42  Other / Off-topic / Re: What has stronger security? Online wallet or online bank website? on: September 02, 2014, 03:15:19 PM
Hi guys, im just wondering how come online wallets are mostly targeted by hackers?

is this for example http://www.unionbankph.com/ has stronger protection than https://blockchain.info/

i would like to know if online banking is safe, thank you! Cheesy
Nothing is safe in this constantly changing world while people are looking for ways to secure their system hackers are looking for ways to break into it
43  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iceland and Bitcoin on: September 02, 2014, 03:12:40 PM
I don't consider myself and expert on this idea but wouldn't Iceland be perfect for mass adoption of Bitcoin?  Think about it.

1. Dirt cheap electricity for mining(geothermal power).
2. Cold weather to keep mining processors cool.
3. Strategically positioned between Europe and North America for network connections/servers and so forth.  I think they're building servers in Iceland for other reasons as well.
4. Populace is well educated compared to most developed countries as they don't have much else to do except read a lot.
5. They hate banks!

What do you think?
Considering the electricity peeps could make a decent profit from mining then.

45  Economy / Economics / Re: THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE MONETARY BASE OF BITCOIN ON ALTERNATIVE CRYPTOCURRENCIES on: September 02, 2014, 03:07:01 PM
Bitcoin is still a new idea in its infant stage. There are many still do not believe bitcoin can last another decade.

Technology and changes occur fast. None of the altcoins have prove itself not to be a pump and dump coin yet.

The whole crypto currencies regime still look like a fool paradise to me.
You are right, alts are only pump and dump coins that they have survived only due to those people who doesn't uses bitcoin but out of fantasy they use/make altcoins
46  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Most Hardcore Bitcoin Gamblers Are? on: September 02, 2014, 03:04:57 PM

There are many hardcore players out there it's the game of luck and risk.If you are lucky enough you will get rich soon
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most basic explanation should on: September 02, 2014, 03:03:22 PM
Due to demands when people buy more bitcoins it rises and when people dump bitcoins(sell) its price falls
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core Developer says Bitcoin Too Fragile and in its Infancy on: September 02, 2014, 03:02:18 PM

49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Bitcoins to people/retail merchant who are very skeptical on: September 02, 2014, 03:00:03 PM
Well, as the topic mention. Been into quite a few problematic cases where people are so skeptical about bitcoins. Just would like to ask buddies here, any great solution or idea to share in bringing them into the community ?
Yeah its complicated to persuade physical stores to accept bitcoins. They don't know the technology and that seems difficult for them than just taking a dollar bill. You must have a good persuading power and communication skills to make him use bitcoin and accept it at his store.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Spending Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2014, 02:57:13 PM
I just read this:
http://www.finance-guy.net/finblog/how-will-you-spend-your-bitcoin/10/8/2014

It raises an interesting point that if we spend Bitcoin to buy stuff, the companies will most likely sell the BTC pretty quickly.

What do you think?

Will shopping with Bitcoin be good or bad for the price of BTC?
People are more likely to hold and collect bitcoin rather than spending into shopping
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price PLUS $1000 - Would Bitcoin then see world wide acceptance? on: September 02, 2014, 02:54:08 PM
Watching the price of Bitcoin stay at $500 is pretty sad especially when you run a Bitcoin farm. So here is a question I would ask.

If everybody in the Bitcoin community including merchants, speculators, investors, miners and forum members decided to add $1000 to the value of Bitcoin so a Bitcoin price today would be more like $1500 USD instead of $500. Would that really be a bad thing if everybody agreed it was the right thing to do?

Miners would then make money, the back bone of the system.

Adoption would be higher as a base price of $1000 is always guaranteed.

Mining manufactures could continue to create better ASIC machines.

The public would start to see Bitcoin as something of real value, and know each coin is worth at least a $1000.

Maybe this is just something added for the next 5 or 10 years. Just as a way to keep it going so Bitcoin can continue to show the world what a really great technology it really has become.

Bitcoin price PLUS $1000, would that work???  Cool
Increment in price doesn't mean people would accept it.Increment and more volatility in short period makes people not to trust in bitcoin

54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do bitcoin ATMs really suck this much? on: August 29, 2014, 04:07:57 PM
Bitcoin atms are trying to make themselves too much secure because Bitcoin can sometimes cannot combat legal issues after fraud, in many places.

That's why so much cautious.

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which city will be the center of crypto currency on: August 29, 2014, 04:02:54 PM
Probably Toronto because its promoting Bitcoin so much with lots of ATMs.

I don't think Tokyo will welcome BTC.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Opinions] IF you could improve/add/remove 1 thing to bitcoin what would it be? on: August 29, 2014, 03:56:39 PM
AND why?
Just 1 thing, for I it would be transaction times, cause waiting for those confirmations is wayy too long sometimes  Cry
I think they are fine, unless you do too many deals/transactions per day..

Works well for me, I am good with it.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What´s the future of money? on: August 29, 2014, 03:55:19 PM
It depends how long you are talking about...if its 10-15 years nothing major is gonna happen...if you talk of 100+ years then I guess FIAT will be history to be read in books Smiley
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you multiply with 1BTC capital? on: August 29, 2014, 03:54:11 PM
1 BTC capital is nothing if you want to start high, unless you can wait for years and years for your business to grow...

Hire a webmaster and setup ad system for your site...Good earnings.
60  Bitcoin / Press / Re: BitPay Deal Ensures Wider Bitcoin Acceptance on: August 29, 2014, 03:52:55 PM
