Need option for nothing.

Thanks!

Alright so heres the deal:
I've been trying to save up my BTC to buy a Canon T3i. Right now I'm up to .23BTC that I worked for. It took about 5 months to earn... yikes. The camera I want costs about .9BTC. So the obvious question is not asking for donations but rather how can I continue to earn Bitcoin? So lets break it down more:
I really rather not invest in altcoins, its just risky and again I cant necessarily build up to the amount I have right now very easily
NO PONZIS thats even worse then risking in an altcoin
I've been looking for little jobs to do for bitcoin but so far no such luck.
Your probably wondering why I even want to buy this camera. Well one i would like to get into some photography, still a noob but watching youtube videos sure does help! its just not that same as having the camera in your hand to learn though lol. Second i really want to use it to film my youtube videos. I have a small channel right now but im trying to build it up to something to be proud of Cheesy To me a better camera is seriously one of the main ways to increase my popularity.
The Canon T3i seems to me like the most reasonable choice because its probably the best dslr for the price. But yea again as the title suggests looking for some suggestions from people out there! Thanks! Enjoy your sunday evening!

You want to get into photography that's awesome. If you're into photography does that also mean you are into graphic design? Do you do any photo work as of now? You need to sell a service you offer to make money in return. Do you do photo restorations? Could you? I have some old pictures of my mom from along time ago that are cracked and creased on the surface. If I mailed them to you could you scan and restore them digitally? Think along these lines. By the way if you can I'm interested!

51  Other / Off-topic / VMware ESX 5.1 Question on: March 09, 2014, 02:44:13 PM
So I've got this problem. Wonder if I can get any thoughts from you guys on wtf this may be. So I have an ESX server in a datacenter for some clients equipment. It runs some pretty vanilla stuff. Two of the VMs are sophos astaro security gateway v9's. Those two firewalls work flawlessly. Here's the problem I'm having. I spun up another server 2k8r2 vm specifically for the purpose of monitoring the environment. Nothing crazy on the vm. Installed my monitoring package. Same setup I use at 20 other sites. The only difference is the firewalls are virtual and the other sites have hardware firewalls. When I start the monitoring on the virtual machines it starts collecting data and locks up the whole esx environment and it turns to shit. The only way to stabilize is turn off my monitor vm and then reboot the firewall vms. Do you think that because I'm monitoring the system which contains the virtual firewalls that somehow I'm confusing it because the traffic is all passing inside one device? I can't figure this one out! It's like all the virtual disks in the san start acting in read only mode for the two sophos vms. Can't login to their web interface. They completely flake out.

Sophos support was pretty useless. They said they haven't run across a setup like this before. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone in here can throw some clarity at me!

So I went and took my SSCP exam last week. Definitely one of the harder certs I've worked on. Test was trying to trip me up at every question. Finished up and was already thinking about the reschedule but I passed. Yay. Kinda surprised though. These ISC2 tests are odd. Nailed the crypto part just got tripped up on the stupid OSI layers. Anyway have any of you guys took the CISSP? I can only imagine that ones gonna be a doozy. Ugh

What kind of certs do some of you guys have? I know there's a lot of other IT people in here!

I have
MCTS (office 365)
LTCP (Labtech Certified Professional)
Sophos Certified Engineer
Barracuda Certified Engineer
SSCP (waiting on endorsement paperwork to go through)
VMCE

Next up this month is MCSE 2012 and VCP
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to fully secure your computer for Bitcoin transactions on: March 09, 2014, 02:25:12 AM
This is definitely a method. I use something a little different. I have a BTC virtual machine I spin up in esx only when I need to do wallet stuff. Snapshot it with veeam for backups. My attack surface is a few minutes at best and I'm ok with that.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX whistleblower...the plot thickens. on: March 08, 2014, 09:49:27 PM
The Forum was also complicit in the MTGOX mess. The MODS would shit-can any negative post or question regarding the solvency of MTGOX.  Hope the those specific MODS lost everything on GOX.
I haven't had my posts censored, and I've been very negative on Mt. Gox.

My first post warning about Mt. Gox was on April 14, 2013: "That last strongly indicates that Mt. Gox doesn't have all the cash it should.  (Under Japanese money transfer law, they're required to have 100% of funds deposited with them in a bank account separate from their own funds.)".

When Mt. Gox said on June 23, 2013 that they'd "overloaded their bank", I wrote: "Mt. Gox claims they overloaded Mizuho Bank, the second largest bank in Japan, with 515 branches, 26 million customers, and revenue over one trillion yen. Yeah, right."

