An atomic rocket that will continue down further and further as the dev unloads the last of his premine (which currently represents 50% of the minted coins). Congrats on helping to line his pockets.

GET OUT NOW - even if your'e selling for a loss the price will never be higher than this. You wait - you lose. I promise.

Why is it that when I signed up with my account on http://honorcoin.co/2-free-distribution/ I get hacked shortly there after. I thought nothing of it until I created a new account and signed up again with the new account and within 3 minutes that account is hacked and I am logged off?

Which PW did you use on that site?

One different than my Bitcointalk one. But your saying if I used the same password as my Bitcointalk one I will get hacked?

If you would have told your Bitcointalk pw it wouldn't be a hack.

You should check your comp for malware. Good luck!

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | - HARD FORK MANDATORY UPDATE - | POW in 5 days on: June 07, 2014, 07:46:47 PM
Is the price dip expected after POW or during?

This coin has such a great team behind it, the potential is just huge.

New miners mean more exposure but the extra supply may cancel that out or overwhelm the market. The dev's bring new updates and features every week so It also depends what they announce during the next phase.

OK. But typically, does the extra supply saturate the market usually during the POW phase, or just right after?

If its normal miners they will probably hold , i have said it a million times , if you open the wallet , you know you better hold your coins as the price is low tbh,

Now multipools are a different matter, they may mine and dump as the price is good, we expect a certain amount of drop at this point , Our Chief Dev predicted this at launch and it was taken into consideration, but we felt the 2nd Pow phase would be unique and bring people to the wallet in droves having missed out initially, however due to community concerns we halved the block reward for 2nd pow .. this should at least limit some of the damage done by the multipools, but tbh if they want to sell me cheap coins they are welcome too

after all i HAVE opened the wallet and more fool them.

Well said  Smiley

I'm waiting for some more cheap coins as well!

On the Exchange Front...

The tension is building like two sides going to war.  On Poloniex there is a buy order for 246,043 Silk Coin... Someone does not want to take a chance on the price dropping during the 2nd PoW...

To be honest it is quite difficult to buy large amounts of Silk now.  If you wait for the second proof of work to get your coins you may miss out.  Very small purchases can move the market...  Less than 5BTC of Silk purchases on Bittrex would move the price to 2500 satoshi.  Wow!

This coin is headed to the moon!  Great developers, active marketing, and a great community.  Go look around the forums and compare...

Judge Crypto
I agree with judgecrypto, right now it's very difficult to buy large amounts of SilkCoin. That buy order has been up there for close to two days, and it hasn't moved much. In fact when it first popped onto the order book it was at 1500 Satoshis, the buyer has gotten impatient waiting for someone to sell and moved it up to 1800 Satoshis and it's still there.

With the amount of attention that we'll be getting at the start of the 2nd PoW phase, it will flood the market with new buyers and as judgecrypto mentioned that only 5 BTC is needed to get to 2500 Satoshis. The price will have a dramatic increase. There will be the inevitable dump of some coins from some miners and multipools, however by then I predict the market would've already have moved up to a new price level.

The qeustion for me is: How many coins will be dumped? When will the dev's decision about the blockreward in the second POW stage be announced? Any update for that?
The decision about the block reward, along with a few other major announcements will be posted during this week, at latest by Friday. We don't want to rush anything or launch anything prematurely.

Thank you. Friday will be sufficient I think.
Just to make things clear: I have a good bag of SCs and I see the potential of this coin. And I consider buying even more. That's why I'm asking.
