41  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does no one mention about the 200K BTG pre-mined? on: October 23, 2017, 06:00:34 PM
If the coin is openly advertised as pre-mined or instamined it is fine as long as all cards are on the table.
In this case, investors/users simply need to evaluate if the amount of premined coins is not too high for their liking.
If you knew before buying/investing that the certain coin has been insta/premined why are you complaining?
However, if the developers manipulated the facts, called it a fork or emergency update - something is definitely fishy here.

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: which is the best to store alt coins in offline wallet on: October 23, 2017, 05:14:50 PM
I will ask you about something - what is your main goal and priority - being safe or lack of hassle while managing your coins?
You want to use one multi-currency wallet to keep your coins in the same place and the same time you want 'paper wallet' level of security?
I would simply use the best respective software wallets and not multiwallets, online wallets.
I agree that this might be a bit tiresome in practice but in the end, there is no single point of failure and that is what counts the most, right?
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Middle East Richest Business Man, Won't Invest In Bitcoin on: October 23, 2017, 04:57:10 PM
Another Jamie Dimon. These filthy riches at/close to government hate bitcoin for a reason. Roll Eyes
Do you know the real reason why rich and power hungry individuals like Banks very much - why? Because they own them!
You can't own bitcoin like you own a Bank, you can't become a CEO of Bitcoin or shape and influence its future.
The lack of control is what is really putting off rich people from investing in cryptocurrency.
As we know the system is behind rich oligarchs, they are on top ATM, they don't want to change this.
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interesting day... Telling on: October 22, 2017, 07:05:10 PM
Survival of the fittest now... err more accurately, most well informed.  Oh and yeah of the luckiest too... definitely that, perhaps above all else.
So anyone who already knows about bitcoin and hopefully bought at least some fracture of it should be considered very lucky.
According to the predictions and expectations, we may still see a huge price increase in the future.
What will you say to your future self if the price of BTC will reach $100k in the future? You can still buy it for $5k-$6k USD now!
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Opportunity on: October 22, 2017, 05:23:46 PM
Do you think guys bitcoin will reach 8000$ next year? i really want to give it  a try now. So many opportunity i wasted and i will not going to let it happen now.
Do you think that bitcoin will suddenly stop growing and the price will stop growing?
I know that we cannot predict accurately future price, but this scenario is totally unacceptable.
Of course, it would be better if you could invest in BTC when the price was still three digits.
But seriously, there is rather high chance that we will reach 5 digits bitcoin in the next 5 years.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi controlling 500'000 BTC on: October 22, 2017, 04:50:42 PM
1. It is really hard to estimate how many coins Satoshi owns. Many people believe that it is around 1 million to 1,7 million of BTC.
2. So far he/she/they haven't moved the oldest coins and we never registered an attempt to sell/exchange these coins.
3. In case Satoshi or whoever who will get access to his stash will try to sell these coins the market will most likely react allergically and the price will crash.
4. Even if that would happen, we will recover after some time, as people will most likely repurchase all Satoshi's coins.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $250000 by 2020 if the seven year trend continues on: October 22, 2017, 04:30:32 PM
Some of my thoughts:
1. While I am aware that bitcoin price won't be rising indefinitely, I am also sure that current value is not the final.
2. We will see higher price in the future - the only minor problem is the right assessment of price trends.
3. Using purely mathematical formulas to extrapolate the ultimate future bitcoin price is kinda too random for me.
4. Some of really well-known investors seem to share this idea of crazy high bitcoin price - i.e John McAfee.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin unstoppable now on: October 22, 2017, 04:16:22 PM
Bitcoin now unstoppable and its  price near 6k and hope bitcoin will be hit 10k this year. Smiley Smiley Smiley
People were saying the same thing that bitcoin is unstoppable and will only climb higher everytime when we have another ATH.
I gathered from my experience that after every single one euphoric ATH there is some event/news/rumour which effectively destroys people's faith in Bitcoin.
I expect that it will be the same this time too. Soon after fork will happen we will see another crash.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Crash! on: October 22, 2017, 03:43:38 PM
I am happy as you all for reaching $6000.
But I am worry about the crash in 2018!
Reason:
1- Only bitcoin from all cryptocurrency is moving far far away from all other coins.
And this is so bad? We need to remember that Bitcoin is original and the first ever cryptocurrency, it is rather obvious that it will be the highest rated cryptocurrency.
Do you think that other copy-paste altcoins should be more expensive as well? Why?

2- Ether is moving slowly up and steady.
Good for Ethereum, as I said it is not that well known and used as Bitcoin.

3- As we are all aware 2/3 of all high profile ICO either are scams, or legally scams to be announced.
It might be the case, yet again, ICOs have very little to do with bitcoin. Simply disregard ICOs you think are harmful or totally useless.
Ban of ICO won't cause any trouble to Bitcoin IMO, there might be temporary downtrend but that is about all what might happen.