On June 29, 2013, I posted info on where to sue Mt. Gox in the US.

On July 2, 2013, when Mt. Gox's "2 week hiatus on withdrawals" expired and withdrawals didn't resume, I made a lot of posts. On July 3, I wrote "Mt. Gox missed the deadline. They are now in default. Time for their creditors to go to court in Delaware."

On July 4, 2013, I wrote "That's an indication that Mt. Gox is short of cash. They can keep their scheme going if they slow down withdrawals so that more money is coming in than is going out. This is exactly the kind of behavior seen just before Madoff's fund went under. If you have cash in Mt. Gox, get it out now. If they're legit, it won't hurt Mt. Gox. If they're not..."

On July 8, 2013, I wrote: "Many readers here don't realize how abnormal Mt. Gox's behavior is. With real-world brokerage accounts, when you order a withdrawal by wire transfer, it's in your bank account within two working days. Usually one. Often the same day.  A brokerage house that fails to deliver on a withdrawal is in trouble. Big trouble. If a firm has major problems servicing withdrawal orders, it's big news in the Wall Street Journal. Other firms refuse to deal with them. In the US, FINRA regulators ask hard questions. Lawyers and auditors descend on the firm. The firm may go under within days. That happened to Lehman Brothers, Drexel Burnham Lambert, MF Global... In each case, within days of default, the firm was out of business. Mt. Gox is trying to play in the big leagues now. They don't get to act like they're dealing in trading cards. "

On July 15, 2013, I wrote: "Someone needs to sue Mt. Gox.  Now. ... Pay attention, suckers. You don't have to put up with this shit. You really can take steps which will eventually either get you paid or Mt. Gox out of business."

Skipping ahead a few months...

On January 26, 2014, I wrote: "It's clear that Mt. Gox is near collapse. No USD withdrawals for eight months, delayed EUR withdrawals, delay on JPY withdrawals, delay on BTC withdrawals, and a 22% spread against other markets. How many red flags do you need? This isn't a "support ticket" issue. This is a "send lawyers, guns, and money" issue. Anybody with money stuck in Mt. Gox should be talking to a lawyer, the Japan Financial Services Agency, the US SEC (yes, they have jurisdiction because Mt. Gox registered with FinCen, sells to US persons, and has an office in Delaware), and suing in the Delaware Justice of the Peace court, the Delaware Chancery Court, or in Japan. It's important that some victim make this problem known to law enforcement in Japan. That will keep the principals of Mt. Gox from fleeing the country. "

I've been posting stronger and stronger warnings about Mt. Gox for months. Those are just samples. There are many more; see my posting history. As far as I know, none were censored.

We warned you. You didn't listen. Now suffer.

You never know man. Your warnings maybe saved a handful of people. I for one thank you and everyone else who screamed from the rooftops.
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fun N00B Mistakes :) on: March 08, 2014, 08:13:32 PM
I look at it this way.
Bitcoin needs to be spent to raise it's value.  So I spend some on stuff like electricity and bits of mining gear when I can and I keep some in an offline wallet.
Bitcoins biggest value is it's usage.
If everyone holds them eventually they will devalue.
A balanced approach makes it both useful as a form of payment and as an investment.

I completely agree. It's just the volatility is extremely scary. I just can't grasp the concept of how bitcoin can become mainstream without getting a handle on volatility.
56  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fun N00B Mistakes :) on: March 08, 2014, 08:02:14 PM
That's one of the problems with bitcoin in my opinion though. A lot of people including myself are afraid to buy anything with it. Out of fear of owning a $10,000 pair of socks. I personally probably won't purchase an item again using coins. I don't want to regret it like I do these socks. They are amazingly comfortable though.
57  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fun N00B Mistakes :) on: March 08, 2014, 07:40:31 PM
Me and an ex business partner sold 1,500 coins at $6.50 because we panicked.

Also I am the proud owner of an 11BTC pair of Alpaca socks :/ I still catch shit for that one at work when I wear them.

:/

In hindsight though I'm glad we sold and got out. He owned a large community bank and at the time we broke even. If we would have kept going by the $1000 coin mark we would have been sitting on 6 to 7 million dollars. He would have sued the bejesus out of me and tried to keep it all.

Makes no sense, you get 2btc per week and you want to sell them? I smell a scam here.

And the fact the he believes we won't question the dark server room. Hysterical.
Use the camera flash?
