Bitfunder needs an WeExchange account if I'm correct, anyone has any experience with them?

Yes, I signed up about 6 months ago and done a few trades. It is run by Graet in Australia and Ukto in the United States. My experience so far has been good - faster bitcoins than MtGox (based in Australia).

Thanx for the info.

It's hard to decide with of the two (BitFunder and BTC-TC) is the best. BitFunder has lower trading fee and BTC-TC has more features and more users I think?

Honestly, without being biased, I personally think BTC-TC is great. I have mentioned before I even own a few shares of BTC-Global.  Grin
A lot of hard work has been put into it.

To maintain my persistent standing, BitFunder was created for the community and based on suggestions by community members.
Any features within reason will be considered, and most all have been implemented so far. What features are you thinking of?

All that aside, as for picking, I think it really boils down to people just thinking about what they want to DO with the site.
Some people day trade shares of assets, while others just invest and watch dividends come in.
Once you figure that out, you then have to see which one can better meet the requirements.

You can also try forgetting about what the sites CAN do, and make a list of what you want and expect them to do, and then compare that list to each.
If you do not see things that are on your list, be sure to ask each if they will plan to do them, or currently do.

I think having a choice of 2~5 options, is far better than everyone being stuck with the same one. Not just because of 'what might happen in the future', but because each site (I would expect) would have some fundamental differences of how things should work.

Remember, you are the one using the site. Everything should be easy to follow and understand. Some people like simplified easy to use interfaces, while others want to be able to do everything under the sun. If you feel that one confuses you more, try another, Smiley

Whatever you do, no matter which site you choose, do not forget that they are all supported by the community, and all of them need someone willing to make suggestions, and ask for features! No one promises to do them, but the idea is that if it is reasonable, they will make a best effort at it. Some have their own
reasons in why they do this or that too, and you may or may not agree.

I hope that helps in some way. Good luck!  Cheesy

I read this on the BitFunder thread:

Quote
Coming Soon:
Trade API + Proper documentation
Direct Trades
User Messaging
Voting System
Additional Graphs

So the features is coming, what I want most is an good API so that app makers for phones/tablets can start building great apps like the GLBSE app for android.

I have a question, what about Digital Signature, here in Bulgaria I can get one for 10-16 Euros, and I can sign electronic mails, documents etc. It is accepted by government, banks so on. This way I only have to sign a pdf or whatever and you know that it's me who is signing. No need for scanned IDs and affidavit for the pdf.

That way would be nice to have it done.

I'm searching for a law firm that does that... if not, then I have to print the paper... get it to the guy that signatures it and then take a photo of the document an then e-mail it to the gigamining lawyer.
45  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: December 09, 2012, 11:28:31 PM
For U.S. residents, an apostille is of course not necessary, and most people can get notarizing done for free or a very nominal fee.  [...] So I'm not sure whether Giga is in a position where he could do a buyback for those people who are looking at a big expense for apostille, since those are the people for whom OFAC regulations become an issue.

Wrong and wrong. An apostille + getting a notary look at you while you sign something costs quite a bit around here not because my home country is fighting the US or something but simply because we have a much higher GDP and standard of living than the US. Also to open a bank account (and getting a credit card on top of that with a few thousand EUR limit) I need less paperwork than to finally get my ~5-6 EUR worth of dividends off shares that I bought for ~40 EUR worth at that time.

As far as I understand it, all I owned all the time was a simple contract that was bought from giga (or someone else who bought it from giga) that guaranteed me that he'd be hashing Bitcoins and send me an amount that was specified in the contract in certain intervals. This is not much more than any renderfarm or provider of webservers does. I guess all the fear and "lawyering" stems from the fact that Bitcoin might in the future(?) considered some kind of money which would mean I bought a contract for getting money and not a simple service. Maybe something along the lines of buying a money printing press collectively...

However, I'd like to see proof that Bitcoin are actually money first and/or creating Bitcoin is an act of cerating money and not equivalent to rendering a frame of Big Buck Bunny or Elephant's Dream (just with different algorithms running) before I comply with these regulations prematurely. Actually anyone sending their info to this lawyer (if he even exists/is a lawyer!) might get into far bigger trouble should Bitcoin really be considered money and Bitcoin mining be considered an act of creating money.

yeah, it costs alot... take a look at this site here in sweden: http://www.notariuspublicus.se/prislista/

Intygande / Affidavit 500 kr
+
Apostille 325 kr
=
825 kr and is like $123.

