I would say that my old gfx card (about 700 Mhash) that is a slow hardware generates more heat than a 5Ghash BFL ASIC. So Slow hardware = more heat Efficient hardware = less heat

I can login to bitfunder just fine. I just asked several others who could as well. US users are blocked from trading on BitFunder and BitFunder will continue to try it's best to make sure US users can not trade on BitFunder. WeExchange verification requests are still being looked at if and when there is time not being spent towards other important problems such as getting users their bitcoins. This is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed and resolved fully as soon as possible.

Interest payments down by over 50% in just the last 3 week That is correct. the average difficulty for September was 104,550,780 while this months average difficulty is going to be over 216,654,943 which is OVER a 100% increase. Seems that money printing devices have seen somewhere around $100m in investment come in the form of 100% pre-orders and that investment has made the difficulty jump 30% more or less each diff period. These are the risks along with manufacturer delay and BTC price. And the BTC price has gone up with over 30% the last week, so It's not so big loss if we get 50% less BTC from Giga-/Teramining. The BTC price will go up even more.

Is the "free" upgrade to Teramining automatical? Or do I have to do anything? If so, I don't find anything in the settings? Indeed, how do I go about upgrading? You have to pick your upgrade path, it is not automagical! Log into your account at https://virtualprocessingsolutions.com and pick the upgrade path you want. TERAMINING upgrades are 0.25BTC for 135mh/s, chips that produce twice this hashrate are selling for 1/5th of this price. I know they aren't assembled and ready to start hashing, but this price is too much. After all the reasons for doing things by the law, this is one thing that isn't law and giga can redeem himself with by giving something back to the investors who have put so much in
If I calculated correctly then one BFL 5 GH/s bitcoin miner will cost about 0.062 BTC for 135MH/s. Thats 4 times better price for the BFL miner than the Teramining upgrade.

To answer everyone's questions. I would not take all the profit if we end up getting back more then 100% (I highly doubt it). I would take the 5% originally agreed to. I am not looking to hold ASICMINER for a longer period of time, I am looking to sell them once I think the time is right. What are you guys attitude towards selling the shares? Would you like to see a sale, if so how many of the shares and at what price? As for the GIGAMINING claim, I have talked to James and I am looking to submit the claim sometime next week. //DeaDTerra

What can I safely delete? I highlighted in bold and color what I think can be deleted. Can someone confirm this?
You can safely delete those that you highlighted. As the new files is in the "blocks" directory. Easiest way for you to check is to close the bitcoin client, move those files to another directory and then start the client again and check if it starts downloading the blockchain again.

Well, now that Avalon apparently shipped, would you like to give an estimate on when we start hashing and how many TH/s are we looking at?
Considering the yield rate (including chips themselves, assembling, and other uncertainties) and the overclocking opportunity we are looking at over 10TH/s and under 12TH/s for the whole first batch and sixfold for the second. Normally, computer chip manufacturing facilities produce a “yield” of 95% – that is, less than 5% of the chips that come out of the foundry are imperfect in some way. For ASICMiner’s chip production, the company’s customer service representative reported, the number of failed chips is as high as 30%. In theory, all this means is that the manufacturer will need to make 43% more chips to compensate, but the abnormality hints at the possibility of other problems to come.
We have to make clear that that we have said was that our fab considers <1/3 failed rate as OK and they won't take responsibility, which is their bottom line. The reality is that our yield rate also >95%. The whole number of chips were less than what we expected was caused by the MLM typed process used for making our masks utilizes less area than a full mask. I'm beginning to be really curious as to what the hold up is. Proper way to do this is to plan ahead, and plan for errors also.
Has something come up? Why was hardware ordered after chips and boards arrived? Haven't any mechanical CAD or thermal analysis been done?

1. No surprising things has come up. The real hold up is that we are meeting the delay of the assembly service which is an automated process which is practically hard to "push". 2. Because we have made many adjustments on the heat solution during the last few weeks and negated many as improper ones for bulk-ordering. They are done in parallel with the first the (mass) packaging of chips and then the (mass) production of pcbs so this was not the part that wasted time. 3. Yes. But we ordered them after the physical tests are done. Framing is important, so let me ask it like this: Freidcat, would you please post an brief note on what the current status of the project is and when the next milestone worth announcing will happen? The current status is that in estimation we will be delayed by about 2 weeks in total compared to what we projected when the chips arrive. That is early Feb, before the CNY vacation comes. The next "real" milestone worth announcing is that we start hashing in our workshop, but before that we will also keep you updated. It was a perfect moment to start, but it seems there are no mining rigs ready yet.... Guess we have to wait till Friedcats update in a couple of hours to hear where they stand at the moment.....
No, not ready yet. Whenever they are ready we couldn't wait till a "regular" update time to announce it... We are sorry to shareholders that we are now >2-month delayed against the original plan. (Late Dec. against Late Oct. to get the chips, plus 4-5 weeks against 2-3 weeks to fully deploy). The status are resulted in by a mix of our optimistic projection, our conservative action and our un-developed relation in the electric manufacturing field.