4- At least 3 from $50m + raised ICO are having problem executing!
Again, just don't pay attention to ICOs, focus on 'real' coins. Created before ICO era begun.
50  Economy / Economics / Re: Electronic Money vs. Physical Money on: October 21, 2017, 05:22:10 PM
Electronic or digital money is not always synonymous to cryptocurrencies - in fact, most of the fiat money in circulation has no physical form.
It is unwise to think that there is paper money, cash and then every other form of currency which can be transferred digitally can be called 'electronic money'.
Cryptocurrency is a new breed of the money, evolved decentralized, sovereign. BTC or other cryptos have little in common in 'digital' fiat money people store on their bank accounts.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoins or not? on: October 21, 2017, 04:48:30 PM
With altcoins it is really hard to see a clear pattern or predict the direction of the development of certain coins. Even project regarded as interesting and unique might fail.
IMO the best strategy in this situation is simply to buy randomly: just pick every at lease somewhat interesting altcoin and buy it for $50-$500, depending on your budget.
In few years some of the altcoins you bought might skyrocket with price growth over 1000% - others will certainly either fall or won't be popular, but it is still worth the risk.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How could Chinese people trade cryptocurrency after it is banned by Gov? on: October 21, 2017, 10:21:50 AM
From what I heard Chinese exchanges can't accept fiat yuan deposits, that is all. You can still trade Bitcoin <=> altcoins freely.
Chinese trading moved to p2p trading a long time ago, serious Chinese traders think that price of BTC on centralized exchanges is not 'real.
They started to use Bitstamp, Kraken, Bitfinex as price benchmark and use similar services to localbitcoins.
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a new record? on: October 19, 2017, 08:47:21 PM
Percentage wise this price shift/recovery wasn't that amazing and definitely not the biggest.
As the overall price of Bitcoin will grow higher with time I guess we need bo ready for increased volatility.
With prices around $6k price drop/recovery of $1k is not that impressive anymore, to be frank.
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: October 19, 2017, 08:28:18 PM
One reason I can see is the truth that transactions are highly untraceable. The governments wants to have records of their people's transactions especially when it comes to income. Digital currencies', especially Bitcoin, transactions are not governed by tax laws of any nation and that is the reason why some countries look for ways to control it. This results to traders giving up their positions thus lowering the digital currency prices like Bitcoin.
Bitcoin market cap is still insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Less than 0.1% of total population of earth is owning Bitcoin.
Do you think that governments would be control freaks to the point to scare people from potentially the best investment of our generation?
Bitcoin can be shut down only if EVERY single country unanimously would outlaw it when one or two insignificant players will ban BTC it won't cause much harm to the whole network.
55  Economy / Speculation / Re: This guy predicts bitcoin to be $20,000 in 2 years. What do you think? on: October 19, 2017, 08:05:26 PM
19 october 2016: 638,64$
19 october 2017: 5636,42$

It's about +900% in one year.
You're laughing for a +350% in 3 years. Why?  Shocked
Because it is easier to grow from lower price to i.e boost bitcoin's price from $1000 to $3000 than achieve the same percentage growth with higher numbers.
I can't imagine ATM that we will have BTC worth $30k in next 3 years. I am not saying it is impossible. I am saying it will be much harder to accomplish.
That is a reason I see all kinds of promises and predictions that BTC will reach $100k, before 2020 as pure Sci-Fi at this point.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship between Bitcoin and The Moon on: October 18, 2017, 07:32:39 PM
Where is the moon for you?

I would really like to get some responses from long time HODLers of BTC.

If you bought BTC @ $200, are we at the moon yet?

What if you got in at $20?

Where is the moon that everyone is waiting for?
Actually, it is a really good question. I wondered about the 'good' and satisfying price to sell Bitcoin many times.
At this point, I am just gonna assume that "the Moon" is simply bitcoin's never-ending struggle to reach higher and higher price.
I don't think we will see stable bitcoin price, it will be growing constantly - effectively pushing boundaries and changing people's perception of a 'good' bitcoin's price.

57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The secret Swiss mountain bunker where millionaires stash their bitcoins on: October 18, 2017, 07:07:15 PM
I wonder how they have been able to afford that bunker. The whole company is located there or only servers?
Personally, I wouldn't worry about physical security that much - where you run an online bitcoin wallet the most important is online security after all.
Nonetheless, it's good to know that Xapo is not some garage company with the servers stacked in the basement of some random building.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Currencies In South Africa on: October 18, 2017, 05:35:20 PM
Op what do you mean exactly? Do we support, know about and invest in Cryptocurrencies, ICO, altcoins originated from South Africa?
Or what do we think of a general state of cryptocurrency market in South Africa? Because to be honest I don't know any altcoin with its root being in Africa.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price fall below $5,500. on: October 18, 2017, 05:24:26 PM
Just buy Bitcoin at any price really, small price dip will only help you. Don't falter, don't wait too long, don't think that current price is 'too high' already.
Because it isn't! We are destined to reach $10k soon. Have you heard that Indian government is working on Bitcoin legalization?
When they finally push that cryptocurrency legislation - we will reach price like never before. We have exciting times ahead, gentlemen.
60  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: October 16, 2017, 08:08:27 PM
When Ceo's start to read about bitcoin and blockchain technologies then we will see more of them start to use bitcoin.
I wouldn't be so sure about it - first and foremost, what is the best argument for bitcoin? That this currency is widely popular? Rather not.
People are reluctant to use Bitcoin because they are hoping that in the future their coins will be far more expensive.
This is something which keeps mass bitcoin adoption from happening. There is no CEO who will accept BTC knowing that barely anyone will be using this payment method.