I'm also developing a windows 8 app for Bitcoin. Functionality looks pretty good, but you might want to think about the design a bit. Make sure it scales well, and looks good on all types of devices. What language are you making it in?

I'm just trying out HTML/JavaScript and then maybe converting it to C++ later on.
The design part is allot to think about, I have made so it looks nice docked on the left or the right side as well.
Why are you converting it to C++? (I'm a C++ hater)
Yeah that works fine for the docked view, but the app is going to open in full view by default.
Do you have to enter in all the fields to make it calculate? I am going to be working on some code that automatically pulls to BTC price that maybe you can use.

I wrote taht I maybe converting it... as you can do more in C++ than in HTML/Javascript, but I don't need those features atm.
Yeah the full view got loads of space for ads =) I don't have any TODO list for that unused space right now.
The app pulls BTC price (MtGox) and diff (blockexplorer.com) from Internet when you click on Refresh. You only have to type your hash rate. But you can type in BTC price and diff if the refresh fails.
I'm thinking of using other currency's than dollar later on.
How are you pulling the BTC price from MtGox?

I'm parsing the data from https://mtgox.com/api/1/BTCUSD/ticker
I just need to make a delay so that the app can't get data more than one pull every 10 sec or MtGox will be angry =)
Makes sense. Yeah you better follow those API speed limits.

So what is your win8 app gonna do?

Hi, I'm trying to make an Bitcoin calculator app for Windows 8 like the one that NewDawnDev made for Android in 2011 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newdawndev.bitcoincalculator

I'm just posting here to see what the Bitcoin community thinks about a Windows 8 app version?

A screenshot when I just entered a Hash Rate and Refreshed the diff and exchange rate values.

This screenshot is when I just calculated how much BTC and $ I will get /day, /week and /month when the bitcoin reward was 50 BTC/Block.

This screenshot is when I just calculated how much BTC and $ I will get /day, /week and /month now that the bitcoin reward is 25 BTC/Block and with an example when the app is localized to Swedish.

If anyone want to support this development please send some bitcoins to: 16BungM43F773QcKQVy1FZ4Yn5mYSzcUWc
54  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 24, 2012, 09:22:34 AM
Most of the provisions don't sound too onerous, but notarization would likely cost a significant fraction of my investment.  It seems a bit like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer. I could see it as a possibly valuable CYA for investors with hundreds or thousands of shares, but for single-digit quantities? Unless something changes, it might almost be better to just eat the loss than go through the hassle.

What is the typical cost of notarization outside the USA?  The worst I've seen for "non-friend, non-negotiated" rates has been USD20, but if you ask around, chances are that you know a notary.

In most cities, you should be able to notarize a document for USD10 or so.

Just get a 3 year old kid notarize the document with an "X" and it's fine.

btw, I got two e-mails about that aswell.. the later e-mail has a little different text in it.

Nefario is supplying the asset info starting with the largest assets in descending order

So I guess Friedcat should get a userlist pretty soon

Okay it seems like we will do a payout Smiley
For anyone unhappy with this contact me and I am sure we can reach some sort of compromise.
To the rest a payout will be done today or tomorrow,
It will indeed be done by calculating each investors total % of the fund and then paying out a proportionate amount to the 430 BTC.
//DeaDTerra

Well, "today or tomorrow" came and went, and no sign of any repayment.

What's happening DeadTerra?
See my post above Smiley
MtGox limit of 200 BTC ^^
I need to wait 24 hours to get out the last 35 Bitcoins.
//DeaDTerra

hmm.. my limit is 2000 BTC but then I have an authenticator and yubikey.
59  Economy / Securities / Re: Should Gamma Fund pay out its remaining holdings to investors? on: November 14, 2012, 12:13:20 PM
Please only vote if you are a holder of Gamma Fund. Thanks!

(This is an informal poll, DT will be making the final decision but as of yet no criteria has been decided to determine when we are going to be paid and I am trying to move things along.)
I will honor the polls results,
If a majority of the investors wants me to pay out now, I will payout the liquidated amount proportionally.
//DeaDTerra

But it's not only investors that can vote here...
