41  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 04, 2014, 12:33:20 AM
The end of the year? I think after $850 is cleared it won't take long at all for a new ATH.

I actually agree with that... if we get to $850 then we'll have a hell of a ride. But, do you really see getting past $600, in a bullish interim scenario, being a quick endeavor? I think we'd have to piddle around there for a couple months, man. I don't think people are quite as eager to throw caution to the wind as they were in the first run up... the market is more mature now and nobody wants to be the guy who bought BTC at the absolute ATH price.

its not like its 2020

i say buy, buy likes there no tomorrow, as soon as the profit taking retards are done, 500 buy 690 Buy 850 BUY!!!

but thats me.

Just a question, no troll. But what makes you think they will ever be done?
42  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hashra moonraker on: August 31, 2014, 05:55:08 PM
I would not trust Simon, aka Hashra. So many issues with their last shipments, people were not happy. Over priced, late shipping, NO COMMUNICATIONS were the main issues.

They probably are legit, but if you want the headaches, go for it. Otherwise just order from bitmain.

Edit:

Looks like the thread I'm referencing is gone, if I can find it, I'll post here.

This IS NOT the thread I'm referring. The thread has either been heavily modded, or deleted. People waiting weeks and months for shipments, refunds, emails. Lot's of issues.

45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Suggestions on where to Buy Antminer S3s from trustworthy seller. on: August 29, 2014, 10:45:29 PM
Anybody know a trustworthy seller of S3s for immediate shipments and pre-orders.

If you're looking for immediate shipments from an online seller, you might have to over pay. I don't promote anyone, but you can find a few re sellers on amazon and this website too.

But, really, why don't you buy directly? Bitmain is pretty good about getting the shipments out on time, and early in a few cases.

Yes. Otherwise GABI can't brag to investors about their 30% profit in a short period of time. Think of it like good sex... the longer you hold the greater the release.

I take it this GABI thing is about to happen? I don't know all these people. For some reason my mind keeps thinking this is a football(soccer) player

It's unbelievable the guy found 5 Blocks in 11 days😎

Yeah, he's got at least a 125k fiat investment, about half of it made back in 11 days...not bad. Another luck streak and he's in the profit.
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: what should I do, I invested a lot on: August 26, 2014, 07:15:49 PM
You should calm down and cost average whatever you have left.

This is the worst advice in this thread.

Average down in the long run rarely make anyone money. It only take one bad event to wipe your entire capital.

It's about limiting your losses. Your assumptions are based on the "bad event" that could never happen. If you invest going on the assumption that you're going to have a bad event, then you're doing it wrong.

Besides with all the reset ups and downs that BTCbitcoinBTC has been going through lately, you could have made quite a bit of fiat. It's really not that hard.

So it seems.

You are not alone. At least three other pool owners have noted that there is no evidence of Zen mining on their pools. We have a whole thread going on about that cloudy business (NSFGF - not safe for GAW fans): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=720844.0

GAW/Zen official version as to why you don't see a change is hashrate is that they have a certain amount of hash ALWAYS pointed at all pools and when you switch your 1 MH/s or even 100 MH/s nothing is actually changing except some accounting in the backend.

I believe this is correct. I've read on their forums that they have a certain amount of hashrate pointed everywhere and that it's simply an accounting method that tracks your personal hashrate at Zen. This also explains why your hashrate with them doesn't bounce when you switch pools. It stays exactly at what hashrate you have where normally if you switched pools you would see a drop to zero and a regain over a few seconds/minutes while the script spins up and connects to the new pool and shares start getting accepted.

They have a very interesting system going on right now and they are keeping it quite a secret, but it pays, and it pays well.

Now THAT sounds like a ponzi scheme..

Sorry for not being terribly active here guys, a few things came up and I'm out of town for the week.  Everything is running fine (and is being monitored), but emails and posts here are only checked occasionally.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not everything, execoin still unconverted for 48h now Smiley

Among other coins..(anoncoin,noahcoin, and negative amount on survivorcoin!?!)
58  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 20, 2014, 08:27:17 PM
How many people have updated the firmware?  When I did mine, it would max out around 100G total.  I ended up reset the miner and starting over from scratch.  What has been you experience with the firmware?

You needed to set the frequency in the miner configuration>advanced tab. hit save and apply, bingo!
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: what should I do, I invested a lot on: August 20, 2014, 08:17:55 PM
tl;dr why didn't you buy at $450?

What do you think is going to happen if all the home miner/ hobbiest like myself just can't mine anymore for whatever reason? (too hot, too expensive, too noisy, wife bitching, etc, etc, etc)

Your going to see more buyers and sellers, especially once the block reward halves again.

And seeing things like Newegg.com selling a PS4 for $80 off if you use bitcoins, is great too. It's like being in a club with great discounts. The more people that adopt bitcoin, I'm sure the less you're going to see things like those deals.

But in the mean time, let's do this!

New title for this thread: what should I do, I invested alot and haven't invested since..

I don't know about yall, but X11 isn't profitable below 0.00017 BTC/1MH for me. This is with 750TIs and $0.10 per KWH. I am better off buying bitcoins at the exchanges.

After months of mining scrypt and eventually X11/X13 on wafflepool. I have had to shut the rigs down.

Anyone else run the numbers?

Shut them all down yesterday.
