41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 07, 2014, 02:45:27 AM
HEY question to all

I am wanting to >>immersion cooling <<setup using
FC-3283  55 gal (750 lb)     $28.60/lb, $21,450.00 each

             3.25 gal (44 lb)       $31.60/lb, $1,390.40 each

             0.75 gal (11 lb)       $36.20/lb, $398.20 each

Novec HFE 7300    55 gal (600 lb)    $23.95/lb, $14,370.00 each

                            3.25 gal (33 lb)      $25.40/lb, $838.20 each

                                 1 gal (12 lb)      $28.25/lb, $339.00 each

going to using 1 of these fluids:

My question is does anybody see a issue in cooling them off this way.

plus side is
dead quite/ less power needed/ no fans needed  / and it does not matter how hot the room is >> save on a/c electric bill

negative cost of fluid
thanks

I'd recommend against doing this unless you are 100% sure what you're doing.

The fluids you are using can only be used for single phase cooling which is less than optimal. (Might as well just use mineral oil)

With single phase you miss out on the density, efficiency, and cooling capacity that you would get with 2 phase.

There are really no significant benefits for using single phase immersion cooling. You still need pumps/fans and it's even less efficient than air cooling (without an AC).

I agree, you'll be more efficient (regarding the amount of $ you wanna spend) if you build a wind tunnel.
42  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Quiet server cabinets on: August 07, 2014, 02:01:03 AM
Looks like a great product.  I love the sleek design.  Do you mind taking a picture of front exhaust?  I'm curious what it looks like.

I don't have interior pics just yet, but here is the model of the front door.  The interior is lined with sound absorbing foam.  Air enters the cabinet via the open bottom.

I believe that making the door the way you intake and out take the air is wrong (it seems good on professional product tough). It require to much work and precision to make it effective.
After thinking about it I plan to make my sound traps in the cabinet and I want to it to be removable and cleanable.
To me, the best is to make big hole and use this component to connect the sound trap with the interior and the exterior of the cabinet.

To make the soundtrap, I'm thinking about using plastic box with foam in side. To break the sound, polystyrene plate with foam stick on it. I may have 100% sound reduction Cheesy

What is the program did you use to make 3D model ?

EDIT : this is what i think of :
then all you have to worry is make sure that air does not go out or in from doors. The most of the noise will come from the air flow

take care of the setup needed to maintain full control of the gaz pressure. You don't want to leak any drop of your precious liquid...
44  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Low GTX 750 MHash/s rates what am I dong wrong? on: August 05, 2014, 12:45:45 PM
with an nvidia card you shall use CCminer and mine X11 currency !
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Gauging interest in server rack mining frames and quiet cabinets on: August 05, 2014, 12:49:12 AM
I'm working on this kind of cabinet too.
To have better performance with the noise reduction you could use foam for the wall and sound trap for the intake and outcoming air.
Below and example of a sound trap.

It has been a while since my last payment...... not trying to jump ahead of those that haven't received anything yet, just keeping my name in the mix. Hoping for something again soon.

I haven't forgot about you or anyone else.

indeed took some time but he finally replied my PM.

maybe it will took some time but I'll get back ALL of my BTC Smiley

new firmware update for SP10 !

Zvisha you are the Jedi of the bitcoin's manufacturer !

edit : +10 Gh/s with the last update and it seems that the consumption is lower ?
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 03, 2014, 04:41:24 PM
The SP30s will restart a lot for the first 24 hours or so after you plug in the PSUs. The purpose of this is to test the limits of what the PSUs can handle before they go into thermal shutdown. The SP30 brings the PSUs up to the limit of their performance, then over, and remembers the power level at which it exceeded its tolerances. During the next boot, it uses slightly more conservative settings until it never exceeds those tolerances. Personally, I think this is a pretty cool feature (although a little bit crazy). The SP30 basically overclocks itself automatically.

Disconnecting the PSU's power will reset the SP30s knowledge of the PSU's limit, and will cause this algorithm to start again. If you change the cooling conditions for your SP30, you should power cycle your PSUs so the SP30 learns its new limits.

Can't wait to test the low Iceland temperatures  Roll Eyes

lucky you =)
share with us your stats when it's running !

My SP30 is already visible at eligius:

Quote
256 seconds   5,115.93 Gh/s   304933
128 seconds   4,326.21 Gh/s   128931

can you show us your eligius stats (with the url)?

so 4500gh at 3000 watts

okay that is .666 watts a hash .

made in Israel. .666 watts a hash. coincidence?

Speechless! Really?!  Huh

It's not pulling 3000. It's pulling 2910. So it's 646.

"Number 646 is a compilation of the energies and vibrations of number 6 and number 4, with number 6 appearing repeated, amplifying its influences.  Number 6 lends its attributes of stability and grace, acquisition, healing, love of home and family, protection, care and nurturing, solution-finding and problem-solving, reliability and responsibility, integrity and honesty.  Number 6 also relates to the material aspects of life.  Number 4 resonates with truth and integrity, practicality, working steadily towards achieving goals and aspirations, system and order, self-initiation, building solid foundations and enthusiasm coupled with determination. Number 4 also relates to the energies of the Archangels."

57  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 25, 2014, 06:23:54 AM
...

They can't because they have been busting a gut waiting for any slight bit of sub-optimal news about SP so they could vent their bile built up from when they got burnt from previous bad buying decisions, or just because they missed out on the SP10 or SP30 and want to justify their decisions.

Without any solid information, they can't bitch forever. As everyone else I read : "lower hashrate than expected". That's all. How much ? 1% 10% 50%?
We don't know and as far as I understand, SP-T neither...
As usual, wait and see.
58  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 25, 2014, 05:12:50 AM
hmm, i've paid the high price for this top miner (5.4 th/s when i've ordered) to have it asap (early august). I wonder what will be the final hashrate...
I understand that's a pre-order and specs can slightly change. SP10 is a great product (1.5+ TH/S instead of 1.4). I'm sure that SP-T will compensate customer accordingly to the loss of hashrate for the SP30.

Waiting for more news from Guy !

To all the troll, we've been waiting for months for the SP30. can't you wait quietly for more few days ? grow up guyz !

Hi SP-Tech's team,

since you will have the chip on tuesday, any information about the estimate date of delivery for early august ? as well as the WA datacenter hosting opportunity for non group buying ? Smiley
(i think i'm not the first to ask this question, but .... TLDR  Grin)

Thx !
Early August will be delivered until around the first half of August :p

As there are around 500 units in early August batch, it will obviously take some time.

early august batch you mention above is that the group buy batch? or is that the 2nd aug batch...? or is the group buy on here august batch just mixed in with the
regular august ordrers for the whole month according to payment...wondering how that all works?

Searing

i'm talking about the better together with early august i've ordered in March.
